I hope the common folk get the issue soon, as it seems like the high profile people got it first?  Wink

Low profile people just keep low profile perhaps?  Grin

Just so you know, there is 10 to a bundle and 50 to a book.  Tongue

Grin At least we got one right.

One paranoid little question. I shouldn't have any problems changing my shipping address down the line?

Just email support@bitcoinmagazine.net with any problems. Keep receipt, it helps.

We'll have a look into the newsletter thing. Thank You.
1164  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: May 25, 2012, 01:05:41 AM
I ordered a bundle of 50 copies.  Can't wait to get them!

That bundle is on it's way.

1165  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: May 25, 2012, 12:41:48 AM
Wait Wait, can I still get a May issue? Someone said something about buying/reading a copy from Barnes & Noble?

This is what I get for not lurking as often as I should.

Getting a magazine into Barnes & Noble is not an easy and not a quick process. Issue #1 stands no chance of ever getting onto B&N newsstands. If we are lucky we should be able to get there sometime in Fall or late Summer at best.

Simply go to http://bitcoinmagazine.co.uk/subscribe/ make your choice and subscribe. If you buy a single issue it will be #1, if you buy a subscription it will start from #1. If you buy a bundle it will be a bunch of #1's.

Sometime soon we will change the order page and then there will be options to buy either #1 or #2 single copy, or subscription starting from #1 or #2.

Also check out bundles, if you want to give away magazines it is the best option.

Thank you all and sorry for annoying you guys. It was fun.  Grin

I now will be leaving this thread until "I told you so" moment arrives. Take care.

What is so difficult to understand here?

Your borrowers whatever they say to you could simply funnel borrowed money to a ponzi scheme. You do not need to know about it, and your borrowers would not tell you. Once the master ponzi implodes they default on your loans. Do defaults concern you?

More importantly, the higher your interest rates the less chances that they funnel it to anything else but a ponzi scheme.

BTC rises, your borrowers who converted BTC into USD are unable to pay off your loans they default. This does not concerns you too apparently.

And note that I am not really talking about specifically your borrowers and your business, more about the whole BTC lending marketplace.

you have missed that he is also a sole shareholder
1169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A day in the life of a pirate. on: May 24, 2012, 10:25:03 PM
I'm a lazy starfish, and I know where my talents are.  And while I know of ways to use bitcoin to make higher returns, that's simply not my best field of operation.  I'll stick to 200% to 300% per year.

I am in complete agreeement with Patrick. The bitcoin lending scene is highly profitable.

I am in complete agreement with both of you too. With one caveat: past performance does not guarantee future results

Let's just wait and see how this market will react on demise of MMM and on BTC volatility, specifically on upside.

Who cares about desktop?

repentance, Mr Heaslip is most likely simply a nomini shareholder and director. This means that Bitcoinica LP general partner decided to pay extra 1000-2000 a year to obfuscate who is indeed General Partner of Bitcoinica LP.

This also means that we do not know exactly who is General Partner is and when it changes. It could be any kind of a chain of offshore trusts and companies for all we know.

1172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A day in the life of a pirate. on: May 24, 2012, 09:39:20 PM
P.S. Or is it by any chance you just have no idea how to calculate compound interest?

Even without compound interest, 7% a week is ~360% a year.

All the proof we need.

31st of Dec 2013, 1 BTC is above 500$.
1174  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: May 24, 2012, 09:27:28 PM
Awesome! Great to see the first report! I have not received my copy just yet.

That skeleton or what we call "the wall page" is quite special. But my lips are sealed. More details about that strange page in #2 or #3.
1175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A day in the life of a pirate. on: May 24, 2012, 09:02:27 PM
I personally know of at least a half-dozen ways to make the kind of returns Pirate does, and they're relatively simple too (I'm busy and lazy), and I only spent about a week or two thinking about it (surfing the net helps).

Oh really? You do know how to make 6000% annual return! Cool beans! I bet you then could get Warren Buffet out of biz by the end of 2013 (if only you were not that lazy, of course).

I wish I was half that smart.

P.S. Or is it by any chance you just have no idea how to calculate compound interest?

1176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any trustable e-wallet services? on: May 24, 2012, 11:14:58 AM
Are there any trustable e-wallet services? I'm looking for one that allows multiple wallets in one account.

Short answer: no.

This kind of mindset ("one cannot trust anyone in the bitcoin community") is exactly what can delay a broader adoption of bitcoin.

IMHO, Bitcoin is not about removing the need for trusted third party (they will be needed for as long as there are dishonest counterparties in electronic transactions):
its about giving people the freedom to chose between transacting directly or transacting through a trusted third party.

Maybe you are correct. I, however, prefer to have my bitcoins safe and sound and to "trust nobody". For me it is better for Bitcoin to take twice that long to get mass adoption, then to get myself a X kBTC MyBitcoin moment.

So far my approach worked for me just fine. I bet many fans of "trusted" 3rd parties cannot say so.

Also you have conveniently forgot to quote this:

Longer answer: Depends on the amount...

So general partner is Core Credit Limited, with accountant as probably nomini director. Very shady if so.

By law, details of limited partners are private.

So it is basically a limited partnership with a limited company as General Partner having it seems a sole nomini director AND a sole nomini shareholder. And who knows how many limited companies in how many jurisdictions are below that. These guys are well prepared for any (civil) legal assault and any civil case would be pointless.

Why such a shady corporate setup guys?

What are you hiding there?

Do you think this is acceptable for such a company to hold USD and BTC deposits taken from general public?

Coup d'état

P.S. Bitcoin should be at 50$ on entertainment value alone.

Your answer is either YES, NO, or NDA.

Please!

Guys can someone please pull public information from NZ companies house (even if it costs to get some by paying 10 dollars or so) and post it here.
