Is acception really a word...? Exception yes, but acception?

Google says yes, but obsolete. I think acceptance would fit better. Anyway, sorry for being pedantic, please carry on with your regularly scheduled pumping, trolling, etc.

VTC is not pumping because of segwit. The volume is off the charts and suggests somebody with very deep pockets has taken an interest in this coin. Price will easily go at least 2x 3x from here with much less money needed.

Looks more like random polo pump to me, not someone taking a serious interest. You think someone was taking a serious interest in Bitcoin plus or Bytecoin or the twenty other complete garbage coins that pumped off the chart in poloniex recently (not saying vert is garbage, just that a polo pump doesn't mean much).

It's not a random pump, somebody has planned this for some time. By taken an interest I did not meant long term interest. I meant somebody with deep pockets has decided to play with this coin and the current price/volume suggests he is not done yet.

I agree, think there was too much money flowing through to be random. Timing started with this period too and looks like Segwit might finally win. I think someone with deep pockets both bought a ton and rented some serious mining power to make sure it goes through.

I don't mean random like someone just woke up one morning and decided to pump Vertcoin, of course there was probably long accumulation period and the timing was done to coincide with big push for segwit activation. But just look at the charts on polo - every single coin pumps occasionally, often for no identifiable reason. Recently it was Bitcoin plus, Bytecoin, pinkcoin, and others I can't think of off the top of my head. Vertcoin was about due, and I think they just choose segwit drama to provide some hook to get people to buy.

why is this dead shitcoin being pumped on polo, must be the dev pumping and dumping on noobs to rip off their arses and make more money

what a desperate guy  Embarrassed

The dev is an undergraduate college student with little to no money, afaik. I don't think he's organizing pumps that are doing $10M+ worth of volume a day.

I've got 4500 VTC stored in a offline wallet (from about 2 years ago),  can I continue to keep it there?

Just want to make sure I don't lose my coins because of some change happening.

Yes, you can keep it there.

Hi guys. Need help. i stuck on sinchronization of block chain!!! 2 days i see this message
Block with id: <2fb394d67664ed3d20939a533c7c13088001b49e63f2e892af2315d81c90a442> failed to add transaction to blockchain storage

try to sinchronize on final update of aeond on linux
i try to synchronize from 0 block

That is a very strange error, as that block is from 2 years ago. Are you by chance trying to use a 32 bit build?

Linux x64
aeond build from this repository - https://github.com/aeonix/aeon.git
now i've deleted everything in .aeon and start from begining

Did you have any power outages or unexpected shutdown or you killed aeond with 9s or anything when you were trying to sync the first time?

1188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 09, 2017, 02:42:17 PM
...

The network is a separate layer from the witnessing, but if you mean the progression of transactions, or that its actually usable, lets go with that.  Each user can change 1 witness and witnessing goes on as usual, it doesnt affect how the DAG looks like at all. Its the majority of witnesses which matters, as long as a majority exists, even if several witnesses are replaced with many many other, and only 6 remain, it all still works.

The other question, but a user replaces all or 2 witnesses with his own, has been answered, those are invalid transactions. An attack on Byteball is possible only if already existing witnesses collude and conspire.

As you see, it is a very genius concept, a major major invention by Byteball, so it is hard for simpler minds like CfBs to fully grasp it. But he does like to post pictures, look a few pages back when he tried to compare Byteballs DAG to Ethereum blockchain with pictures,  Cheesy.

He hasnt even read the whitepaper, is just trolling and spreading FUD, every single one of his posts in this thread has been with intent to FUD.

I haven't dove deep into the technicals of this coin, but from what I understand currently all 12 witnesses are controlled by tonych, so at this point an attack is possible if tonych becomes malicious or if he is coerced into doing something. To me, it's not clear how the transition from one person controlling all 12 witnesses to having them be distributed is likely or possible to occur - it would require active intervention on behalf of (almost) everyone making txs on the network, right? Most people don't care about stuff like this, especially if this doesn't happen early - the more users the higher proportion of them will be casual users who don't care about technical stuff like this.
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-04-05: update to 0.9.11.0] on: April 07, 2017, 10:11:58 PM
Block time is 4 minutes. However, the last couple of hours there have been fewer than expected blocks. It happens.

The number of coins don't matter, although the size of the transaction in bytes can make a difference (bigger txs are harder to fit in a block).

Block explorers that I know of

minergate.com
chainradar.com

Thanks ... all of my transactions have shown up.   Probably it did take a lot of block space since my wallet is filled with 0.5 transactions from mining.

Yup that is exactly what causes problems like this. I had the same issue on other coins.
Is there a good solution for the large number of transactions from mining?

I've considered periodically consolidating my miner earnings into a separate wallet.

Not really. Consolidate periodically. Solo mine. Start your own pool with higher payout threshold.

Guys,

Please spell out BTFD & STFT.  Some people don't know what they mean including myself.  No offense or calling names. thanks.

Btw, was GRS approved by Polo accurate?

BTFD = buy the fucking dip. Assuming STFT = sell the fucking top. No idea about poloniex.
1191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 06, 2017, 08:36:17 PM
Woof... some forgotten bids just got landed on.  Wonder if I should hold on to this or take the instaprofit.

Might be a good idea to take the insta profit, considering BTC might keep pushing up, alts might take a deeper dive.
1192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins with SegWit support [actually: GRS, SYS] on: April 06, 2017, 06:03:19 PM
Lol don't drag me into this shit please. I have exactly two accounts, this one and poptartcat which I started start Nyancoin thread (the real #1 shitcoin without segwit). Groestl does have an iOS wallet I believe though.

Not to wander too far off-topic, but I wouldn't touch Gulden with a 33 and a half foot pole. Big premine (10%) that was supposed to be for air drop to Dutch people, but then after launch the dev(s) decided to just keep it for themselves and use as they see fit. Also, emission was slashed after launch, so that big premine (10% of total coins) makes up an even larger percent of available supply (I think ~40% of current supply). And if you go ask any questions in their unlocked speculation thread you tend to get no serious answers, just attacked by several trolls with memes and juvenile insults. All this for a Litecoin clone makes it seem...pretty shit coiny.

careful your jealousy is showing again, gulden wallet is way better than anything your pet groestl shitcoin has.
gulden has a lot more unique code in it than most other coins here but you want to call it a clone while praising crap like groestl? give us some of the shit you are smoking mate it must be real good

Gulden speculation trolls are leaking  Roll Eyes Of the coins mentioned in this thread, I own some Groestl, but more in terms of USD or BTC value of Vertcoin and Litecoin. I was just stating some facts about why I wouldn't hold any Gulden, and rather than refute those facts, you just...did what it is you do.

I believe another couple coins that are on latest Bitcoin codebase are Huntercoin and Namecoin, but I don't think either supports or plans to support segwit.
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NYAN] NyanCoin - ★★★V1.3 Released!★★★ on: April 06, 2017, 01:49:31 PM
can't find any wallets.

Windows wallets are here: https://github.com/Nyancoins/nyancoin-client/releases

I'll update ANN thread when I get on computer with that account, thanks for pointing that out.
1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins with SegWit support [actually: GRS, SYS] on: April 06, 2017, 01:47:11 PM
GRS and litecoin are the only coins that have updated to 0.13 codebase to implement segwit, the rest of the coins are still on a older codebase version but only added segwit for HYPE. The rest is done for hype except for GRS and litecoin.

This is false. Vertcoin is on 0.13 codebase and signaling for several weeks. Presumably Syscoin and monacoin have upgraded as well since I think they both hardforked to activate segwit. And I believe guldencoin is on v0.13 and they just choose to not activate segwit at all.

I read up on Gulden last night , it looks like they were the first to update to 0.13 along with many other features, I am surprised this coin isn't talked about much on bitcointalk.  They doing a project called Prime which might be the reason they didn't implement segwit.

im surprised you think anyone would take you seriously with your sockpuppet account and sudden interest about some shitcoin...

GRS and Syscoin are my favourites. I never brought up Gulden, jwinterm did.

No, you missed it. The snapshot was at block 1680000. There's only one snapshot. It's weird price hasn't dumped harder, maybe random polo pump incoming...

If there's only a "so-called community" here, and IRC and reddit are dead, then where is the community actually using the coin? If no one's using the coin, then why would any theoretical institutional investor want to buy dnote's stash? Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining or requesting updates or anything, the whole situation just seems crazy to me - trying to run an ico three years after a coin launched when nearly all coins have been mined, and no one actually uses or cares to discuss said coin besides bellyaching about the price or lack of tweets from dev on shitcointalk.
