So BTC is a shit coin today, disabled everywhere  lolz he's saying that probably because he lost money 💵, so don't blame him, anyone can feel that way No he is literally saying it to spread FUD, maybe to manipulate price? . Look at his username. I've seen him do that in TenX ANN thread aswell. I'm sure there's others This guy "scamalert0" is a riot! His entire posting history consists of jumping in and praising a project then, claiming he dumped everything and crying scam. Here is a quick list of the projects/coins he has done exactly this to: TENX, Sphere, Florin, AMP, NXT, COVAL, SYNX, POT, XBC, PIVX, NXC, NAV, XVS, ARDR, FACTOM, VOX and GNT. Network hash is not accurate, look at the pool hash...a lot of miners left. The pool started at over 210 PH yesterday and is now down to 70. and, Market Cap has dropped from 12+ Billion to 8+ Billion as of 8/2 1220 EST. |

My prediction for the near future of Bitcoin:
* transactions will be speedier
* fees will be middle of the road not tiny, and not excessive
*the price will Skyrocket! By October 31 btc will be $3500 and by November $4,000 and beyond.
* Bitcoin cash will plug along, persistent and resilient however it will not see the same values as Bitcoin.

To everyone here yelling "scam" and everything else, you need to learn the facts:
1. ECC is not a scam.
2. The current price is basically meaningless.
3. A totally new wallet is almost ready for release.
4. If you claim to have lost "money", please explain how. If you are holding, continue to do so. If you sold, oh well...
5. The dev is working on the project daily, it takes time to develop a new wallet. This is a total rewrite, not a face lift.
If you are even interested in knowing what's really going on, join the SLACK group where all the action is and you will understand. If you can't be bothered with that then, shut up and sit down, we really don't want to hear your baseless accusations and threats. This project will go on and the patient ones will prosper. The rest of you can go pound sand...

On the subject of who gets what and where the value is held, if a new Devcoin is created I offer this:
It doesn't matter one single bit WHY someone is holding Devcoin or, how they got it, or what they intend to do with it, they should be fairly compensated for their holdings if a new Devcoin is generated and old one losses value do to that.
If I hold a bar of gold, it is still a bar of gold and worth the market price if I choose to use it as a door stop or, place it in a safe deposit box or paint it red and pretend it's brick, it still has the same value and it is still negotiable. Doesn't matter if new gold "bars" are shaped like spheres with little points, my bar still has the same value, once for ounce, as the new one.
I well understand we are not talking about hard assets but, digital ones. Still say old coins for new coins, at fair market, possibly with adjusted quantities if needed, but the coins being held must be honored.
Cryptocurrency is not a gold bar. It even does not exist - you can not "use it as a door stop or, place it in a safe deposit box or paint it red and pretend it's brick". There are enormous number of cryptos with zero value. Look at any exchange - you can see a lot of cryptos for sale for a minimum possible price ( NYC at coingather, for example). All these coins have zero value just from the beginning. If you buy nothing why are you waiting that nothing one day will become something? Devcoin a bit different - the good idea was in place. But it ended up the same way as all other "coins". I have some wallets with millions and millions of all kind of these "shitcoins". Long forgotten ones. I wonder if all these "coins being held" should be honored at all. Dead is dead - end of story. Ah, yea, you repeated what I said, it was an analogy idiot, ever hear of that? So, what's your point? Dead is not permanent in crypto, nothing is truly dead here. I was around for the birth of this coin and I do not want to see it transformed into something it is not. The cynic in me wonders whether the developers dumped their 7 day instamine after pumping prices to $10/coin during the last few months, then took their "break" and bailed on this project, just like the original team. How do we know the team is any different?
The optimist in me read the initial audit, hopes the code is in fact legit, hopes they are just breaking, because they are waiting for the new audit and can't really work on the code. I also think prices will keep dropping while the developers are gone. As Cloakcoin falls from the top 100 coins by market cap (96 now), it will be a good time to buy.
If the technology is legit, it sounds like Cloak will be the most secure and user friendly anonymous crypto out there. I think Monero is very user unfriendly, has major scaling/stability issues, Dash has problems with the premine and isn't really anonymous, PIVX has a stupid name and has the same problems and Zcash isn't really anonymous. Cloak is still the best in theory, but who knows until they open source it?
I still have coins in Cloak, so here's hoping it's a success...
