1081  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chinese police arrest 15,000 for Internet crimes on: August 20, 2015, 02:23:30 PM
The state can control the media and the Internet but can't control the minds and consciousness of its citizens.

Wrong. Mind can be, and used to be controlled. Here in the west by the mass media and social justice warrior groups, in China by the mass media and the police. Actually if the punishment is swift and deterrent enough most people going to control their own minds, and the rest will be useful for reminding the majority what will happen if they stop doing so.
1082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Guide] Surviving the fork, or How to double your bitcoins (or save fiat) on: August 20, 2015, 01:37:08 PM
This is a plausible scenario, I think the risk for the business is to great for someone to try this, for the business and for the user, in this situation pretty sure someone will try to scam people.

I guess many users will try this, but I wouldn't be surprised if some shitty exchanges would also try to make some extra profit from this opportunity.

There is an other scenario for "afterfork" scamming. I think if the "old" chain losing, and gets abandoned by most miners then it will be relative easy to take over and then this "privat chain" can be turned to a scammer hideout for selling freshly minted worthless coins to noobs.
1083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Guide] Surviving the fork, or How to double your bitcoins (or save fiat) on: August 20, 2015, 12:07:06 PM
I understand that, I don't believe it can work because businesses will update their software in time, but if someone neglects to do so, it is possible and it can go bankrupt in a second...

If bitcoinXT wins I'm pretty sure we'll see a couple of "legacy bitcoin" holdouts for a while, and for a short time we might also have a good chance to find some smaller exchanges on both chains. So I'm pretty much optimistic about doubling my BTC holdings Cheesy. I also expecting to see some bottomed out BTC and inflated altcoin prices as fiat sources can dry out quickly after the first big BTC dumping wave.
1084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Etherum and Emunie scamcoins? on: August 18, 2015, 09:28:51 PM
I think it's more about the platforms not delivering what was expected in a reasonable time. Whether it's not released yet or released underdeveloped irritates people just the same.

That's all a part of the alt scene though. I think devs in both platforms way over estimated what they were really capable of and the communities overestimated even beyond that so I guess everyone shares in the blame some for all the complaining.

I blame NXT for all of this Smiley. The rapid development of NXT in 2014 rendered the then latest eMu versions obsolete, as the economy "module" going to be the big thing in eMU and without that it's comparable to some mid 2014 NXT versions, so it's pointless to release it until the economy part isn't ready. IMO NXT also forced the Eth devs to turn up with something before NXT takes AT form Burst or Qora and makes Eth pretty much redundant.
1085  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Youre traumatized... and ill beat and harass you till you agree" on: August 18, 2015, 08:36:05 PM
Why there's no beliathion the master masturbator teaching us about masturbating?

Don't paint the devil on the wall or he will appear, and going to teach us how masturbating (both intellectual and sexual) will destroy God, bigotry and the ruling class and resolve all social and racial issues, therefore making the world a better place Smiley. I like his optimism though... so much gains for so little effort Cheesy.
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Etherum and Emunie scamcoins? on: August 18, 2015, 08:24:23 PM
Ethereum was rushed in service and now I hear a lot of people crying because of it's not mature enough, no features, no GUI, needs a degree from rocket science, etc. eMunie is still under development as Dan want to make a feature ready, turn key coin, and people complaining because of is still not released Smiley. Pretty funny. Isn't it?

1087  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia Ukraine News: Is War Coming? on: August 18, 2015, 01:01:31 PM
But why would they want territorial "gains"? Aren't they simply fighting for independence on the land they've got? Why would they want more land? You make it sound like they're working for Moscow. Or at least, Moscow keeps sending resources to those useful idiots. A couple of years ago, nobody ever heard of LPR or DPR. Why not? Obviously because they didn't have any money or guns back then. Think about that.

Territorial gains thing: Originally they claimed the entire Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. I guess they didn't gave up on that, and if you compare the performance of the rebel and the government forces, I would say, they have a good chance to achieve that goal.

A couple of years ago they haven't had any real reason for an uprising, but in last year the then new Ukrainian government wasn't careful enough and they provided a reason for an uprising and also provided a reason for Moscow to support that.

The rebels maybe just useful idiots for the bosses in Moscow, but don't forget that they are "brothers in need" for great many Russians, so they can easily get support from other Russians and those who want to forge some political capital can easily do that by satisfying this popular demand.
1088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ever happened to BREAKOUTCOIN (BRO? Was it finally confirmed to be a scam? on: August 18, 2015, 12:38:24 PM
This BREAKOUTCOIN thing walks, talks, and looks like a scam, so it's most likely a scam indeed. Actually their marketing looks pretty similar to Neucoin, therefore I think it belongs to the "Paycoin school". I hope you not invested (or at least not in vested too much) into this coin.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone still think NXT is a scam? on: August 18, 2015, 12:02:03 PM
May or may not be a scam but it's definitely OBSOLETE technology compared to Ethereum.

Joking I guess Smiley. Ethereum is something in alpha state. Barely working, there's some heavy development on it therefore at this moment it's full of bugs and there are no meaningful use for it at all. On the contrary NXT is a working system with all the features (what ETH will have sometimes in the future) completed, up and running.
1090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: wich coin will be next on: August 18, 2015, 11:42:28 AM
wich coin do you think will be big and reach high value in next years ?
ok bitcoin its first one , but wich coin can have a good potential ? Litecoin , Dogecoin , Dashcoin wich others ?
what do you think about dark/Dashcoin ? is this cryptocurrency really anonymous ? and very fast how they developers of dash say ?

First of all you shouldn't ask this question here, because of you going to get loads of bullshit about the latest and greatest coin what is freakin' cheap today but for some reason it will go to "da moon" next week. If you want reliable information instead of bs from people who want to unload or pump some crap, you should do your own research. If you are unable to do that then you might want to go for forex trading instead.
1091  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Televangelists - Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on: August 18, 2015, 10:50:11 AM
as the saying goes..
If money is the root of all evil then why do churches beg so much for it..
funny if you think about it..when tramps on the street beg its not right..but if a man of god begs its ok
WOW never thought about it like that ..so all churches are begging bums Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

WOW so if a tramp says he is not begging he is asking for donations will he be able to get away with this
see most places your not allowed to beg hmmm
if churches beg its ok
if politicians beg its ok
if a tramp begs they get arrested Undecided :-\so churches and politicians are rich bums
wow so now i will look at politicians and churches no different than street beggars
its no different if you really think about it hmm
just a thought Grin

Nor churches neither politicians like competition. As politicians are on the way to render all/most of us to tramps we would be a really huge competition, so they just wanted to act quickly and decisively in the right in time and get rid of other future beggars from their hunting ground Smiley.
1092  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia Ukraine News: Is War Coming? on: August 18, 2015, 10:35:26 AM
Well, I guess most of the harvest is done, coal bunkers, tea boxes and vodka barrels are refilled, soldiers are back from holidays, all the gear fixed and nicely tidied up, Porky and Rats grabbed and sold what they can and got some fresh meat, as  heard recently the ukies moved back their heavy gear near to the LPR/DPR borders, the rebels did the same, so everybody and everything are ready for the next chapter.

I'd bet for more LPR/DPR victories and territorial gains.
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone still think NXT is a scam? on: August 18, 2015, 09:25:31 AM
this is  non-mineable coins
and developer can create new coin every day

It could be non-minable or mineable (mintable) coin as well. Indeed, a developer can create as much coins as they want as long as they can pay the fee for creating one but If they make coins what isn't interesting or have no purpose then that's a wasted money.
1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin XT an alt-coin that rewards with free coins current bitcoin users? on: August 16, 2015, 11:16:45 PM
There is no such thing as 'free money' or a winner in this ...well ... except maybe LTC ...

Only God knows. Such a turmoil around BTC could inflate altcoin prices to "da moon" as a lot of people would use alts as "safe heaven", but a forked BTC network could bring down BTC prices to cents and that can drag down every other cryptoes as well for months or years.
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin XT an alt-coin that rewards with free coins current bitcoin users? on: August 16, 2015, 11:09:14 PM
Not exactly; if we assume that the fork actually happens, which means over 75% of the network is on XT fork, you would have to find a service/exchange that's on original core version in order to spend core bitcoins, which i am certain operators will find a way to prevent.

They can watch both chains for pre fork addresses but that's not a big deal if I move my very same 1 BTC into new wallets on both chains. As I wrote earlier 25% of the network is still a big market so at least for a short time it will be possible to find exchanges on both chains.
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin XT an alt-coin that rewards with free coins current bitcoin users? on: August 16, 2015, 11:01:26 PM
Actually after the fork we are going to see interesting things as, as if I had 1 BTC before the fork I'll have 1 BTC and 1 XBTC after the fork with the same value. So, I can trade both for let's say LTC and when the war ended I'll have 2 BTC/XBTC worth LTC Smiley. Pretty straightforward way to double my holdings for free Wink.

You need to know how to do it though. Tricky to ensure your transaction gets executed on only one blockchain.

I think it's not quite so difficult, as after the fork the legacy BTC chain not going to accept blocks from the XT chain and vica versa.  However for a short time I think it will be possible to find exchanges on both chains... 25% of the current BTC network is still a huge market. So I just have to use the same pre-fork wallet file in a core and in an XT client. As there are no communication between the two networks these exchanges on different chains not going to know about my "double spending".
1097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin makes revolution on money transfer market ? on: August 16, 2015, 10:41:49 PM
but if thoes large chunks of bitcoin are controlled of financial institusion ..think about that

That would scare away me from bitcoin Smiley. Bitcoin controlled by banks or even worse governments would be something like VISA and Mastercard on steroids :/. That's why I'm pretty sure sooner or later we will see a great rise of govt coins, that will make surveillance much easier and much more effective.

1099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin makes revolution on money transfer market ? on: August 16, 2015, 10:06:10 PM
No, I don't think so. At least not directly. However the blockchain technology almost surely going to be the basis of many (if not most) future money transfer applications. Bitcoin itself is just too unpredictable and volatile at this moment and large chunks of the existing BTC are also controlled by unpredictable sometimes even unknown people, this scares away most financial institutions.
1100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 27% of all Orbitcoins ever were instamined in First 6 minutes on: August 16, 2015, 09:45:59 PM
As far as I can remember in it's time Orbitcoin was the most heavily preminied coin (actually 66%), because of a coding/logical error restricted the coin supply to only 1.526 million coins instead of the originally configured 31 million. All of this paired with 0 diff at start. Cryptsy suspended it after the first day of trading, and for a while it was traded only on some of the most shitty exchanges "of the age" like coins-e and phenixex... it was lot's of fun Smiley.
