That is a large chunk of Bitcoin.
If you are really going to give it away donate to helping children somewhere and help some animals.

I know if I was given any of it I would put some towards my 1 1/2 yr old daughter's college fund.  Then I would pay off some of the medical bills that have been building up from my spinal surgeries.  I am going to find out on Thurs the 29th finally when my next surgery is.  It will be my 3rd surgery on it in 2 yrs.

I am gad you have that much Bitcoin, congratulations.  That is great they are releasing your coins back to you.

It is not often that the government gets something right.

Enjoy them no matter what you do.  Grin

You are able to mine both now with MM 3.0 and higher.

We have to mine Vertcoin and Darkcoin for pay electric bill.

When Multiminer will be able to  compitable with all type of coins.

Corned beef hash is my fav.
What kind do you like?

Maybe it was when blend was thrown in with hash?

Speaking of hash to you have a preference for hash browns?

Just a note for those that do not know BFGMiiner 4.0 went live as well a few hours ago.

I updated the press release article that I was able to do for Nate and Luke Jr.  I hope this helps get the word out for them and their users.

Thanks again Nate for the great job.

I have an interview with Nate that I will publish towards the end of the week.  He is really a very interesting guy and talented programmer.

Luke Jr has officially released BFGMiner 4.0 into the wild with a ton of enhancements and features. Along with it a key member of the development team Nate Woolls released MultiMiner 3.0 to go along with it. Update: BFGMiner is live. 5/26/14  Quick Note: Slight Delay on BFGMiner.  It will be posted soon. :-) Notable in the BFGMiner release is the support for many new miners that have come on the scene. Some you will recognize from my reviews like the OneString Miner, HexFury and Gridseed Blade reviews. The official support makes BFGMiner even more hardware friendly. There is even support for the hard to find DrillBit miners.  Notable is the support for the extremely late Butterfly Labs Monarch miner which is looking more and more like a waste of Bitcoin that buys Josh of BFL a house and two cars. More support for the multi-chip Nano Fury miners and so much more. The new hardware support is great because it allows quick integration into your existing BFGMiner controlled ecosystems without messing around.

Great job Luke.
I updated the article with the official release.

That is good to know.
 Cool

That is good news.
I did not know that bitcoininformation did websites.  Cool info I cannot wait to see his works.
I got dragged to the lake today for the holiday here I will send over the draft tomorrow evening for you.
Things are really getting going well it looks like.

Well I am an Android and Web Developer after all. Not the best around but oh well. Trying my best.

That is great news.
Right now I have to run my Blade on cpuminer so I can clock it at 838.  I would love to bring it into the MultiMiner ecosystem. :-)

GridSeed support is limited to the 5-chip devices and DualMiners. If someone would like support for other devices, they will need to do one of the following:

  • Write / update driver support and send a Pull Request to Luke and myself
  • Or send an author a sample unit and documentation to have the driver support added

This goes for any hardware support really. I have asked many, many folks for a G-Blade so we could get support in for 4.0. No dice, so no support for 4.0.

Okay - good news! I have confirmation that there's a G-Blade on the way from a hardware sponsor. Once I've received it I will of course give them lots of credit and love, and then make sure both BFGMiner and MultiMiner fully support the G-Blade appliances.
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [AUTO SWITCH] ScryptGuild (BTC Guild) Beta on: May 26, 2014, 04:02:42 AM
This is great news I will get some units point back to Scrypt Guild.
I had moved away in anticipation of the move but I am just happy to come back.
Thanks for the great work.
 Smiley

After a lot of consideration, the merger is likely not going to happen.  ScryptGuild is going to remain a separate entity from BTC Guild.

However, there are going to be some major revamps in how ScryptGuild operates over the next month, to make the process more user friendly, reduce the number of settings, and make it easier to track things like BTC per MH/s/day.  These changes will also be targetting making it easier to add/remove coins from the system.  Some more details will be posted over the weekend.

ScryptGuild is still going to be doing a server migration over the next month to get it connected to the BTC Guild colo for higher uptime and fewer networking issues which currently plague OVH.

The plan is removing the ability to pick a specific coin to mine, and having the pool stop tracking shares submitted to each coin.  Instead the pool will simply track shares submitted, and pool the rewards from all the blocks mined in a given shift and split it that way.  This will reduce the database overhead *significantly*, and also make it easier to add or remove coins to the system.  Users will be able to observe what coins were mined, the exchange rate that was paid for each coin, and then how that reward was split.

Users will be able to pick BTC or LTC for their converted amounts.

Part of this change will also be modifying the coin switching backend as it relates to lower difficulty coins, only moving a percentage of users to a low difficulty coin for example when it becomes the most profitable, something which is not possible to do right now since the system is specifically allocating a user's shares to a specific coin for reward splitting.

1009  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: May 26, 2014, 03:58:10 AM
I agree with the decision.  Now we can keep our fingers crossed and hope they ship in a decent time frame.
By the way my inside source has shown me that the Zeus miners are drawing less power than anticipated.  I am not allowed to give specs yet but that was a nice surprise as they had been retargeted at a higher draw pre-release.  The numbers are back in line with initial estimates.  That is good news going forward that the pre-order miner you have should hit power draw targets as well.

We had to borrow to pay for it. It would be embarrassing to have to borrow more. Let's not gamble as there is no guarantee price will go up.

I went ahead and paid for the remainder of our order.  Now back to the waiting game.

Thanks Nate
I will give these a try and get the info out the device manager and see what I can do.   Grin

any idea which drivers to use for the onestring miners and yellow jacket?
I am having issues with the yellow jacket as it is a nano fury.  One sting I just want to load the correct set then use the arguments you had posted for them to work well.

I only have a couple of IceFuries (NF1) and a NanoFury2 stick. Both of these use the standard Windows HID driver and required no driver installation.

I'm not sure on the OneString miner. If it uses the Windows CDC driver, you may need to create a custom INF for it. You can check out these existing ones for a reference:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/w06b7nj1f07lv29/Windows_ASIC_CDC_Drivers.zip

The only real differences in the INF files are the PIDs and VIDs which you can get out of the Device Manager in Windows, along with the Strings section at the bottom (which doesn't matter - just name the device).

That is cool.  Hopefully it goes well.
I see they used one of the pics from my article.  LOL

The HB01 has been working well for me still.  No hiccups or issued.
I have been pleasantly surprised.

I had updated on one of the 2 2.8 systems and I did not think and ok'd the push to the other systems and it updated the 3.0 one as well.  Sorry I was not a bit more clear.  I was surprised but at the same time was not used to having the 3rd system yet. LOL

Quick note.
My rigs updated to the 2.8 update and none of them are updating to 3.0.
The rig that was on 3.0 updated to 2.8 and I lost my coin configs in it.  Just odd.  I was not expecting that one to update when it was already on 3.0.
I hope it helps with anything going.

Interesting - 3.0 should not prompt to upgrade to 2.8. I haven't seen that or heard that reported, but I will sure test it.

The rest is to be expected, unfortunately. The sordid details:

Both version 2.8.9 and 3.0 were released with code that will prevent them from notifying of "major" updates, e.g. v2 to v3. I released 2.8.10 afterward so that those on 2.8 would get major updates. Unfortunately though, folks on 2.8 (even 2.8.10) will not be prompted to update to 3.0 - for now. That is because 2.8.10 is technically the "latest" build.

Once I release 3.0.2, that will be the "latest" release and folks who are on 2.8.10 will be prompted to update. However, at that point folks on 2.8.9 won't see 2.8.10 as a viable upgrade anymore, so I don't want to pull the trigger on the update too soon. I'm watching version numbers and will do it when it makes sense.

It's a bit of a mess, I know, but it only affects the auto-update notification. Folks can still manually update.

And I tested the original scenario while typing this - I can't seem to see an instance of 3.0 prompting to upgrade to 2.8.

A bit of oddness Nate.
None of my systems are picking up the 3.0 update to update too.  It is not live yet?

Sorry to hear that. How about adding the "cgminer-3.7.3-maxcoin-windows" miner to mine keccak? It appears to be the best to miner for keccak out there and that way all the coins in coinwarz would be covered.

Sure I'll check it out. Thanks again for the suggestions and insight on these algorithms. If it works like the rest of the *GMiner forks it should be easy enough to drop in for 3.1.

That makes sense and I know how busy you are so I do not blame you.
I don't have the skills to do that or I would.

I have a Blade.
How do I do the Pull Request?
I am unable to send it out or I would have offered but if I can send you some data from it I will do so.

A Pull Request means you (or someone) would write the driver code and then contribute it back to us for BFGMiner. At this point I'm not interested in doing remote development or making a driver by trial-and-error. It's just not something I have the time or bandwidth (or - to be frank - incentive) for.

Greed is definitely something that destroys or taints so many good things.
This coin is the start of something good.  Smiley
Finally as well the review should go live next week and a draft will be to you by sunday.
That should help as well.

That's great ManeBjorn! I'm trying to get a website going so things are a little more professional! Hopefully that will be ready for the article.

Well, every bit helps right? We have a proverb for that in The Netherlands: Wie 't grote niet eert is 't kleine niet weerd?. It sucks that you lost BTC in that bullshit exchange and I hope you can earn a bit back with this project (and upcoming projects). Because you deserve it as well. I wish you all the best!

I would love to mint coins myself, but I have no idea how to do that nor do I have creative mind to think of something nice. Roll Eyes

I hope that my small donations help. That's an interesting saying Smiley

It does suck- but it was my fault for still using them. I knew better, but I was greedy with all the crazy volatility. I actually warned my friends against using them myself! Should have taken my own advice, so should one of my friends in particular!

I appreciate your kind words. If you're interested I'd be happy to share the details of the designing and manufacturing of my coins with you. I had no idea how to go about it until I did this project. It's been a great learning process but I think the best thing has been meeting lots of new people in the community.

Working sweet on 3 rigs.

Now if we can just get it working with a G-Blade...  Grin

Unfortunately I've asked everyone I can think of and still no dice.

As soon as I have one I'll update the driver. Or someone who has one can do so and send a Pull Request.
