someone to open a pool? the difficulty has increased a lot since the price went up
No need for a pool, easy to mine with just an old gpu, i use a 5 year old 750ti, works great. Pool will kill it. J

You made a new thread and a new site for a coin that already has an active thread and site...? Smells fishy to me... It's not even like this thread has a new version (Still 1.3) yet for some reason you're hosting the wallet on an entirely new website AND github (when the downloads for the ORIGINAL site and github are intact and working)...? No thanks... My version from the official site is working just fine with Cryptopia, no need to fix what ain't broke... I would advise everyone here to go to the coin's original thread ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512903.0) and download from the official links as well, no telling what may have been added to the wallets being distributed in this thread... I second this. Why are you starting a new thread Mr Newbie, like most older sloth miners i have a huge amount of these coins, so please do not mess with this coin. It works great and so does Cryptopia. I see no reason for any updates On that note, if anyone wants to buy a few mil give me a shout. J

I just came across this coin, checked coinmarketcap, both this and the old thread and couldn't find the total supply of this coin. Would be great if the dev can update the opening thread with this detail.
I think the dev left about 4 years ago J

Can that miner use more than 1 thread/core?
Edit your config.txt: 2 cores "cpu_threads_conf" : [ { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 0 }, { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 2 }, ], 4 cores "cpu_threads_conf" : [ { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 0 }, { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 2 }, { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 4 }, { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 6 }, ], etc... Configured to my i7 as above I get 200 h/s at 50% CPU usage presumably because all 4 physical cores are active. When I enable all 8 cores from 0-7, my CPU is at 100% usage but my hash seems to be limited to around 170 h/s. Is this an expected result seeing the virtual cores take processing time from the physical cores or is this an anomaly? The same for me. I get about 130 h/s at 50% CPU for 4 cores. If set to all 8 - 90 h/s and 100% cpu usage. Not the best miner...but similar wierd results as you. Ryzen 1800X gets 95 h/s 16 threads, but 550h/s 8 threads. go figure About 3 hours got me 37 coins J

Hi, just my thoughts on fees.
I'm in the Uk, and recently tried to buy approx $400 (GBP can't find the pound sign on this linux distro) worth of goods. Now in the this particular case the transaction has to go through Bitpay, so i have desktop wallet, and have to manually copy the address, and amount across, and the wallet recommends a fee based on current network demand. It gives me options such as 10 mins, 20, 40, 60, 2 hours, 4hours, 8 hours, 24 hours, 3 days...etc....at the moment if defaults to fees for the 2 hour slot. Now since Bitpay only gives you a small window for first confirm, i selected 20 mins instead of 2 hours...i cant remember exact fees but it doubles it, over 978 sats i think. Anyway when i went to confirm, the fee equated to over 25 GBP (on a 400 GBP order) Even at this level Bitpay complained that i had selected a @low miner fee@ and 6 hours later the transaction has timed out at their end. So now i have an irreversible transaction. They and the supplier have cancelled the order. So what happens next is i have to contact supplier, ask them for a refund. If i am lucky they will refund, when i get email link i have only 24 hours to collect (great if i am away from emails in a low signal area for a few days), and then the refund i get is minus there miner fees. So i have spent about 50 GBP, wasted 2-3 days, and have no goods.
Now i don't have a crystal ball, but i cannot see how any currency can possibly hope to survive nevermind flourish with such a broken transaction system. In the UK at least, all those transactions firstly would have just gone through, and secondly would have been free.
So what am i saying...please bitcoin people, reduce the fees, the whole original idea was to produce a currency that could be used anonymously, world wide, for everyday transactions.
I don't understand the technicalities of segwit and blocksizes etc, i just know that for survival the system needs a huge overall. I understand the vested interest in high fees for the miners, but that was back in a time of no competition. Look back in history at all the fallen giants (IBM, HP, etc) they all thought they knew best. I love Bitcoin, but it really is time to wake up and get with the modern times. Right now is a huge opportunity for world wide recognition and to ensure its future for the next 20 years. (heck its even making news on every UK TV channel and newspaper - and we dont support BTC over here) Lets not squander that chance.
Reduce fees 10 fold ! and speed up confirm time and lets fly...if not unfortunately i think it will die - as to the whales / miners / greedy manipulators who ever you are...no use having the most expensive petrol in the world, when we are all running on electricity...

Hi, I too can vouch for the mining of this coin. I currently have just over 1000 coins mined by a old core 2 duo desktop pc that a business discarded many years ago, it even had XP on it. I simply upgraded to Win 7, downloaded wallet, and started mining with 2 threads. As for the value of those coins, who knows. I see so many scam coins every single day, but i actually mine all of them because completely out of the blue 1 of them ends up on an exchange at 1 sat, and then 1 week later i get an email saying they are at 18,000 sats, and by the time i get to the exchange they are 20,000 sats (it actually rose to 35,000 before dropping to 300)....that is the completely random nature of crypto coins....it is all luck and a massive gamble...if you want safety, use a bank and a Casino. I for one will keep on with all these new coins, and cross my fingers, and wish them all well. To the future J

We at Bullmining don't have any issues with stratum. We've got lots of orphan blocks yesterday, but the last three we solved were valid and maturing. https://xmg.bullmining.comHi, Suspecting you might have some issue, according to your pool stats i'm going to mine over 750,000 magi today, on my single PC, which would net me over $375,000...whilst i'd love that to be the case, i suspect it's not. Hi there,
Just coming back to Magi after a break for 2-3 months. Using wallet Magi Core version v1.4.4.1 (64-bit), deleted all in folder apart from wallet and .conf, and spent 48 hours letting chain sync. Can see my balance, but when i type "getmininginfo" i an seeing nethash of only 1740 hps, which i know can't be right. "block" is 1597239.
If i use setgeneratetrue 6 my hash is showing, but if i stop that and use my solo miner which worked back in September, i either get "booo" or "rejected". I also see most pools at zero hash.
Is Magi broken again? Which is the correct miner to use now for pool and solo mining ( iseem to remember talk of changing the algo and new miners to stop the bots)
Any help would be greatfully received. Thanks J

Hi,
Is anyone having any success mining to the hppcoin pool. I am using lrya2h algo but am only getting this error
"reject reason: low difficulty share of 9.875215655800113e-8" "factor reduced to : 0.67"
Does anyone have a compiled windows cpu miner that works with the pool please?
I have no idea how the hash rate is at 6MH/s, i have tried using the wallet miner, and it says i am using 32 cpus and 64 threads, but when i do "getmininginfo" the net hash rate is the same when i mine as before i mine, which suggest the wallet is not actually mining, so who is mining and how are they doing it please?
Any ideas? Thanks J

Strangely enough, my claymore works in safemode, but the real question, is why are you running in safemode....? Even if you were to get it to work you wont get the same level of graphics acceleration J

Hi Guys,
I'm running 3 of these, all EVGA SC, Paid less than £70 each, so £206 total i think it was...uses less than 80 watt for all 3, and out performs my 1060 GTX 3GB which cost £220 and uses around 115 watt.
If you look around you can pick them up for less than £60, The EVGA is OK, but it throttles on certain algos (its a low profile design, so not much heat sink). The next batch will be full size, but try to find pics of the actual heat sink, cos under the huge plastic covers some of the heatsinks are very small.... Also they are easy to find 2nd hand, cos a lot of peeps bought them and have found the 2Gb is not enuff for their gaming needs, so i see quite a lot on gumtree going for £20-£35. Don't get me wrong, they are certainly not a "beast" of a card, but at the right price a simple introduction to mining. Besides i like having 3 instead of 1, cos i usually set 2 mining 2 diff coins, and that leaves the 3rd card for me to test new coins... J
