Announcement

Our BlockExplorer just got a new look - and totally new searching abilities!

First of all thank you hypersire, for a great job. BTW guys, hypersire is a very talented web-designer, he managed to make the website, our coin's front and the block explorer! i'm very proud that we have a person like him in our community. So in case you need someone to do some design magic, don't hesitate to ask him!

Please give our new block explorer a test drive, and reply your thoughts!

And don't forget to follow us on Twitter - For the latest News & Updates

Thanks  a lot for the kind words Koop! I've helped out with coins before (such as Devcoin) but NODE was my favourite project by far! I just love the speed, simplicity and light footprint!

Keep up the great work guys and don't let the trolls get you down! The more trolls that show up, the more that says NODE is going places as people feel that their "bags" are being threatened  Grin

100 pages? Tongue

Oh wow, I didn't even notice that. I posted the image as my price prediction for how many NXT one RSU will be worth  Cheesy

Well I can personally confirm they are hard at work behind the scenes because I just finished working with Silk and Koop on the new blockexplorer layout  Grin

What will happen to the asset after wallet release? Because of the reserve returns there must be more than the current 1M units.

There are 1M total units so there cannot be more. Last I read, around 70% of people converted their stakes to NXT AE assets.

We are proud to announce that we were contacted by, and now are in advanced negotiations, with a major exchange platform.
They agreed to revise our source code, hopefully tomorrow when the beta wallet is released, and once they find it acceptable they will list RSU.
Therefore users concerned about how to exchange their RSU coins will be able to do there in just a few days after releasing the beta wallet.

Awesome news! Keep up the great work guys, things are going to get interesting quickly  Grin

You could just download the wallet on a VM and then delete the whole VM when an exchange you use is added Smiley

If that's 'safe' I might give that a try ..
Could you aim me at a tutorial that explains how to do this ??

TIA

Triff ..

It's extremely safe, much safer than leaving your coins on an exchange!

I am constantly running multiple VMs (some Linux, some Windows). When a new wallet comes out, I just clone one of my VMs and download the new wallet to it in order to "sandbox" it. Basically, even if the wallet is compromised in some way, no damage can be done to your main system or other VMs because it is isolated. The trick is to use a separate VM for each wallet.

As someone already mentioned, Virtualbox is the way to go! It is totally free, you can install as many Linux distros as you want all for free, and then for Windows you can use a legit install CD if you have one or just grab an Windows ISO on the Pirate Bay  Smiley

Unfortunately I have also experienced the same wallet issues being reported here. I tried a couple of times but every time it would freeze at a certain point so even if I let it run overnight, there would be no progress.

Is there a way we can prepare a fresh download of the blockchain to make it easier for people to sync? I saw someone mention that the current blockchain that's available to download and import is 2 months old.

NODE can't run on my Macbook, right?

If you only have a Macbook, your best bet is to download VirtualBox (free) and then you can run both Linux and Windows VMs. Of course Linux ISOs are free, as for Windows, I'm sure you know where you can pick up a copy of that for free as well  Wink

Thanks bud, but I don't want to use Windows. I was asking what the ETA is for the real Mac client.

I would either need a standalone Mac or Linux client Wink  Is there an ETA for that already? I'm having my coins on BTER right now

I can totally understand that, I haven't used Windows as my main OS since Red Hat Linux 5.2 came out back in '98-'99 Grin

However, back when I only had a Macbook I felt I had no choice but to run a Windows VM because I was missing out on too many opportunities since the Windows wallet is usually the priority for devs.

Anyway, it sounds like the Linux and Mac wallets will be ready soon so no worries, just use BTER or the online wallet until then.

Fuck, my FUD didn't work. Sell me some units. My order is around 1.5 NXT.

Fud has no effect if there are no dumpers. Who wanted to dump, did it already now if there will be buy support the price shall rise.
So if you want some coins raise your buy order to meet the supply

Yup, the dumpers are long gone. I remember just a week ago it seemed that every 10 minutes a trade would go through for 2310 or 1000 RSUs (meaning people were dumping their entire stakes). Now, not so much  Smiley

When the wallet is released, I would not count on another large wave of dumpers (as the truly impatient people who are looking to make a couple of quick bucks have long claimed their stakes on the NXT AE and sold). That being said, once the wallet is released and trading of actual RSUs instead of the tokens begins, that will truly be the last chance to board this train before it goes barreling out of the station.

so the developers only get one stake each, that seems too low to me, who would stay motivated for such a small reward?

This is the thing that still many of our shareholders doesn't understand. We are not making this coin to sell our units and get profit from selling a part of our own coins. That's for pump and dump coin developers copying a coin, giving it a name and selling it when it has some price. We need the coin to fulfill and to play a meaningful role in developing the businesses and investment ideas that we have. If we would fail to deliver the wallet we would fault ourselves because it is needed for our long term goals. We could make a random coin, or to use another existing one but we decided to make a new one with unique code that actually gives something in addition to the cryptocoin market, something that was never seen before. Yes sometimes delays happen but it is not because we have no motivation to release, our motivation is enormous to get it in time, but as you know developing something new hides sometimes catches that needs to be solved, and i believe that having numerous coins that devs could dump wouldnt help solving the issues earlier than it is possible.

Best attitude and vision ever seen by a dev.

Seriously! I had a good vibe about this one from the very beginning but that post pretty much solidified my opinion.

ReserveShare is the complete opposite of all the Scrypt crapcoin clones that are created for simple pump and dumps. This one is going places and I have no doubt a lot of tears are going to be shed by people who decided to trade in their stake for a handful of NXT.

if you do it manually you're absolutely genius geek man Cheesy, I don't have time for that Tongue

It does not take much genius.  Even something as simple as just wrapping `eval` and `Function` with replacements that will print their arguments and call the original will often go a long way.  Usually the only difficult and/or tedious part is in-lining.

Wish there was REP on this board. I enjoy your posts. Breath of fresh air on this cesspool site. Checking out the Zen thread now.

I totally agree. Constructive posts like HunterMinerCrafter's are always welcome. Even posts critical of Node are certainly welcome, provided you actually provide some valid points that give people something to discuss and possibly improve upon.

"Me smell scam", "Dev abandoned coin", and "Are we on Bittrex yet? Are we on Bittrex yet?" unfortunately do not qualify Grin

You heard from one of them less than 12 hours ago, yet you claim they haven't been here for days.

My fav was the guy yesterday who said "I'm out, the dev didn't even bother to answer my question from pages ago so I'm out".

When I checked his post, it was on the very same page and only posted 2.5 hours earlier. How dare the devs do not provide him with a personal response in the middle of the night on a weekend! Oh, and what was the question of such extreme importance? "When will Node be on Bittrex?" Grin

The silver linining here is that it's not hard to make a profit when you are trading against people with the patience, attention span and analytical skills of a snail.

Well... everyone is different, we are trying to have an individual approach, but it is hard, especially that text doesn't transmit emotions - and some how we end up with people being hostile towards us.

But i must admit that there are those that will take your arm when your offering your hand!

I totally agree Koop and normally I let most things slide but I simply had to point this one out to illustrate the extreme impatience among the people trolling this thread. It has gotten so absurd that someone who posts a question in the middle of the night on the weekend is astonished to discover their question hasn't been answered 2.5 hours later!

I still remember after Node launched - within 2 days people were posting that the devs had abandoned Node.

If it was up to me I would banish these kinds of people from the thread - they have nothing to  contribute whatsoever, they just try to spread FUD so that they can buy in cheap, or pump the other coins they are holding.

Basically, these are people who are angry that their free Node stake hasn't made them millionaires within a week after launch  Smiley

I wonder to know too. WHY?

Because this fuckin' place is a FUD SEWER!   Wink

Exactly. Many devs don't bother to maintain a Bitcointalk presence anymore - Maidsafe, eMunie and Etherium are the top 3 that come to mind.

And I certainly don't blame them one bit. Why would they? So they can answer the same repetitive questions over and over again?

I have no doubt that if Satoshi was developing Bitcoin using this forum for feedback as it exists today, he most likely would have just given up.

Maybe devs live in alternative reality where btt does not work.  Cheesy
This explains many things.  Grin

@ coinholder.

Can you please stop writing in this thread?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Angry

You're not a stakeholder, you aren't able to contribute something useful and you are just a troll!! SO LEAVE THIS THREAD!

If I were dev, YOU would be a reason WHY I'm not answering.

SOOOOOO GOOOO, you TROLL!!!!

+1000! I placed him on ignore a long time ago but it is still annoying to see "This user is currently ignored" over and over again.

I don't know what's going on lately but this thread and the Node thread have been overrun with what 4chan /b/ would call "summer fags" meaning basically kiddies who post when they aren't in school. Of course summer is over so I'm not sure where these tards are showing up from but it is really getting old.

+1! You guys are doing a great job, just stick to your plan and release the wallet once ready. I think it is obvious that the vast majority of people in this thread are behind you and see the great long term potential of ReserveShare. Putting RSU up for early trading was a brilliant idea as even the short termers have something to play with so they can't complain  Smiley

Quote from: visual111
then there are threads that I follow like BTCD/NEM/BBR where technical discussions are often taking place. these are the coins with the greatest potential because the community questions the developers and this provides a transparency to what the devs are doing. Here, this is the total opposite. Devs are quiet and hard to understand. 70% of posts are "to the moon" type.

if this coin falls, it is because of the weak community that calls FUD/troll when people ask questions about the project. this cannot continue to happen if node is going to succeed.

i hope the community understands what i am saying

I think visual111 hit the nail on the head.

Transparency.

That's what is lacking with the developers of Node.

Oh boy, Visual111 sure did hit the nail on the head! You two should be cryptocurrency consultants or something.

Transparency is definitely lacking! For goodness sake, the Node devs haven't posted an update on this thread in 5 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!

And where is the whitepaper and roadmap? Oh wait...

TLDR version:

You are an imbecile.

Imbecile, eh?  Attacking others over constructive criticism?

I see a lot of questions and concerns that come up in this thread, and the devs don't appear to address them.  To me, that is lack of transparency.

You are absolutely right! Rather than working on the wallet, getting on exchanges, writing whitepapers and roadmaps and planning what could be the "Ukranian Paypal", the devs should focus their efforts on answering trivial questions on the Bitcointalk forum. LOL

Why You Should Immediately Fire Problem Customers
http://successwise.com/why-you-should-immediately-fire-problem-customers

Quote
Let’s define problem customers. For whatever reason there’s a percentage of the population who is never happy. They’re always whining, dissatisfied and feeling like everyone is out to take advantage of them.

You could shower them with gold and provide your product or service for free and they’ll find something to complain about. These people are like a cancer sucking the life out of you and your business. I suggest you cut them loose as quickly as possible.

To be successful, one must realize that unfortunately nowadays there are a lot of people who are quite simply "a waste of time" and you need to ignore them ASAP. Just like the quote says, you could shower them with gold and they will still find something to complain about. Sound familiar? Let's recap.

"Where's the wallet?! Where's the wallet?!"
- Devs release wallet

"When are we going to get on an exchange?! When are we going to get on an exchange?!"
- Devs get Node on BTER

"Where's the whitepaper?! Where's the whitepaper?!"
- Devs release whitepaper

"What about future plans? What about timeframes, next steps, etc."
- Devs release roadmap

So now the dialogue simply shifts to:

"When are we going to get on Bittrex? What about Bittrex?"

"The whitepaper isn't clear. The whitepaper isn't well written. The devs aren't transparent"

So you see, regardless of what the devs do, there will always be people like you who will still find something to complain about. And the reason for this is simple - it is not as if you genuinely want to improve Node, rather you wish to empower yourself and make it all about you. It's just a sign of the times, the "entitlement generation" that we now live in.

Here's another classic example:

And... I'm out.  Maybe I'll get back in later but people seem to be disappointed in the whitepaper, and the market's reflecting that.  Maybe this will go somewhere.  Too bad no one answered my basic question pages ago of when this coin would be going to Bittrex.  Oh well.  Good luck everyone.

And as dawj20 pointed out, the basic question which wasn't answered "pages ago" not only appeared on the exact same page but in fact, was only posted 2.5 hours earlier. The devs don't respond to someone in the middle of the night and for that reason they are out. Absolutely classic.

Just stick to your plan Node devs, you are doing great. Like Taylor Swift's song says: "Haters going to hate, fakers going to fake, I'm just gonna shake it off, shake it off"  Grin
