Did not understand why the mods just decided to delete the topic and leaving the user free?
1063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Private blockchains solution? on: January 03, 2019, 10:42:33 PM

Private blockchain is a sales discourse and a hype. It is very common in IT sector, using buzz words for marketing purposes. Corporates and organizations also love this stuff and are happy to pay for it because they can use it in PR material to tell stories about being high tech and avangard.

I guess this is the source of problem, something that should not used word blockchain is getting marketed as blockchain.
My source of knowledge was from IBM Blog

Quote
A private blockchain network requires an invitation and must be validated by either the network starter or by a set of rules put in place by the network starter. Businesses who set up a private blockchain, will generally set up a permissioned network. This places restrictions on who is allowed to participate in the network, and only in certain transactions. Participants need to obtain an invitation or permission to join. The access control mechanism could vary: existing participants could decide future entrants; a regulatory authority could issue licenses for participation; or a consortium could make the decisions instead. Once an entity has joined the network, it will play a role in maintaining the blockchain in a decentralized manner.

But apart from this article, look like everybody conveniently changed the private blockchain definition to their wishes which conform to "neither decentralized nor immutable and not consensus based. " making a joke on blockchain definition.

1065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Private blockchains solution? on: January 03, 2019, 08:52:13 PM
I don't see any point of using blockchain for private usage, just use distributed and encrypted database which already exist & AFAIK it performs better than blockchain.

Blockchain is supposed to be decentralized ,distributed and immutable .Private blockchain just mean that not everybody can take part in changing or accessing the records, but it still be following all the principles of blockchain with participating nodes.
Database is still not decentralized and immutable.
1066  Other / Meta / Re: A different approach to solving the sig spamming problem. on: January 03, 2019, 05:25:42 AM
On a side note, Do you guys think only signature is a problem?
Because I think I read many useless post where do not have signature or there is no financial motive that can be proved.

Signature or no Signature , I guess most has taken this forum has money making machine/job board and they want to remain connected even by posting shit.

Actual question is how to stop this shit? I guess few step that can help.

1. Mailing a rule book for using this forum.
2.Few more moderators or automatic system that do not allow you to create a shit thread , reporting it as duplicate or out of context.
3. Automatic locking of threads if it cross certain page or one month of inactivity.

If shit occurs in sensible thread then we will use "Report To Moderator" button.
1067  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have been hacked... what now? on: January 03, 2019, 05:02:45 AM
Gone through the XRP chat and people there also look puzzled. There guess is the 24 word seed is get leaked to the hacker or since OP purchased device from the ebay so hacker already tampered the device.
1068  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: looking for work on: January 03, 2019, 04:42:54 AM
First requirement of job is to create a resume/portfolio that you can showcase. Keep this always handy and make sure that all of your claims should be verifiable.
Second step: Upload/Post your resume in the job market places and I see people already discussed the options/site available for applying.
Third Step:  Look daily to spot/grab an opportunity.

I also find some discussion going on thread  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090724.msg48939893#msg48939893 . I am sure will get something useful for you in that thread.

Do not tell me that I have to login to your site for browsing the goods.

I think however brief  word is not required. Any reply from an expert is good enough. If they give detailed reply it will be cherry on top.

conversely though do you think we can put negative if the person is capable of a complex post that provides great insight but only to those at his level or above??  no perhaps we should not put this as negative because it still has great info for the more trained or capable in that area.

No,  I guess Einstein "Theory of Relativity"  is perfect example where very few understood it at that time but it does not decrease its importance.
Even for "bitcoin" we still have hard time to explain who already decided it as ponzi.
1071  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Social Journalism - CoinScribble on: January 02, 2019, 02:59:52 AM

CoinScribble, by nature, is anonymous. This is a big factor in differentiating CoinScribble from other sites like Steemit or Medium. Authors that wish to claim their work include their information within the article.

Steemit is currently governed by bid bots and I have no idea of Medium but definitely it is not crypto dedicated. So some good blog site dedicated to crypto giving amateur writer  some exposure is good. Till then author can claim authorship in article but if you give profile then any body can see list of all article of author in one go.

For clarification, that 1 million number (which is actually closer to 2 million now) is the reach of our entire distribution network, not just CoinScribble.com. If you were to post on CoinScribble, your content would be immediately shared to all of the sites in our partner network (list of sites here). This number also doesn't include the reach of Google News which some (but not all) CoinScribble content is also distributed by.

Got it now.

1073  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Block Chain courses on Udemy on: January 01, 2019, 04:04:41 AM
I haven't but If you're going with C# then this is probably one of the best resources you should read: https://programmingblockchain.gitbook.io/programmingblockchain

It's very detailed and also has code samples and available in multiple languages.

Any resource for C/C++ developer?
1074  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Social Journalism - CoinScribble on: January 01, 2019, 03:57:50 AM

100% free, no personal information needed, and no strings attached.

All content is uncensored and an upvote/downvote system ensures poor content is removed and valuable content is visible.

Relying fully on upvote/downvote system does not look good choice. Better to check articles manually when they hit 1000 upvotes/downvotes just to avoid paid shill.

Anonymous Authorship
Did we mention FREE?

Did you option of creating profile there and claim the authorship if some body want to?
I did not registered but read a few and look like no body claim authorship.

We've had a big week in terms of distribution partnerships and growth. We are being added to new aggregators every day and content posted to CoinScribble is now shared to just shy of 1 Million viewers every month.

Thank you everyone for the support!

How you get this 1 million figure because alexa and similarweb are not agreeing to you.

PS:You have done a good job , a very simple but elegant website and I am impressed by your overall work and thought process.
1075  Other / Meta / Re: What makes a post a HQ post. What makes a post a LQ post. ? merit - lets see?? on: January 01, 2019, 01:18:32 AM
I guess it also depends upon the knowledge of user also. For example if I write "Good Project" then it will be LQ but if same thing written by Satoshi will be a stamp that no one will deny. LQ/HQ are directly identified by user knowledge on the subject.
LQ involves copying the article and providing the source while HQ involve comprehending the article and initiating the discussion on Pros and cons.
LQ involves just reading and replying to the OP while HQ involve reading OP and all other replies and replying to add the things that are missing in thread.

A curious question:

Does plagiarism ban cause evil ip fees?
Or in other words which type of ban/activities attract evil IP fees?

1078  Other / Meta / Re: Forum suggestion for countering low quality on: December 31, 2018, 03:01:38 AM
I don't understand why many people relate poor quality / shitposts /spam posts to newbies or lower rank members. this is 100% wrong.

why would you limit a newbie who has a huge amount of knowledge just because he recently joined the forum?

look around the technical and series discussion, you will be amazed , many members who joined recently are top notch geeks.

allow everyone to post, let the members decide who is worthy and who is not,  by merting and commenting on quality posts.

+1
Few of the discussion are so top notch that I am not even able to understand them. They just come, create a topic, Discuss/take suggestions and leave the forum.  Not allowing to newbie to create a topic in this case is loss for the forum.

I also noticed that very few people have any kind of signature in that board including moderators gmaxwell and achow101.

Actual problem of spam will be controlled by effectively using the "Report to Moderator" , temporary banning accounts creating spam and not allowing the rank below Member to bump up the topics.
1079  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Motivation] A little extra effort will pay you in long run on: December 30, 2018, 09:55:07 AM
bump.
1080  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the purpose of report button? on: December 30, 2018, 09:52:51 AM
You can report plagiarism too (if you feel comfortable writing all the details in submit report) it will cause permanent ban to user.
You can report the post and put all the duplicate post created by user, it will cause removal of all duplicate post . In same way you can report all spam post of user to be removed and I guess it might bring temp ban to user.
You can report the post having referrals link and those post will be removed and you can use this button requesting mod to move the topic to the desired board.

1 button multiple functions Smiley
