Hi, my name is Steven. I am trying my best around the net to seek funding for a book I want to publish. I wanted to start a kickstarter but dont have enough contacts on social media. I live in South America, and have been for almost 10 years, in several countries,  and am hoping to start my dream career in writing and also to finish and publish my book about those who break free to travel, live in a place that makes them happy. What means most in life other than material items and being surrounded and involved with those to share love, helping others and thr happiness that brings you in life. I am trying to raise $7500.00, which will help me with some more research, to finish my writing, some graphic design, time, and also to start self publishing and printing as well as advertising. I am asking for Bitcoin donations to help me realize this, thank you - 1FwsACfRyaH6fQhCz6BcQa7oWwyEEKueCP  - If you have questions you can contact me - krakenirwin@gmail.com

Could We make a sticky post to avoid lazy newbies spam the same question for ages?
1004  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting posts on: February 13, 2015, 05:16:13 PM
Want to know , how exactly the report system works ?
Let's say you have 100% on your reports , then you report another one it stays 100% , couple of hours later it becomes 99% , the only explanation I got is that Moderators or staff should confirm if the report is right or wrong ? that's it ?

Another question , any page to see Top reporters on the forum ? I've seen a log with top reporters I guess posted by BadBear or someone else

Yes, it is. Eal F. Skillz said here before. I'm not sure, however if an updated list is around. I think theymos or staff need to download it from server.
1005  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie Jail Needed at the earliest on: February 13, 2015, 04:38:50 PM
I don't think that newbie jail is a good idea. As you all know newbies accounts have some restrictions to begin with. They need to wait 5 minutes (?) after posting a post to write another one. One thing I would like to to see is deletion of all non used newbie accounts from forum database.

I think newbies starts from a 6-minute wait then reduced as their activity pile up. I don't support deletion if such a task involve deleting user produced contents.

I was talking about newbie account only. Newbie accounts with no post at all. They are really impressive number of account with 0 post count. You won't be deleting any content produced by members that way.

Newbie accounts with no post at all are Brand New. Newbie one have 1+ posts or they had once.  Wink
1006  Other / Meta / Re: User spamming the same post on: February 13, 2015, 04:35:57 PM
First off, excuse me if this is the wrong category to place this in.

User Blazin604 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=302265) seems to be spamming the same post constantly. Is this the right place to report this?

I think the easy way is to use the Report to Moderator link at the bottom of a post. When the report page open you should put a line like this: Duplicate posting in multiple boards. This because Blazin604 apparently violated the No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting it in the local language boards if it's translated) rule.

Edit: If OP wish to grasp forum rules, a good way to do so is reading the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ from mprep.
1007  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie Jail Needed at the earliest on: February 13, 2015, 04:26:00 PM
This forum is going to become a garbage dump soon if the newbie jail is not enforced at once. The number of spam and stupid posts is ballooning alarmingly.

Do something
i agree ,but most newbies have to learn Wink

The hard way, indeed. Usually, most of them learn it before a permaban; however, someone fails and go to hell.  Grin

The member who self moderates his thread could have delete the post just because he doesn't like the post.

It tells you whether it was deleted by a mod or by the op of a self-moderated thread. The two messages we can see say they were removed by staff.

In the end it's very likely the reason for deletion was low quality + signature adsWink

Can anyone explain to me how Bitcoins work? How to safely purchase bitcoins? Also explain to me how they are electronically stored and where?

A search with Google could be an useful thing to do for you. As others here have already said, If you are totally new to the bitcoin then the best thing you can do is watch videos on youtube. Also I suggest you to look the following URLs: http://bitcoin.org/en/faq, https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf, https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/ and https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet.

please someone explain me that...

I think the reason for such deletion could be because they may be posts of low quality content + signature advertising. Basically they appear to be post done only to up post count for revenue. You continue down this road your account may receive a temporary ban due to this reason.

The member who self moderates his thread could have delete the post just because he doesn't like the post.

It's possible...but OP being a newbie with a paid signature let me considering also a possible low quality content + signature advertising reason.
We have seen scores of them before, how could we exclude such a possibility?
1016  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to invest on: February 13, 2015, 02:31:34 PM
Hello im new to this world but i want to invest my money in it.
I read the "whitepaper" and i find bitcoins the next step for the humanity.
I have 500.000 euro to invest and a quite good ideas but i feel like i am needing an hand and partners aswell.
So if someone wants to join.

Sorry for my english it isnt my first language, im italian.

If I had a 500k€ to invest I wouldn't put all of it in BTC since investments' basics call for diversification of assets. However, I would put some € in BTC, maybe 1-2% of the whole portfolio, I would put more weight on real estates; stocks of advertising companies, robotics & AI enterprises as well as of healthcare corporations. I may also put some eggs in Gov't bonds of exporter countries of hydrocarbons and other peak commodities with good enough ratings if available with the right price. Also a medical insurance and a pension plan are worth some consideration.
Also, due to you not having proper command of the English Language, I suggest you to invest some of your money in your own human capital by furthering your knowledge of Shakespeare's Language.

They are known to be the most legitimate members of this forum!

+1. To each of you! Having seen so much newbie scammers here trying hard to separate us from our own money, I cannot disagree with You all on OP probably trying to lure someone in a scam. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and I took seriously the questions he asked in his OP; however, I will not give him any funds from my pocket and I also strongly advise anyone here against giving him any funds.

1018  Other / Meta / Re: Quickseller needs permaban or removed from trustlist on: February 13, 2015, 01:26:00 PM
It seems Quickseller has quickly become the new vod.
I am pretty sure that I have more 'I hate Quickseller' threads then Vod has 'I hate Vod' threads. Although some of them have the same people behind the 'I hate Quickseller' threads

Maybe if the trend go ahead...this could become a manhood challenge: "I have more 'I hate Quickseller' threads then Vod has 'I hate Vod' threads."  Grin
1019  Other / Meta / Re: Is there anyone who can delete trust ratings? on: February 12, 2015, 08:30:33 PM
I would contact theymos about it. If someone is spamming their email address then he will possibly remove the email address from your trust.

My understanding is that the only exception to the policy of no trust moderation is in cases of obvious spam

I'm not sure if this is true, I believe the trust system is mostly left unmoderated except in extreme cases. For example dogie's untrusted feedback is almost entirely pointless spam, yet nothing has been done to remove it, although that might just be because dogie never requested for it to be removed.
i know that Mitchell (bitcoininformation) has said that theymos removed feedback from someone spamming his feedback.

The difference is that doggie has a bunch of baseless claims against him while the OP has an email address that is not claimed to be owned by the OP by the person leaving it. The intent of the feedback left is to get people to contact the person leaving the feedback via email

I don't think it would hurt to ask.

Asking is O.K. but anyone should live with the reply.  Wink
1020  Other / Meta / Re: Is there anyone who can delete trust ratings? on: February 12, 2015, 07:15:56 PM
I just had a look at my ratings and noticed someone used them to advertise. Posted an email address along with an irrelevant message. I was thinking that this could be exploitable since (as fars as I know) mods don't have access to edit or remove trust ratings.

Trust feedback are not moderated. If you want to have the abusive feedback removed by poster you should contact him/her and ask him/her. It's Worth to note that poster gave you only a neutral feedback thus Your rating will not be affected by that person's trust score.
