And what we have:
scrypt-n: more power consumption, hot cards (70-80C) , lower profit
x: less power consumption, lower temps (50-60C), better profit

That's why many miners don't want back to mine vertcoin directly. Right now Scrypt-n is very expensive for us.

And now you can again talk about "I dont understand why people belive in magic x11/x13/x15 colder and energy saver algo. It's just modified Intensity and lower hashrate thats all. You can lower your intensity with the same effect. They washed our brains" Wink

All cards is 7970, not nvidia, and they are in downclock.

If my thoughts are wrong, guys, correct me, please.

So, we shouldn't be offended for the facts...

N-Scrypt + X11 multi PoW (as multi PoW was announced by developers as possible solution in general)
- should be used ASAP to save the Vertcoin competitiveness for miners, because now it is really affected

Numbers never lie...

this sounds interesting.

actually, this coin should have its own anti-ASIC strategy to stand out.

x11 PoW and PoS and 12 month hard fork algo tweak.

1. energy saving PoW to secure the network
2. use PoS for transaction speed, and
3. use PoS to facilitate 12 monthly algo tweak.

You can build all the ASICs you want, but it takes ~6 months to get one, another ~6months to sell them, but in that time you won't have time to make money from it. ROI would be -$$$$$

Why not PoS:

Just few words...
Since months I had feeling that to success VTC should attack black markets ... but since before was no stealth it was like not much possible ...
well today this starting to happening:
http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/2awhhj/expect_a_new_open_darknet_marketplace_soon/

I would say that if VTC will be used in more and more black markets (even some of you dont agree) then vtc will rise in value ... as believe me ... black market DO have own place in cryptos!

If you ask me ... thats pretty big and if continue it will mean a lot!

Are there any dev updates on algo change/multipool fix/inflation? The blog hasn't been updated in awhile either.

I have to admit, a little more communication would be appreciated. If there's one thing that you notice between all these different coins that have high trade volume, it's that the devs are pretty active in terms of relaying information. There's a few things on the board right now for this coin and the devs seem a bit quiet at the moment.

Is there an ScryptN ASIC or some new GPU Miner out for these coins?

The difficulty is very high and makes no sense. Almost as bad as mining scrypt.

Something has been already made about inflation ? That's weird, it seems like it stopped dropping and volume is really low

...Or is it just a small break ?

Multipools stopped dumping (mining) or we got a buy support to stabilize the price.

Hey guys,

We haven't heard anything official when it comes to further plans for VertCoin for a while now, can anyone from the dev team put in a word or two? Nothing extensive, just a short update would be good enough, just so we know what are the next steps.

Also, where is Boris? He's been missing for a while.

Thanks,
Deky

It would be nice to hear from the dev team a bit more often. I like your idea of just a simple update.

I may be wrong but I believe a while back Boris said he needed to take some time for personal issues. Hope to see him back sometime soon after everything gets figured out. Smiley

common... get on reddit so you will see way more devs work ....
even me who as well want to see devs often ... I must see I DO SEE often hehe and last weeks was pretty hard work there in my opinion Wink
what I learn is even if something is not announced to be available in next day ... you can be surprised to see it done even same day.

For now we need more promo... so devs part in this shouldnt be big...
I believe as well vert should enter on many dark markets - yes for illegal stuff even ... as it will bring more attention...
more attention more faith, more interest ... better price - community happy ... coin rising... following me right ? Smiley

Why hasnt this been posted here yet?

https://vertcoin.org/block-maturation-vote/

Official Block maturation vote:

Increasing the block maturation period may discourage, not necessarily defeat, multipools by increasing the uncertainty of the value of each mined block. Multipools need to sell as fast as possible because its decision to mine the coin is based on the profitability. Some have cited the obvious negative of such a change would be that coins remain un-spendable for longer for everyone. Also, theoretically, if traditional pool operators decide to pay miners before the full block maturation period, it may incent people to switch away from P2P, which by its nature requires the full block maturation period as rewards are paid directly.

By how much should we increase block maturation time (if at all)?

If there's going to be a block maturation time I see no reason why we shouldn't go all out and make it 14 days for the best deterrent against multipools. Can anyone provide an argument against this?

I voted for 3 days, just because 14 seemed to extreme. I'd prefer to see the maturity time linked to the sharkbite algo, so if hashrate shoots up, then maturation time is 14 days, but under more normal circumstances it's more like 1-3 days.

Please do not change Block Maturation  Angry
See the Market reaction. It's dumping now.

Only the PoW algo needs to evolve to keep vertcoin Asic resistance.
