1101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The smallest unit of Ethereum. on: July 20, 2019, 09:15:05 AM
Was just asking a friend who has been into cryptocurrency that, what is the smallest unit of Ethereum and he said Gwei, that makes me confused and quickly do a little research to found out that, it was not Gwei rather Wei, so, i deem it fit to share it here for others to get the correct smallest unit of Ethereum before they mislead others.

As much as Bitcoin smallest unit is 1 Satoshi also is Ethereum which is 1 Wei, but most Ethereum enthusiast haven’t gotten to know about this smallest unit. This Wei can be represented mathematically as 1x10^-18 ETH, which mean 1 Wei = 0.000000000000000001 ETH Smallest unit. Also remember that, Ethereum has 11 known units and the most used units are Wei, Gwei, and Ether.

1102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Local bitcoin trading site doing KYC NOW on: July 19, 2019, 08:25:08 PM
Why should I be afraid of KYC?
Exchange provides security guarantees and this step is done for the convenience of all members to trade.
Many people try to cheat with fake accounts.
they can justify trading, of course the KYC prevents such users.
Although KYC can't be use to check cheating when its not referral based, traders aren't afraid of any KYC per se but there's the tendencies of the company to sell out traders information to the government without the consent of the trader. Personally am not afraid of KYC because I have nothing to hide as a cryptocurrency enthusiasts and an investors.

Few months from now, we will be seeing and hearing many other big exchanges complying with the government regulations irrespective of either decentralized or centralized exchange platforms, but we should embrace it because it for the good of the industry. Some exchanges will be run as in form of darkweb, till then, let's embrace this offer from them.
1103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New phishing attack using Google Calendar on: July 19, 2019, 08:09:45 PM
OMG Shocked how is this possible in the first place? Damn I'm glad I don't use google calendar on my phones,too many physical calendars in my home
Come-on mate nothing like Google calendar because it reminds you of many stuff that are worth keeping, even dateofbirth among others. The important information from this thread is: never click anything that's not clear for you no matter whose platform's the ads shows. I got series of these notifications but always careful for what I click, also, Brave browser can be of a help to block those unwanted ads show from your phones or desktops and prevent you from phishing links.
1104  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trend carefully while reading Trump Tweets about Bitcoin on: July 13, 2019, 08:49:54 PM
.....
Everyone should endeavour to do their own research on any technology, rather than take the public opinion of prominent individuals or 'experts', who may or may not own some bitcoins while speaking against it.

There are many lazy individuals around the IOT and would rather listen to their mentors or leaders then to do a little research about what they hear from them. Bet you that; most of these follower's will rather listen than to do research.
1105  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trend carefully while reading Trump Tweets about Bitcoin on: July 13, 2019, 06:56:33 AM
Candidly speaking, I wouldn't like to trust any of those world leaders debates on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general.
Even in politics mate because they are clueless, a very clear example is from my beloved country.
1106  Other / Beginners & Help / Trend carefully while reading Trump Tweets about Bitcoin on: July 12, 2019, 09:18:00 PM
A mans thought aren't perfect and their heart filled with wickedness; haven your own country currency backed with tin air and accusing another of just holding on tin air is unfair to humanity and shouldn't be from an elite like D. Trump.

As a newbie, never listen or read These guys tweets that has to do with Cryptocurrency or Bitcoin itself because they will lead you to the part of destruction and still enslave you and your generation. The decentralization of Bitcoin is what makes them panic as world leaders, remember that, many other notable leaders had one time and the other attacked Bitcoin because of it decentralization. We needed  freedom and were given the freedom by N. SATOSHI, all hail the freedom giver, because they can't control the tin air(Bitcoin)
They are afraid, and this is just the beginning.....
1107  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advise to Newbies looking to join bounties on: July 12, 2019, 08:44:32 PM
If a project allows newbies to promote their project then its not really good project to join since you will end up getting nothing by promoting those shits.
Basically they will end up getting some reward that will be meaningless to their hustle. Apparently most of this Hunters get paid with shit and dead tokens from their campaign and at the end, efforts be wasted , time and resources. Personally I hate bounty and will wait for my turn to join any and if I am to.join, I.must do my research before participate.
1108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump is tweeting about Bitcoin O.O thoughts? on: July 12, 2019, 08:29:50 PM
If you base your finances on what a complete moron like Trump thinks, then you might as well just burn all your money in a pile.  Roll Eyes

He speak without thinking and I wonder if he understand the financial language or term when we say cryptocurrency is backed by so and so, if Bitcoin is just in tin air backed by nothing, then, what about the dollar? What actually backed the US Dollar? He's just another jerky behind the mirror.

See you have a complete brain, with a frontal lobe and everything. He has a brain stem, so all he can do is repeat a sound he heard or follow a glittery object with his eyes.
 Cheesy
He actually does based on his replies to his government opposition and now, he has extended the same to cryptocurrency industry, his thought seem retarded and need a psychiatrist with immediate effect.

1110  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty alone is not enough to promote a project on: July 04, 2019, 04:27:20 PM
~ A lot of projects launch their tokensale and they rely mainly on their bounty campaigns to help bring in investors and therefore are unable to reach their goals

There are projects that never conducted ICO before they get into the mind of millions, simply becasue of the potentials embedded on the said project. Productive project will not need ICO to survive among it contemporary if well structured to pull investors into investing with the project. What we see among projects of this days is: copy pasted projects especially those Bounty on Bounty Altcoins section, very few are worth attention even at that not 89%.

Quote
If a project wants to launch its tokensale then the team should employ real mean of promotion like paying top influencers, attending blockchain submmits to network, advertisements on top sites like coinmarketcap and Icodrops, etc.

For the purpose of clarity, that's not a yardstick to a successful project even though it add-up-to.
1111  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New way of scam, be aware on: July 04, 2019, 02:33:40 PM
Seems scammers are really working doubly hard at this time. As the market recovers, scammers are also recovering their oldest tricks to delude people.

Just don't trust anyone.

Its has always be whenever there's a rise in the price of Bitcoin, but for this type of scam; it's not too hard to detect becasue of their offering of profit. Basically, this's intended to scam nobs around the world of cryptocurrency and not an average Bitcoiners. More reason why we must educate this community against such attacks. Gone are those days where they acted and many fall as prey to their scam, not now again.

1113  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: “risk-free”, “absolutely safe” and “guaranteed profit”, Latest scam!! on: June 22, 2019, 11:43:19 AM
Yes, you're absolutely right! Most scams are full of such headlines. If I see these words, I immediately conclude that there are deceiving people. In extreme cases, if it is not a fraud, the collection of information about users for resale. Beware of scams!

At this junction of Bitcoin surge we should intensify efforts to spread news of potential scam across to protect newbie investors in the world of cryptocurrency. There will be more headlines this time; more than never, lets be aware of potential scam and fraud.
1114  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice for newbies on: June 22, 2019, 11:28:16 AM
Absolutely correct, there are observable facts that whenever the price of Bitcoin surge; there's always issues with exchanges and basically unprotected wallets(Web wallets among others). The last time i wanted to buy hardware wallets; i couldn't find that which will ship down to my country (Nigeria), will appreciate any suggestion from those who can help becasue, one need to protect her investment before be ruin by anonymous group who are stirring at the price.

1118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How we came about satoshi (the smallest unit of Bitcoin) in history of Bitcoin on: June 19, 2019, 10:17:21 AM
will be the smallest unit that could be recorded on Bitcoin blockchain
It isn't the smallest unit that could be recorded. It is the smallest unit recorded presently, but it is possible to further subdivide bitcoin if needed, although it would require a hardfork to do so.
~~~
And, i don't believe we need another hard-fork again if it will be possible, becasue; we have seen many forks without tangible benefits to Bitcoin, rather misleading other potential investors to invest into their fork Obliviousness. If you ask me; we are okay with satoshi, if it will require a hardfork to subdivide bitcoin again.
1119  Other / Beginners & Help / How we came about satoshi (the smallest unit of Bitcoin) in history of Bitcoin on: June 18, 2019, 03:18:31 PM
Many Newbies misunderstood the word “satoshi” and many of them refer to Satoshi Nakamoto when talking or discussing about “Satoshi” in question.  Here are some few threads that ignorantly talked or discussed about Satoshi Nakamoto, but often use the word “Satoshi”. Whenever we discuss satoshi, we aren’t talking about Satoshi Nakamoto because, staoshi is “the smallest unit that could be recorded on the bitcoin blockchain” and not the creator of Bitcoin.
Is Satoshi Alive? ,
Implications of Satoshi holding 10% of bitcoins , Satoshi help! ,
Satoshi Disappear Day ,
Reasons Satoshi probably is, or isn't Julian Assange?
This was the first move by ribuck which was a proposal but, members of Bitcointalk.org denied his proposal on this thread because, it was out of place, due to its nature(Poll). But later he joined another thread which was for "Unicode character for Bitcoin and he asked this question", “What's the plan for subdividing Bitcoins? Do we go in thousands like the metric system (millibits, microbits, nanobits)?”, members where not willing to give an answer to his proposal, and his ideal expired.
Feb. 10, 2011, ribuck make another comment in relation to unit account denominations and this time it was done properly on this thread More divisibility required - move the decimal point ,
and eight days later, there was a reply to his question on this thread Bitcent?
created by Kolbas , on this thread a user reinstated ribuck proposal of:
“1 satoshi = 1 microbitcent (smallest denomination)
100 million satoshis = 1 bitcoin
Are we agreed?”
And other users supported, it was agreed that: 0.00000001, will be the smallest unit that could be recorded on Bitcoin blockchain, and it was called satoshi from that day.
What's your take on this findings mate?
Please don't spam on this thread.
