101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: January 08, 2020, 01:34:12 AM
Many people worry when bitcoin has fallen below the price of $ 7000, but fortunately now the price of bitcoin is rising. Back to the price of $ 7200.
In my opinion the price of bitcoin is still fairly normal, no need to worry or panic. Because of the falling price of bitcoin just because bitcoin volatility.
I predict that in the near future bitcoin will try to rise to the price of $ 8,000. And I hope with the rise bitcoin prices can be followed by rising prices
of altcoins, especially altcoins which have popularity and high volume. Like ETH, LTC, BNB and XRP. Hopefully both bitcoin or altcoins will soon rise
in price, so this bull run in 2020 can become a reality.
Your prediction became true just a few days later bitcoin is really growing up now and this is a great opportunity for short term traders but it is still not a sure thing this is the bull market that many people in the forum are expecting, there is still the possibility this is an attempt to try to make people buy at an expensive price by the whales only to crash the price a little bit later and if that happens then the price could revisit the value of 7000 dollars once again.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future of bounty campaign. on: January 08, 2020, 01:05:49 AM
ICO is dead for the retail investor. What I see now is blockchain startups pitching their whitepapers to institutional investors or private investors. I don't blame them. It is less headache for them since these institutions know the failure rate of startups which is 90% failure, only 1 out of 10 truly thrives.

So bounty hunters are seeing less and less profitable campaigns.

I think that ICO will still be a popular form of financing stratupas, but it will take a long time before this happens. Bounty hunters will definitely stop supporting ICO projects if they don't start paying in BTC, ETH or other cryptocurrencies that are listed on exchanges.
How still ICO is popular i don't think. Now you can't find out good ICO projects because of still IEO trend is ongoing. Every ICO projects will never pay other coins which is listed though some legit projects sometimes paying but not enough. But at least bounty hunters should be stop promoting shit or scam projects those are no possibility to pay end of the campaign.
Even ieos are now having problems at getting money from investors, just look at the price of bitcoin that has been growing significantly during the last days if you are an investor do you choose to invest in an ieo in which you do not know if you are going to get any profits at all or do you prefer to invest in bitcoin and obtain very fast profits with the best coin in the market? When you think about this in this way it is very easy to see that bitcoin is a superior investment when you compare it to icos or ieos.
103  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoiners on here have actually used bitcoin/crypto for commerce? on: January 08, 2020, 12:43:03 AM
i have never used any cryptocurrency for daily usage. i have always been thinking that crypto ecosystem is at the very beginning stage and it is still a little bit early for me to use it. moreover it does not sound nice for me to spend my cryptocurrencies to buy something. i invested in them to make profit, not to spend when they are cheap.
Nothing wrong with that but it is also important to begin to use our cryptocurrencies as currencies otherwise no one is going to accept them as a form of payment because no one is using them and if that happens we are never going to get the adoption that we want and ironically you are not going to get the profits that you want either as your investment will begin to go down in value as it is only used by speculators, as you can see we are in a very interesting stage in the development of this market but if we overcome it I think this will be the last hurdle we need to get past so finally people begin to notice cryptocurrencies.
104  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of crypto trading do you recommend with $50 investment? on: January 08, 2020, 12:14:54 AM
If you are going to start Bitcoin trading with $50, long term strategy is preferable for you (now). Short term trading with small amount of money may be unprofitable. I'm not sure that you are ready to spend a lot of time staring at computer screens to make a dollar or less per a day.
Short term trading is not really a good idea when your capital is so small, the cost of the electricity to maintain your computer running is probably going to eat a great portion of that dollar and that is assuming that you earn one dollar per day which is not a sure thing, so the best thing to do is to concentrate on increase the size of your capital until you can get to the point you will earn some decent profits once you begin to trade the markets.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is now the right time to buy altcoin? on: January 07, 2020, 02:14:47 AM
Now is a good time to invest in alts, because alts are now cheap, they are almost at the bottom and soon 2020, which should bring the growth of alts.
The price of altcoins are low on average on that you are right but that doesn't mean that it is a good opportunity to buy altcoins, altcoins have been going down in value for years  and most of them have disappeared during that time period and most likely the price of bitcoin will go down during the next months and that is also a clear sign the price of most altcoins will begin to go down so if you really want to invest in altcoins it is better to wait for an even better opportunity.
You make s good point about some altcoins quenching off the market but that doesn't mean the same situation will happen to all altcoins in the market and with the momentum of the crypto market i strongly believe now it the right time to accumulate more crypto. But, people need to be careful in selecting altcoin and the slot claimed (been among the top 20 on CMC) by an altcoin does make it a good investment.
There is nothing wrong with accumulating coins in fact if you had done so you could be seeing some nice profits right now but I just think the trend of the market is still negative and until the current growth that we are seeing can break completely that tendency then it is better to wait for an even better opportunity, maybe I am wrong and that will not be the first time but even if you are interested only in the top altcoins it seems too soon to see a complete recovery of the market.
106  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long Term VS Daily Trading on: January 07, 2020, 01:51:49 AM

Long term has the ability of "ease of mind" where you don't basically work for your money, you don't worry about what to do and how to do it and if there is a better way to do it or what you should research or if any new news could change the new thing you do etc etc etc. Day trading have the "possibility" of making more money, now don't get me wrong its not possible to make more money most of the time but at least it has that ability.

So I prefer long term much better, its just easier for me and I don't have to do anything at all, just buy bitcoin and thats it, there is literally no step 2 in this process just step 1 where you buy bitcoin, I may end up not selling until I actually retire but I have a secret hope that maybe I won't even cash out than and just leave all my coins to my kids? That could be really awesome and could change their lives so much as well.
Even if you say there is no step 2 you recognize there is and that is knowing when to sell, right now the price of bitcoin is going up nicely, most likely many people are going to excited and try to see if this is the beginning of a larger trend so the question is should you keep your coins or sell? If you are a long term holder then you will keep holding but what if the price was 50k or 100k? Will you keep holding? My point is that your strategy seems to be incomplete since at some point you will need to sell some bitcoin and you better do it when it is at its highest point.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need suggest invest in small amount on: January 07, 2020, 01:27:03 AM
You already have the best form of investment. If am you, I wouldn't like to invest it on any other altcoin. Bitcoin and ethereum are the most trusted crypto, that will give much p profit than other altcoin. Just hold on to your assets (bitcoin and eth) and wait till the bull run starts
Most investors do not realize this until it is too late, bitcoin is by far the best investment in this market and I would dare to say it is the best investment in the world, I do not see why people are always trying to obtain more profits by joining ieos or icos when we have known that the majority of the people lose all their money when they invest in those projects, when they could make a lot of money with bitcoin in a relatively easy way if they just held their coins.
108  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin could be 6000$ soon give us your opinion on: January 07, 2020, 12:46:05 AM
There is possibility that the price of the bitcoin of the bitcoin can drop down into $6000 per each if the bearish trend will continue to dominate the cryptocurrency market. I have cut loss strategy that I keep applying and it is below the support level where I can minimize the losses that I can experience. If the price breakdowns in its current support level, I will automatically let go my positions.
As I am writing this bitcoin is close to reach 8k for the first time since Nov 21, this is a good signal what I do not know is why this is happening now, did something happened that completely changed the attitude of most of the participants of the market or this is just another instance in which the price seems to go up only to crash in a spectacular way and it allows the whales to get even bigger? It will be interesting to know the answer to that question and we are going to find out about it soon.
109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to read trading charts? on: January 07, 2020, 12:24:56 AM
Have a nice day!  I know that most of here are all traders if you don't mind can i ask a little questions here because i am curious about trading. How did you do that? How do you read charts because i am still exploring and i don't know how read a charts anybody can help me with this? What is the best way to learn reading charts in an easiest way.
Reading charts is a very straightforward activity, but it seem that what you want to do is to read the charts and obtain profits in the process, and that is a more complex issue, the most important thing is to know exactly what you are looking for in the charts and then as soon as you see what you are looking for then you need to act on it, your strategy needs to be coherent and even more importantly it needs to be profitable and there are not many strategies like that in the market.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Death of ICOs on: January 05, 2020, 03:10:45 AM
still ICOs are losing popularity because of

1. Concerns with funded projects
2. Regulatory hurdles with selling the tokens
3. Crypto bear market

How is it possible that you have forgotten both magic words? Oh I know you must be wondering what I'm talking about, right? Here are the two magic words that make people stop investing money in these ICOs:

1 - FAKE TEAM

2 - Plagiarized Whitepaper

You can look at the number of scam cases: Scam Accusations

It is really that simple, many are looking for all kind of explanations about why something like this is happening but if the market of icos was not populated in its majority by scammers then they will receive more funding, no one is in this market trying to lose money and icos have been a waste of money for years, it has become so bad that to be honest I do not even give them the benefit of the doubt, to me all icos are scams until they can prove they are not.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: It is right to come back? on: January 05, 2020, 02:48:04 AM
It seems to me that in 2016 and 2017, the situation on the cryptocurrency market was much calmer and everyone knew the prospects of the cryptocurrency in the future, but did not build castles in the air about what to expect in the near future.  Of course, you can understand that most cryptocurrency users dream of seeing the same bullish trend as they did in 2017, but each of us understands that we will not see such a cryptocurrency price increase for a long time, since many active investors have left the cryptocurrency market due to  losses and increased risk, and society is not very favorable in relation to cryptocurrency.  In addition, there are certain problems with some governments, which very often speak out negatively about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
The expectations for the price of bitcoin were huge as well in those years, the difference is that no one really knew if bitcoin will actually grow and it surpassed the wildest dreams of everyone and now everyone wants that to happen over and over again and that is not possible, even if 2020 is a positive year for bitcoin no one should expect the same kind of growth to happen again, you are never going to gain 20x profits with bitcoin in a single year like what happened in those years but you will still get some profits.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Expectations for year 2020 on: January 05, 2020, 02:11:43 AM
Our hope for the year 2020 so that all the bounty projects we follow will get satisfactory results no longer happen as of this year we are always in a false hope by every manager who manages bounty gifts, every project we follow always Not escape the Scamer, and most importantly in 2020 the price of Bitcoin and Altcoins will continue to increase and can penetrate the highest numbers as it has ever happened in the year 2017.
There is a decent possibility that bitcoin will grow up during this year but I am not so sure the same is going to happen to altcoins, but what you are asking about bounty campaigns is simply impossible, scammers have taken over the market of icos and they have no intention of letting go of that control because even in the current difficult circumstances they are still earning some money and until that changes we are not going to see a change in the ico market and the bounty campaigns they use to promote themselves.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoiners now is your chance on: January 05, 2020, 01:43:32 AM
I think the best option now is to buy BTC for 40% of your cash and make an altcoin portfolio from another 60%. And i think one should avoid investing in new projects or lowcap coins now - it's too risky. Top-30 on coinmarketcap - that's the right answer.
You can choose whatever strategy you believe it may give you some profits but during 2019 the best coin in which you could have invested your money was bitcoin and most likely the same is going to hold true during the next year so I do not see the point in investing in altcoins such a a huge amount of your capital and take such a huge risks just to get losses, it is better to have 100% of your capital on bitcoin and only decrease that amount when altcoins have proven they can make greater profits than bitcoin during this year.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in January 2020 will touch 10k, What do you think? on: January 05, 2020, 01:16:54 AM
I don't think it will touch $10K in January which is pretty much starting tomorrow. However realstically I think somewhere in the first quarter we might see $9-$10K.

I periodically look at the Deribit options and looking at the OI and volume for March 2020 expiry,
https://www.deribit.com/main#/options?tab=BTC-27MAR20

You can see that the $8000 call options had alot of volume recently and the open interest is big at 1182BTC and the premium is way over $750.00. So whomever invested in these options is betting that it will be at least $8750 sometime before the end of Q1 2020.
That could be very interesting, if bitcoin reached that price then it will get very close to get out of the negative trend that we have been experiencing for the last months, however reaching that price is not going to be that easy, bitcoin is having a lot of problems just to try to reach and maintain 7500, and the bears will probably do everything in their power to stop the bulls from gaining momentum and in my opinion I think we will continue to see a market dominated by the bears for some time.
115  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you ever trade at work? on: January 04, 2020, 03:02:29 AM
Do you ever trade at work or trade on your work computer? Any reason why you think this might be a terrible idea?
first the connection is not secured, second the computer is not mine so i might damage the files of the company if ever there is a trouble happens.

and besides trading can wait because my work is more important than my trading schedule.

and also i dont wanna be kicked out from work just because i have some other business in crypto.
I was only thinking about the ramifications of trading in your work and what could happen if you were discovered, but you make a very good point, when you are trading you need to access your account and I make sure that my personal computer is completely free of any viruses or malicious software that may make me lose my money but I will never get the same kind of assurance on the computer that I use at my job, if anyone found out that you have access to cryptocurrencies they may install a keylogger and then get access to all your accounts and steal your money.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin could reach $100,000 in 2020: Ross Ulbricht on: January 04, 2020, 02:36:32 AM
Even with good adoption rate globally, I still doubt Bitcoin will reach $100,000 in 2020. Let us wake up and realize that 2020 will start in a few days from now. And after only 12 months, 2021 will follow. Bitcoin is at $7,000 right now. $100,000 is $93,000 to go. "Could reach" is unlimited. Bitcoin could also reach $500,000 next year but it just will not.
It is obvious that we are not going to reach that price during this year, if anything I will consider a great success for bitcoin if it reached once again its all time high and instead of crashing the price remained relatively stable, we need to see bitcoin reaching that all time high again so investors understand that it was not the result of a bubble that it will never repeat itself again and the best way for bitcoin to do exactly that is to reach the ATH again.
117  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Bitcoin Halving will drive the price down... on: January 04, 2020, 01:35:57 AM
Next Bitcoin Halving will drive the price down because the ecological system in which Bitcoin lives will be reduced.
More miners will bail, and it is the miners who are the bone marrow that creates the life blood of block chain.

Thoughts?

Absolutely not.

In fact the increased costs of miners per coin may well push bitcoin prices up because they are unwilling to sell these coins at low costs, especially with the expectation that halving will bring with it substantial price hikes in the BTC markets. And by your logic, all of the halvings previously should have resulted in BTC crashing, but evidently that has not been the case.

You're overworrying in my opinion. 2020 should prove to be much more bullish than 2019 proved to be.
While I also think that he is worrying too much we cannot discard the idea that if the price of bitcoin does not go up during the next halving this will create problems for the miners that are not as profitable, and while most likely they have reserves to try to keep their operations running they may come to the point in which they need to sell their coins for a loss and as we know no business can run for long when something like that happens.
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin now Pump and Dump? on: January 04, 2020, 01:10:07 AM
last year many experts said if the price of bitcoin would reach $ 50k in 2018-2019, but all that was just nonsense and the reality said otherwise. in my opinion they are not whales who are looking for profit, they are just experts who make predictions to look for fame. I used to believe that prediction, but now I know it's just a joke.
You nailed it, most of those that give predictions that are so extreme do it so they can gain some recognition and to gain attention to themselves and in the case they happen to be right they want to take credit for making the correct call and if they are wrong no one is going to remember, it is better to ignore those predictions and concentrate on what bitcoin can actually achieve during this year, personally if it was up to me I will ask not for a price increase but for a higher level of adoption in my country.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How NOT To Get Scammed on: January 04, 2020, 12:42:14 AM
Excellent set of tips, which unfortunately will not be heard. In the end, scammers get results partly because of the stupidity and naivety of the scammed, but much more often because of the greed of those who let themselves be dazzled by fantastic earnings.
I think most of those who have been scammed deserved it.

Right? People actually already know all these things. Common sense should prevail, but like all people when greed takes over, they just simply choose to ignore common sense and go along with their luck. They're all speculators and gamblers hoping to make a quick buck, and exit faster than others do.

The tears will come but they'll forget, and then they come back for more.
But that is the thing even if they won any money by investing in all of those HYIP that will have nothing to do with their skill it will have to do with their luck, in my opinion the worst thing that it can happen to you if you invest in those HYIP is to win the first time that you invest in it, this may seem counterintuitive but it is true, because if the first time you invest you lose then you will consider all of those promising great profits scammers but if you win you will think there is a legitimate chance to win when that is not actually true.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: January 03, 2020, 04:08:41 AM
bitcoin prices are down, I think that is normal in the trading market, so we have to be positive to think and not panic, hold it better because bitcoin prices will definitely rise again, we'll just wait
That sounds to be very easy but it is in fact one of the most difficult things to do in this market, holding your coins when the price is going down can be a terrible strategy if at the end you panic and you sell your coins, and what it is even worst is that the whales know this market is full of newbies and they move the price of bitcoin just to try to make people to sell their coins and the majority of those investors discover too late they do not really have the strength to hold their coins no matter what and sell their coins at the worst possible time.
