How the forum is going to look at grin as far the payments/transactions are concerned?
Will it be ok to do payments/offer services in grin in the sections that were exclusively marked for bitcoin?

Grade two is rather rampant on the forum and most of the reasons is because they came in with the mindset that every cryptocurrency users should not be trusted,hence they tend to take every information skeptically which should not be so in every single situation.
Being skeptical to the information is much different then purposely denying the information to continue with your troll. Don't bother to reply and argue with them then they will cool automatically. Is it not ? How they will troll if no one reply on their post?
This is the one the best strategy currently available to us but troll sometimes post again the same thing again even somebody does not reply to them. It is better if I am able to delete the troll post. Troll will automatically discouraged in posting. |

I tried to understand bakkt and I got feeling all those who are advocating bakkt or ETF, does not understand them or them have very hidden motive behind it. I can cause one time spike in the price but in the end it will be harmful to the bitcoin economy. My understanding is these all are tools to regulate bitcoin/cryptos. |

Just got more then what I expected. Surprised to see my name on DT1 final list. I will revise my custom list once again. I believe no one will misuse his/her feedback from my custom list. Almost them was DT2 from beginning except few.
Congrats buddy. You deserved it. I have no idea that my wish can come true so soon. I will like to see you in DT as well.

Personally I feel, there might be hardly any account for sell after all these Merit requirements. Those who are selling accounts are might doing a con business.
1. You might not got nothing and will be scammed of your money.
2.Even you are not scammed and got the account, still very likely that you might get banned for plagariasm or red trusted because people spot these changes.
3. Sometimes account sellers try to recover their account after selling.
There are lot of risk associated with purchased account and it is frowned my community, so better to stay from it.

Cool story. Luckily you'll have more time to spend with this awesome friend because you're now banned and I'm sure bones reported your Sr. Member alt as well.
I have a long way to go to earn that new reporting badge when it rolls out. Only have 107 good reports so far.  Luckily, these ban appeal threads are like fish hopping into the boat. Just try the Altcoins bounties section, you will easily get too many post to report if you are specifically looking for reporting badge. I am somewhat better with 150 good reports but still a long way for me to 300. |

I don't know why the people are waiting so eagerly for ETF and Bakkt. They have no idea what they are advocating .
@JC , I saw that video and I will like to echo ETFBitcoin with slight modification "If you can't stop it, then you regulate it".

Bitcoin just turned 10 years few days back and in this 10 year journey of bitcoin has seen many up and down whether it is Mt.Gox or oscillating price or fork of bitcoin to create bitcoin cash. In this journey bitcoin also get associated with various financial products and service. I am going to look at various product and services associated with bitcoin for which many people have enthusiasm but I am bit skeptical about them. 1.ETFPeople are looking at ETF as a medium that will make bitcoin easily available to common man or every household. In reality they forget that many of ETF are just going to be paper ETF with no backing with physical bitcoins. It look to me a direct attack to be bitcoin exclusivity of 21 million coin because paper ETF can bloat the supply on their will. Secondly, ETF will treat bitcoin as an asset instead of currency. 2.Bakkt Bakkt claim that it is working to create a "secure global platform" that will meet "regulatory requirement".Tagline of Bakkt is "Bringing trust and utility". Their tagline keep me wondering do bitcoin require "trust" or need to prove its "utility"? 3.Payment processing site like bitpay.Ok, they are providing service and their service is cheaper than using credit card but still they are third party or intermediary between the payee and payer. Is usage of bitcoin is not supposed to remove all the intermediaries in between? Look like, financial institutions and regulatory bodies have joined hand together for devising scheme to regulate it and dominate its market/value associated with it. Bitcoin to its core will be governed by it protocol and will remain fully decentralized but it will be fully regulated ,scrutinized and governed by centralized authority in our individual wallets. Is I am the only one or do you also agree? |

but if you negative-rate someone for generally disliking them, then their retaliation against you may stick. In borderline cases, it should result in something of a political battle.
Can we make the system that rating turns negative (otherwise it remain ???) if it is supported by 2 other DT1/or (2 other member of custom trust list) just to diffuse dislike. Obvious scammer will likely to tagged by everybody. #1
As a special exception to the normal algorithm for determining a user's trust network, if you are on the default trust list ("DT1") but more other DT1 members distrust you than explicitly trust you, then it is as if you are distrusted by the default trust list for all purposes except for this very DT1-composition determination.
Will user status will be DT2 or user will be expelled from DT2 too? This is inspired partly by something that David Friedman said once (though I can't find the quote), that one of the requirements for a peaceful society is the credible threat of retaliation in case you are harmed.

Now it look like custom list instead of appending with forum list is just overriding the forum default trust.
I am interested in appending system so that I can add few that I want to trust in additional to other. Look like current system is adding overhead to add so many users.
You can append if you do this: DefaultTrust
included_user1
included_user2
~excluded_user1
~excluded_user2
However this screws up depth somewhat. You probably want depth 2 with DefaultTrust so that you can see DT1 and DT2 green/red ratings. But depth 2 will also make you see 3 levels (0, 1, 2) for included_user1 and included_user2, which might be not what you want. Alternatively, don't use DefaultTrust and do a full custom list. I think that's what you're were worried as becoming "static". But you can always review it at the beginning of each month when DT1 is regenerated. You'd have to do it even if you used DefaultTrust as above because regeneration might have dropped users you want to include and vice versa. So might as well just do full custom. Looks like it got fixed now, thanks. But I am more interested in cons of system specifically about point 2 and 3. Does not it look like it is becoming easier to game the system ? |
