Just add it as a watch only address. importaddress in your debug console. Type help in your console and look for the importaddress entry. importaddress 3xy1fGmcTrropzz34acB6vuYn23 label

I was able to add my multisig address on core with the watch-only feature. Obviously you still have to create a raw tx to spend, but at least you can see it in your wallet and have it in your receiving addresses.

Kwuk is the resident veteran troll. He/she has been spouting nonsense and bologna for quite a while now. You should just ignore kwuk's post, the idea is to distract you and derail the conversation. "bitcoin is worthless because there are endless number of superior altcoins shitcoins. Yea okie doke kwukie

What says the graphs about the future of btc?
The graphs are just recordings of old prices. They tell you about the past, not the future. Haha, yea you are right. It does looks like someone is just looping the prices in front of us like Keanu Reeves did to Dustin Hoffman with the bus security camera in Speed. I turn on the computer each morning and it's all the same thing. We had the bitlicense thingy yesterday which was different but the price didn't care. Are volatile days of bitcoin over? When was the last time we saw a 20% move in a day? It's been a while.

Wow, nobody has said it yet? Ok allow me. Bitcoin is like a box chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.

It is a step closer to COIN and that is bullish for the price. Presumably we need to wait for them to receive their shiny new license.
I wonder how long it will take them to receive their lawsky license... their quarter one launch date that they were planning is going to turn into quarter three here soon. I guess it's a good thing they aren't rushing things together and saying they are regulated when they're not *Cough*coinbase*cough*

Many suspected that the Winklevoss twins were waiting for the bitlicense before launching Gemini... what do you think, will we see Gemini this month? The ETF would be a much larger event, but the approval and launch of the ETF is in the hands of bureaucrats.

I tend to think of block reward reductions as reductions in the sell pressures btc rather than as a potential reason for lots of users to rush in and buy
Yea the halving could stimulate half of what's needed and that's supply. The other half is demand which seems to be growing but the price shows otherwise. 12.5 BTC every ten minutes is still a lot though, but on the other hand a 50% reduction in supply is also a lot. It will be interesting to see if anything happens.

I'll be married for 7 years this July. My wife still doesn't know about bitcoin FYI don't mention it.

I installed it two days ago to check it out... I uninstalled it last night and now I am back with core. It was misleading, because the github page said you could easily switch between XT or core, but it runs on top of core. So once you install XT, even if you try to launch core you run XT everytime. The only way to run core again is uninstalling bitcoin and reinstalling core.

It's not your anti-virus, it's your operating system. Program Files is supposed to be read-only for normal users, as there's no legitimate reason to write to it except to install or uninstall programs (which you need to be admin to do anyway). Don't try to put your data directory there; it won't work and isn't supposed to.
Ahh I am an idiot!! Not sure why I was going to program files when I should have been in appdata. Thanks!

It still can be a fun hobby depending on your interests. Just because people don't have huge refracting observatories doesn't mean people that like astronomy won't use smaller telescopes for fun. Sure they won't find a planet or anything but it can still be a fun educational hobby. With that said, if you want to try it out you should. You can find some cheap old outdated mining hardware on ebay, obviously you won't profit from it, but like I said earlier it doesn't have to be about making money.

Maybe it's because I'm an idiot who still runs windows, but all of a sudden my bitcoin folderc(/Program Files/Bitcoin) is read only. I'll change the permissions and it will immediately revert back to read-only. I read on bitcoin.stackexchange that it could be my anti-virus. I unistalled it completely and restarted and still the same issue. I unistalled core and re-installed still same issue. I'm on windows 8, anyone else with this issue or found a way to resolve?

Upgrading to the Bitcoin XT is as easy and downloading Bitcoin XT and copying your wallet.dat file over to the new directory.
I'm not ready to take sides yet, I think there can be a solution where the current core devs don't break up. Also, you don't have to copy your wallet.dat. It runs on top of core and uses the same directories. Per the github: Bitcoin XT is more experimental than Bitcoin Core, and has a strong emphasis on supporting the needs of app developers and merchants. By running it you not only provide additional services to the network but help build confidence in the implementations, contributing towards consensus for inclusion in a future version of Bitcoin Core. XT uses the same data directories as Core so you can easily switch back and forth.

Although I wouldn't personally store my coins on BC.info or any other web wallet for that matter, they do offer very useful free API for web developers. Their receive payments API is probably their best service, they will generate a unique address for each of your customers and payments are immediately forwarded to any address of your choice (cold paper, trezor, etc) and they pay the transaction fees. No security risks there. Yea they do go offline from time to time, but it is a free service so that's to be expected.

Payment received, thanks. Excellent campaign.

Facepalms galore in just the 1st sentence: Blockchain has issued an update for the Android version of its bitcoin wallet after discovering a critical failure which breaks the cryptocurrency’s security. Let me FTFY Blockchain.info, a private company named after the bitcoin blockchain, has issued an update for their Android bitcoin wallet after discovering a critical security flaw which could lead to a consumer generating a well known and unsecure address.

So do you believe history is going to repeat, but this time the $230-250 range? Four months isn't a very long time, I wouldn't be surprised if this stability lasts much longer. Moments of little or low volatility have previously been followed by big moves ( https://btcvol.info/)

-Blockchain.info payment receive API-
I highly recommend not to depend on another site when you have an easy (but time consuming) alternative. You should give more importance to security than accessibility. That is correct depending on what site the OP plans on running. If he's selling jars of jelly for $3 each, it's unlikely that he will become a target or have to worry about security. Also where's the security issue with receive payments API? As I recall the times bc.info had issues was with their mobile wallets not generating a random address. The receive payments API uses deterministic addresses based on your receiving address so there's no risk of generating the dreaded "1Bn9ReEocMG1WEW1qYjuDrdFzEFFDCq43F" address. - What will happen if Blockchain.info goes down? OP will lose customers, but no security issue. - What will happen if there is some errors in Blockchain.info?(known thing which happens) Not sure which errors you are referring to, but again that sounds like a scenario where OP will lose customers not security. - Moreover, it's an online wallet service. They are generating addresses, not us. The addresses they generate are only used for a few seconds, the payment is immediately forwarded to the owners address which could be a cold wallet or HD/trezor etc. Isn't it better to generate addresses ourselves and don't rely on Blockchain.info blindly? I agree, absolutely it's better to generate them ourselves. OP's request: I want an online wallet. Anybody knows how to create this / which online wallet to choose?
