1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 21, 2023, 10:57:55 PM
Boys. It is time to quit gamble. I created a topic about taking gambling as a major income or not and fought a lot of kind people who held an opposite point. I own them a truly apology. I am sorry. No matter who you are, gambling is only for fun. Never take it as income at anytime. If you are still gambling, you should quit now. If you cannot quit by yourself, there are so many channels to help you. Even you can talk to me. I will do my best to help you.

Just some chemical reaction happened in my mind today, I get the point at that moment. Gambling for income is totally wrong and toxic for spirit and body. You will never be successful in that way. But I like gamble is still the fact and it will never change if doing nothing. So, why not open a stream and show it to all people who have interest on that. Let me prove how hard or easy to quit gamble. I will only gamble the affordable fund only. Maybe less. I am streaming 24/7. If some software problems disrupt, I will fix that except sleeping time.

Quit gambling now!

If you decide to quit gamble or take gamble as entertainment only, welcome to join me.

I hate gamble!

Update 1
Boys. You can't imagine how relax I am when decide to quit gamble. Here is the way. I will stream all my gambling behavior with recording. No stream No gamble. If you are going through the same situation, join me. You will obtain a new life.
According to Kick you haven't stream since 13 days now, does this mean you haven't gamble one single time during 2 weeks ? It would be a great achievement for someone being addicted like you to be honest. I am not a great user of Kick but I like watching several streamers on Twitch, so I was happy to be able to watch a Bitcointalk user streaming now. Unfortunately or gladly maybe, you seem to be able to resist to the gambling temptation.
Do you use some drugs for that purpose btw ? I hope you will share your tricks once you've succeeded.
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: July 21, 2023, 09:57:03 PM
Understanding the concept of fair odds is a pivotal step towards grasping why the vast majority of bettors continually face losses in the realm of sports betting.

Let’s start with a simple coin toss, where each side holds a 50% chance (or 0.5) of landing face-up. The fair odds here would be 1/0.5 = 2.

Now, consider a six-sided dice roll. Each face possesses a 16.67% chance (or 0.1667) of landing face-up. The fair odds, in this case, would amount to 1/0.1667 = 6. If you bet on five out of the six faces, you secure an impressive 83.33% chance (or 0.8333) of winning. The fair odds for this scenario equate to 1/0.8333 = 1.2. In other words, if you place a $1 bet on five out of the six faces and win, you’ll receive $1.2.

At this point, you might be tempted to think that betting on favorites with low odds would ensure long-term success. However, that’s not the case.

Let’s delve into some calculations:

Expected Value (EV) in statistics is a predicted value of a variable. It is calculated as the sum of all possible values, each multiplied by the probability of its occurrence. In the context of sports betting, EV represents the long-term average payoff from an event. If the EV is positive (+EV), the bet holds the potential for profitability in the long run. Conversely, if the EV is negative (-EV), the bet is likely to result in losses over time.

EV = (Fair Win Probability) x (Profit) - (Fair Loss Probability) x (Loss)

Consider an operator that charges a commission for the dice roll game, causing the favorite to have odds of 1.17 and the underdog odds of 5.85.

What would happen if you bet on the favorite in the long run?

You’d end up facing losses. Let’s calculate:

EV = 0.8333 x ($0.17) – 0.1667 x ($1) = -$0.025

In this case, for every $1 bet, you’d lose $0.025.

The result would be the same if you bet on the underdog with odds 5.85:

EV = 0.1667 x ($4.85) – 0.8333 x ($1) = -$0.025

It doesn’t matter whether you bet on low odds or high odds; in the long run, you’ll lose money.

Now, imagine a tennis match where two players are evenly matched, each holding a 50% chance of winning. The fair odds for both players would be 2.0. However, bookmakers offer lower odds, such as 1.9 for each player. This discrepancy represents the bookmakers’ commission.

Let’s calculate the EV with odds of 1.9:

EV = 0.5 x ($0.9) - 0,5 x ($1) = -$0.05
If you use decimal(aka european) odds like in your example, a simpler way to get compute the Expected Value is to just take the decimal odds by their own and not to just take the winnings and then to subtract 1 or 1 x $1 if you prefer. Because you can consider that you lose all your stake for every bet (1 x $1) and you win it back if you win your bet($1.9 instead of $0.9)
So here you will get with the figures of your example :
EV = 0.5 x $1.9 - $1 = -$0.05

1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: July 20, 2023, 09:59:20 PM

anyone deposited very less amount and luckily won a big jackpot like a 100x or 500x or 1000x of base bet and withdrawn without kyc or without facing any problem from the platform?

if yes, how much was that amount? and what was the exchange?

i seen many people complaining about they don't give big wins easily or just don't give by making unanswerable queries like very hard KYC, freezing accounts, etc. this problem is very common with trusted casino's also/

do anyone withdrawn successfully the winning amount and if yes what was the process, it was seamless or you need to pass a hard kyc?
Winning 1000x the base bet is not uncommon at all at slot games, so I don't think many casinos block withdrawals for such winnings except if the stake is high, like $2 or $3 and the casino is a small one. Because usually casinos lock accounts and ask endless KYC when they see that the customer is winning more often than the probabilities of the games or the bets allow to do to random players. And the amount earned starts to become substantial.
1085  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in is no longer a KYC free casino! (New terms) on: July 19, 2023, 04:56:11 PM
The fact is that there are still casinos that do not ask for KYC under any circumstances and freebitco.in is no longer one of them.
There are still casinos not asking KYC under any circumstances? Really? Which ones are they please? Except few fully decentralized casinos/sportsbooks, I am not aware of that. It must be some tiny ones I guess, no? It's sad to notice that, but all centralized exchanges and casinos are taking the KYC mandatory road one after another one, so the ones remaining are the exceptions now.

1091  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever been scammed ? on: July 15, 2023, 11:58:00 PM
Am I forgetting any?
I would add the casino/gambling scammed, the impersonate scammed and the custodial wallet ones.
For the custodial wallet : you are using a service of custodial wallet and one day you realize that you can't withdraw your funds because they have been allegedly hacked, or the service is closing.
The gambling one is more common, you spend your money on a casino/sportsbook without any issue but the day when you make some winnings troubles come from nowhere for being paid or for withdrawing them. Something went wrong with your bet and he's cancelled, the casino accuses you to have breached its ToS, or ask for an unachievable KYC.
The impersonate : you think you are dealing with the legit customer support on Telegram, Twitter, Facebook, Slack, Discord, by email, ... but it's a fake account actually. Or the website you are using is a copy of the real one with a similar URL but not identical (website spoofing).

Huobi now allows to withdrawal up to 5BTC a day, by just giving your name, your birth date and your nationality. They will give you a kind of virtual citizenship from the Commonwealth of Dominica.
I seriously started thinking about moving to this platform and trying it out. Do you have any prior experience about it? Average withdrawal between 2k to 5k per month with good support for major trading pairs and adequate liquidity.
Unfortunately, DEXs are still far from being perfect, and even BISQ is suitable for those who want to convert to fiat, although it is still a good experience.
also, you can use this forum and ask a trusted person with a verified account to do the exchange for you, which is an option you can use as a last option.
It's not the best designed platform IMO as it seems to be designed for chinese language first, but they're offering the same tools and services as what other large exchanges are offering. You can open an account, trading and withdrawing small amounts without even giving your name and your date of birth(0 KYC), and the 5BTC/day level only need to submit those informations without providing any document.

Okay, Binance turned 6 this year, that is correct but why the lies:

#Binance was created to achieve freedom of money for everyone.  Roll Eyes

After 6 years, we remain as focused on this goal as ever.  Roll Eyes

With #BinanceTurns6 just around the corner, let’s hear from those who’ve already had their lives positively impacted by crypto.

Please do not report this post, I will move it to exchanges myself. I just want some newbies to see how centralized exchanges can be lying to them professionally.

If you do not have the private keys and seed phrase, you do not have the freedom. With centralized exchanges, no freedom.

But just that we traders do not have option than to still trade on the centralized exchanges. I have $500 to trade, I prefer to go 10x with $50 while having $450 on my noncustodial wallet as backup while transferring the profit out if there is profitable trade. Grin
It's a pretty harsh judgement IMO, because Binance has no other choice than to keep confidential the private keys of their wallets, otherwise the safety of the customers' funds would no longer be guaranteed. But they've created and maintained a multi-cryptos wallet : Trust Wallet. And they seem to have try their best to be as fair and accommodating as they can towards their customers. So much so that they didn't respect regulations and get prosecuted by SEC and CFTC.
1094  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which will be best non-KYC exchanger after Ku-coin? on: July 13, 2023, 10:59:59 PM
I have used LBank and MEXC, but the non-KYC requirement is just for certain withdrawal limits. If you must be able to withdraw a certain amount of Bitcoin or fiat, then you will definitely need to pass the KYC, which is just a way they can use to trap your coin. On Huobi exchange too, you are limited to a certain amount of withdrawal if you don't pass KYC. So my simple advice is the same as @Nwada001's. I don't recommend any of those CEX for you. Rather than seeking a Non-KYC CEX, just look for a good DEX that doesn't even require KYC before you can carry out your Bitcoin transaction.

Cheers 🥂, Dr.Bitcoin_Strange 👺👺
Which DEX would you recommend? Usually DEX have a very poor liquidity and only work on one blockchain. It means you need to use bridges in order to convert the cryptos you want to exchange in wrapped tokens onto the blockchain supported, if they exist. That's usually not easy and smooth at all and you have to pay premium for that. Huobi now allows to withdrawal up to 5BTC a day, by just giving your name, your birth date and your nationality. They will give you a kind of virtual citizenship from the Commonwealth of Dominica.

1096  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: July 13, 2023, 09:58:54 PM
It's definitely not something they do for fun or they like to do, it's probably one of the requirements of the AML laws that they need to comply with. If they don't confirm the source of income of their gamblers, that would make it suspicious for the gamblers and there might be potential money launderers authorities can't accept that so they force these rules on the casinos that are regulated so that there is no money laundering in the casinos.

And, I don't think they ask for your proof of income at level 1 KYC verification but they ask for it for the highest level of KYC which mostly occurs because you either want to make a big deposit or withdrawal, or they might find some of your activities unusual and suspicious, that is when the highest level of KYC verification is triggered.
Not for fun, but doing it for money or in order "to protect their business" is very likely. Willowbitcoin hasn't made any witdrawal and just made a deposit of $750 according to him. That's weird to ask KYC for withdrawing his winnings and not for accepting his deposit, if it's just for AML measures purpose. Strangely we never see casinos asking KYC to accept deposits or to take the money of the customers when they lose. It's always when they have to pay winnings that issues happen. Besides that why they just don't say it if it's a matter of AML? They would pay dozens of users to wear their avatar and signature but not replying to a serious thread like that hurting their reputation, while their behaviour is totally fair, honest and professional?

If you're pessimistic and think everything will go wrong, Bitcoin.
If you're optimistic and believe there's still everything to build, Ethereum.

No I wasn't aware of that, well it's sad because it was of the last large exchanges not requiring KYC. Now since OKX doesn't accept people from my country, only Huobi remains. It's not a bad exchange but I'm afraid it will ask KYC soon as well. Only smaller exchanges like Poloniex or Yobit would remain if it happens
After what happen to Kucoin where they have been implementing a mandatory KYC then there's a high chance thay Huobi will follow on this since they might encounter a legal issues if they still allowed non Kyc to use their platform. But since this implementation is already happening maybe newbie should normalize this Kyc thing and treat it as normal require to submit so that we wil comply on the requirements they ask.
Well, since it's not a western exchange and they've been able to avoid chinese regulation, we can hope they will dare to refuse to follow american and/or european regulation at least for one or 2 more years. But I don't think they will manage to resist indefinitely to be honest.
