Anyone could please TL;DR what ATC said?
I don't understand the use of "TL;DR" as a transitive verb? transitive verb tl;dr = 'summarize' 10mBtc for a nice tl;dr post Edit: Ok, 50mBtc for it, I really want to know what is all about in this thread.

Take your business else where.
I, for one, would prefer that illegal activity not take place on the bitcointalk.org forums.
Thank you.
+1, I think you're a great guy but please trade on other forums.

What normally gives it away is that on their social media there is not a single 'Get Well Soon' message...
Interesting, didn't thought looking after that one. Dunno if 10btc is worth more than a tarnished online identity these days

@Carlos L., here is the loan principal 38efa7f5..., and you have 1btc from me if you open up a thread to get this scammer tagged, thanks. I still have faith he'll pay back. If he does, I'll send back those 10 BTC plus 0.50 BTC (50% interest). You're a great guy, thank you so much. See here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=134283Thank you, bitcoin sent 1b0298d...

And he didn't pay -.-
Looks like a default.
The voucher should NOT be liable for the loan. It's like, "What do you think about Skyrim?" "Skyrim is great! It's so much fun. You should get it." "Skyrim sucks! Why did you tell me it was great? I'm going to kill you!"
I think I should. Will contact Stephen personally, and if in 24 hours we don't have a result I will pay back the loan principal to Carlos L., if he agrees. This is a good way to learn my lesson.

So the only time a block reorg longer than 10 blocks will ever happen is because an advanced double spending attack.
Another case is when a country or an island gets isolated from the rest of the world. I guess that's why Satoshi did not put an automatic cementing feature. But such a case can be detected due to a sudden really slower network speed ? At least, the user may know it :p In such a case the "cementing feature" would be more than useful, to lock in clients on the "island blockchain". Just imagine how would you react after trading for a whole year with your neighbors, and then a new neighbor comes in with a satellite link to the Internet and the whole island blockchain is dumped the moment first wallet updates (assuming the main chain is longer). I know I would be pissed, and at least would like to have the option to keep doing business on the "island blockchain". The moment you have a group of bitcoin users that work and trade over a blockchain fork for a period larger than a week, you can confidently say they are trading in their own digital currency, and there isn't an easy way to deal with it at the blockchain level. This is similar to bitcoin tech ported onto other planets, which in absence of some low latency telecommunication channel, that would naturally create their own local currency.

I want to buy a ticket to space with BTC !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fS1FxBq64AHey, not so long from now SpaceX will be selling tickets to mars for 500,000. And i bet by 2023 everyplace will take Bitcoins, who knows maybe we will begin sending Bitcoins to mars? Whats a safe number of confirmations to a transaction to mars? It depends of what you get in exchange but usually 6 confirms, same as on Earth.

Don't expect Krugman to really grasp complex concepts as this one. Here is an accurate description cited from Erik's blog: http://evoorhees.blogspot.com.esI wouldn't expect Krugman to "get it," but wiser/real economists need only observe metals to start understanding why Bitcoins have value.

... LOL. I can so relate to this. My wife to me in the car while driving to meet a couple for dinner whom we hadn't known long: "you're not going to start talking about Bitcoin, are you?" Me: "hey, if it comes up, it comes up." Suffice it to say, it came up.
Tell me about it, lol, it comes up naturally. @Yankee (BitInstant), great, waiting forward to it
