I have always lived by the coast in the south-west of UK and like to SCUBA dive. Plus, i cannot fly or drive in the mountains after diving in the blak sea without risk of a bend. Yes, it's so the banking establishment have a safety net when fiat fails. Negative interest rates are on there way so it will soon cost money to keep assets in the bank. Remember what happened in Greece? The Government confiscated 60% of everyone's money and gave it to Germany. Then the state restricted ATM withdraws to 60 euros per day regardless of how much money you had in your bank account. Greece government should have done an Iceland and defaulted on their payments. Anyhow, many in Greece moved over to Bitcoin. Now that the Banks have Ethereum, it will be easy for the state to confiscate peoples crypto too. Honestly i haven't checked it myself every and each of these projects but from what i've checked:
1. Digix offers something the world needs, easy way to buy gold.
2. Akasha, decentralized social media, we've all seen that censoring is really bad, especially in countries with 3rd world regime and mentality, like russia, china, every other dictatorship, etc......
When did China and Russia become 3rd world regimes? Maybe you should add America to the list for its police state? They love to execute there citizens in the street and post it all up on social media over there in the US... not forgetting that it is also a corrupt crony capitalist dictatorship. Are you one of these deluded exceptionalists that think they are better than others? I am not trying to defending him, but I guess what he meant is the level of censorship in those countries And what is the level of censorship in the USA? Pretty much the same (if not higher), but in a hypocrite way. Same goes for your country, mine... the entire world is censored. People who are using the "3rd world countries" wording are often thinking that people which lives in these countries are considered less humans. This is their hypocrite way to say "Hey, I'm free to do whatever I want, unlike these people". Yeah, right... Yeah.. the whole idea of crypto is to offer somthing different in the way of world payments, to decenteralise money control and to dump the dollar as a world reserve currency. And the first thing Ethereum do is get in bed with 45 banks in the R3 Consortium where the Federal Reserve is at the center of the network. It would explain why the price went up only an hour or so after a bug was found in geth I'm so glad Ethereum Classic have an anonymous Russian white hat hacker in their dev team writing geth software. |

@ Carlo, I got as far as Coin Tossing/Guaranteed Output Delivery and realised i have seen this video before sometime last month. Maybe Charles put a link to it somewhere. I wish my mind was like... 30years younger and i could remember new stuff better. So... input/output are going to want to implement this in order to gain ecological validity? That's going to be an uphill battle in ETC but I have my fingers crossed for you all and will support where I can (if the implementation of a hybid algo was to go ahead). Ethereum people still have lots of Etc but, Classical people don't want them investing in-case they try and centralise governance. There has to be some way of putting a prenuptial in place first. How are the peer reviews for this publication being received? If this gets implemented in any other "new coin", other than ETC... please give me the heads up as i will follow it's progress and add that "new coin" to my list of crypto activities? |

From what i understand nanopool is about 15% of the network and all the pools together only account for about half the network. With difficulty this low i think many are solo mining. I was using this tool to monitor but it stoped working http://etherx.com/pools/edit, i just added up % and it comes to around 80% so only 20% solo? |

I am no fan of Apple so i will not use Jaxx but I do shapeshift my coins alot. Total blockchain Asset management in a web browser would be perfect. This is just what i need as i currenly mine 5 different coins and am managing 11 different cryptocoin wallets. Also, it takes time to move assets and i have to keep a spread sheet to see where i am with it all. Moreover, I want to keep my assets off the exchanges where they are centeralized and at risk of being hacked or frozen (like during the eth geth bug and Poloniex). Plus, i don't want to declare who i am to an exchange. This is why i like trading crypto over trading financial derivatives, stocks, bonds, commodities, binaries currencies and shares. Burst is gonna be a tough one to integrate because it's tech is just so different to anything else. Ethereum Classic however would be an easy addition. Its a shame the brand name puts them off. And yeah, i know it's not perfect and has bugs, we all know that. Nothing in this world is perfect. It wouldn't be 13$ but 500$ if it was perfect and with 0 bugs, unexploitable, perfectly decentralized, but that's just a dream. All they can do is trying to come as close as they can to that ideal.
