Any news? Will this miner be updated anytime soon?
There is a rumor that the developer is not more in the thema. Also he has a big quantity in his wallet that hasn't move for a long time... you should think in make a swap of miner or soon will not be able to mine ETH... Now you cannot ETC and in a pair of weeks eth too... have a look to lolMiner for example, great for both Nvidia and AMD, more in AMD but also works perfectly in mix Rigs That's really too bad. The application was working quite well up to this point. I'm getting the notion that lolminer sounds like a replacement a lot of people are pointing to. Can you point out the best place to get the app as well as best config settings? I tried many and needed some help to get the command line just right to get my best rate. Doubting I can use the same commands in lolminer Down about 5 threads below this one is official lolminer thread.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4724735.0

To OPs original question Claymore still works just fine...i suggest a linux os. My Ethos rigs running claymore are still running today even on 4gb cards on eth. I do expect that to change and will move to new miner for other coin on 4gb rigs.

This goes in POOL sub channel not in mining thread. I have asked a mod to relocate it for you.

Right. I'm looking at cards now and based on models that I see people recommending, it could be 4 or 5 grand just to get a handful of them. And though that board can fit 13 cards, there is a note saying windows 10 only supports 8 for now... I'm wondering if some of those mining-specific OS somebody mentioned overcomes that? Does that get installed instead of windows? Honestly I'm not savvy at all on things like Linux or mac. I'm a windows guy pretty much only. So I guess a question to consider, is spending $5k to mine 8 or so ETH in a year, or just spend $5k to buy 8 or so ETH and then go play angry birds LOL.
Here's another detail I haven't been able to sort out in my reading on this topic. Say I do build up to 8 GPUs on a rig. Are they are synced together and functioning as 1 miner, or are they all 8 independent miners? Do they all work on the same coin or are you able to do a couple on this coin and a couple on that coin, etc... ? (I understand in general, that different coins fall under different algorithms, though I haven't really made a list of those to help me out yet. I need to. )
Yes get a mining os based on linux. most will run off a thumbdrive. no problem to run 13 gpus. you wont need a hard drive and most will work in 4 or 8gb total ram. Some like mmpos will let you mix cards or all same team...no problem. Why people insist of windows....its ok if your using your gaming machine to mine when not gaming...but for rigs...go linux or go home.

Ok, thank you for the feedback. Definitely would be primarily to cut my teeth on, and trying to take advantage of some hardware already laying around. But if it's just a big step backwards, then maybe it's not worth going that route. Thank you for giving me that side to consider.
You can try one of the many linux based mining OS's that run from the thumbdrive mmpos / hive / simple / rave etc. I dont know about all of them but mmpos doesnt charge any fees for up to 8 gpus ...ever. Would be trivial to get the board mining most likely. If it is too old for those...Ethos can probably handle it but it is not free or as easy to use as some of the more modern up to date mining OS.

you: but I dont know how to disable auto-tune = -gt 0
Yeah, on win it`s easy I don`t know if I can use "flags -gt 0" will disable auto-tune ! I`ll try tomorrow You are using miner-manager https://github.com/cynixx3/third-party-miner-installer-for-ethosto install phoenixminer and get it to properly show up in panel / etc. Ive not seen any ill effect to auto-tune but you can use flags easy enough in your local config (or if using remote config change there for the rig) after you have installed miner-manager with the command lines from near the bottom of the page (2 lines to execute) You will do : miner-manager phoenixminer install once install of miner is complete edit your local.conf globalminer phoenixminer phoenixminer=flags -gt 0 So for phoenixminer i have this set. --->. phoenixminer=flags -mode 1 -proto 3 -wdtimeout 300 Let me know if that solves it for you

Anyone unlock colorful p104-100? Tried a few of the firmware listed in this thread but won't flash. Even the colorful firmware listed on techpowerup won't flash.
I get:
WARNING: Firmware image PCI Subsystem ID (10DE.1237) does not match adapter PCI subsystem ID (7377.0000)
Any advice is appreciated.
JJ
For my Zotac i use.... 1 CMD as admin 2. nvflash64 --protectoff 3. nvflash64 -6 "MyRomName".rom Thanks, that allowed the update and I see the 8Gb; however, only getting 20 mh (+700 mem / 65% power) on phoenix miner. Windows? If so grab one of the mining linux based OS that you can stick on thumbdrive. I prefer mmpOS and for 8 gpus or less it wont cost a thing to try and use. Others are HiveOS, SimpleOS, RaveOS and plenty more im sure i missed. Currently getting 27mhs out of mine on mmpos

Hello. How can I set OC in Ethos ? I want to disable auto-tune and set my own OC settings ! I don`t use ./phoenixminer to start miner ... I use only local.conf file
globalminer phoenixminer stratumproxy enabled proxywallet 0xf1396cbxxxxxxxxxx proxypool1 eth.2miners.com:2020 poolpass1 x
And OC strings are good ?
cor xxxx xxxx mem xxxx xxxx dpm xxxx xxxx
cor (rig id) oc oc oc oc with rig id = 6 digit hexidecimal number of rig (get either from rig or from web page monitor) oc = core you want for 570/580 1150 is a good start same with mem (rig id) and the oc for each card seperated by space. i would start with say 2100 for 570/580. Dpm isnt really used but set it to 5 for each card also vlt (rig id) 851 851 875 for vlt settings above = 0.851v hope it helps.

When I heard that they were going to reduce the DAG so 3GB or higher can mine again, I assumed that it all that they would do. However it seems that the algo is slightly different. Nicehash basically dropped ETC support all together because they didn't want buyers of hash to be stuck with nothing but invalid shares and all Daggerhashimoto ASICs won't work since there is a slight difference in the algo.
I don't understand why they don't allow ASICs to mine, especially the E3. The E3 are going to stop mining ETH pretty soon and would do good security the ETC network. I don't think there are millions of them in Chinese warehouses that poses as a 51% attack threat. Anyways its sad to here that E3 is finally a door stop. Probably going to see tons of these on eBay and Craiglist now.
Mess provides security against 51% hash. Conside how many 4gb gpus will be on ETC once ETH dag is too big. I think ETC is about to see a big jump overall. Time will tell.

Well they did it once (firmware update) for eth. the new etc algo can be mined with 3gb so i don't see why they wouldn't at least consider another update to allow it to mine etc rather than just let it become a garage heater and/or doorstop.
It wont...not how it works. The memory saving software changes were possible. The major change to the algo will not be softwqre fixable.

My e3 with updated firmware just stopped mining eth today. Anyone know if a new firmware update will be available for new etc algo etchash?
The changes to ETC should prevent the E3 from mining it.

Start Daily Report in twitter: https://twitter.com/HacashPoolAnd will sync here as well. Because, for me this hacashpool is not good to my device at all. And does this Hacash is already list in the exchange? just at thought only. Why will your PC be at risk or can be harm? No centralized exchange listing yet. We published eHAC swap draft in HacashPool group for testing purpose before the official announcement in public. Everyone can begin their trade by contacting @hacswap on Twitter to swap your $HAC to $eHAC or to provide liquidity in Uniswap.
Any feedback is valuable.

Feel free to post any coins/algos you know that can be profitably mined with 2GB GPUs! Thanks
Forget about it. Better look for used 4-6 GB video cards on the market and get good profit. Outdated video cards will not bring you profit, I do not even want to write about the reasons, because they are obvious. 3gb graphics card still have a chance with Ethereum Classic modified algorithm called ETChash, I don't know how ETC team did it but 3gb gpu works very well without running out of DAG file, I've tried with a single gtx1060 3gb zotac version and it works, ETC team aren't bluffing on this one It is simple hot ETC did it...they simply reduced the DAG size from more than 4gb to 2.5gb ... nothing mysterious about it.

Quick reminder...only PhoenixMiner is where you get updates for PhoenixMine.
Scammers try to link new versions they claim are ne releases...It is malware.
Do not fall for scammers....only download from posts from PM himself. Or any other miner dev. Never from some rando user.

Well that is your answer something not right with mrr.
Dont use it. Problem solved.

Yes try risers your motherboards pcie bus is probably overloaded with 3 physical gpus plugged in. you can run them all on risers which is much easier on the motherboard.

Thanks for all the helpful advice. This community is great! I went ahead and found that hynix memory so I went and did a bios mod to change the timing. 1500 > Straps I believe. Then I set gpu to 1200 and 2200/880mv and it's getting 31.57MH now. I am getting some rejections. I've had it running for a while and its something like 770 accepts to 10 rejects. Anyone have any ideas as to why I'm getting those rejects? Again, thanks for all the help and support especially New_order, FP91G, and OasisDre. That memory tidbit was extremely helpful. I thought flashing the bios would be difficult, but it wasn't bad at all.
Try lowering the core by 50 or 55. If no better the same with the memory.

hi, pls help, how to use PhoenixMiner command in ethOS i try "-daglim 3990" on ethos local config, but not working, my rx 570 4GB still not mining ... There's no need to do anything in Linux. I use hiveOS for my 4GB cards and they mine at full speed. Even better than before due to rxboost... On ethos there is no need for that just set your miner to phoenixminer. Use miner-manager (link is on your rig monitor page for your miners). Install miner-manager then you can easily install latest version. My 570 4gbs are all mining away on eth still.

ETC deposits work. Most exchanges have a high number of confirms to protect against 51% attack. The co nfirmations are coming down as exchanges get comfortable with MESS protection against 51%. And yes deposits work...look on block explorer for ETC and you can see the transaction. Its what immutable record means.

Nice but the price is a way to high, it will never touch the roi in my opinion.
Only take 8+ years to get your money back. SUCH A DEAL...not.
