Please do not change Block Maturation  Angry
See the Market reaction. It's dumping now.

Only the PoW algo needs to evolve to keep vertcoin Asic resistance.

The survey is impossible to understand,
Inflation is the biggest problem solving,
Only price stability, long-term investors will hold the Vocational Training Council.
Today I sell 20K VTC, this is my angry vote

huh?

Why hasnt this been posted here yet?

https://vertcoin.org/block-maturation-vote/

Official Block maturation vote:

Increasing the block maturation period may discourage, not necessarily defeat, multipools by increasing the uncertainty of the value of each mined block. Multipools need to sell as fast as possible because its decision to mine the coin is based on the profitability. Some have cited the obvious negative of such a change would be that coins remain un-spendable for longer for everyone. Also, theoretically, if traditional pool operators decide to pay miners before the full block maturation period, it may incent people to switch away from P2P, which by its nature requires the full block maturation period as rewards are paid directly.

By how much should we increase block maturation time (if at all)?

there are no investots in vertcoin right now, only bagholders.
...
lets look at some grafs
very good market for investitions

I will not invest any cent until I see it stable for a couple of months over 0.003
so the most people are.
90% of people are here for money and the other 10% are for idea  (decentralisation/privacy/...) and they are nothing without those 90%'s
I do not say vtc is bad coin, I say it is awesome, but when you on market you MUST play its rules if you want to succeed.
price must be stabilised.

You can't even spell investors or graphs properly, and wtf is investitions (a cross between investment and investigation?)?

Seems legit...

edit: I see it seems to be a german word (probably also graf, dunno about investots), still, if you want to chat on an english site and be taken seriously, "you MUST play its rules if you want to succeed."

Relax. Non native English speakers have the same right to voice their opinions as you do. Thats damn arrogant.  Do you want me to go through all your posts with a fine tooth comb checking for grammar and spelling? You know very well the gist of what he was saying.

I learn something new and realize that VTC has been defeated where decentralize on hardware is successful but not on the community usage level.  It does not restrict centralize all coins generated into single few hands.  Now top 2% hold more than 4.5 million VTC out of 6 millions.
http://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-vertcoin-addresses.html

Top 0.2% hold 2 millions which is 33%.

The decentralize of hardware is good but the economy values derived from its use and VTC is a good protocol and any new version of protocol should generate a new network and use exchange to derive the values between the old and new crypto network.

When the miners still mining at a lost, it is not really logical for miners to keep a blind faith to keep mining at a lost.

Price is not my major concern but the widespread adoption and growing network are the most important factors for a crypto network which is beyond developers control.

The daily losses is about $13k USD daily on electricity.

THE TOP ADDRESSES ARE EXCHANGES and their cold/hot wallets. your numbers are innacurate
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: July 15, 2014, 04:08:43 AM
Thanks - you are indeed correct - useful info.

Although you crushed my story with this one example - the trend is pretty much correct.

I still can see most (over 90% of the top 100) wallets in the top 100 holding/accumulating - and thats IMHO the best strategy for now with VTC.

And I have my money where my mouth is on this.

Accumulating

If that is BTER they sure have a lot of coins in storage. Nothing about their daily volume would lead me to guess that they had so many people storing coins. Even if this is true it seems as though the exchange is a place a lot of people are holding their coins. I personally have 11k VTC and I have 90% in cold storage. Seems odd to have 500k on an exchange with low VTC volume.

Click the link. Its written in black and white. And on a side note, why anybody would place so much emphasis on an individual wallet is beyond me even if it was just a single trader. It would mean nothing beyond a mere curiosity. Actually it be a terrible thing for a single account holding such a lot of coins. The dump would be devastating.  Either way the point is moot. Its an exchange cold storage account
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: July 15, 2014, 03:02:22 AM
you are 100% on to it here.

And this low price is a bonus - just keep topping up regularly as it goes down. When it goes up - as it inevitably will on the next BTC/LTC spikes your profit will be x10 not x2.

VTC will be a survivor of these clone wars as you put it.

Its important to keep focus on the long term during the journey THROUGH the Valley of Death.  We just passing thru - not staying thanks.....

Keep your eye on this #1 Richest Vertcoin Address

since mid June this address has gone from 150K VTC to almost 500K VTC - and buy rate increasing lately. No sells since mid April - and no sells of any significance.

600K VTC dumped in 2 minutes! was that for real Huh Shocked

Not sure what you are looking at. I see the daily volume at just under 100,000 VTC.

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/volume/24-hour/#vertcoin

I saw this 600K VTC dump at https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/cryptsy/vtcbtc (it's VTC/BTC trade history at Cryptsy).

However, this dump is not at Cryptsy's chart at https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/151

Nobody dropped 600,000. Relax

I am going to keep this short and straight forward as possible as I can:

-We lost many of our key investors due to a flame war that happened back in end of May.
-Our volume was decreasing overtime during bitcoin's all time low this year.
-An exponential rise of another coin took the spot light and started a trend during bitcoin's low.
-Bitcoin rises again, vertcoin value decreases, but vertcoin remained around a $1 USD.
-FUD and flame threads/post over the course of the time. And it is still happening till this day!

There is far much more to it, but these are some of the important factors that contributed to the downhill of vertcoin. With all that happening despite with new releases coming out for vertcoin, it was the perfect moment to get out. If you look at the top 100 address for vertcoin, you will see that a lot of the addresses have changed dramatically. There were a chunk of addresses in the top 100 from back in January, February, and March. Look at it now, you won't see that many. It is unfortunate all this had to happen because of flame wars like these post kept occurring. If you want these investors back, the community is going to have to earn it. Rebuild and refocus on vertcoin reputation with good intentions and positivity. Continue with FUD and flame post, and you will further hurt vertcoin.

Here is one address that you can look into:

Yep.The vertpay situation was the catalyst which left a bad taste in my mouth. Othe and ricardo got a raw deal and it was an ambitious project that deserved serious attention.

i don't care about block halving or anything else...

devs don't want to change anything right now and the coin is dying, but at least i am out.

i hope you enjoyed my coins  Grin Grin

Everyone has their own investment strategy but I have to admit yours is quite peculiar. You obviously are down a lot but selling when there is still so much upside potential is strange. Its not like this is Stablecoin or the hundreds of others that have no reasonable chance for growth. But to each his own.
dude... i have been here for months now and the downtrend is getting worse... so why should i keep anymore?

i could have exit with the latest pump, but i was confident that it will change the game once and for all.

but in fact it made things even worse. features might be great, but it doesnt help the inflation.

Its been hard to not notice your posts so yes I know you have been here for a few months. My point is either way you cut it you sold at or near the bottom. Even if it still goes down, there is no point in selling at these levels. If you held until now you might as well hold till the end. But As I said, Im sure you have your own strategy so Ill leave it at that.

Changing anything on Vertcoin - other than scrypt-n diff to eject asics - will result in a loss of trust in the coin.

And yes, i am a miner.
And yes, i am selling some of my coins to pay my bills.
Why? Simple!
I have no big financial background to live from and have to feed my family and pay my bills.

If there is anything changed on the coin with any other target than to get ridd of asics, i'll quit mining VTC.

If the "investors" can't handle it, well, get out of VTC and buy and sell other coins.

But i am pretty sure, most of us miners will just quit VTC and change to another coin if the devs would play with blockreward or anything just to push the price a bit.

And guess what a coin without miners is...

God clueless answers like this tilt me to no end. As you say you are a miner and you sell your VTC to whom do you think ?

Saying to potential buyer to "fuck off" is a good plan to bust this coin. You don't care about the coin you only care about ROI.

And just FYI, VTC is no longer profitable to mine so I don't know what bills you are paying now but if this trend keeps up, well you know.
Yes... i am just a clueless miner and that's the reason i am mining VTC and not DRK or anything else... Roll Eyes
I am not saying "fuck off" to potential buyers, i say "shut up" and "stop being greedy" to self-appointed "investors" and "crypto gurus".

And just FYI, if VTC would be no longer profitable for me, i would mine on for another 1-2 month and put away my VTC and will just wait till it is profitable again.
And my bills are getting payed not only from VTC you know... its called "work", you should try it out some day...

In my realm VTC is called "future investment" because fiat is just a deadend.
Any coin with asics/fpga is just for the big money to make even more money. VTC is the best opportunity for a down-market to get accepted.

Golden rule #1: Never gamble with money you need for a reasonable subsistence!

If you mess with rule No. 1 you deserve a swift kick to your nuts!

Golden rule #2: Greed eats brain!

Amen to that brother !

Anyway, only 3 guys want to halve the block reward: Mig, Jiggy and Darkota

Only 3 fuckers...but they make a lot of noise because they fear for their investment.  Poor babies, i'm gonna cwyyyy.

Seriously, guys, grow some balls, it's ridiculous to compromise the coin just for you to get back your investment quickly.

Stop it. Its not just 3 people. This thread is not the be all end all. Only 7-10 post here regularly. The discussion is going on in other places too.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: July 13, 2014, 06:39:23 PM
The difficulty is a major factor in the price, no one will sell if the difficulty is very high and the price is below the cost of electricity, then the price will go just up and up and UP

if I was a a large investor and If I had a lot of money, I'd invest in a large GPU farm for VertCoin

you ask Why?

if I do not have big Hash Power, and I just buy coins to invest ... I'm always at a loss, because there will always be people that will sell for a small profit .... maybe a beer

but if I have control over the difficulty, and buy it if the price will always be up and up

We need a big investor to invest in а big GPU farm for VertCoin

I already mining at a loss .... ie
money that can currently earn from vertcoin are less than the cost of my electricity
but I play on the long positions, I'll sell when I see a price of $ 10

a few weeks ago I invested more money on video cards, my friend asked me today .... what are you doing? why do you keep mining, I told him ..... you'll see .... things will change .... that's life there's always up and down

Silence
My 2 cent

Nobody is going to invest large amounts unless there is some clarity in the direction. Everyone is in agreement that Vtc is a great coin. The devs have surprised me with with their resilience, I was worried that they would abandon the project or at the very least stop spending so much time on it when things began to go sideways. They didnt and they at the moment are Vert's strongest point. But everyone needs to come into agreement on whether to sit back and hope for the best, or implement dramatic changes. I cant offer any solutions on any tech changes.

source: Investor ready to get back into Vtc in a very substantial way but reluctant due to too much uncertainty.

Maybe his goal is 1 million coins  Grin
http://bitinfocharts.com/vertcoin/address/Vjf6QRCF1AsaMUeGBpN8ZtN2z2htiGkZXr

if he is buying all the coins then its average price might be around 0.0015 to 0.002 it is at a loss as most of us, but here it is important that it continues to full his address with fresh coins at low prices

this is suspect.... can someone manipulate this?

why is someone trying to collect so much coin?

can you say that this is not an exchange or something else?

its probably an exchange

I can not agree with you, why do you think that

Number Of Inputs - 447
Number Of Outputs - 91

Because of the uniform number of both in/outputs. It has never deviated from exactly 1000. Its associated accounts as well. I cant see a single trader operating that way. It might not be an exchange per se, but the likelyhood of it being a single trader is slim in my opinion.

I can not believe it.  Shocked

now is a good time to buy cheap vertcoins Tongue Tongue

buying the vtc as that price is a good thinking as it will rise soon and we can make some profit.

If it makes a difference I agree, if its not open for a rename, its still good. Either way well done!
