381  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long Term VS Daily Trading on: October 30, 2019, 02:39:11 AM
Hello everyone, I was introduced to this forum by a friend who advice me to be marketing IEO/ICO companies but I see trading as the only thing I picked interest and willing to spend time here to learn. As a result of this I have dedicated 5 - hours daily to learn about crypto tradibg here in the forum since my research only keep me discouraged and scared due to their negative emphasis. I will like to know the difference between shot term and long term trading and the one that is much profitable. Also the different risk involved in both.

Best Regards

CHRIS
Both styles of trading can be profitable what you need to do is to find out which one is better for you, if you are willing to take a higher level of risk and you are willing to watch the markets every day for hours then short term trading will be a good option for you, but if you prefer to minimize your risks and you have no problem with holding your coins for months or even years if needed be then long term trading could be a better option for you.
382  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cryptos Are Exploding Higher, Bitcoin Up Over $1,000 In Minutes on: October 30, 2019, 02:18:18 AM
I don't remember to have ever seen once Bitcoin increasing by 30% in less than 24 hours, or it was long ago.
So during the same week, it suddenly loses 10% and then suddenly makes +30%. There's something fishy about it. I don't believe in arguments about the recent positive comments from the Chinese president nor the good buying opportunity with the key support level of 7500 dollars.

I prefer to wait until the next week to see, you never know if there is another trap behind. Roll Eyes
I do not believe it either but the truth is right there for everyone to see, during this week there were talks about some traders being worried about the death cross happening and just as we got it the price began to go up, and that makes me think that maybe this movement was an attempt by the whales to try to revive this market and avoid the possible repercussions of panic spreading among traders and investors, but if this is true then this manipulation cannot go on forever and the price will drop again.
383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't react to the fluctuations on: October 30, 2019, 01:13:23 AM
We have been doing same mistakes again and again that's by reacting to the market fluctuations as either we tend to start buying like there is no tomorrow when we see pump or else panic and empty our coffers for slightest  dump and the reason I am suggesting you all to stop reacting is for the fact that the bitcoin market is going through quick pump and dump from past 4 or 5 days so it will prove fatal if we sell out or buy at this point of time. Just take some time and look observe the trend for week or so before jumping into any conclusion.
This seems like the correct path to take but I do not think many are going to follow your advice, the market is truly in an unpredictable state now and while some may regret losing some profits if the market actually begins to go up once again it is better to take that time to look at the market and analyze what it does from now on, this way if this is once again a bull trap then you avoid losing money and in my opinion that is as important as earning profits in the markets.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has alt season started? on: October 30, 2019, 12:39:45 AM
Do you believe that it has started? I have a good feeling that I should buy them before winter. Prove me wrong.
If that is what you believe then you should act based on your beliefs, the market of altcoins is definitely looking promising but I have my suspicions this is nothing more but a mirage, we seemed to be headed for an altcoin season some time ago and then a crash came out of nowhere and any hope to see such an altcoin season disappeared, and now we are facing the same scenario once again and a crash is again possible as such I prefer to wait until it is completely clear an altcoin season has started.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen to alts if Bitcoin crashes back to $5000? on: October 29, 2019, 04:23:26 AM
I don't think many alts would recover against Bitcoin if this happens and so they will crash even more. Some solid alts with good liquidity like Litecoin may recover but most won't recover in my opinion. Thoughts? Undecided
\

Bitcoin at $5000 is going to produce a purge, those altcoins that are just pump and dumps and altcoins that are duplicate of existing projects and altcoins that are not good in marketing their coin and updating their community will suffer if Bitcoin drops back to $5000.
The one thing that keeps these altcoins from being purge from the market, is because Bitcoin is still going up, the trust is still there and they partake of these trust from investors.
Not really, during the beginning of this year we saw bitcoin lower than that value and yet there were still a record level of altcoins and I do not really see how this is going to change, as long as there are investors out there that believe it is going to be easy to make profits in this market then they will continue to invest in altcoins, and each new year cryptocurrencies are getting more popular so it is not like at some moment the money will run out either.
386  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Rational Price For BTC on: October 29, 2019, 03:50:04 AM
If supply and demand is influenced entirely by idle speculation and whim then
the market price represents anything but the real price. For the price to be real,
the market must derive the price from tangible metrics. Buyers and sellers may
not always agree on what that is exactly but everyone should have an accurate
approximation, i.e. by using the same or a similar formula based on a tangible metric.

There are many metrics to Bitcoin but the one that all others depend on is the hash
rate. The security of the blockchain scales directly with the hash rate and so should
the price. A pricing formula can be all kinds of sophisticated but it needs to be simple
enough that anyone can do it in their minds. The initial price of this formula needs to
approximate the current market price to make it easier for everyone to adopt.

According to https://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/bitcoin-network-hashrate-chart,
the last recorded hash rate, as of this writing, was 97ehs (exa-hashes per second).
We can generalize it to 100ehs. The price has been moving around $10k so I'll use
these numbers to find a constant that will make it easy to derive the price from the
hash rate.

100 ehs / $10k = $0.01 <--- constant

What's the price of BTC? Simple: (current hash rate ehs / $0.01) = (97 ehs / $0.01) = $9700

Now the price will scale with the hash rate:

    ...

    at 1ehs, 1 BTC = $100

    at 10ehs, 1 BTC = $1k

    at 100ehs, 1 BTC = $10k

    at 1000ehs, 1 BTC = $100k

    ...

Buyers and sellers are still free to trade above or below the real price buy not as much as usual.
This is nothing but the old labor theory of value in which the value of an object is supposedly determined by the work needed to make that good, but the current accepted theory is the subjective theory of value which states the value of something is not determined by anything but the demand coming from individuals, and if you are questioning yourself what is the rational price of bitcoin? The answer is simple, whatever people want to pay for it.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ???? AFRAID OF NEW PROJECTS !!! ? on: October 29, 2019, 03:15:53 AM
Even those measures are not really enough, there was time in which if you took the right precautions you could avoided most of the scam projects with ease, but that is not the case anymore, scammers have learned to imitate the characteristics of successful projects to the point that it is impossible to tell them apart and when that happens there is only one logical solution and that is to stop investing in new projects no matter how good they may look.

Still, if we allow scammers scam our investment then it is our purely responsibility, as investing is purely a choice, and people cannot force you or obliging you to invest, so if you invested, without doing a research, then it is your fault anymore and no one should be blame on it, as you are responsible for your own action.
And it is precisely because of those reasons I do not recommend to anyone to invest in icos or in ieos, if you decide to invest in the wrong project no one is going to be there to protect you, any money that you invested is going to be lost and taking into account how difficult it is to earn any bitcoin due to its high cost then it is better to keep it regardless of the promises the developers of new coins could make, it is simply not worth the risk to invest in new projects.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs dead? on: October 29, 2019, 02:50:14 AM
lack of funds is an obstacle for developers to develop their projects. the enthusiasm of investors plays a role in project development. because of the many fraudulent projects, the investor then left until finally the ICO died
Why is it always about the money? There have been many successful businesses that started with almost nothing and while bitcoin is not a business but a form of money the same can be said about it, satoshi didn't needed the investment of anyone and despite all of this he created something that will most likely change the world, when you take this into account then I question myself why developers need so much money when satoshi already did most of the work?
389  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Technical Analysis Bullshit or Not? on: October 29, 2019, 02:29:05 AM
Well experienced traders may have a slight advantage by using industry software and tools, at the end of the day the space is too competitive for most people, so consider avoiding day trading.
But how experimented traders got that way? There should have been a time in which they had no access to those tools and in which they were newbies, so you cannot explain their success in that way, what they did that most investors do not do is to have a very clear idea about how to trade the markets and if things went wrong then they kept thinking about it until they got it right, and the market is not as competitive as you may think since there are very few professional traders if you compare it to the stock market.

Most of the time, technical analysis is a way tool for whales to manipulate the price, they are giving fake signals for their own benefit, so let's not trust and rely them too, unless your friend of from a family member, always remember that you should not trust much in crypto, you should trust yourself alone.
The whales can manipulate the market and there is no way to deny that but most indicators that you can use in technical analysis are nothing but a reflection of the past and the whales cannot manipulate what had already happened, besides even if you're right and technical analysis is not a tool that can help you tell with a very high precision what the market is going to do the truth is there is no other tool that comes even close to it so we have no other option but to use it.
390  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looks likes ETH is breaking out of BTC pair on: October 28, 2019, 04:31:05 AM
Your analysis is good Enough.but if you go back to 2017 i saw bitcoin price was 2000$ that time eth was something like 0.04 to 0.038/ETH.Now ETH is 0.02btc/ETH.still lower than before.in my conclusion ETH is not breaking out of btc pair even lower than before.I don't know in future ETH can breakout BTC pair or not.
Many only seem to care about the price of ETH in dollars but as of late ETH is unable to recover and breakout out of BTC, when that happens this could be an indication of an impending altcoin season, but even now ETH cannot do it, it seems all the interest from new and old investors is on bitcoin, the bitcoin dominance which has been going down slightly during the last weeks is once again above 67% and if we reach a new all time high then it could be even higher than that.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin and alts on: October 28, 2019, 03:45:48 AM
No one can know when it will happen because this is a financial market so the prediction is often incorrect. I think $12,000 will not happen this year and don't expect too much because the current market is very volatile and is being manipulated very easily. You have the right to choose to invest at this price but I advise you to be more careful because without a smart investment strategy you will be the next victim of the bear market.

Of course, everyone wants to be rich from this market but only 5% of investors can make a good profit and best prepare the money needed to invest.
A week ago I could have said that it was very difficult to reach that price at the end of the year and now despite the month almost coming to an end there seems to be a chance to reach 12000, however while I also think there is some manipulation going on if the market is going up you have no choice but to enter it, but as you state there are only a handful of traders that make profits over the long term and if you do not know if you can be one of them it could be better to just hold your coins or stay out of the market.
392  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC TO 35K$ IN 2020 on: October 28, 2019, 02:34:56 AM
WOWWW... How quickly the wind changed direction. There are few people here with such sharp turns.
What is the next move? You will say that BTC is garbage?
This is not rare at all, many investors when they lose money instead of trying to look at the source of their losses and understand if there is something they could have done differently they blame the asset in which they invested regardless of whether or not it is in fact a scam, it is obvious bitcoin is not a scam but the volatility of bitcoin is not to be taken lightly, I am not completely happy by what it is happening because I think that what we are seeing in the market now will eventually lead us to an even bigger crash and it is not something I want for bitcoin but I can easily accept it otherwise I would not be in this market.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dont be surprised if ETH hits 4000$ on: October 28, 2019, 01:57:05 AM
I will not be surprised at $4k to be honest, I will not be surprised if many good and strong alts not only hit their ATH but go beyond it by 2 or 3 times, so ETH at $4k is perfectly realistic BUT only if Bitcoin also breaks their own ATH.

Of course, most alts will pump anyway but how high they go is all down to how well they used the time in the bear period to develop and grow. In this sense, ETH did really well!
But we know this market is completely unpredictable, I think ethereum has improved significantly but if the investors do not invest money in the coin then all of those improvements count for nothing, if you were to ask me which coin among bitcoin and ethereum improved the most I will respond ethereum but it seems institutional investors have no interest in ethereum and until they do a price of 4000 is just a dream that is completely unreachable.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH experiences the deepest downfall this year on: October 28, 2019, 01:35:03 AM
Comparing the performance of ETH in 2019 to 2018, I will vouch for the performance of ETH in 2019. In 2018 during the long bear market era, ETH experienced its deepest downturn price of $80. 2019 has been good to ETH although ETH has not yet recovered to even 50% of its all time high price mark.
I am beginning to question myself if ethereum is ever going to recover, it is very easy to think it will and I still believe it will but the results have been so poor compared to what bitcoin has done during this year that I am beginning to lose hope, bitcoin is once again going up in price and while ethereum is doing the same its growth is nothing compared to what bitcoin is experiencing and this is despite all the improvements that the developers are making to ethereum.
395  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Africa be a good place for crypto? on: October 27, 2019, 03:26:54 AM
Almost every person in Africa who contacts me by Telegram and Instagram about bitcoin wants to get rich quick, and is often already involved in a ponzi or similar 'system' or 'platform'. The most common thing people ask is how to join, how long before they are a millionaire, and how much do they make monthly. I think it's mostly the "rich" Africans who trade and involved in Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies.
In all honesty many of those that wish to become part of the market think in that way at the beginning, they have heard the stories of those that became rich and they think it can happen to them but we know the truth, the most common outcome is losing money due to a scam or by simply timing the market wrong, then there are others which have obtained profits but nothing like what they want and even more uncommon are the stories of those that became millionaires.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Prices of Bitcoin and Altcoin are down now ...? on: October 27, 2019, 02:43:22 AM
Everything depends on your situation, but of course there are recommendations. Try to trade or invest only in coins with the top 20-30 Coinmarketcap. Don't buy all the money right away. Buy gradually, and a little. If the price drops then buy some more, and do not invest in only one coin. And, of course, before you trade, go through some trading courses. Because in this market it is very easy to lose money.

You should always check Coinmarketcap so that you can always be updated to the current exchange, i also advice to have lot of patience in doing trades because you can only gain big profit if you hold and wait till the right moment when the price of your coin rises up. Also have some experience in doing trades because in that way you can come up with your own strategies that you can use in doing trades. Yobit and Binance are the best exchanges. they are very secure, trustful and i have personal experience with them.
I do not have any problem with those that choose to invest slowly in the market but there are times in which it is a good idea to invest all your available capital and that is when you see the coin you want to buy has reached a low that it has not touched in months, when that happens then most likely you are watching a price close to the bottom and from now on any movement of that coin will be positive, this is important because it makes holding your coins very easy compared to those that buy at the top and need to hold their coins for months without any profit.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: About New Altcoin's on: October 27, 2019, 02:19:34 AM
It is getting almost impossible to recognise a scam altcoin directly at the beginning, because nowadays, every project has almost a finished project, a good whitepaper and a real team. Only with some time, you will mention some strange team decisions and based on them it can be revealed that this project is a scam.
A good whitepaper is usually the result of copying other projects and they change it a little so that it can be a differentiator. about the team actually has been widely discussed that many are also falsified. You should follow the development of what is happening in the current conditions where it is very disappointing
This is becoming more common as time passes, a good white paper used to be an indication of a project that was serious but scammers soon leaned of this fact and began copying the white paper of other projects, many investors never took the time to verify the white paper was original and were caught in a scam, as such unless you are very good at detecting scams and have experience doing so it is better to stay away from new altcoins until the number of scams goes down.
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to protect your token's on: October 27, 2019, 01:40:30 AM
I lost also my token when i go to ethereum market that idex i deposited my token there i thought its safe to put the token there for a long time.
But sad to say when i check my token theres a trasaction that they withdraw all my token i feel sad because its almost $300 if i sell it.
it is already was discussed a hundred thousand times at this forum that on exchanges it is worth storing only the money that you trade. the remaining money is best transferred to a cold wallet
It is likely we will have this discussion many more times, every day there are new people coming to this market and yet they do not know the minimum requirements to store their coins safely, while I can understand why they could keep their coins at an exchange for some time, after reading a bit more about how cryptocurrencies work they should immediately create their own wallet and transfer their coins there otherwise their coins will be at a constant risk.
399  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the day trading profitable ? on: October 27, 2019, 12:41:08 AM
Day trading has been proven that it is profitable for many users, yes, some other people cannot do it, but most of the users can do it, so there is no reason for us not to do it as well, we just need to be patient and determined while doing it. But, if you are the type of person who is really busy then day trading is not fit for you and go for long term.
It is the opposite, most traders cannot really become day traders and there are many reasons why this is this way, the most obvious is that to become a day trader you need to dedicate completely to it and very few have the time to do so since many have other jobs and they have families to take care, you should only try to become a day trader if you can arrange your life in such a way that you can trade all day, if not possible it is better to stick to other methods of trading.
400  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Hold on: October 26, 2019, 06:28:50 AM
It's around three month from the date Op has mentioned about his interest Inn bitcoin, age and the buying of bitcoin at a price of $9200. From the description provided he's very lucky to know about bitcoin at a much younger age of 13. Also he has understood better about the technology as well as has known about holding of bitcoin to profit in the long run.

I believe he isn't a active bitcoin user, and it seems he buy and holds for profit. That's why he isn't not much active in the forum. Probably he'll be the Eric Finnman of the falling generation.
We do not know what happened to the op since it seems he only created his account to ask that question but two positive days was all what it was needed to change his position from a losing one to a winning one, he bought at 9200 and the price is above 9500, while it is nowhere close to the profits he was expecting since he wanted to wait until bitcoin surpassed its ATH, at the same time he is experiencing profits above 3.5% and starting your trading career with a profit is always many times better than starting with a loss.
