1002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a failed experiment? on: March 10, 2020, 09:38:31 PM
Although, I don't know on the basis of your findings that make you believed that Bitcoin is a failed experimental digital currency. Remember, Bitcoin is the first mainstream manifestation of Blockchain before others started venturing into the industry. Many giants have already joined the world brought to us through Bitcoin, like IBM, Samsung and many more. From the PoW, PoS and down to  centralized system, Bitcoin snowed the light before others where able to see the light. Bitcoin is the only true decentralized digital currency with an open source to all.
1003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin mining a problem of wasting energy? No on: March 10, 2020, 09:13:32 PM
How do you relate this to your findings? Currently, miner get paid 12.5Bitcoin for validating new transactions on the Blockchain, which I see as profitable compared to their energy consumption in the process of validation. We should always get some facts straight before share them to other members who understand the system. Bitcoin as PoW algorithm made it more decentralized than others and power consumption matches the reward for the Miners.

1007  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why bitcoin transaction confirmation keep coming on: March 08, 2020, 02:03:39 PM

<~~~>

So basically if we have 6 confirmations then it becomes impossible to forge (I think thats most suited as per my little knowledge) the transactions.

Yes, with 6 confirmation the transaction has been recorded on the Blockchain. In simple terms, with 6 confirmation there's a clearance already.

Quote
Lets make it 20, why doing confirmations for days. I received a payment and its confirmation is still coming 144 so far.

Believe me, that transaction has been confirmed and ready to be spend.

Quote
If we restrict confirmation to some limited figures we can sort out the scalability issue.

Practically I see no reason to that because, at 6 confirmation we're ready to spend the recharge.

Take a look at this but has been spent

Community Update:: [Sad News]: Nigerian shot dead after resisting robbers access to crypto phone

Nigerian Man Shot Dead by robbers to access his mobile phone with crypto

Quote
“Investigations so far have also revealed that the bosom friend of the victim arrested had hinted one of the suspects of the discovery of $10, 000 in the victim’s Bitcoin wallet and then contacted the other suspects for the robbery operation. “From the confessional statements of the suspects, their intentions for carrying out the operation was to dispossess Iroro of the $10, 000 in his Bitcoin wallet but were disappointed to find out that what was left when they struck was $400.

I don't want to bring this news, but I guess everyone in crypto should understand the dangers whether online and offline. And another sad thing is that the man doesn't have $10k, but rather $400.

Also, we need not to tell anyone of our bitcoin stash, otherwise others might be tempted to robbed us as what happen here.

1009  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: March 04, 2020, 05:59:31 AM
To be precise, on 28th December 2018 a colleague of mine came around my section to have a discussion, in the process she told me about this trending technology called Bitcoin but at first, I feel reluctant because I wasn't sure of such digital currency to be in existence due to her explanations. With some time, I  gradually learned many things from her and became a member of Bitcoin Garden. Then, on some occasions with other friends on Bitcoin Garden, I learned there's another forum "Bitcointalk.org" which was more of information sharing concerning the technology, then I opened an account on "January 15, 2019, 03:36:21 PM".

From the day of my registration, I found out there is more information about my questions regarding Bitcoin which friends were unable to give. I couldn't imagine my humble self being an educator to those who introduced me to Bitcoin Garden. Many reached and still reaching out to me for some information. Since I joined here, I become a Bitcoin preacher in my little way. Thanks to Satoshi Nakamoto, Theymos and Forum members for the golden opportunity to learn from them.
1010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways in which you can promote bitcoin. on: March 03, 2020, 08:25:48 PM
You can promote Bitcoin as the rest do here or in social media.
Tell them that:
- the halvening will double their profits.

Don't give such advise as you can be held responsible if things go the other way round during and after Bitcoin halving. This event is unpredictable even, so, never give such advise please.

Quote
- that there are standard returns of investment

There's no 100% guarantee standard returns of investment as the market looks too volatile. Investors without proper research before venture into an investment stand the risk of losing their investment funds to the project.

Quote
- that price will go parabolic soon

What if it doesn't?. Stay safe with them and not get blames from them as friends at the end. Playing it cool still the best.

Quote
- that soon Bitcoin will be a vertical line all the way up to $100K

Who told you that?, Such is not an advise or promotion please.

Quote
- that it is the future

Yes, it is the future of finance and future of mankind.

Quote
- that it will kill the dollar

No!!! It will decentralize all existing process.

Quote
- that it will be used by everyone

YES!

1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Insider trading on: February 28, 2020, 04:36:12 PM
I am not supporting insider trading here because this is both risky and unethical practice. I have tried to make point that you should figure insider trading and shouldn't go with such a coin because the insider will dump on the new investors face.

Absolutely correct, those who have heard such information can testify to that fact that; before some insiders get the needed information(the period of the pump) the real whales have already starts dumping into the hands of the investors. I could vividly remember a discord group which I was a member, they claimed to get insider information for execution but always make us pack the dumped tokens|coins.

The truth about this group is: for you to belong to this set of group you have to subscribe nothing less than 30Bitcoin if not more now. Let us be cautious of the fact that; they are the ones controlling the entire ecosystem of cryptocurrency.
1014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Take a look at this and stop fooling to FUD on: February 24, 2020, 01:55:09 PM
Although am not a good chart reader, but always try to pick some curves around any chart to digest internally and manifest when am done. According to the chart below, from the first and second bitcoin halves, something is unique about this event; its always on a ride to ATH. A careful look at the third Bitcoin halve which is coming 11th May 2020, I begin to see reasons why I must not sell any sat in the name of survival, let me go hungry for the now Grin

Does this mean we're going to hit something like $60,000? Or $280,000?; Hold on, I have to start accumulation theory in other to swim in the bubble days. If it takes me selling out my company assets to buy more Bitcoin I would do better than human will comprehend.
There's nothing good like grabbing free Internet money(Bitcoin).

1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Nigeria Start-up Blockchain and her policies. on: February 18, 2020, 03:00:52 PM
Well, the efforts from Africans in building their future with Blockchain has started yielding more fruits and bigger fruits yet to be seen. The third world countries have eventually found hope and rescue from digital currency, ready to exploit the entire market to gain freedom from her oppressors.

Although the government of Nigeria hasn't gotten into Blockchain because they haven't come out open to make it known. This is my first time to see a Nigerian opening coming out to have a start-up and raised $15M and another $127M. I see this as an achievement on our part and share it with the community.

For those who actually understand the government of Nigeria and what they are capable of, what do you think will be their reaction to this progress? Putting into consideration our CBN policies towards technologies.

1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins founders need hire one that complement their efforts, please. on: February 16, 2020, 12:58:32 PM
We are tired of half baked projects around us without a good case use.
What do you think we should emphasis in this matter?

You cant simply say that they are just creating new proejcts and not given focus or pirority on their project. OP not all developet have the funds to support them.

Having an idea without finance, your ideas should wait for the finance to arrive before development and not using investors money to build your ideas and when these said ideas fail them they disappear. Am on the opinion that; a founder should go as far in getting loans to build their project and not investors funds.
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season, scam altcoin projects will appear. Check their Githubs first on: February 15, 2020, 08:34:54 AM
More also, ensure to check the team behind the project before proceeds to invest with them. We have seen lately how the whole scam scene have been change by these crooks to get newborn investors trap into their project. Soon scam projects will pump up and these newborn will get their ass into their net, for those who will obey and read round the forum will be SAVE.
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins founders need hire one that complement their efforts, please. on: February 15, 2020, 06:45:45 AM
They don't actually have to hire one, they need to stand out and be with the project they have started but if they have no choice and they want to leave, that suggestion of yours is good.

Candidly speaking, they need to hire those who can compliment their business.  How can a project stand out without the right team? Its impossible, you can't be a business oriented founder and still expert in tech.

Quote
..........but only a few of them does have vision for long term goal. They lack of goal setting as well ......

Those with long-term goals are those founders hiring to compliment their vision in a project.
Here's is the point, how on earth can a founder with limited knowledge have a long-term vision? Its not possible. This'd reason why we have SCRAP's called Altcoins today.
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoins founders need hire one that complement their efforts, please. on: February 14, 2020, 09:31:42 PM
Sometimes ago I was asked a simple question about some altcoins projects existence that fade away with time. In other word, why are many altcoins founders decided to focus on tech undermining what they are called for in life, some are good in generating business ideas but aren't good in tech.  We have seem cases of such with many projects without a tangible result, names withheld.

For any altcoin project to survive and succeed, the founder should understand what his call is concerning the project, they should know where they are good at and participate,  not interfering into others areas of specialization. Probably, Satoshi has business ideas and was also good on tech but others should not follow suits like him/her. This has destroyed many good projects from the surface of cryptosphere and should be voice out. Let every founder place priority over the area he or she specializes in and not doing all things at the same time without a good result.

Here are good examples: Google boys has Eric Schmidt, Facebook has Sheryl and Microsoft has Steve B. Looking at these projects, they survived and still surviving because of the hiring.

Therefore, altcoins founders should hire those techs to complement them on the techs side of the project. We are tired of half baked projects around us without a good case use.

What do you think we should emphasis in this matter?
1020  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful! on: February 13, 2020, 06:47:58 PM
Watch out for the clone sites, it looks extraordinarily the same as the real one, only misspelled word in the domain link or just a special character in the middle which will be unnoticed most of the time. So better don't log in to new sites when you are in a hurry. Always bookmark the frequently used sites to avoid entering into fake and scam sites.

Some higher rank members sometimes fall victim by  those clone websites out there because they behalves like Newbies. Many time I have come across clone websites and was able to identified them with time, so many of us are always in a hurry to complete some jobs online without proper verification. Anything called IoT am not always joking with it because that's my virtual life.
