121  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-01-08] Roger Ver Denied US Visa to Attend Miami Bitcoin Conference on: January 09, 2015, 12:32:56 AM
The part that I don’t think I did a good enough job of conveying over twitter and in the media is that the Barbados embassy was behaving insanely during the interview process.  They were denying my visa, claiming that I hadn’t shown sufficient ties out side of the USA, while I was begging them to let me show them.  I had a whole stack of paperwork proving my 9 year history in Japan, including a business since 2006 with multiple employees.  They literally refused to even look at the paperwork.  They wouldn’t even let me slide it through the slot in their window for them to review.  They had the nerve to claim that I hadn’t proved sufficient ties to a country outside of the USA, while literally refusing to even look at the proof I was offering.
They did this same thing three separate times over eight days. It felt like something out of the Twilight  Zone.

123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Billboard! on: September 24, 2014, 06:42:05 AM
It is hard to see in the photo, but each of the dark monks has a necklace with a different fiat currency symbol on it:
$, £, €, etc.

I think it is about time for a new billboard,  so if anyone has any good ideas for the next one,  please post it here.
124  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Bouny Hunter: Satoshi Nakamoto email hacker bounty discussion on: September 18, 2014, 05:24:09 PM
Nobody cares about your email hack and you are just trying to inflate your importance by associating yourself with Satoshi.

If you don't care,  please don't post in my thread.
125  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinBountyHunter.com Bitcoin Bounties to catch the crooks! on: September 18, 2014, 06:17:54 AM
@Roger:  You mention on the page that you eventually want BBH to be distributed... Have you considered talking to the OpenBazaar devs to see if you can get it included into that software? I've seen the beta; this thing could replace amazon & the Silk Road both someday.

I'm very interested in and supportive of OpenBazaar.
I'm confident distributed hosting of some sort will be available within the next few years.
Currently I'm trying to figure out a way to make the payouts trustless using something like http://realitykeys.com/
126  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Bouny Hunter: Satoshi Nakamoto email hacker bounty discussion on: September 18, 2014, 06:06:14 AM
It is ambiguous: Satoshi & Roger Ver Hacker actually means Satoshi OR Roger or Satoshi AND Roger?

It is pretty clear that the hacker is the same person for both instances.  They are using the same names,  and profile images.

The part that really really has me mad at this person, is that they claim to have swatted quadriplegic Hal Finney recently.

If true,  that should make everyone's blood boil.

8:44:56 PM Savaged: Lol
8:45:06 PM Documents@Jabb3r.org: You did?
8:45:09 PM Savaged: Like I said before, he didn't realize I was joking about "backing down"
8:45:26 PM Savaged: I attacked his disabled family
8:45:52 PM Savaged: Which wouldn't of needed to happen if he just did what I told him to do
8:47:00 PM Savaged: You know who Hal Finney is?
8:47:16 PM Documents@Jabb3r.org: Yes.
8:47:23 PM Savaged: Do you like him?
8:48:00 PM Documents@Jabb3r.org: Why?
8:48:29 PM Savaged: Let's just say http://www.noozhawk.com/article/possible_shooting_reported_on_arroyo_road_in_goleta_20140529
8:48:38 PM Savaged: After that happened Ver gave up his coins
8:49:25 PM Savaged: I don't even know who you are so I don't know why I'm telling you shit, I'll stop now
8:49:30 PM Savaged: Until I know who you are

For the record,  I never paid Savaged anything.

Bitfloor page?

Great idea!  Can someone who was directly involved, and wants to create the content for the page contact me at ask@bitcoinbountyhunter.com ?

There have been lots of other great requests for new bounties as well.
Some of them will be online in the coming days.
128  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinBountyHunter.com Bitcoin Bounties to catch the crooks! on: September 17, 2014, 09:45:35 AM
interesting project but also a controversial one. what happens, if i post a "crime" which isnt a crime in your country? who decides which "crime" is worth a bounty and which is not? i also could fake informations or make wrongful allegations.

Until a distributed system is developed,  I will be moderating what bounties are allowed and what are not.
I will only be allowing bounties for crimes in which there is a clear victim.

132  Bitcoin / Project Development / BitcoinBountyHunter.com Bitcoin Bounties to catch the crooks! on: September 16, 2014, 06:34:41 AM
BitcoinBountyHunter.com is now live.

Now anyone can contribute bitcoins to motivate people with information on criminals to provide that information to law enforcement,  or motivate law enforcement officers to take action directly.
I've personally contributed over 40 BTC for the bounties to help get things started.
With this financial motivation I hope we can help catch the dishonest among us,  and motivate those working in law enforcement to actually take action.

I'm sure there is lots of room for improvement to the site's aesthetic and technical implementation.

Please post your suggestions for improvements to the site below.

Together we are making a better world!

134  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Roger Ver, bless him, tells that Gox is going bankrupt on: March 01, 2014, 11:24:03 AM
You have no idea what you are talking about.

1,  If I knew MTGOX was going to go bankrupt,  why would I offer to buy MTGOX BTC? (Because I didn't know at that time)
2, I haven't made a single bitcoin trade on any exchange since early January, and luckily was too busy with my other stuff to buy even a single mtgox-BTC.

You only know about 25% of what really went on.
Go troll someone else.
135  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Roger Ver : Gox "worst-run business in the history of the world". on: February 27, 2014, 02:11:01 AM
You said you did the video purely as a favor to Mt Gox, kindly tell us who at Mt Gox asked you to do the video?
Either Mark or Gonzague.

Quote
Who wrote the words that you read in that video?
I wrote it all myself.

Quote
What was your relationship with Mt Gox, and it's CEO at the time of the first video?

Nothing other than a customer of Mtgox.

Quote
You specifically said: "I made a video stating that their fiat withdrawal problems were not being caused by a lack of liquidity. I made no claims regarding their solvency."  You do realize that, "liquidity' and "solvency" are symbiotic, and that any statement by you about Mt Gox at that sensitive time would be construed as an endorsement?
Having liquidity is no guarantee of solvency.  In hindsight, we now know that Mtgox has likely been insolvent for years.
I'm sorry you have a hard time understanding the difference.

Quote
Why would you endorse Mt Gox at that troubled time in their development?
Because as stated in the video, I am sure the fiat withdrawal delays at that time were not caused by a lack of liquidity.
In hindsight,  I feel terrible about having made the video.  I was deceived by Mtgox,  and my video led to who knows how many more people trusting Mtgox, and losing money because of it.  If I could go back in time, I would never have made the video.

Quote
In this video you said: "This issue was caused by poor programming skills and a total lack of book keeping on the part of Mtgox", is it true that Mt Gox allowed you to see their books, some of their financial records?
Isn't it clear to anyone who is paying attention?  Mtgox lost everyones bitcoins and didn't notice until 99% of them were gone.

Quote
What did you know about their programming and bookkeeping and when did you know it?
I found out this week as well.

Quote
Was it before you invested the "... life changing amount of bitcoins stuck in Mtgox" or just before making this new video.
I have had about 24,000 BTC from Bitcoinica stuck in Mtgox for over a year.  Mark refused to turn over those funds to the liquidator.  Now any chance I had of getting those back are gone too.  That likely makes me one of the people who lost the most money out of everyone involved with this MtGox nightmare.

Quote
BTW: did you sign the petition to remove MT Gox CEO from the btc foundation.
I'm the one who directly asked Mark to step down.

Quote
In what ways if any did you support the protesters at Mt Gox?
I wasn't in Tokyo for most of the protest,  but the one day I was,  I tried to bring them hot tea.

With answers to those questions we could get a glimpse of that picture you are talking about.

The picture I am talking about is Bitcoin,  not my interactions with Mtgox.

136  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [VIDEO] Roger Ver says he is sorry about MTGOX on: February 26, 2014, 11:12:05 PM
I'm sorry I led people to trust Mtgox.
I'm sorry I allowed Mtgox to use me in this way.
I'm sorry I ever made that video to help Mtgox.
It seemed like the right thing at the time.

But I'm sick of people claiming I said Mtgox was was solvent!
I NEVER SAID THAT, EVER!
Liquidity != Solvency

I chose my words very carefully.
That is why I read them from my own script.
I said Mtgox had lots of LIQUIDITY 7 months ago when I made that video.
That was certainly true, but is completely different from saying that they were solvent.

Transcript:
I'm Roger Ver, long time Bitcoin advocate and investor.
Today I'm at the Mtgox world headquarters in Tokyo Japan.
I had a nice chat with MTGOX CEO, Mark Karpeles, about their current situation.
He showed me multiple bank statements, as well as letters from banks and lawyers.
I'm sure that all the current withdrawal problems at MTGOX are being caused by the traditional banking system, not because of a lack of liquidity at MTGOX.
The traditional banking partners that MTGOX needs to work with are not able to keep up with the demands of the growing Bitcoin economy.
The dozens of people that make up the MTGOX team are hard at work establishing additional banking partners, that eventually will make dealing with MTGOX easier for all their customers around the world.  For now,  I hope that everyone will continue working on Bitcoin projects that will help make the world a better place.

139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So...What Happened To Roger Ver & All The Other Gox Fanbois? on: February 09, 2014, 01:11:43 PM
"Roger Ver, who declared last July he had looked at Mt. Gox’s books and determined they were indeed still solvent
I never said this.
I already contacted coindesk asking them to fix their article.

Feel free to watch the video again:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP1YsMlrfF0

I said that the fiat withdrawal delays were not being caused by a lack of money in the bank.
That is very different from saying that they are solvent.
If I had to guess,  I do think they are solvent, just horribly mismanaged.

140  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2013-12-09] Video - Meet 'Bitcoin Jesus': This Is My Life's Calling on: January 13, 2014, 02:50:24 AM
Thanks so much for uploading it!
To be clear,  I offered $30 USD worth of Bitcoin,  not 30 BTC.

I did send a bit extra though since it sounds like this was a harder video to do.

Thanks again!
