Doubtful about Nepal. Their cricket has been on a downward slide ever since 2015. And the reason is very clear. Back in 2015, the ICC reduced funding for the associates by as much as 80%. It didn't had an impact on "rich" boards such as the United Arab Emirates and Oman, but the "poorer" boards such as Nepal were severely impacted. On top of that the ICC implemented a performance based funding system. Teams like the United Arab Emirates immediately recruited former first class players from India and Pakistan. Nepal couldn't afford to do that and they started losing matches. So this 80% decrease became 90% for them.

And I don't have much hope for the next (2024-31) funding cycle as well. The BCCI is demanding a higher share from the ICC, and this may result in further reductions to the associates. On top of that, the BCCI has formed a cabal with middle-east boards such as the United Arab Emirates and Oman, and they are trying to weaken the other associate nations.

The problem is that Nepal is not getting to play regularly. And if they are not playing regularly, they will not be able to perform well when it comes to showing people that they can win against bigger opponents. ICC generally does not have too much time allotted for associate nations in 1 calendar year. And I think the lack of play is eventually degrading the performance of the associate nations.

After that comes the funding part. Sometimes I feel like ICC does not even care about the associate nations. Because the funding was going to be very different for the associate nations. Nepal has a lot of talented players. My personal opinion is that ICC can increase the funding for them. But then they will have to increase funding for all the associate nations.

Liton Das lost his wicket early today with just seven runs for which Bangladesh finished the game in tougher conditions. Even though Bangladesh played badly, their run rate was not lower than England.  If Bangladesh could have played the remaining 16 balls, England would have been under a lot of pressure and maybe England would not have beaten Bangladesh today, but because of the loss of every wicket in Bangladesh, England had a huge opportunity to beat Bangladesh and they took advantage of their chances.
Today could have been a winning day for Bangladesh if a few cricketers could have scored a few more runs. Especially those who are expected to do well like Litton Das, Sakib Al Hasan, Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz none of them could reach double figures. Which was really a big disaster for them. However, David Malan, the player of the England team, has to be praised. who returned from injury and played a key role to win against the opposition in Bangladesh. Although the team lost 7 wickets, he remained unbeaten. He gave a glorious innings for the England team.

David Malan was the only player who was able to play decently in this match. Apart from him alone, it was a match of bowlers. Both England and Bangladesh bowlers did very well. But I have to say I was disappointed with the batting performance of Bangladesh.

At certain times it really felt like Bangladesh give their wickets away for nothing. Shanto is often trolled for bad performance. Today he had a good chance of proving everyone wrong by getting a century. He was also looking good to get a century. But then he played a really bad shot. Overall, good performance from David Malan, and congratulations to England.

Lazio who is in fifth place, has a mission to break into the top four, a win over Sampdoria can encourage Lazio players to keep their chances of qualifying for the Champions League. Sampdoria has only won two draws and lost three times in the last five matches which is not a match for Lazio, the difference in quality is very visible between the two. Lazio must not waste the chance to win when they face the teams who live in the Relegation Zone.
Lazio have to fight for the top 4, at least they have a chance to move up before Roma's match against Cremonese tomorrow. Since Mourinho is very much looking forward to a place in the Champions League, he already misses this tournament and they have a very good chance to achieve this. It is still important for Lazio to win because Atalanta is very close, and Sampdoria is a weak opponent (except for the recent draw with Inter).
While there is still a chance for Lazio to compete for fourth place, of course, Lazio must be able to consistently earn points in every match. Because in my view, Lazio and Roma have qualities that are not much different, so of course Lazio can compete with Roma in the hunt for fourth place in the Serie A standings.
Although there is still Atalanta who also has a chance for that place but one thing is for sure, they have the ability to finish in the top six and that is good enough for them.

Lazio has been greatly inconsistent. At this point, I think they actually do not probably even deserve to finish in the top 4. Of course, they are going to win the next match against Sampdoria. Because Sampdoria is in the relegation zone right now.

It has been a very hard season for them. And I do not expect them to win against a team that is in the top 5. So I believe that Lazio will be able to win the next match. But after that, they might start being inconsistent again. So at this moment, it is hard to trust Lazio with anything.

Big blow for MI and the Indian team as Jasprit Bhumrah may not be fit to play this year's IPL and the upcoming ODIWC. It seems his back injury appears to be more serious than it initially appeared. I am not concerned about the ODIWC as India has quality bowlers who can replace him but MI might have a tough time in this season of IPL. He has not played any cricket for the last 5 months and with his injury getting worse I think he would not be able to come back anytime soon. Such a situation for a good bowler like him can dent his career path as it gives other Indian bowling talents an opportunity to grab his position. We all know how competitive Indian cricket has become and the amount of talent pool India has in cricket.
Even this all is in early stages but still big below for the Indian cricket because I have feeling back injury is never been good we already lost two big bowlers due to this injury in last few decades like Ian Bishop of West Indies and Mohammad Zahid of Pakistan these two were also lethal bowlers and lost their careers with this same back injury very quickly once it started, it's not going to allow bowler for having good time in this game hopefully now with the better treatment and modern ways of treatment things could be turn positive for the Jasprit Bhumrah.

As we all know he is out of game for nearly 6 months and now things are going the worst day by day which is also not ideal situation but Indian team is now having luxury of few quality bowlers even this all is still in early stages, and they need services of Jasprit Bhumrah which is premier bowler and having good results for the Team India.

Bumrah has been away for quite a long time because of injuries. And he is still facing problems with injuries. It is actually sad to see that he is not being able to recover. Another big concerned is that even if he does come back being fit, is his performance going to be the same as before?

I think he is injuries are going to have a big effect on his career. I am quite certain that his performance is not going to be as good as before when he comes back from injury. And something tells me it is going to take a long time for him to recover properly. But of course, I want him to get better very soon. Because of him not being in the Indian squad, the Indian team is also suffering a little on the fast-bowling side.

Liverpool's pursuit of Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham will not be harmed by their struggles this season as Champions League qualification is not a deal-breaker for the 19-year-old. I'm not so sure about that. Every player wants to play in the Champions League and fight for trophies. I believe that there is still a greater chance that Bellingham will go to Real as a replacement for the aging Modric.
Liverpool have very obvious midfield problems but despite this they have been very slow in the winter transfer window. I really wouldn't want to be in Klopp's shoes. They're acting like they're trying to make Klopp helpless right now. Even Liverpool signing Jude Bellingham may not be enough. I think they need to catch up with the competition and they need to sign a few more quality midfielders to achieve that.
The earlier Liverpool bid for Jude Bellingham for next summer the better, currently the present crop of midfielders in Liverpool squad had become shadow of former self the likes of Henderson, Milner, Keita and Tiago Alcântara had dropped form and had not been performing well, their midfield needed reinforcement, however Klopp should work hard towards clinching a top 4 spot in EPL because that would be one of the conditions that would lure Jude Bellingham to the club, that is playing in UCL will be guaranteed next season else he might opt for another club which is likely Real Madrid.

I actually do not think that Jude Bellingham is coming to Liverpool. A big reason for that is going to be the bad performance of Liverpool. Especially when he is in a team like Dortmund which is at the top of the table. This feels like it is going to be a downgrade for Jude Bellingham if he does decide to move to Liverpool at this moment.

Croatia midfielder Marcelo Brozovic could be sold by Inter Milan in the summer, with Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid interested in the 30-year-old. It seems to me that Inter is making the same mistake as they did with Perisic, and that they will only be aware of the kind of player they let in later. For Brozovic, this is the last chance to make a career transfer.

I hope they have a player ready in place of Marcelo Brozovich. Otherwise, they will be making a mistake. There is a reason why teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid are trying to get him in.
1106  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: February 27, 2023, 09:30:38 AM
First and foremost obstacles in making money is that even having a degree individuals cannot find a job. There are numerous individuals who are jobless they cannot complete the requirements of life. So for such purpose lots of people are entering the cryptocurrency technology for trading and earn money.

A degree only gives you preference and more opportunities than someone without a degree, it cannot guarantee you a job. If you're fresh out of school and don't have any experience, you can't beat someone with a degree and experience. Today, I see young people are quite proud, when they just graduated from school, they have no experience but always demand a high salary. It is also a cause of their mass unemployment. Then they look for get-rich-quick paths, and crypto is an option, but you can see that most newbies lose because they are too greedy.
1107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 26, 2023, 02:15:29 PM
I think Tottenham can win against Chelsea this year.  It is very unlikely that Tottenham will ever find such a bad Chelsea again.  They're doing pretty well this year, too.  Whatever the outcome, I'm sure it will be a good match.  My guess is Tottenham is the team that is close to winning.
Chelsea can finish Tottenham with a win even though many think Chelsea's poor play will be continued by Graham Potter in the match later.
In my opinion, Chelsea's good play will be seen starting this week at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the London derby.
Havertz, Mount and Felix will be the players who will overwhelm the Spurs and hold the Blues' attack especially Sterling is certainly able to be played by Potter which will make me believe that Chelsea will get points.

Chelsea is in the 10th position of the table and on the other hand, and Tottenham is in the fourth. And even though Tottenham is not the most consistent performer in the English Premier League right now, I think they are still better than Chelsea. The match is ongoing 44 minutes have been played. I believe Tottenham should be able to win. I strongly believe that because the match is going to be played in Tottenham Hotspurs stadium. So of course the advantage of home conditions is going to be with spurs.

On the other hand, I do not have anything to support Chelsea in this match. They do not have the performance. It is going to be actually a big surprise if Chelsea somehow wins this match.

Paris St-Germain and Argentina forward Lionel Messi is considering returning to his boyhood club Newell's Old Boys. After all the possibilities that have been mentioned, from extending the contract with PSG to returning to Barcelona, this is really a big surprise. What Messi will decide in the end?
Chelsea and Portugal forward Joao Felix, 23, wants to make his loan deal from Atletico Madrid permanent this summer. Did Felix finally find the right club for him and his style of play?
Al Nassr have made contact with the representatives of Paris St-Germain and former Spain defender Sergio Ramos over a potential move before next season. Will Arab owners get another big European star after Ronaldo? Saudi Arabia, it seems, is becoming a rich retirement destination for old European stars  Grin
France forward Marcus Thuram, who will be out of contract at Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer, has been offered to Barcelona, while Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester United and PSG have also been linked with the 25-year-old. Many clubs want Thuram, and what will he decide in the end?
Brazil could bring in ex-Spain and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique to replace Tite rather than Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti. When will this saga finally end and who will become the new coach of Brazil?
I consider Messi joining his boyhood club Newell's old boys as a good gesture, trying to give back to the club for the good years of mentorship and coaching from a young stage of academy but as of now there are no concrete or factual decision made by the player concerning his future after PSG.

Joao Felix seems to be enjoying life at Chelsea already and it's already expected that he will favor a move to stay at Chelsea permanently. It is very possible that Sergio Ramos may move abroad after PSG, it could also be a move to Saudi Arabia.

Actually, Lionel Messi is still able to perform at the top. Personally, I would like to see him one more year at the top. But if he decides to give rest to his body, that's up to him.

Joao Felix should go to Atletico Madrid in my opinion. It is not going to be a good idea to stay in Chelsea. He is already not playing very well in Chelsea. And at the same time, Chelsea is going through a big overhaul. I think it will be the right decision to move to Atletico Madrid.

@Daniel91, Brazil is a young squad. I think with that squad Carlo Ancelotti could have been the better one.
1109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 26, 2023, 11:36:14 AM
The performance of these associates are below average according to standards of ICC and other teams those are competing in tournaments. UAE and  Namibia should work on their batting as scoring 91 and 166 in ODI is really bad.
When these teams get regular matches, the performance will be better. UAE and Namibia have scored 91 and 166 in the last two matches. Earlier the same teams have scored runs above 300 and 200 in different matches. These teams get continuous matches for few months and have break for long. This gap isn't good with cricket and particularly with ODI players won't be able to maintain their consistent play. Few matches were really exceptional as unexpected results came out due to responsible play from bottom order players.

The problem is if they get continuous matches against bigger opponents, the match is going to be one sided and people are not going to want to watch that. And that is bad for business for the ICC. Probably that's a big reason why they are not getting regular matches.

On top of that, what you said is also a very valid reason. If the associate teams are playing against bigger opponents, the quality of matches is going to drop significantly. So the spectators are probably not going to want to see those matches. So eventually the revenue is not going to be good enough.
1110  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: February 26, 2023, 03:33:50 AM
Education does not guarantee you a successful future, but education is necessary and a solid springboard for you to start life. Today, many college graduates are unemployed, but not all, many still have jobs even while attending college. That means that in addition to degrees and knowledge, we need to have many more skills, and skills are not the same for everyone. Sometimes education is not necessarily a university graduate, or getting a degree, education is the knowledge that you can learn outside of society.

... I believe the reason behind why most people suggest to invest only on Bitcoin here is because this is Bitcointalk and people preferred Bitcoin due to its feature.

Maybe this is the reason, since we are in bitcointalk and most people here just like bitcoin, they are bitcoinists, so we won't see too much altcoins advice here. Honestly, I've joined a few local investment groups on social media, and I've found that most of the people invest mainly in altcoins. Very few people invest in bitcoin because they think altcoins will make them rich faster than bitcoin. And they are all willing to take the risk to invest in altcoins, and during the bull season of 2021, many people got rich quickly by investing in memes, altcoins.

Yes, there are a lot of Bitcoin maximalists here, and that's why there are so many people who have negative views about altcoins. However, Bitcoin maximalists have rational reasons to become Bitcoin maximalists. One of them can easily be seen by looking at the historical page of Coinmarketcap (https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/). In my opinion, people who do not have enough experience should definitely stay away from altcoins.

I agree with you that altcoins are not for newbies because of the risks they bring, but it should not be denied that altcoins are also a very good way to make profits if we know how. We should give helpful advice to newbies about altcoins rather than making false claims about altcoins to newbies. We enter the cryptocurrency market looking for profit as long as it can be profitable for us, we should not pass up the opportunity. As long as we know what we're doing with our money and are willing to take the risk if we make the wrong decision, we can invest anywhere.
1112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 25, 2023, 06:56:44 PM
However, none of New Zealand's batsmen could perform well. Staying at the crease was very difficult for the New Zealand batsmen. Despite having several experienced batsmen in New Zealand's squad, they are not playing well. It was very disappointing. The New Zealand team was badly defeated in the first match.
I don't know what's wrong with newZealand, they are really in big trouble, if we check out Thier statistics recently they lose most of Thier matches against India in Thier home ground and now they lose first test against england and now Thier performance show indication that they lose the second test of this series too. No doubt they have quality batter and bowler but they can't execute the way they need and such kind of thing is not good for any team before ICC event because it's degrade the player moral which will put them under pressure. But anyhow if they work on Thier mistakes hope it will be tough team of the world cup

The performance of England as a team was not good, that is true. Very good individual score, England did not do much. But the problem is New Zealand is unable to even bring those two good individual performances and also not being able to do anything as a team. New Zealand is already 7 down for only 138. I think England is going to start the second innings with a good lead. Unless something unbelievable happens, New Zealand is lost in this test match. The best they can do is play for a draw.

1114  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 24, 2023, 12:04:22 PM
Saving is not wasting of time but the main thing is the selection of stable coin. One more thing is that you are student so when you involved in investment then you would not maintain your study which will be your big mistake. Education is necessary because there is not limitation of age for investment. First complete your study then surely involve in crypto trading.

But if you want to save money then save your money in Bitcoin for at least 3 or 4 year it will boost in price and you will be benefited from it. If you save it for future without investment then it will not increase but investment in Bitcoin can give you huge money in return. The market is not trustable so put money in Bitcoin and leave it for some years, after some years it will be perfectly boost up so take your advantage easily but first focus on study is important.

As Cookdata said, even if you hold gold, you can't call it savings, bitcoin can't be called savings, and bitcoin is a risky investment. As a student, OP can still invest but depending on his circumstances, but in my opinion, students should have savings rather than an investment, as there is no guarantee that the investment will not lose. Do not forget that, in investment should only invest with money that can be lost, if you do not have idle money, you should not invest.
1115  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: February 24, 2023, 11:47:56 AM
I spend my salary by buying first all my personal necessities such as groceries, personal care, monthly and house appliances(if ever I needed some replacement for my broken appliance). The remaining of my salary will go to my different savings such as life savings, personal savings(money that I save if I plan to purchase something) and insurance. I don’t spend unnecessary things that I just think outside my plan budget and I always plan so that I can allocate money when I’m buying things that is not on my list.

This is how I manage my monthly salary. The only thing I spend that is not planned is for food like when I crave for a specific food but I don’t count this as unnecessary expenses because food is my favorite part of my life.
You forgot to add the bills Cheesy i.e water bills, electricity bills, internet bills and the like. This and then the grocery are the ones that are more important than personal care and appliances because we can still live a peaceful life without them. As long as we already have the basic and the most needed appliance like rice cooker to cook food and then gas stove then we are now good to go.

The rest can just be carried on. Insurances and savings are important but this can only come once we still have extra money from our salary. I see that you're a foodie. I think that's better than other habits like gambling or alcohol but you must still have a control, so that you won't spend more and then you won't have a health problem.

And I see you both didn't mention money to invest, I think we should add a long term investment for the future. Apart from the daily expenses and bills, I always have one to save and one to invest. In general, people like to eat delicious food, but should not waste too much money on food, especially fast food, which is harmful to our health if eaten too much. I only eat main meals and rarely snack. I prefer to save my money in order to invest.
1116  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: February 23, 2023, 12:12:03 PM
Well internet makes everyone closer to each other and as it humanity evolved, you network and market yourself. And now every business is going online and I think there's nothing wrong with that, but instead embrace it.

This is only partially true, thanks to the internet and social networks, we can make many friends as well as have the opportunity to chat with loved ones far away. But today's social networks are making love between husband and wife, mother and child, friends ... increasingly blurred. Each person with a phone is only interested in the things of social networks that forget about the people closest to us. Our society is developing day by day, but besides the advantages, there are always disadvantages, which is alarming.
1117  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic implications of a US-China-Taiwan conflict on: February 23, 2023, 11:59:54 AM
First of all I don't see such a thing happening anytime soon not in 2025 for sure...

And why are you so sure about that?

Here on the forum, we have zillion threads about how profitable is to invest in crypto/gold/real estate/oil/etc... but I guess that nothing beats investing in weapons! But what level do you need to be for that? Smiley

My point is simple! Too many weapons around... and demand for new and better ones is constantly increasing! But the old must be spent somewhere, and the new must be shown how it works, it will get a better price if it's tested in a real battle! So it's not a question will it happen, it's a question of where will it happen and when! And how big it can be... do you even know how many active conflicts there are around the world?

We want peace, but (globally) we produce/sell/buy more weapons than ever before. It's a bit contradictory from my point of view.

Your point is absolutely right, and that is what is happening in Russia and Ukraine. Many old weapons from the Soviet era were used in the early stages of the war and then in a show of power of a series of new generation weapons. The Ukrainian battlefield is no different from a place to use old weapons and test new types of combat weapons. I remember when the war started, American military contractors received dozens of contracts to buy weapons from allied countries, and brought them billions of dollars in profits.
1118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there age limits to Bitcoin investment? on: February 22, 2023, 03:15:52 PM
Everyone can invest in bitcoin, but it's even better if young people have started investing in it to prepare for their future. People who introduce bitcoin to their children under 10 have their reasons that doing it early helps them understand how bitcoin works. And they teach basic lessons about bitcoin and maybe a little knowledge about investing in it so that when they grow up, they can decide and continue to invest in it.

But maybe parents are waiting for their children to grow up, and then they will teach them about bitcoin and advise them to start investing in it from a young age. Today's young people need to be given an understanding that they are fully responsible when they grow up and have families later.

I don't quite agree with the idea of introducing investing to children under 10, even a little bit. Under 10 years old, at that age they are still very playful, we should not destroy their beautiful childhood. There are many good things in the outside world waiting for them to discover. Introducing investment or teaching your children to earn money too soon will distract them from their studies and easily commit theft when they have no money.

I will save bitcoins for my children and will teach them about bitcoin someday, but I will not advise or force them. I want them to choose according to their preferences.

I see that btc almost hit 25k$ this morning and i believe that if btc rise 25k$ most of the altcoins will also rise or follow btc trend, so i think this time will be the very best time to decide what altcoins can give us profit in short term investment if you have any suggestions please extend or let me know.

Investing in altcoins is like gambling, so no one will be able to give you any advice, and no one wants to be blamed, so do your own research instead of relying on others.

I am not a bitcoin maximalist, I also like to invest in altcoins for their profit, but I think this is not the right time to invest in altcoins yet. Bears are not entirely gone yet, they can come back unexpectedly, so investing in altcoins is very risky. Please continue to focus on bitcoin at this stage.
1120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 21, 2023, 03:24:22 PM
I thought Valencia would succeed in stealing points at Getafe in the La Liga match last night against host Getafe, but it seemed that the match was quite balanced in ball possession but Getafe's shots on target were superior which resulted in 1 goal nesting against Valencia. Getafe played pretty hard by getting a total of 6 yellow cards, it looks like they really want to win this match so they can get away from the relegation zone. Getafe climbed to 16th place in the standings, while Valencia had to be willing to stay in 19th place in the relegation zone standings.
There is this desire and dedication that is used to fight when you want to escape the relegation zone.
I least expected that Gatefe to beat Valencia but gone are the days that Spanish teams used to be consistent in their performance.  I remember the good days that Valencia used to do well but these days any other team can beat every other team apart from Real Madrid, Barcelona and maybe Atletico Madrid which is performing below expectation to me. Every every other club can beat any other club in Spanish La Liga, that is the difference between them and the English football
Indeed that can be a strong motivation to keep going and Getafe really deserved the win. When talking about matches in La Liga, of course there are always surprises and it's not often that big teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona also have to experience defeat by small teams. But that's football, sometimes expectations don't match reality.

Getafe played very well. And this team is desperate to stay away from the relegation zone. They are trying their best to stay away from the relegation zone. They managed to earn points in the last three matches. And after getting 5 points in these three matches they have now managed to climb to 16th position in the points table. Getafe played well throughout the match against Valencia. They attacked from the beginning of the match. and attempted to score. However, no team could score in the first half. Getafe scored the only goal of the match in the second half. And they managed to win the match. I would say Getafe will be able to stay away from the relegation zone this season. And points can climb higher up the table.
