They won't expire. You can give your friend any one of the addresses you created, they'll all work.

125  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Coding tutorials on: November 25, 2016, 03:58:15 AM
Bitcoin isn't a programming language, you don't learn Bitcoin coding. First you have to learn a programming language and then learn how Bitcoin works so that you can write programs that do stuff with Bitcoin.

I know, was a unlucky wording

Im looking for tutorials on how to develop with bitcoin, especially tutorials on how to set up bitcoind on a vps and run a site that accpets bitcoin

I did a series on exactly this back in April.
Bitcoind and JSON-RPC API
1. Intro - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMM-t7azzJE
2. Setting up on a VPS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygNit44dQHA
3. Customize the bitcoin.conf - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W54aRszkEOI
4. Testing with bitcoin command line interface - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmdYD7vutTI
5. Your first JSON-RPC calls - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARL_PvDEBtU
6. More JSON-RPC calls - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyLCKMqkWIA
7. Wallet Notify - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4BPt4RXOm4

There's also this thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990348.0

Hope that helps!

I like it!
Also wanted to say that electron looks really fun to play with. Desktop apps from nodejs code - very cool.

Just comment out line 22 of app.js

128  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price hits $100 000 in 2017 on: November 19, 2016, 03:59:51 AM
Maybe.

On 5 November 2007, A shares of Petrochina on the first day of trading after its IPO on Shanghai Stock Exchange skyrocketed from the IPO price of 16.7 RMB to 43.96 RMB by the close (the opening price was even 48.6 RMB). That gave a market capitalization of about $1 trillion.

Bitcoin with a 1 trillion dollar market cap would be $62,500 per coin (assuming there are 16 million coins).

Seems like a good idea... just in case.

Quoted. Yes its a good idea. Hacking is common here and you can get your account back if this happen to you.
A hero account is a valuable one. They say its better to sign a message as well just to make sure you really  own that address.

Thanks, also a good idea.

131  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: So You Want To Use Bitcoin On Your Website? on: November 14, 2016, 01:16:51 AM
A tip of the hat to you... Found a useful script in your book and implemented part of it (with a little tweaking) into my SpacePirate game. Had no idea about WalletNotify until today, funny how you can work/dev with Bitcoin for years and then you learn something new! Cheesy

You're completely right! I'm always stumbling across something new as well.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your success!
Glad I was able to help  Wink

I am a bit buried right now with other projects but I'll take a look at updating to a new service. Any suggestions which service?

135  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to create "Bitcoin Price Index" as well as "Bitcoin Price Ticker"? on: October 30, 2016, 04:41:40 AM
How to create a bitcoin price widget is Chapter 7 of my book (a portion of chapter 7 is available in the "look inside" preview).  https://www.amazon.com/Building-Bitcoin-Websites-Beginners-Development/dp/153494544X

Or you can watch my youtube tutorial video on how to create one for free: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVlMueUBGOo

Have fun, and good luck!

its just not worth 2 btc or anywhere near it

traffic according to similarweb and alexa is maybe 500-800 uniques per MONTH

search queries for keyword 'bitcoin widget' is around 800 searches per month.  basically almost nothing

this website wont make much money at all .. i would buy it because i like the design and free concept, but its simply not worth much.  at most .3-.4 btc

be realistic anyways .. nobody is going to give you 2 btc for this

I don't understand how you can take a stance in an argument that you have no data on at all. I'm not signed up with similarweb or alexa so all their traffic data is ESTIMATED based on similar websites using a shitty algorithm that scans keywords and backlinks.

500-800 unique per month is ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE below of the traffic my site does.

Code:

Are there any revenue generated from this site, if so from which channels is revenue from?

Currently only adsense. Very few ads currently - no marketing or promotion it's all organic traffic. If the new owner promotes and seriously monetized the site I expect it could be a decent money maker.
138  Economy / Auctions / Re: EXCLUSIVE :: #1 GOOGLE RANK :: btcwidgets.com - All original, and custom coded on: October 29, 2016, 03:20:02 PM
Interested.  Could you provide me with reading access to the google analytics?
How is the website monetized, and could you also PM me revenue statistics?

Sent you a PM for read-only to analytics.
139  Economy / Auctions / Re: EXCLUSIVE :: #1 GOOGLE RANK :: btcwidgets.com - All original, and custom coded on: October 29, 2016, 03:18:45 PM
just sayin' :

https://www.similarweb.com/website/btcwidget.com

keyword 'btc widget' gets about 1000 searches per month

ranks #3 in google search for 'btc widget'

revenue is basically zero

site is probably worth about .3 btc realistically ...

You just made up a random keyword to base your search and evaluation.
Nobody searches "btc widget", that's not the top keyword.
The top key words are clearly listed in the OP.
Revenue is not zero or basically zero.
0.3 is the cost of a username on bitcointalk - which requires no thought, work or creativity.
I'm not interested in your low-ball bid or insulting tone.

You're likely looking for a quick domain flip which this is not. It's an established domain, with lots of traffic and inbound links. If you were a developer that had a new widget app this domain would be prime real-estate as it is already top-ranked for "bitcoin widget".
