101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will kill itself on: May 02, 2018, 10:01:54 AM
Bitcoin probably wont kill itself, there is no reason why it wont adapt and evolve to make any changes necessary happen. Right now there are sidechains developing, lightning network implementations are rapidly increasing and regulation is starting to take shape. It appears to me that bitcoin still has a lot of life in it, as is apparent to the rest of the world too.
102  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice For New Comers To The Crypto Verse on: May 01, 2018, 10:35:39 PM
I've got some advice for you. Do extensive research before you get involved, and certainly don't invest your life savings. Yes, there is unbelievable potential, but there is also substantial risk in the short term. Follow the markets for a few months, and get in when the time is right, rather than when you first hear about the industry as most people do (which usually happens to be at an ATH).
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin destroy the world? on: May 01, 2018, 10:27:51 PM
There's a difference between bitcoin and mining, I understand that to some degree they are synonymous, but they do not need to go hand in hand. The lightning network will to a large degree cede most of the environmental cost of bitcoin mining, as the bulk of the transaction will be handled off-chain. Also, bitcoin has the potential to remake the world borders, bringing the world together so that the energy concerns are less problematic than they would be now.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My bounty story (5.99eth) on: May 01, 2018, 10:23:00 PM
cool story bro, I am happy for you, I also got almost 1 ETH from bounty campaigns and airdrops, but in my case it was a lot of tokens that I sold for that amount to be gathered. the thing to take from this is that you need to put in the work necessary to achieve any kind of profit.

Pretty sure that OP is referring to tokens also. Nearly everybody sells their tokens for Bitcoin or Ethereum rather than actually using the projects the tokens were intended for. Just goes to show that most of these so-called revolutionary ecosystems are really just a facade for a money grab. Nobody really cares about the potential of the technology of most platforms, they just want to invest early, then cash out at the first opportunity.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My bounty story (5.99eth) on: April 30, 2018, 11:19:22 PM
Seems to be a lot of people shilling that coin in here. When there are multiple people in a row all commenting on how great a coin is, in the same broken English, then you know something is up. I would avoid Cuz for this reason as it seems to have a big shill campaign behind it. That being said, if you really did make almost 6 ETH from a signature campaign as a low level member, then good job, as that's a rare treat indeed.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin pose a threat to banks? on: April 30, 2018, 11:17:11 PM
Bitcoin is a double edged sword when it comes to banks. First off they have the potential to completely revolutionize the way that their systems work, whilst allowing interoperability between different banks to a degree not yet approachable with current tech. However, bitcoin also has the potential to completely overthrow the banking system, as few people would even need to use banks should it become THE worldwide currency.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin owner die. It means bitcoin also lost forever? on: April 30, 2018, 11:13:22 PM
Right now there are two possibilities if a bitcoin holder dies;

1. He has left his private key or seed phrase with his lawyer so that his executor can distribute the contents of his wallet to those stated in his last will and testimony. I would expect that this is an extremely rare occurrence for now.

2. His Bitcoins are left in his wallet address for all eternity, thereby reducing the available supply, and slightly increasing scarcity, contributing to BTC value growth.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: roger ver bites the bait and embarrasses bitcoin in australia on: April 30, 2018, 11:11:09 PM
Well they say no publicity is bad publicity right...? Hopefully this news at least opens the eyes of the world to bitcoin, and inspires a few people (preferably influencers) to understand the potential that cryptocurrency has and in turn spread it to the masses. I don't like much of what Roger Ver says or does, but I think overall his affect is positive on the crypto world, and in particular the coins he is shilling at that time.
109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any free trading bots out there? on: April 29, 2018, 07:39:29 PM
You are not thinking about this correctly, particularly since you mentioned the word free in your title. If it was any good, it probably wouldn't be free... Would it. Free bots tend to have very few settings available, they might not even have a stop loss function, and can simply make you go broke on the first trade. They are not currently able to understand articles and research all the stuff that a human can do. It is my honest opinion that you do not use a bot for a long time (without checking on it regularly), although you can luck out with them if you make the right choices.
110  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Straight HODL vs Trading on: April 29, 2018, 07:37:45 PM
Trading requires skill, or it requires someone you know who has skill. It has potential to be more profitable than holding, but not everybody can do it. It requires lots of time and skill. You need to be researching coins and using your brain for most of the day. I would suggest to stay clear of bots unless you really understand the principles on which they are based, so can modify the trading rules to suit the current environment and patterns the bot looks for to act upon.
111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitrage: have you ever tried and how much have you earned so far? on: April 29, 2018, 07:36:48 PM
I have done this many times. It allows for a quick profit, although I do not do it now as I do not have time to be looking around. I can say that if you are looking into doing this it requires time, and ability to look around quickly. There are some bots you can get that will automatically notify you of arbitrage opportunities, but these bots are widespread, so you're up against stiff competition with or without the bot.
112  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia on: April 29, 2018, 07:33:36 PM
I have exchanged with them and had no issues. The website hardly freezes and if you have an issue tech support is quick.

Not sure what all of the negative messages I've been seeing on this thread are about, for such a small team the website does quite a good job of responding to queries, and certainly doesn't have the negative rep associated with it like other sites do.

I'm sure they'll resolve your issue.
113  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: which altcoin other than ethereum is best to invest and trade? on: April 28, 2018, 09:19:12 PM
In my opinion I believe there are a few that are certainly worth looking into, and potentially investing in. Litcoin has potential to be decently size (double its value). I also think coins like ripple and monero have potential and I am currently holding decent amounts of each in order to get maximum profit. I also think that DeepOnion and Zcash are likely to hit the moon soon, as privacy coins are likely to be big in 2019.
114  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New exchange, btex.com on: April 28, 2018, 09:18:03 PM
Why should we trust you over the current exchanges? I believe that your exchange is simply like every other we need to know what is different and what is better.

Exchanges like Binance, Bittrex etc list hundreds of coins, please tell us what you offer over these exchanges, as it appears that you don't offer anything over the other exchanges, as you would have mentioned that in your opening statement if you did.
115  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best Bitcoin Trading BOT? on: April 28, 2018, 09:14:35 PM
You are not thinking about this correctly. Bots can simply make you go broke instantly they are not currently able to understand articles and research all the stuff that a human can do. It is in my honest opinion that you do not use a bot for a long time, although you can luck out with them. They do not bend when the market bends, so unless you are keeping track of the bot on an almost 24/7 basis, it will be unlikely to generate a profit.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Green days are coming for bitcoin on: April 27, 2018, 05:31:13 PM
I remember these days last year, around August/September we heard similar news of hedge funds and institutions turning their gaze towards Bitcoin/Crypto. That's when we saw the miraculous increase from $5,000 to almost $20,000.

If we can keep up this positive momentum, and if the lightning network does its job, we should see the $40,000 BTC by early next year, and potentially much higher not long after.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is King.. why is it?! on: April 27, 2018, 05:29:56 PM
The sad fact is Bitcoin is king because it was first. Yes, it has the most users and easily the highest market cap and trade volume, but these are due to the fact it was first, rather than because it's the best.

I do believe Bitcoin has a bright future, and it will probably stay number 1 for a long time, but it's hard to ignore the competitors hot on its heels, like EOS and NEO with strong smart-contract potential.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS will hit $ 30 in Q2 2018? on: April 26, 2018, 05:03:15 PM
Guys, explain to me please why the launch of the network should raise the price so high, unless it is a regular pump. I believe that the price should rise when the coin / token has real use, and what will happen when the network starts?)

Once a project moves from its test net to main net you know the project is real, and not just experimental. This shows that EOS is ready for prime time, and can start to compete with the big boys. This is obviously going to send the value rocketing, if it was worth a good amount just due to its potential, it will be worth even more when its potential is now a proven fact.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does experience matter in gambling? on: April 26, 2018, 04:59:25 PM
Of course it matters, over time you start to work out the odds of winning, and start to avoid games where you are very unlikely to win.

It definitely matters for skill games such as poker, where you learn reads, odds and hands over a long period of time. I doubt it matters much for pure luck games such as roulette, as there really isn't much you can learn.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a possibility that ether will reach to 19K USD in the near future? on: April 26, 2018, 04:56:48 PM
In the near future (as in within the next year?) I think it is almost impossible. It would have to increase by more than 20 fold which is pretty much unheard of for high market cap coins. At that value it would easily eclipse bitcoin as the number 1 cryptocurrency, which most of us will agree isn't likely to happen within a year, if ever.

Don't hold your breath.
