1121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Self employed open source retirement fund, retire in only 10 years! on: August 12, 2015, 08:47:25 PM
Great! At this rate you will be a millionaire in 10 years, indeed. But then why we need to buy in? BTW what you going to tell us when ORB goes back to 3k-5k sats, where it spent the most of the last two years?
1122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's up with all these people switching to BitcoinXT? on: August 12, 2015, 08:13:36 PM
Are there any exchanges what taking XT? I guess if I bring a copy of my BTC wallets to the XT chain then I can dump it let's say for LTC while holding the very same BTC on the main chain.  Am I right?
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone selling NXT for ETH? on: August 12, 2015, 08:04:39 PM
"Saved"

Thanks for making ethereum more well known with this meme. Make it go viral for upvotes

Actually this isn't a positive meme... just sayin'

BTW take a look at Sofu's comment. When you can do that with ETH then you can come back for bragging about your silver medal Smiley. (Just try to be quick before HZ or NEM takes that second and perhaps the third place as well.)
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone selling NXT for ETH? on: August 12, 2015, 04:09:40 PM
No way. NXT is an already working, feature rich financial system and the asset exchange constantly making some passive earnings for me. ETH isn't ready yet, if you compare it to NXT, it has limited features. Later I'm, planning to use both systems.
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who wants to fork ethereum? on: August 12, 2015, 04:02:49 PM
Come back when you've got more than that shitty logo.

Trying to kill ethereum the same way you tried to kill Bitcoin with your copycat antics won't work.

Thanks for the tribute though. It shows how shook you all are by ETH.

I think no one trying to kill ETH. Actually these guys like it... just want to eliminate a few controversial things like premine, ICO, insider trading, etc. Smiley. Even ETH can profit from a little bit of parallel development and competition.
1126  Other / Politics & Society / Re: VOTE Is this 911 scenario realistic to you? on: August 12, 2015, 03:55:37 PM
No this isn't realistic at all. I can make up much better scenarios Smiley. What do you think about making sure that Russia not going to get access to warm water oceanic ports and can't build pipelines to those, by taking over or isolating Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Iran. Bonus: controlling all the oil, gas, existing pipelines and other natural resources over there. To achieve all of these goals they needed a casus belli...
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Mining, Fair Launch, No ICO, Based on Ethereum. on: August 12, 2015, 03:44:32 PM
This coin sounds good for me. The Franko guys used to be trustworthy folks. BTW don't listen to the "pure pow" freaks. A mixed PoW PoS coin going to be fine. ...also please ignore the ETH shills Smiley.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PSA: Keep calm and buy ETH on: August 12, 2015, 02:55:32 PM
Fine, ignore my advice. You are only shooting yourself in the foot.

If you think Ethereum should be valued less than the shit app Uber ($40billion) be my guest. When ethereum could kill Uber and a million other shit apps.
All you can do is call me a shill. Something I have no way of disproving.

Why don't you come with some counter arguments ?

Ethereum or one of its clones will surely beat a lot of "shit app" sometimes in the future. But not now. It's still in early beta, no services, no applications yet, it's barely useful, and pretty far from being complete. So IMO it's overpriced for it's current state and usefulness. Let's discuss the price again when it reaches at least a "release candidate" level.
1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Give me a logical reason why Vanilla coin is not a top ten coin? on: August 11, 2015, 10:04:13 PM
It is not a bug. It is complete lack of Byzantine fault tolerance. A bug is an implementation error. This is a holistic design error. There is no design. Virtual synchrony is his claimed method. Virtual synchrony does not provide Byzantine fault tolerance.

What more is there for me prove? You are asking me to prove a dog isn't a cat. Isn't it obvious a dog is not a cat.

You are right, virtual synchrony does not provide Byzantine agreements, indeed. The white paper and the explanations in the Vanilla coin topics are also a bit sketchy without too many details. Some more details about the locking mechanism would be nice.
1130  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Yvette Cooper calls for UN intervention over escalating Calais migrant crisis on: August 11, 2015, 11:15:01 AM
How many of these immigrants the Labour leadership planning to feed and housing? I mean from their own pocket on their own property? BTW the UN proved to be powerless, incompetent and corrupt in almost any case it intervened in the past, why anyone should accept them as judges?
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone actually asked how much ETH is needed for 'fuel' on: August 11, 2015, 11:02:25 AM
I think there's a more important question about ETH. You know now we have fuel, we have miners, we have channels where users can obtain that fuel from the miners, but we have no idea if there will be any users at all. So the real question is who will use ETH as a "fuel" instead of using as a speculative stuff?
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop hating on BobSurplus? on: August 11, 2015, 10:53:19 AM
Well, except the ones that have been exploited.  lol

Anyways, this isn't about the carpet steamer.

I've learned quite a bit from Bob over the past few weeks and hope to continue to learn more.  He understands what's going on in these markets far better than everyone hating on him.

Nobody (or almost nobody) doubt that Bob has a good understanding in these markets and people could learn a lot from him. But you two guys just hijacking this thread with your personal vendetta, instead of letting us learn how to stop worrying and love the Bomb... I mean Bob Wink.
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Give me a logical reason why Vanilla coin is not a top ten coin? on: August 11, 2015, 10:45:12 AM
I'll readily admit I am wrong if John Conner is able to show some details and convincing proof against Sybil attacks on the global lock consensus.
It's your duty to prove it not mine.

Actually both of you are wrong on this.
If TPTB_need_war thinks that there is a bug, he should be able to demonstrate that. If john-connor believes that's not true, he should give a detailed technical explanation about why TPTB_need_war is wrong. ...and so on.

These "There's a bug you scammer!" "No, I don't think so. Mkay?" style discussions doesn't make too much sense.
1134  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China Read Emails of Top U.S. Officials... Since At Least April 2010 on: August 10, 2015, 10:17:04 PM
Im under the impression the biggest leaders out there are complete computer illiterates and may use weak passwords, obvious recovery phrasses etc, so getting their actual emails is having half the job done. Look at the Palvin incident. Those guys are complete idiots when it comes to digital security.

Politicians are used to be ignorant old farts who are complete idiots about almost anything except pocketing taxpayers money, and extracting lucrative bribes from companies in exchange for screwing the taxpayers :/.
1135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop hating on BobSurplus? on: August 10, 2015, 09:52:12 PM
P.S. - He works with REAL devs if you haven't noticed and doesn't get involved in shitcoins like you put out.  Also, he'd probably want them listed on an exchange and we know they avoid you like the plague as they should.

Actually many of his coins are still listed on major exchanges. Just to be factual. Personally I never been particularly interested in his coins but as I've seen most of those coins were solid, properly coded stuff.
1136  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China Read Emails of Top U.S. Officials... Since At Least April 2010 on: August 10, 2015, 09:44:13 PM
The Chinese used to hack all sorts of stuff in the States... and... well everywhere else too. So what's the news about this Smiley? To be honest I wouldn't be too surprised if next year the Chinese secret service would send me a notification about the coming birthday of my wife :/.
... Only if you have access to government secrets on a daily basis. Pressure point...

That's the fashion of this year Smiley. A couple of years ago in the States some security guys found signs what pointed to a much wider scope, like utility companies, power plants, water distribution systems and such things.

1138  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin tries to claim the North Pole. on: August 10, 2015, 09:13:21 PM
For example, the distance between Yokohama and Rotterdam is 17,913 km via the Suez canal, and 11,279 km via the Northern Sea Route.

In addition to the shorter distance in the near future the northern trade routes going to be the safe places as the arab countries around the Suez canal and the Red Sea are getting more and more unstable. We should open a bitcoin casino and brothel somewhere there on one of the unclaimed patches Smiley.
1139  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Indian Air Force humiliates the RAF on: August 10, 2015, 08:40:29 PM
"Sukhoi su-30Mk1: Russia's best" that's pretty funny as the SU-30Mk1 is an export model built exclusively for the IAF, therefore never been used by Russia and not as good as the domestic SU-30SM model and not even close to the SU-35 or to the coming PAK-FA fighters.
1140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Give me a logical reason why Vanilla coin is not a top ten coin? on: August 10, 2015, 08:30:42 PM
I'm thinking about investing in it, I bought a little but wondering on more.

My hypothesis is simple, it sends and confirms under a second, is decentralised and is anonomous. In the end that really what people want, ie send money instantly with no double spend, who wants to wait a few minutes to buy something?

Right or wrong?

Pretty simple: lack of real demand. There are plenty of established coins with the same or similar features, and with lot more marketing. BTW functionality sometimes means nothing. Take a look at Qora or NXT and then take an other look at the big bunch of copy-paste-no invention shitcoins with far better exchange rates.
