101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Split: No Confirmations, no transaction? on: June 08, 2016, 08:34:32 PM
Hi,

I'm in bitcoin for a few months now. Up to know, never had any issues.
However, as of about 24hrs ago, none of my transactions seem to go through?
they all remain unconfirmed.

I've done transactions during the last few weeks, without any issue, using the lowest fair fee.
They always got confirmed (6 confirmations) within about 6 to 10 hours, where the first confirmation came in within the hour.

Since yesterday 07-jun-2016, 22:00 hrs (CET), none of my transactions got confirmed, even the last one, where I added the maximum recommended transaction fee, not any confirmation 2 hours later

Is there an issue or a change globally? Is it me, or just bad luck for me? Or .... ?
And how can I fix it? Because at the moment, it looks like I can't make any transactions anymore

I'm using Bitcoin Core version v0.12.1 (64-bit)

example of the latest tx id : https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/5f5e6a542c04fa299fca80159d25e93fe8d3fb5dc33c0728363f1b8a65ec3b94/ for 0.02 BTC (with the highest recommended tx fee)
example of the first tx id (still not confirmed today) : https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/0f5b2172714c91c4c65ad609a9d7c567bb3f74622c00bb859181dd2a56cc7672/ for 0.0051 BTC (I admit, with a very low tx fee)

Thanks for any feedback

that's because you're sending unconfirmed bitcoins (unconfirmed inputs). a transaction can't get a confirmation unless the input have been confirmed.

Why not multibit HD?
I just downloaded that one, lol.
I think I will just forget about signing messages, since it gives me a headache, I am trying for two hours now and am getting sick of it.

because you can't import an address using it. multibit classic allows importing address.

also, looks like you can import the address to blockchain.info wallet even though you already have that address on another account. you can use this method to sign a message.
it's just that the balance won't stop loading if you imported a duplicate address (you can still delete the imported address after you sign a message. but don't delete the other one.).

Is it possible that the number is "0"?
I tried 0 till 30 and with 0 it is my address.

well, yeah, it's possible. the list starts with 0.
I imported that specific private key into my electrum wallet and it says it is a watch only address, although I could send btc to my own address. Do u know where else I can import the private key and sign a message?

you sure you imported the private key and not the address? afaik electrum watch-only wallet can only be made by importing addresses or public keys.

you can try importing it to multibit classic (not HD) instead.

there's no option to sign a message with an address that was generated on the new wallet. same goes for a (simpler) option to view your private keys. both of those are only available for imported addresses.

there's a workaround on getting your private key here.
Thank you!
I am stuck at the point when I have to add my own INDEX#, do u know where I can find this number or how it is named?

...the easiest way is to copy the Xpub (check it on blockchain explorer just to make sure that you have the correct Xpub), go to http://bip32.org/ and paste your Xpub below "BIP32 Extended Key". set the "Derivation Path" to custom and type "m/0/#" without quotes (note the lowercase m.). replace "#" with any number starting from 0 until you find your address.

there you go. pardon my laziness for not making a new post.  Tongue

only (electrum) wallets that doesn't have seed are "imported keys" wallet and watching-only wallet. which one is the one you're using? is it password protected or simply have no "send from" option when you right clicked an address brings up a message every time you opened it?
108  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: help with transaction on: June 07, 2016, 07:23:50 PM
well, which address did you send it to and from where? exactly 1.87BTC was sent to 13SdCTdzGjabvG8R14BEViFwUScWfu3PBA and they're not moving.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "If" Bitcoin as scam on: June 07, 2016, 06:43:33 PM
Even if Satoshi declares Bitcoin as a scam, the bitcoin world has moved on beyond Satoshi.
The only influence that Satoshi would have is the control over the initial bitcoins mined.

that's just not how things works. you can't declare something as scam if you can't prove it.
it is true that we've gone beyond satoshi, though.

first thing you should know is bitcoin are a digital money and you can't earn money by doing nothing. you have to work for it.

anyone can send you bitcoins as long as they have your bitcoin address (that's what you just posted as "ID".)
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Anonymous Enough For You? on: June 07, 2016, 01:18:14 PM
it's anonymous enough for me. even more if you're going to count the many trusted services that can assist in making your bitcoins untraceable.

but I'm not into bitcoin because of the anonymity so my standard might be a little lower than those who are.
112  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: June 06, 2016, 09:26:49 PM
my last payment stats are not getting updated. last on was from 2016-05-20 01:09:41. please fix it.
also I think I'm missing payment for some posts. can't be sure because the payment date and bot reset is getting all weird. I say stop the auto bot reset.
113  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: HYIP VS MINING on: June 06, 2016, 09:02:20 PM
HYIP = High-Yield Investment Program. legit cloud mining sites (I don't know about now but they exist once upon a time.) are not HYIP. fake cloud mining sites (ponzi) can be described as HYIP.

in case you're not talking about cloud mining: bitcoin mining are not HYIP.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Old Satoshi Talks About New Satoshi on: June 06, 2016, 08:52:18 PM
the other guy just mentioned Wright and Dorian gave a short yes/no answer and bit of chatter after that. not exactly what I would call talking about someone (then again I don't think Dorian would want to talk about wright too much because he'll just draw more attention to himself.).
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☞;D☞THE FUTURE OF BITCOIN DEPEND'S HERE on: June 06, 2016, 12:19:08 PM
^anything which goal is to make bitcoin more well-known whilst helping others using it is considered cool in my book.
though you have to know that there have been quite a few african-based bitcoin start ups since then.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☞;D☞THE FUTURE OF BITCOIN DEPEND'S HERE on: June 06, 2016, 11:52:53 AM
it's not even up yet. hell it's looks like the project is dead.
and no, I don't think bitcoin's future depends on that.
117  Other / Off-topic / Re: How secure is your password? on: June 06, 2016, 11:40:33 AM
type 12 random numbers and add two uppercase letter add the end (123456789100II). voila! 5 thousand years.

118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: does anyone remember... on: June 06, 2016, 10:29:04 AM
When Bitcoin was called a scam, a ponzi-scheme, a joke? Does anyone remember back in 2013: The greater fools that ended up paying $1200/BTC? Or the time several million BTC just appeared out of nowhere and the entire system had to be restored?

I remember the first two, but not about the last. someone have a link for that? can't find a thing using google.
I'm not sure I get your point though.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forum moderation policy on: June 04, 2016, 08:48:42 PM
What section would I post in about poker? Also wanted to make a post about coaching texas hold em low stakes. Whats the policy about that here? I wouldn't mind donating some earnings to bitcointalk.

Gambling. Services if you're charging people for whatever you're providing.
120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prepare for huge panic. on: June 04, 2016, 09:45:55 AM
let's be honest here. all your speculation is about dump, dump, dump, dump, dump, dump, and more dumps. and most of them never came true. a sane person would have stopped taking you seriously ages ago.
