1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Vote For A Coin Review Panel Here On BTCTalk. on: July 27, 2014, 10:30:30 PM
Too many coins getting release and more than half are scams. It would be nice if there was a Coin Review Panel here on this forum. Some form of protection from everyone. What's you ideas for protection against these potential scam coins? Research is enough at times.
1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Doomcoin](DOOM) CPU-only/Anon Luffa-512 Algo Launch within 24 hours. on: July 27, 2014, 10:21:08 PM
Isn't luffa part of the x* algos?

I might be wrong, but isn't the X series coins use Luffa-256 and not Luffa-512.

Great to see some of the pools finally be active to potential scam coins. Wish this was implement to CNL and few other coins also....

Next step, exchanges need to be active.

There really needs to be regulation on letting people starting and maintaining coins. One thing to have decentralization, but some people abuse that and take advantage of that privilege.

Regulation!!!

Next you'll want the fed involved.. :-(

Um, sometimes that's a good thing.

Imagine no government, no law enforcement and no jails. That's would be like the wild west all over again.

I believe in the crypto community, coin creation, coin products/services and coin transactions should be decentralized, but the scam active of a few devs needs to be kept in check. Not necessarily a government, but maybe a panel here in this forum to overview coin releases and prevent them just making potential scam coins, if people would mind volunteering some time.
1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitTor (BT) x13 PoW. Privacy done right. Launched on: July 27, 2014, 09:57:04 PM
As suggested by some of you we are relaunching the coin tomorrow with a smaller premine (0.3%) and with a clean code. Launch will happen tomorrow (7pm gmt).

Ok hold on everyone, I just looked for myself, the genesis block isn't even compatible.  Why those coins were there is a mystery, but my money is they forgot to take it out from whatever they cloned or tested with.  They can't even withdraw or spend those coins, you fudders need to stop pretending you know what you're talking about.

This is true and I've been trying to convince fuders of this with no success.

If and when you do the relaunch, please provide the address to where the premine is. If you want to gain people's trust, you need to be transparent. Same goes for other plans for the coin. Don't be another CNL and other coins like that....

Looking to throw some cash into this. What sets it apart?

A dev that stuck around after the first 24 hours, nowadays that's gold

Funny. But anything real?
thats about as real as it gets these days.dev still is a big bonus Grin

CNL is an example of a horrible dev.
1147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is more Power Efficient on: July 25, 2014, 10:51:41 PM
guys guys .... the question why i made the thread is not answered yet ....

Your question is a little vague. Do you mean power efficient in respect of hash power or just low power? I'm just assuming the power efficient per hash power.

exactly ....

example

if im mining myr

and im getting same  X myr coins using both algorithm MYR-grostil and Qubit ...... which one use less electric

same here lets say im mining a coin that uses x11-13-15  and getting the exact amount of coins for each algorithm .... which one use less electric

I would say HVY is the most power efficient per hash, but not necessarily the most profitable.

Still stuck at 3666, even after deleting everything in the appdata folder and running the updated wallet. Any solutions?

Have patience they are working on it.

I am....

Finally got something clear now.
This is definitely the dev's first coin to develop.
If he would have created many shits out there, this kind of small issues and communication lag won't be there.
So, we can put our faith at the most in here.
The rest all are in developers hands.

Hope the dev makes sure all the correct files are properly bundled in the wallet execution including :

libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll
libwinpthread-1.dll

Also, maybe some nodes for the .conf file.

It seems like a node issue.....
1150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does a noob friendly mining program exist? on: July 25, 2014, 10:24:13 PM
Everyone starts as a noob, mostly everyone, in the crypto world. You just have to educate yourself and run whatever is most efficient, not necessarily the easiest. You still have to create conf file, bat file ,etc. So, a GUI type miner would be nice to start, but eventually you have to get away from that.
1151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is more Power Efficient on: July 25, 2014, 10:19:32 PM
whirlpool-->whirlcoin because it lack optimization

Doesn't it do 9300 kh/s on the latest sgminer fork by djm, that's up from 3300 kh/s....
1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is one GPU mining even feasible now? on: July 25, 2014, 10:14:38 PM
Got a new rig, with an r9 270 in it. Looking to mine something, even just for fun. Is it even feasible now, and if so, what algo?

Maybe with a single AMD R9 295x...lol

Seriously, consider hashing CryptoNote coins, BBR, DarkCash, Whirlcoin, Saffron, People's Currency (PPL) or whatever coin is profitable enough.

POS still not working ?
or more wallets need to upgrade ?

Needs to mature for 8hrs before we start seeing staking?

i have them mature.. got 3 blocks and then blockchain stuck again
deleted the blocks database, resync, and it only get to block 3666 (compiled new version from GIT)

Yup, also stuck at 3666....
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PES] Pesa - Anonymous Coin - No Premine - Dynamic Interest - PoStr on: July 25, 2014, 08:47:55 PM
An updated windows wallet was just posted, along with a new commit to the source. Please update your wallets as this should fix any POS issues. This also restarts POW as a second security measure, though mining will only be incentivized through fees and not rewards.

Sorry about the panic caused

How exactly POW is going to get incentives through fees? Please elaborate on this. What block is POW going to restart and end exactly? Have you told every single pool to update?
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PES] Pesa - Anonymous Coin - No Premine - Dynamic Interest - PoStr on: July 25, 2014, 08:16:26 PM
So POW is stopped at 3666 instead of 6000? What's the logic behind that?
1159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitShares X Now Trading!!! on: July 25, 2014, 08:08:18 AM
What's the difference between BTS X vs BTS XT? Or are they the same product? Where are the other DAC's?

If any newly mined PTS, will that get more BTS X or was that only for the Feb 28th snapshot only?

X is the official chain.  XT is the test network.  There was some talk of naming a stripped down chain designed to do nothing other than get the 2-28 snapshot liquid, XT.  Newly mined PTS will not get you any BTSX, but there are more DACS coming.

So, if I acquire more PTS, it will still count towards the future DAC's(minus BTSX)?
