101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Use of Altcoin. Do you know any altcoin that has so much potential as use case? on: January 22, 2020, 12:33:29 PM
I think that third generation blockchains like EOS, TRON, IOST, etc, have the most potential to really innovate in cooperating new use cases. I don't understand why these new blockchains and platforms don't take off in the market and moon?I think that Tron and EOS have the dapp markets by the freaking balls, and IOST (a more recent third generation blockchain platform) is slowly playing catch up. I think these would be the most successful platforms eventually, until the 4th generation of blockchains and platforms come out.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Full Bitcoin node in Tesla? It is possible! on: January 22, 2020, 12:09:34 PM
I think that it was just a hypothetical statement made for arguments sake, demonstrating and flexing the computing power and technical capabilities that the Tesla is capable of. I don't think it would be wise to do so, but if you really wanted to, you could if you fancied it. I think it was really more or so a hat tip in the direction of Bitcoin, an acknowledgement if anything, plus a little bit of healthy promotion for both parties.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do cryptocurrencies diversify each other? on: January 22, 2020, 11:41:01 AM
I think that what you say is true, that the other cryptocurrencies that are on the market are greatly affected by the volatility of Bitcoin. I think this is because Bitcoin itself, is the original crypto coin that all others on the market were inspired by. Bitcoin is basically the foundation for all other cryptocurencies to stand on, and due to the rapid swinging in the the volatility, the foundation doesn't feel completely solid yet, so other coins tend to waver a little as Bitcoin the price moves up and down.
Maybe one day in the future, other cryptocurrency beside stablecoins will become a little more self dependent, but its going to take time.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the value sold in ICO? on: January 22, 2020, 11:18:47 AM
Does anyone know why the amount raised of a coin is different to the value sold in a coin???  Huh
I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly but If I may, I think what your asking is, why does the price of an ICO coin's value differ between the initial ICO sale price, and the coins actual price when it finally hits the market? If this is your question than I think I might be able to answer it. It is like this, the actual sale price during the ICO sale is just the sale price. It is a projected price of a coin because it is based upon several variables which are subject to change.
One of the most important variables is the current market value of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency at the time when they (the startup/business) first drew up the plans for their project and coin. The price of Bitcoin could wildly swing by the time the coin finally lands on the market and reaches an exchange. Again, this is one of the main reasons the price ends up being a different value from it's original ICO sale price. There are other variables/anomalies that could effect the price, but this is probably one of the biggest.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin value starts with people's attention? or with its technology? on: January 22, 2020, 11:00:46 AM

Is Bitcoin really a such innovative thing that can change people's lives significantly in the future?

I think we still live fine without having Bitcoin being actively used in our real lives.

Oh well... In terms of transparency, i can take on Bitcoin's technology.

But which one is it that raised its value so much though?

Technology or People's attention?

Bitcoin is only 10 years old, it has many years to still grow. Bitcoin and the block-chain have come very far and to think, it all came from one mans dream to help change the world through a digitally improved version of your standard financial ledger. I think Bitcoin was only a simple proof of concept introducing and demonstrating the capabilities of the technological innovation of the block-chain, a decentralized, transparent and publicly distributed digital ledger that runs on a peer-2-peer network which prevents any tampering or alterations of it's logged transactions.
To answer your question, it is true, the current financial system works quite well, and is a whole lot faster to use than Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. This is only a time, because the  block-chains are becoming much faster and the interfacing around this technology is becoming more user friendly.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bought this stuff with Bitcoin, great way for people to become aware of Bitcoin on: January 19, 2020, 01:30:22 PM
If you tell people that you bought stuff in the internet or even in a shop with Bitcoin, people will become aware of Bitcoin, more so if the stuff that you are showing them have value when you bought it with fiat money, what do you think about this?
While this is a great idea to help increase awareness of cryptocurrencies and their uses, and it is the best way for individuals to do their share with helping in the adoption of cryptocurrencies but it is going to take a bigger initiative in order to convert more people into believing in cryptocurrency. Many don't see a problem with just using their simple and easy to use fiat currencies.
Unless a major celebrity or political influencer heralds the usage of and pro adoption of cryptocurrencies, the average Joe will continue to be dependent upon the fiat currencies and will never give cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin a fair shot.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we can introduce bitcoin to local people on: January 19, 2020, 12:28:21 PM
I'll probably catch a lot of lack for this one, but I strongly believe in Facebook's project Libra token and platform.
I think most of the world uses Facebook or Instagram so having Libra platform could help introduce and educate the masses about cryptocurrencies as a whole/collective. Some say that Facebook is way too big as it is, but I reasonably believe that in order to maximize adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, you have to use a platform that is able to reach many people at once.
Libra will be a Stablecoin, so people hadn't need to worry much about volatility as they do with Bitcoin.
I predict Libra will be successful if the U.S Congress gives the project a solid green light to launch.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Project Anastasia: Bitcoiners Against Identity Theft [re: Craig Wright scam] on: January 19, 2020, 12:08:21 PM
Bilal Khalid, aka James Caan, Craig Wright, and Jörg Molt all have claimed to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto and have gone through great lengths to try to assume the role of the original Bitcoin founder and creator due to the real Satoshi
Nakamoto being M.I.A since Bitcoins original inception. These guys most certainly all can't be Satoshi Nakamoto so either one of these guys is the real deal holyfield or they all are simply imposters.
Satoshi Nakamoto went through great lengths to keep his identity pseudonymous and they way he presented and carried himself and his project was in an altruistic manner, so their is no way that these others are Satoshi, because it contradicts Satoshi's whole character. Satoshi hasn't even cashed out his coins yet, why you might ask? Simple, so that his image and vision remains pure.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Daily Living on: January 19, 2020, 11:49:09 AM
Signature campaigns really help out with the extra income. Sometimes I feel as though they are a godsend because that little extra income comes in handy more and more often for me. So I guess it is possible to survive off of cryptocurrency if you accept it a payment for various Jobs and tasks. I hope that one day within the future these opportunities become a lot more abundant.
We've definitely come a long way from just being able to buy pizzas and other small things using cryptocurrency.
Adoption seems slow but it is happening, especially with the institutional investors coming in.
110  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cryptocurrency and Society on: January 18, 2020, 12:21:25 PM
I don't think that fiat currency's are going anywhere anytime soon, because it is a whole lot more easier to hand a merchant physical cash than to pull out my phone go to my app, get my cyrptocurrency going and make a sale. To the average joe it is simpler to just use cash. Society won't adopt cyrpto any fast until a social media company like Facebook drops a platform like Libra that educates and empowers first timers with crypcurrencies (even if Libra is a stable coin).
Many don't like the idea of Facebook and the Libra project but I applaud Mark for taking the first step towards official regulation by presenting his cryptocurrency based platform before congress. That's not only a noble act but its pretty ballsy!
111  Other / Politics & Society / Re: racism defamation law on: January 18, 2020, 12:00:18 PM
why is there now law in the usa, that allows someone who has been accused of racism, to sue the defamer, if he is absolutely not racist?

many big american tv and newspapers like cnn nyt, washington journal constantly defame others of racism. why can't they be sued, easier

regards
Simple, because freedom of speech and expression. There would be way too many cases popping up if people sued for every racist little thing. We need to grow up and learn to ignore the race baiting that so often happens today. So would they called you a nasty derogatory word, are we going to moan and cry over everything in society today? Today's generation of society is becoming softer and more PC. Today you can witness the rise of social justice where keyboard warriors feel the right to voice their opinion on someone else's matters and issues, it's toxic and sickening.
Unless there is some direct threat against you like a group of Nazi's pointing a gun at you, or a African American is about to be strung up a tree by a lynch mob, there is no need to nag and complain about every little racist thing to the courts, especially because of words.
Racism toward other human beings will come to a slow crawl once automation starts getting the first dibs on Jobs and other statuses. Then everyone will hate robots, ever see the movie "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" by Steven Spielberg? All races will ban together and only direct their racism at the robots.
112  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do Humans Have Free Will? on: January 18, 2020, 11:45:15 AM
There is no free will, Instead what is presented to you is an illusion of choice. You can be good or be bad, but good and bad is subjective and changes from person to person. One mans pain could be another mans pleasure, just as one mans trash is another mans treasure. It is a Hegelian dialectic, problem , reaction and solution. Let's take religion for example, free will comes down to follow my commandments or don't and suffer.
(Religion in a nutshell).
Sunny days wouldn't be special, if it wasn't for rain, Joy wouldn't feel so good, if it wasn't for pain. In order to see the light you must first realize your in the dark. Truth or lies, Hot or cold, yin and yang.
What is this choice you speak of, I can't find it? I didn't choose to be born,  but I guess i'm here (not my choice). If we are dying just to live, why are we living just to die?
I'm willing to bet you that black scientist guy was right, about super-string theory and finding self correcting code within the very fabric of the universe, suggesting that we live within a highly sophisticated simulation.

Just a theory  Lips sealed
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is There a Way for Craig to Prove that He is Not Faketoshi ? on: January 18, 2020, 11:20:54 AM
I think that all that Craig wright would have to do in order to prove he was really Satoshi Nakamoto would be to sign from the original Bitcoin addresses that supposedly belonged to Satoshi. Or he could possibly log into Bitcoin-talk from Satoshi account. I really he could just move coins from Satoshi's original wallet proving he did in fact own the private keys, making him the original creator and founder of Bitcoin. I believe that many charlatans will begin to show up now more than ever.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Will Reach $400,000 After Halving, History Dictates on: January 18, 2020, 11:00:32 AM
I very well do belief that the Bitcoin Halving will cause a fluctuation in the initial market price but to say that Bitcoin will reach $400,000 is really quite the stretch. I'm all for remaining optimistic during times like this but let us not forget what had happened a few years back in 2017 when the Bitcoin and altcoin markets hit their all time high. Shortly after that huge $20,000 bubble pooped, deflating to a fraction of that price. What do you think will happen if the price moons all of the way up to $400,000?
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Can I pay in Bitcoin here?" - go and ask this each time you pay something! on: January 17, 2020, 12:27:37 PM
Seems like a pretty positive initiative to help spread the word about cryptocurrency. What not a better way than to have a conversation with your local merchants about the potential benefits and use of cryptocurremcy.
Every now and then whilst out walking around downtown (I don't go often), I see a shop or two with a sign within the window, saying "Bitcoin accepted as payment ". now if that doesn't make you feel like adoption is happening I don't know what will, albeit it seems painstakingly slow.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long will existing encryption last? on: January 17, 2020, 12:04:18 PM
Nobody really knows for sure, but there is one thing you can be sure of, there are quantum computers out there right now as we speak. The ones that we definitely know of are D-wave systems quantum computers, which are commercially available and has several big name clients who have purchased a computer from them. There's really nothing to worry about as far as quantum computers go because they are an infant technology and are limited to specific functions on;y, but the real trouble starts when they gain more general function, that's when you arrive at the realization that the existing encryption is on it's way out the door, old news, good bye.
117  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Was it cruel to girls to pretend they should behave equal to men?? on: January 17, 2020, 11:46:53 AM
I think it isn't cruelty so much as it is ignorance. Not every where within the world, but in a lot of places women are beginning to finally feel like equals to their masculine counterparts, men. What you must understand is that women have been suppressed for the longest time, always taking a back seat and now the traditional church upbringing is beginning to lose some its grip on today's society of people. There was once a time when the man was the sole bread winner and the wife was a homemaker (watch any show or movie from the 50's to get a feel of it), but binary roles as of today are kind of shifting. '
Today many women occupy jobs that was once dominated by men, yes, a lot of it is because of civil actions made against companies, but the overall projection is that women are occupying more roles than every before.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ideas for a new Bitcoin name? on: January 17, 2020, 11:27:00 AM
I don't think that you're providing enough details for people to get a feel for what it is that your going for? Why you're creating a new cryptocurrency isn't relevant so much as what it will do, and whats under the hood (code)?
What is your company focused on? What approach are your taking? Will it be proof of work? Maybe proof of stake? Is it going to be a private blockchain, or a public blockchain? Several key factors come into play when deciding a name? You could at least spare the details, thus giving us some lead way to help you pick a fitting name.
Without details about the project and it's initial approach and direction (roadmap) how are we supposed to get a feel for a good name?
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you go to blockchain/crypto events? on: January 17, 2020, 11:08:03 AM
Every year I look forward to the CES and their assortments of conference shows hosting for every big name contributors like Samsung, Dell, Apple, etc. There is always some really good tech in there with most of it being made up of concepts in order to capture the opinion and appeal of the consumer. There used to be a world fair where they would showcase concepts for the future of technology and i think CES is modeled similar except it has been scaled down a bit.
The first world fair for technological prowess was called "Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations" and was held way back in 1851, hosted at The Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, London, United Kingdom.
It would soon be one of many world fairs to come.
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people debate so much about BTC value? on: January 16, 2020, 01:08:23 PM
I think that debating about the value of Bitcoin is healthy for the community and cryptocurrency infrastructure. Bitcoins nature is very volatile and the volume is constantly within a state of influx and outflux, more than the traditional markets like stocks or Forex. I think the talking (speculation) helps add to the atmosphere and ecosystem which keeps people motivated, captivated, inspired and interested within the market. It is good that Bitcoin keeps people speculating, being that it is a supply and demand market. I would be afraid of the day that people stopped talking about the value of bitcoin as much, that's where the real trouble starts.
