101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The market is looking all red once again on: November 18, 2018, 09:25:05 PM
I'm shocked about it. It wasn't expected, really strange to see BTC's price keeps falling without limits. Usually when the year is finishing BTC's price tends to rise (and a lot), however we are not seeing this happening now.

Why is there so much fear and uncertainties on the market? It should be a time for recovery after a hard year.
Maybe December can bring good surprises. I hope so, at least a Christmas gift in the end.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble or think it's a waste of money and time? on: November 18, 2018, 08:20:27 PM
Seeing how the odds are pretty often against you in gambling as the gambling services are for making money out of you and not the reverse, do you still decide to gamble? If so, why?
I am also a gambler and i really do think playing gambling is just a watse of my momey and time, that is why i only play gambling if my friends started to ask me to go with them to have fun but i don't push myslef to use a lot of money in playing.

Well if it does give you a good time when you play with your friends then i don't think it's a waste. As long as you can afford the time and money you put into it and it gives you a good feeling. It only becomes a waste when you go beyond proper reason and you put in a little too much.

Yes, if you have fun when gambling with friends there isn't any waste on it. It's a pleasant activity like any other people do during their spare time. Some people like to go to the movies, nightclubs, malls, while others prefer to gamble (and on each of these activities you will have to spend some money anyway...). The important is to spend money with things you enjoy, even gambling.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you worried about? on: November 18, 2018, 07:41:24 PM
What I most fear about Crypto-Currency are the regulations governments can put over it. Heavy regulations can be very harmful for Crypto industry and for all its enthusiasts. It's good to make use of virtual currencies as we do at this moment and it's painful to think it can change without resistance with the stroke of a pen.
104  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin, Gold or Money? on: November 18, 2018, 02:44:46 AM
It could be true, but BTC price isn't rising for now. So people won't have any reason to keep holding, they will tend to use it as currency, however once BTC's price starts rising again they might tend to hold again... It depends the situation we are living on the currently moment. Sometimes Bitcoin looks more like gold (when it stores value and get more expensive within time), but sometimes it just looks like a virtual currency, as it is on its basic definition (with negative fluctuations and difficult to show strength to grow again).
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Malicious cryptocurrency apps found on the Play Store? on: November 18, 2018, 02:22:56 AM
PlayStore is terrible to download this kind of app. The reviews are completely nonsense and irresponsible: you find a mining or faucet app, then you look the reviews and there are lots of 4-5 stars and when you look what they wrote you see things like: "testing, looks good", "wasn't paid yet, but I will give 5 stars for now"...

There is no way to really know if that app is legit or not. And in some cases they start legit and in the end scam the users and worse, steal their informations, with serious chances of invading cellphone's data. I reached to the conclusion it's better to not download any app on cellphones if you really care and want to preserve it for a long time.

Could this reduce the confidence in Bitcoin and other legit crypto-currencies?

Only people who aren't really interested in BTC and Crypto in general will let a negative app experience affect their confidence about it... Just don't download these stuff and you will be fine, use a browser, use popular legit sites and there won't be issues.
106  Economy / Marketplace / Re: If Newbie Offers Investment on: November 17, 2018, 11:30:33 PM
First of all we need to know what Newbie means on this case. Newbie on this forum? Newbie in Crypto world? Newbie in informatics? Newbie in financial market?

If there were a newbie in Crypto-Currency and/or on this forum offering an investment option I could think about it, if this person had some proof of previous successful executed jobs and experiences. With the correct approach even newbies deserve a chance to be heard to expose their ideas and advices.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin too difficult to understand? on: November 05, 2018, 05:31:10 PM
To understand technically how it works is difficult, and of course, most people don't understand it, as it's very specific of informatic area. But the basic necessary to use the currency is totally possible to be understood, if the person has a legit interest on it. Humor is used to explain facts in a exaggerated way, but sometimes humor is pure exaggeration, the facts stay in second plan... Probably these people who don't understand Bitcoin aren't really interested on it at all.
108  Economy / Economics / Re: Speculation or global welfare? on: November 05, 2018, 02:08:07 AM
Speculation doesn't last longer, even if there is big money on it. The solid inventions and improvements remain. So on short term you will see many speculative movements coming and going, but they won't go ahead, while some smart inventions and improvements aiming welfare will appear with less frequence, but once they appear they will really affect the world for the better and then technology keeps advancing, among speculation, brilliant minds and ideas.
109  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What kind of growth would last? Quick growth or slow and steady growth? on: November 04, 2018, 05:46:22 PM
Thinking on long term slow growth is much better and sustainable. Fast growth is only interesting for fast profit and speculation, consequently the price falls right after a high peak and then it's time to get the money off and wait for the best moment to invest again. It makes the environment more risky, so inexperienced investors will have more difficult to adapt themselves on Crypto world, probably avoiding this market again in the future.

Unfortunately, at this moment we have none, quick or slow growth... It's completetly stagnant.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency helping spread child sexual abuse? on: November 02, 2018, 10:04:50 PM
No, it's not. Pedophiles and cyber children abuse exist since before Bitcoin was created. It's like criticizing any other payment method or currency because they "help" spreading crimes around the world. If money laundering and other financial crimes are tracked even if the individuals involved on these activities use Bitcoin, people involved with pedophilia using Bitcoin can be found as well and punished (not only the one paying, but who receives the money too).

If it's happening frequently in Philippines, it's time for the authorities to act with intelligence, taking advantage from the technology it's disponible today.
111  Other / Politics & Society / Re: BRAZIL HAVE A NEW PRESIDENT: JAIR MESSIAS BOLSONARO on: November 02, 2018, 06:43:04 PM
Most people are with Bolsonaro and hope he will be a good president after a long age of shadows and misfortune.

Like Trump, almost the whole mainstream media is against him, the artistic class, the traditional politicians and of course, the organized crime (maybe they could be compared to terrorists in Trump's case). These people speak too loud and it makes they look bigger and more influent than they really are. Actually they are nothing and are demoralized. The population doesn't do what they want anymore.

And although there is officially a difference of 10 millions of votes between Bolsonaro and his rival, plus a large amount of null and abstention votes, there are serious suspicions the electronic electoral system is rigged and the difference of votes at Bolsonaro's favor can be higher! But the authorities wanted to create an environment of "polarization", so the workers party and their socialists/communists can start 2019 stronger to make opposition to the new government.

They will do the possible to disturb Bolsonaro's government, with the help of media, their artists and opportunist politicians.
But there is much to be done, and Bolsonaro can not fail!
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today is the 10th anniversary of Bitcoin on: October 31, 2018, 08:22:44 PM
Congratulations to Bitcoin, its creator and everyone else who support it. 10 years is a big achievement for Bitcoin, proof that there is a solid purpose behind the currency and a loyal community of enthusiasts which make it work and grow within time. If there weren't so many impositions from regulator parties at this moment, I believe Bitcoin would be much more stronger than we currently see.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we still "Early Adopters"? on: October 23, 2018, 02:45:41 AM
I don't think so, because we are the people who fight for the future of cryptocurrency together, maybe we are at the level of mid-adopters where people together develop bitcoin for the better. 10 years have passed and it's not a little time, bitcoin has experienced tremendous development, they (early adopters) are people around 2009-2011

You are right, early adopters are the first ones, who believed in Bitcoin when most people didn't know it yet. All the merit and recognition to these people could be expressed by considering them early adopters, they deserve this status and only them. Those who came after and are still coming are just adopters, new Bitcoin enthusiasts. And in 10 years it won't be different, the beginning of something is a special exclusive moment, it can't be compared to fixed periods of time.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers alert: New way to scam bitcoin users on: October 15, 2018, 05:28:19 PM
It's quite simple. Just don't trust strangers on the internet. No one will give you money for nothing and those promising this kind of thing will take advantage from you somehow, it never finishes well. Also, always check the site you are going to use, especially exchanges. Look for reviews and opinions first.
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What problems cryptocurrency will face in the near future? on: October 12, 2018, 03:29:46 AM
I think the main problem Bitcoin will face are the abusive regulations. Countries that will impose heavy regulations on BTC, charging high taxes from investors, traders and exchanges. Consequently it will become a snowball of fees making many people complain about the costs. Then there is a risk Crypto-Currencies will become mainstream and lose the decentralized status. I don't know if this situation could be reverted after.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crime Effect of Gambling - Your thoughts! on: October 11, 2018, 09:47:42 PM
These issues are connected to casinos without doubts. There is prostitution and drugs usage in casinos or near them because the mafias that operate it usually make money from these other activities too. But I believe there are some ethical casino operators that don't follow this modus-operandi and proportionate a decent environment to their customers, especially those casinos which have as main customers old ladies and gentlemen.

It really depends on who is operating the casino. Anyway I think casinos can be a decent place to visit, have a good time with class, confort and style, since it's well managed.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2018, 08:05:56 PM
...

I don't think all this government trying to destroy Bitcoin. But they are trying to understand and draw border for cryptocurrencies. Because border is so important.

However Bitcoin represent of freedom. So there is a paradox. If government will set a limit for crypto, then they may broke the decentralized structure. I think we have to find another solutions. ASAP!

Agreed. I think it's not that they hate bitcoin it's that how they can implement laws on it, and force tax to it. And they do it through hubs/exchanges. Which they technically break down the rule of decentralization.

Yes, the problem is that Bitcoin breaks the system. It makes traditional banks lose money and governments lose control. But at same time they don't want to kill Crypto-Currency world, because it can be useful for them, if centralized. If a government says that they are going to ban Crypto-Currency it's just that they didn't find a way to control/centralize it yet. One common excuse used by them is that Crypto-Currency isn't safe yet...
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you honestly feel about the recent bitcoin drop? on: October 11, 2018, 07:17:26 PM
This recent drop isn't any surprise in Crypto world. We are used to see drops like that and it's already normal for most people here. But surely, for me it's not good to see BTC price falling, I would like to see it increasing and getting stronger to close the year with good results, so we could start the next year with positive news, increasing the morale of investors in general and potential investors that didn't invest yet.
119  Economy / Economics / Re: If Facebook promotes cryptocurrency, would it positively promote it? on: October 11, 2018, 04:33:54 PM
For me it wouldn't make any difference if Facebook promotes Crypto-Currency, especially through their own currency. They are a centralized platform well known by censoring contents that displease their ideology and Crypto-Currency represents exactly the opposite in my opinion. It's not a surprise they would want to enjoy Crypto's trend at some point, like many other companies will also want to do this.
120  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How should social media be regulated? on: October 05, 2018, 11:29:17 PM
Lol, the solution is to not regulate anything.

Those attempting to control fake news ARE the fake news providers. The point is that they just want the monopoly.  Wink

Every human has the capacity to discern fake from the truth by themselves...
