Fucking China again…..

How long until nobody gives a shit what they do, pathetic.
Well with a billion people living there, some of which "dabble" in BTC, they will always have some impact on price whatever happens.
What is nice to see though, is that it no longer has such a large impact as it did in the past. I think that their "news" has less weight than it used to.
Patience my good man, Patience.

Does anyone have any more details regarding what is happening to bitcoin.org?
Is it going to be run by that ego maniac Wright?

bitcoin.org got hacked via Cloudfare and hosting related issues. The team was quite upset troubleshooting the event yesterday.

It is not ever likely to be acquired by either Calvin or Craig.

Thanks Bob and others who replied.
I hadn't heard much of CSW for a while and was hoping that he had faded away like a mysterious rash.

Just looking at bitcoin.org home page and I see a dispute between CSW and COBRA over the publication of the white paper.
Does anyone have any more details regarding what is happening to bitcoin.org?

I will be glad to join too.  But can we make the pentagon private on there?  I mean I suppose it would OK if strangers filled up the spots, but I assume that's not the point really?

AH!  I see we can.. OK I am in.. send me the stuffs!

it is private and pin protected.. and not listed.... i'll send you a message now...

We just need two more participants to complete the small WO hub.
Bob? You in?

Sad... He played a key part in bringing personal computers closer to the masses, to a young generation of inventors and makers that would shape the future of technology and computing for years to come.

RIP Sir Clive Sinclair, and thanks.

Yep. The ZX81 was my introduction into computing. I know it was for many here too.
As crappy as that thing was, it certainly got me hooked into computing.
Learnt how to code BASIC and I never looked back after that.
Exceptionally eccentric and brilliant man.

The large drop was almost instantaneous. This points to liquidations of positions taken out on exchanges offering silly levels of leverage. Once we dropped some 5% the liquidations began and we had a cascading effect.
I guess the noobs will never learn or this was an intentional push down by some nefarious entity (insert your favourite villain here).
The sooner we can limit leverage the better (unless you are kinggoldminer of course).

A fews days ago i saw a dream that one fine morning, i checked bitcoin price and it was 100,000$. I was so happy to see this but then my eyes opened and when i checked in reality it was around 48000$.
My friends says that i see real dreams, so this means that bitcoin will reach 100,000$ in reality  Roll Eyes

I just went out with a realtor yesterday to view a property based on the likelihood that bitcoin will be over $100k by the end of the year. I wanted to be ready.

I'll definitely be looking at a BlockFi loan as opposed to cashing out.

Tell us how it works out, Elwar! This is useful info.

I've been wanting to do something like that for a long time: extracting fiat without cashing out. I'm just very wary, because all the bitcoin lending setups I've seen in the past were scams. BlockFi looks like it's a bit different... until it turns out it really isn't?

From what I saw the US government is fighting them on the Bitcoin loans.

I figure if I get the cash in the form of a loan for the equivalent amount of BTC that I would have otherwise received via cashing out then they go bankrupt or whichever, it still qualifies as a loan as far as the IRS is concerned. Just nobody to pay the loan back to.

Trouble with this is that the ltv (loan to value) ratio is at least 50% and at worst 25% meaning that you need to put up to 4 BTC  for a loan worth 1 BTC. Too much risk for me if the company goes bust or pulls an exit scam.
What we need is these types of services with insurance to cover this scenario.

Small game …. Arrived at my holiday destination …. First to guess where I’m at land and village

I will release more pics on daily base ….

Atleast not in Europe ore America continent. You made this post at 06:42:21, it must be late evening ore night in Asia.

Bali Indonesia?

Have a nice holiday. Smiley

I only respond when it’s correct

There will be a  reward for who is able of finding and putting effort in the search

I recognize the yellow thistle and the green foxtail which we have around here as well.  Their native habitat is Eurasia.  The other weed looks like Cleavers (hitchhikers) which grows pretty much everywhere but I'm confused by the juxtaposition of the weeds and the upscale restaurant (I'm basing this on the table setting).  Based on the timing of your dinner post and the lack of sunlight it looks like you might have gone one or two time zones west.  I think you're in Greece.

Land already correct

Amazing fast homer

Now where in Greece

Crete?

You know we are in a crazy world run by emotions when tweets and triangles have more effect on price than bullish fundamentals such as countries adopting bitcoin.
I am not worried and still stack sats knwing that in the end, fundamentals trumps all.
Stay strong my fellow WO brethren.

We're eating into the mempool, 1 sat transactions going through now.
I imagine that by the end of the day the mempool will be empty once again.
Heres hoping that Monday will start things off going in the right direction. Up!

Everyone keeps looking for some signs as to what King Daddy is going to do next.
Looking at past cycles/charts to try to put some strategy in place to buy and sell.
Only a couple of months ago everyone was screaming well over 100K for this cycle and now there is so much doom and gloom around.
What does it all mean?

I look at it this way.
Why did I get into bitcoin in the first place?
Was it to make a quick buck? Hell no!
I could see that the current financial system was f*cked and guess what?
It still is!!
I bought and held bitcoin because I believe in the future it can bring us all.
It just takes time. Along the way there will be many who enter the space to make a quick buck and this will be reflected in the swings in the market.
That doesn't matter in the long run.
Bitcoin remains the greatest store of value humanity (Satoshi) has invented yet and the world is slowly waking up to that fact.
I for one am not worried about the current price action and continue to HODL every Satoshi.
We will ride the storm as we have always done and that core group, us HODLers are the ones that ensure that btc can never go to zero.
Keep on believing brothers.

I need to learn some terminology, what's slicing?

Holy moly 2900 bucks A YEAR for autodesk.

I have recently just got into 3D printing myself (funny how that happens hey)
Picked up an ender 3 V2 and really enjoying the experience.
I am now about to embark on building my own from scratch based on the Hypercube Evolution.
BTW I use CURA for slicing.
Seems to do a very reasonable job and I also play around with tinkercad and have had pretty good results so far.
Struggling a little with PETG printing though but PLA is is a breeze.

Yes ETH is a centralized shitcoin and a mess in so many ways, but nobody seems to care about that. The attitude is "well they'll solve all those problems with future updates". Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Either way I don't think it matters. ETH has their network effect, just like BTC does, there will be no ETH killer, but with all the extra shit that is flooding their network as time goes on, how could it not beat BTC, the digital gold that everyone just hodls but doesn't do much else with.

I won't be investing in it, but also don't want to be disappointed when (if) it does unseat BTC. I don't think it will be able to take BTC place this cycle either, but next on, maybe.

If you think that a centralized mess of a shitcoin with a 90M pre-mine and currently $50-500 transaction fees will ever "overtake" BTC, then you are delusional. And POS will be a big fail.

It does make you wonder where the term "smart money" comes from?
Doesn't seem that smart to me.

Labels.
I am at retirement age and in my youth I am sure people suffered from the same ailments as people do today.
Its just that today everyone seems to need a label for a particular behaviour as if by having one seems to justify said behaviour.
Meh. What do I know, I am just an old bloke on the internet (I don't have a label).
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 05, 2021, 08:03:34 AM
Jesus! The shitcoin market is fucked, literal absolute garbage shit is being pumped to the stratosphere. This won't end well, when the correction comes, and it will, there will be a lot of pain to go around. Interesting times ahead people!

I dunno, I don't care what happens in the shitcoin world. Frankly, I don't even care if they exist at all. I've never owned any shitcoin (except for the early BTC forks obviously). Just spotted something funny: while I was typing this post spellchecker offered me to replace the word "shitcoin" with "bitcoin". So my spellchecker is a bitcoin maximalist and generally pro-bitcoin?  Grin

I do fear that all these noobs getting sucked into sh*tcoins does have a detrimental affect on Bitcoin.
After it all goes to hell and leaves a bitter taste in noobs mouths, they will be more reluctant to enter into bitcoin a second time around.
Worse still is the fact that the nanny state will probably step in at some point to "Save" the people from themselves.
I think it just slows the whole adoption.
140  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 04, 2021, 07:20:11 PM
Meh!
I just bought a bucketload of dip.
Picked myself a nice handful of BTC.
We all know where Bitcoin is going as soon as these sh*tcoins burst.
See you all on the moon soon.
