1061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is this still possible today? on: November 21, 2019, 11:09:18 AM
I just find out that some coins might start with very low volume and marketcap and end up growing big? true or false? i tracked back some old coins that start with trading volume around 6k and end up in millions, is this still possible today?

Right now the possibility is very low because of the market conditions, even well known coins are struggling right now so the possibility for new coins to start a low volume and end up to millions is likely 0-5% out of 100%.

There are promising projects out there that can do this but this happening is likely to happen in the peak of the market and not like the market right now that is almost at the bottom.
1062  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Year 2020 expectations on: November 21, 2019, 04:09:50 AM
New upcoming projects are targeting 2020 either for good market season or because of the upcoming bitcoin halving, they want to avoid loses that is plaguing crypto space at all cost, even good projects of this year had hard time gathering needed fund and the lucky ones managed to reach softcap, what do you think about year 2020? will it be a very good year for IEO and bounty hunters?

If it will be a good year for IEO then the bounty hunters will benefit also but that question is very difficult to answer as we cannot really predict what will happen in 2020.

Many are predicting that the first quarter the market will start to recover and once the market will start to recover, the projects will also start launching especially the IEO's. Let's just see whether the market can recover in 2020 or not.
1063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: November 21, 2019, 02:52:32 AM
I like to share my story being a crypto enthusiast, a trader and an investor at the same time.

I started in this forum in year 2015 when altcoins are still a good investment and Binance is still not the most popular exchange in the market.
I trade with Poloniex most of the time, sometimes I trade with Bittrex but then I realize that I am not so profitable with trading since I cannot focus on it due to the reason that i have a day job to prioritize.

Therefore, I started to invest for long term and I was entice by how the market moves and I was so optimistic that long term could really change my life.
So to make the story short, I invested with different altcoins and have help it until now.

Now, when the bull run comes, I still couldn't sell right away as I was getting greedy thinking I could earn more when I still hold.
of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.

And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

So top 10 of my portfolio consist of the following based on my blockfolio.

1) Atlant
2) Edgeless
3) Centra
4) Humaniq
5) Matchpool
6) Lunyr
7) KIN
8.) FUEL
9) SONM
10)NPXS

Please tell me if I should still expect I will be profitable or just give up now already.

You are not a fool if you believe in the word hold but you should also consider the right time to sell. They are the key factors to become successful in the current market movements as it is like up and downs therefore if you buy while the market goes down and hold it then you can sell it in the peak of the market.

You will surely profit from your investment. Don't be greedy or it will eat you whole and your investment will turn to dust in the long run.
1064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM ICOs, what we can do? on: November 21, 2019, 02:11:31 AM
Hi, recently so many past-ICOs turned into a scam or a deadcoin.
Is there anything what we can do to punish them? More than 2 years ICOs are scamming us and still people are investing, is this really a world what we want to create?
It's pretty difficult to punish them but flagging them will be good so we can alert all the incoming investors to stay away from them as they will only run away their money.

But if you have any means that we can punish those bastards then it will be best if you will drop it here so they will learn their lessons not to do it again. And for us to lessen those scammers and shit projects that pop up from nowhere.
1065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Easiest Way to Make Money with Crypto? on: November 21, 2019, 01:25:12 AM
As of now, there are various cryptocurrencies with unique features that enables people to earn some money along the way. Most cryptocurrencies are PoS-based which allows anyone to earn money depending on the number of coins held on the wallet. I've toppled across several PoS coins that are highly rewarding, yet extremely risky because of the constant flux of prices within the crypto market.

On the other hand, mineable coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum are also highly rewarding, but somewhat complicated to get ahold of if you're not accustomed with setting up miners on your own. The cloud mining approach seems to be much easier than mining at home, but most of the services available today are complete scams. Signature campaigns are a great way to make some money with crypto, but are not easy as they sound (since you're required to make quality posts over time).

Which is why, I want to know what's the easiest way to make money with crypto today? Any recommendations or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Smiley

The easiest way to earn money in crypto today is to use your skills and render your services in exchange with crypto currencies. You can do it in bounty campaigns like, translator, youtube, blog and aside from that if you have good skills you can also use it to create signature codes that pays better also.

If you have further skills, being a developer is the great option for you or a marketing manager because you can easily gather good amount of profit from it. Being a bounty manager is also a choice but you need to gather some experience to it before you can compete to other managers.
1066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top Terms People Use in Cryptocurrency on: November 20, 2019, 04:21:32 AM
Well!! Did you know? the top crypto terms people use in crypto market, one must know in order to understand the crypto space
HOLD, FUD, To the moon, Bagholder, ATH and many more.

What's your point of view on this?

HODL is the common term for hold here in the forum, at first I am shocked also about the terms that were used here as I have no idea what it is.

But as the time passes by and continue reading or being active in the forum, I became more familiar with the terms that were use here. Especially the big whales, when moon, fud, hodl, lambo and etc.
1067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to prepare for long term HODL on: November 20, 2019, 02:19:37 AM
Note: This is not about how to identify good coins to HODL
This is about how you can be a good long term holder

1. You must have another source of income
Either in crypto space or outside crypto space you must have other source of income, there was a time when i used to rely on coins i hold for monthly income but most time they failed me because some altcoins takes more than a month to add value. You can learn trading or find a better job to get constant income for your daily needs.

2. Not all altcoins are good for long term holding
Some altcoins are too weak to have better value overtime, these coins only add value to price once in a blue moon,WHY?because the power of demand is too low and they have no working product,i belief that working product is what makes a coin have many more investors

3.HODL Only Altcoins With Real Use Case
There are different categories of coins with use cases, many use case are weak use case, for example using fashion  designer to back a token is a weak use case to me because it means you can only use the token to buy the designer wears and many will call this a real use case? no it wont do very well.
Make sure that the real use case of every altcoins you hold will be very reasonable, the products backing them up must be something that is different and will catch the eye of investors, the usefulness  must be outstanding .

4. Stay Updated Always
Opportunity comes but once as many know it,so always stay updated about crypto, read crypto news online and keep tracks on your altcoins so that you wont miss future updated or even token swaps, some altcoins i hold have already switched to MainNet and im glad i dont missed the opportunity, you can use blockfolio app to track your altcoins.

Altcoin season is what many are waiting for, even new projects are waiting for altcoin season to return before they get listed on exchanges,im sure of one thing and that is good things dont come easily, today is bitcoin turn to reign and one day altcoins will have its day as well.

For a long term holder it will be best that you are using the extra money of your wallet in order to make sure that you can hold for countless of years. It is like a saving so you can play with it safely without worrying of your daily needs.

This is the common problem of other holders, they are using their main money for investing so most of them cannot wait for the right time to sell as they will surely need the money if they are out of it for their daily needs. What I can add to your suggestions, is they need to be patient and make sure that they will not listen to useless fuds that are spreading everywhere so they can sell their investments in the right time.
1068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for a Developer To Take Over a Dead Project on: November 20, 2019, 01:53:16 AM
Hello I'm looking for someone to takeover a dead/dying project please send me a message so we may discuss further thanks.

It's quite unusual to wake up a dead project just to relaunch it and gather some funds again to the investors? If it is dead already, it will best if you leave it there so it cannot harm further the image of our crypto society.

But if you are sincere with what you are up to, then it will be better if you will create a new and unique project that will benefit both the crypto society and the investors. Not only for yourself and the team members behind the project.
1069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Simple idea on: November 20, 2019, 01:25:38 AM
Hi fellas, i want to drop this info mainly for newbies on this forum that just start getting familiar with crypto wallets, i was waiting for some tokens to get delivered into my coinomi wallet since a month ago but they never appeared but the projects teams claim its been sent but guess what? i decided to track my address last night using Etherscan and i saw all the tokens there, sometimes your tokens might have arrived in your wallet but you won't know until you track your wallet address or you manually add token contract address, thank you.

This is the common mistakes of newbies also, it will be best that you should always open a tab where you can always see the history of your transactions and the tokens that came and goes out to your wallet especially if it can be track by etherscan.

That is the fastest way to check all your tokens because sometimes the new tokens are not listed yet in any wallet and you need to add them manually in order to see your balance of that certain tokens, most of this scenario are erc20 tokens.

1070  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please help us understand your priorities when investing in Crypto on: November 20, 2019, 12:46:36 AM
Hi guys

We would like to ask your help by filling out this brief questionnaire regarding your priorities when investing in Crypto.

In the end we would like to use this information to help us shape an Alt coin offering. You can fill it out anonymously or leave your email if you would like more information once the project comes closer to fruition.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdsCBWFgWOsCyW5EM6ZUz-ERrnC_Z0GqrTe2zzjJp_iEdfngQ/viewform

Thanks in advance and feel free to leave any comments or questions in thread
The questions are pretty simple with 3 options to choose only but I am curious whether you are really going to use the data that you have gathered for your incoming launch of alt coin offering.

Because the question is very simple, there are chances that 50% of the answers are made without reading the questions or understanding it at all so I am a little bit worried about the overall results. But the idea is great by the way.
1071  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking answers can help on: November 19, 2019, 03:35:15 AM

This is a great guidance for the newbies that will try to venture in investing new project so they can decide whether that certain project has been tag already as scam or not.

Many of the newbies forget this important steps which is to venture the boards of the forum that can help them gather especial information's like scam projects, good projects to invest, rules and regulations and etc.
1072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: waiting for altcoin season might take time on: November 19, 2019, 01:37:43 AM
I never expected anything to be easy maybe thats why i dont get worried about present market price

The first time i decided to invest in crypto was after the last bullrun of 2017 and i knew that 2017 was a big chance and i missed it since i never entered this space very earlier before the bullrun so after bear market takes over what comes straight to my mind was 'its never going to be easy to see a big change in market movement  like 2017'and since then i just keep my head up and find other means of living yet i cant do without investing in coins and tokens, the next altcoin season might not come anytime sooner but only those who are in hurry will be in pain, its never going to be that easy.

You hit it correctly, the bear market will surely takes a little bit longer especially that the market right now is not moving at all. 2017 is the chance for everyone and hitting that cycle again will take some time and if you have no patience then it's better that you should stay low in order to lessen the risk.

Right now, buying and stocking currencies is the best choice and let it rest until we hit the peak of the market again as the cycle is like up and down but the problem is we don't know when it will up or goes down. So patience is very important.
1073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think all crypto is scam on: November 19, 2019, 01:15:51 AM
First there is an announcement, then there is 3 year Roadmap,
extended each year with meaningless additions, fake recruiting of
employees, trade interrupts, software announcements, wallet updates, changes
quizes, games, givaways, airdrops, forks, ICOs etc, etc, etc.

I've seen several coins with great tech which is perfectly quick and secure, anonymous (or not) and safe.
They all have mobile wallets and wallets for every OS.
Despite this fact they cannot be adopted. Nobody wants to use them, there is no real need for them.
A team of good programmers could develop a blockchain which can replace banks and paper money
in a month. Another month for testing and another month for setting up nodes across the globe.
The main point behind all this is: who controlls these programmers?

Voilla. it is that easy. That is why I think all these announcements and Roadmaps are bullshit.

I am also curious about it, but I guess programmers are acting base on how much you have paid to them. If they are being paid to do that kind of stuff then the one who hire them has the control over the programmers, still there is a possibility that the programmers can manipulate the programs that they made anytime they like.

You have your point but I cannot agree with it that all crypto is scam as there are few that can certainly remain and maybe has the future to become the main currencies in the future.
1074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Criminals got balls because no COP or law to tackle them on: November 19, 2019, 12:51:53 AM
I read people's post on this forum saying even if regulations find its way to crypto space scams will never seize to exist and they keep comparing it to real life criminals even when we have COPS ,POLICE FBI, COURTS crime rate is still increasing, well this is my answer to all of you, in crypto space we don't have COPs or Police to hunt down scammers, accepted, but what do you think will happen if there is no cops, police, courts in real life? criminal activities will grow alot with no boundaries, it will be the same thing with crypto space, if there are laws that can jail scammers at least they will start hiding and there will be FEAR, unlike when there is nothing to fear off scammers now, scammers have too much freedom compare to real life criminals where there is something to tackle them.

There is still justice in crypto space especially if the hacker will be traced, he will surely be sentenced and jailed. But if the hackers will be able to hide all of it's footprints after the attack then no one can pursue him.

But it's not easy to be a hacker, as there are different type of hackers also. Black hat for criminal activities and white hat that test the security of your website or fight the black hat hackers attempt.
1075  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reality of tokens on: November 18, 2019, 01:53:41 AM
So regarding the fact that what it takes to create a token for example an ERC 20, i ahve found a gig on Fiverr.
Check the link.
https://www.fiverr.com/wedowo/create-your-ico-website-and-erc20-token?context_referrer=search_gigs&source=top-bar&ref_ctx_id=34a69322-cdbf-40a4-98e6-b9f51a1be52f&pckg_id=1&pos=3&context_type=auto&funnel=657f18cb-30b9-4ede-a7f7-139b402768ed

Seller is creating an ICO website as well as the token for just 50$. So your basic invetsment is 50$, Now you just need to do marketing by just making a telegram group and launching a scam bounty scheme and give members greed to give 10% commissions. And you are ready to scam people.
People choose these scammers to scam them and thats all. Not saying that all of the tokens are of this type but most of them are of indeed.

These can be use into positive also especially if you have the idea of the product already but you don't have the skills to create or launch a token. But if your intention is to scam people in the first place, this will damage the image of crypto currencies further so it will be best if this kind of opportunity will be grab by good people.

Creating a token right now is very simple especially if it is an ERC 20, therefore there are plenty of shit projects out there that were launch for their own benefits and have a no concrete goal of a project.
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Will You Do To Recover Bitcoin? on: November 18, 2019, 01:08:54 AM
In 2010, you came across a site that was giving away bitcoins. The site said it was free money so you signed up. You were logging in to figure out how it was money but couldn't. The last time you logged in you had more than 100 bitcoins. Later you forgot about the site until 2017 when a ponzi was advertising Bitcoin. Bitcoin? The name rang a bell and you stated hearing stories. You remembered you must have many bitcoins  somewhere but you can't even remember the name of the site. How would you recover your BTC?

It's quite difficult to solve this kind of problem as it's a matter of memory loss while losing your bitcoins that worth's almost a million dollar base on the current price but more than a million dollars last 2017.

If I were in this kind of scenario, I will do everything to recover it. First, I will check whether the computer that I use is still there and dig up it's history in case it is still there. Or I will hire some tech addict to do the digging and will give a huge reward if they can recover it.
1077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The welfare costs of Bitcoin on: November 18, 2019, 12:37:49 AM
the cryptocurrency is not only extremely expensive in terms of its mining costs, but also inefficient in its long-run design. However, the efficiency of the Bitcoin system can be significantly improved by optimizing the rate of coin creation and minimizing transaction fees. Another potential improvement is to eliminate inefficient mining activities by changing the consensus protocol altogether. So there is the possibility of replacing PoW by a proof-of-stake (PoS) protocol which can strictly dominate
PoW and even support immediate and final settlement. There are many fundamental issues of a PoS protocol still need to be sorted out and remains much to be learned about the economic potential and the efficient, economic design of blockchain technology.

Bitcoin has stopped it's development already as the founder or the creator abandoned it without revealing their identities so it's pretty difficult to say that bitcoin can still be upgraded to what you are pointing out.

Bitcoin will remain to what it is right now if no one from the development team will show even if it is extremely expensive in terms of it's mining costs. We cannot do a thing about it anymore.
1078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we can introduce bitcoin to local people on: November 17, 2019, 11:41:38 PM
One day, I think to myself about how to spreads bitcoin to other people. After I create threads https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5191717.0, I see many of us don't try or don't have time to come into a gathering or make a meetup. So how we can introduce bitcoin to local people in our country if we are not trying to tells them about bitcoin? I know that will related to the regulations in every countries but we can introduce to our close friend so they will spread it into their closest friends too.

And if this is succeed, I think cryptocurrency will grow step by step. I know we can spread bitcoin online, but that doesn't mean all people in your country are aware of bitcoin. How they can know bitcoin if they never use the internet to search the news while we can tell them about bitcoin and another coin by offline.

Right now, introducing bitcoin to local people is not that easy as our technology is not that advance yet. Once our technology will become so advance in the future then that is the time that introducing bitcoin to local people is not that hard especially if they have background about modern technology already and a cashless environment.

But if we will start introducing bitcoin to our friends, families and interested individuals then we can start slowly by introducing bitcoin to locals as I am sure that those who benefits from bitcoin will surely spread the good benefits of it to others.
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Informed is Your Country's Police About Crypto? on: November 17, 2019, 10:57:34 PM
In my country, I see many sites that are Bitcoin ponzi and scams. These thrive because the police put in little effort in tacking them. I like the awareness being created by the Indian police. What is the awareness level of law enforcement about crypto in your country? If All Police Officers are Trained in Crypto... https://www.cryptoinfowatch.com/indian-police-train-officers-on-cryptocurrency/

In our country, most of the police have no knowledge about crypto currencies. What they know only are ponzi schemes and bitcoin trading scams, they don't know more about crypto currencies.

Because in here, if we talk about bitcoin most of the mindset of the police and other victims of bitcoins trading scams. Bitcoin is a type is a type of scam, they didn't even bother digging what is bitcoin that is why they easily fall to the hands of the scammers.
1080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is wasting electricity and are harmful to the environment.. Yea right!!! on: November 17, 2019, 08:43:24 AM
So, we all know everyone is going on and on about Bitcoin mining wasting lots of electricity and how this is harmful to the environment, but have we ever considered how harmful other payment methods are?

Visa and MasterCard have about 65 million customers <old statistic> and we also have debit cards from Banks and also other payment cards like American Express and Diners Club etc. A lot of these cards are replaced once every year and it is made from material that are very harmful to the environment.

Cards are made of several layers of plastic laminated together. The core is commonly made from a plastic resin known as polyvinyl chloride acetate (PVCA). This resin is mixed with opacifying materials, dyes, and plasticizers to give it the proper appearance and consistency. - Source : http://www.madehow.com/Volume-4/Credit-Card.html

The average American has 2 to 3 credit cards and there were 304 million Visa credit cards in circulation in the United States and 545 million Visa credit cards in circulation outside of the United States in September 2014. Source : https://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/market-share-statistics.php

There are about 189 million Americans adults with at least one credit card.

In Q4 <2014> cards in circulation looked like this :

Citigroup -    109,774,131

JPMorgan - 93,847,656

Bank of America - 79,822,686

Capital One - 63,194,228

American Express - 54,900,000

Discover - 43,630,772

Synchrony - 31,030,786

Wells Fargo - 24,271,107

Barclays Delaware Holdings - 16,156,368

U.S. Bancorp - 14,440,681

So, looking at some of the statistics and considering that those cards must be manufactured with the use of electricity and also destroyed and ending up in landfills, then I would say Bitcoin's carbon footprint must be minuscule compared to this industry.

Feel free to add some updated statistics and also a graphical presentation of what those millions of cards would look like, if you had them all together. We would circle the earth a couple of times, if we had all the cards that were manufactured, since it was introduced many years ago.  Roll Eyes

You are really digging into something about the disadvantages of the two and I hate to say that cards are really something that can harm the environment compared to bitcoin that we are only using the electricity to mine them and few powerful rigs.

If crypto currencies will become the man currency then all the cards will be set aside and we can lessen the pollution that it can bring to our society.
