781  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would running a faucet be profitable today? on: August 08, 2015, 04:47:40 PM
I just started my faucet recently and it has not been profitable. The problem is that there are so many faucets you have to do something different to stand out and generate traffic.  The one I just completed has high payouts, a dice game and a referral bonus.  The traffic has been great, but I'm keeping ads to a very minimum so currently losing money. But that's not uncommon for new ventures.
If you try to start a faucet and put your payouts low and load your page with ads so that you instantly start making a profit, you can almost guarantee users will go elsewhere and along with it your ad revenue. It's a bit of a balancing act.  Good luck!

If the stock market does dump and the Australian dollar suffers it very well could be bitcoin related.

"...the Australian Senate Economics References Committee now feels that Bitcoin should be treated as a regular currency for Goods and Services Tax purposes."

Soo many bear trolls right now! I think I'll come back in 24 hours when we are over $300 and NLC will start posting that princess di beanie baby....
784  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest personal bitcoin loss on: August 08, 2015, 03:48:02 PM
For me it was the online casinos. I don't play so much anymore but last year I was going crazy on primedice; I can see how it can become an addiction for some people. I won a few times and thought I could always win. Lost over 1 BTC playing dice.
785  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1฿=$5m will happen on a normal day on: August 08, 2015, 03:44:20 PM
Ever since OP started this thread, btc price has been going southward. Let's keep this thread alive for as long as we can. This thread is jinxed!!! I love it!!!

LOL @1฿=$5m

My belly aches from laughing so much.

The timing does seem particularly funny that this was posted just before this dump. But don't worry it's just a bear trap to get some shorters in and then help push the price back up when they get liquidated.  Cheesy

5k USD is actually not a big deal. the cool thing is, that bitcoin has so many use cases...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2nXgK34HIM

That video got me so damn bullish when it came out. I love D'Angelo's videos, he's smart and they are very well put together.
For those that can't or for whatever reason don't want to click on the youtube link it's a speculative video about what the price could be like if bitcoin starts to take a percentage of the gold market or remittance market.

They also made a widget so you could play with the price yourself:  http://worldbitcoinnetwork.com/BitcoinPriceModel-Alpha.html
787  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I want to start a bitcoin gambling Casino. on: August 08, 2015, 03:30:01 PM

I don't know much about your coding skills but this is not a job for an average wordpress user.

Then you need money.

300k$ will do the job. More money in your bank, less chances to get cleared up.

Wordpress users don't have coding skills  Tongue
I kid, I kid!  Cheesy  But seriously you would need to be comfortable coding your own web apps from scratch, there's no template method here.

And the money part is 100% true, some players have big bankrolls and will come in there hoping to wipe you out. It's not a cheap endeavor by any means.

There's also the legal part you need to think about, bitcoin casinos are not legal in most territories, and if you become popular you could become a target.
788  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for a Bitcoin dice widget on: August 08, 2015, 05:19:37 AM
The dice section on yobit is weak, the user can't select the probability/payout and it's not provably fair either. Not sure why anyone would risk their BTC on that site. Running a dice site comes with lots of risk, have you thought of setting up a moneypot dice widget? They handle the heavylifting and even provide the bankroll, you make commission on the bets made.

The market cap on a $5 million coin today would be 72 trillion (5,000,000 * ~14,470,500 = 72,352,500,000,000). The total market cap of gold is only 6 trillion, so putting a price tag of 5 million seems a bit out there.
790  Economy / Services / Selling AdSpace on Popular New Faucet+Dice on: August 08, 2015, 03:01:02 AM
Hey all my new faucet that also includes a dice game is getting some pretty good traffic and I'd like to sell some ad space. The site is clean and has only one ad currently, and I plan to keep the ads to very few.  Over 50K page views, 1600 users since August 4th.

https://i.imgur.com/rLBC2Cj.png?1

Only one slot available, for a horizontal banner.

Your ad will go live on Sunday night/Monday morning and last a week, looking for at least 0.003BTC per day.
If interested or questions, post here.

791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the amount that every Bitcoiner should own ? on: August 08, 2015, 02:33:42 AM
Don't get your hopes high. While it is true that less that 90% bitcoiners hold less that 1 BTC, there are some pretty rich individuals out there who hold more that 1000 BTC.
Early adopters are out there and are waiting for bitcoin to reach high value. I seriously doubt it will be sufficient to hold 1 or even 10 BTC to have significant capital in the future.

If you think you can buy more, then buy, if you want to be safe I think that about 100 BTC would be sufficient. If you think less is enough - you are being naive.

This is like saying 100k or 1 Million Dollar is nothing because there are people out there who own a few billion dollar. Stupid argument imo.
And what happens when Bitcoin reaches high price? Your assumption I guess is that they might cash out right? And so the price dumps.
But early adopters could have cashed out in december 2013 to mid last year for a making a really high profit.

I believe some of them might sell a part of their stash. But also believe that in the next big rally these  dumps will be quickly absorbed by people who want to get in or to accumulate more.So no big deal. A few whales sell and Bitcoin gets more distribution.Win win situation.

100 BTC is about 28000 dollar. I highly doubt that the average guy here can accumulate this in 5 years. In 10 years might be possible for good minority.
I'd say an amount of 5-25, or maybe 50 BTC if someone really can afford it, is a really good amount to aim out for.

Keep in mind the risk. So do yourself a favour and only invest what you can afford to lose.

Yea there are some people with thousands but there are billions of people with zero. If bitcoin catches on and becomes a "go to" for store of value or remittance or another market, those billions of people with zero will want some of your measly 1 bitcoin, and you can bet that if any of those billions with zero are wealthy, they will want to be bitcoin wealthy and pay a great deal to carry their existing wealth over into the crypto world.
792  Economy / Speculation / Re: ETA for the ETF? (and Gemini Exchange speculation) on: August 08, 2015, 02:04:10 AM
ETF has the potential to open the floodgates to massive amounts of capital by eliminating that friction. That ought to have a very substantial upward effect on the price.

That's very true, it can also validate bitcoin to non-believers if they see a real bitcoin ETF trading on NADAQ or NYSE.
It might make people actually look into bitcoin and learn what it's really about instead of dismissing it because they heard it was a ponzi scheme and the CEO died in 2013.
793  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I want to start a bitcoin gambling Casino. on: August 08, 2015, 01:41:53 AM
After all said and done I think the OP should have resolved to use a free moneypot script and let us know the name of his casino website because we all contributed to the success.

money pot is shit
alright kindly tell us if you have a better one.

Well OP unkindly told you that he dislikes moneypot  Wink
For those that can't write their own code, the Untitled Dice script using moneypot API is your best solution. They even handle the bankroll, so it's literally NO RISK.
If OP is going to bgin learning programming, which everyone should learn at least some IMO, he will have a while before he can put together a working casino, but in the process would gain a great skill.
794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most beautiful block explorer ever ? on: August 08, 2015, 01:31:32 AM
That's a really cool explorer! I like how it labels multisig addresses with keyholes.
Any other musicians in here??
They have the tones set to play within a scale, but it's random so it's driving me crazy waiting for it to resolve back to I when it plays  I, III, V, I   and then doesn't resolve  Angry
795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Closed Permanently on: August 08, 2015, 01:07:43 AM
Maybe too many people were losing bitcoin by entering blank brain wallets?
1HZwkjkeaoZfTSaJxDw6aKkxp45agDiEzN

There was that story last week or so about someone putting 50BTC into that wallet.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3f2kc8/someone_may_have_lost_50_btc_using_blank/

Any idea who the owner(s) of the site were?
796  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much do you think 1 Bitcoin will be worth in 2020? on: August 08, 2015, 01:00:46 AM
It is a long time until 2020. I remember that people have been called crazy in the beginning of 2013 for predicting an exchange price of over $100 for 1 BTC. I wouldn't be surprised if 1 BTC will be exchanged for a sum in the six or seven figures in 2020, if everything evolves very positive for the Bitcoin economy.

If BTC were traded for 6 or 7 figures in 2020 what do you think will happen with mining farms? The reward will be 6.25 per block and at six or seven figures per coin that's a serious amount of income.  Will they be guarded or maybe even government sanctioned then? They would be the gold mines of the future!
797  Economy / Speculation / Re: Critical Levels - EW analysis on: August 08, 2015, 12:58:13 AM
Kind of disappointing how BFX and stamp munted the triangle form bottoming under wave c but with good form in china there is no reason why wave iv cant bottom here in the west with the existing form. Call it a double combo but it doesnt really matter.

Nice, looking good there as always chessnut!  It's been refreshing to see your bullish charts lately!

And like Fakhoury said above, if we break $300 do you think we'll stay out of the $200's for the long term?
798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the amount that every Bitcoiner should own ? on: August 07, 2015, 06:30:31 PM
If you are a real bitcoiner you should own at least one whole bitcoin. Especially at these low prices its very doable if you save a lityle.
799  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 07, 2015, 12:53:48 PM
Did anyone buy ETH?

Currently trading at 150x ipo price!!!

(well 25btc worth but still lol. Actually trading at 20x ipo)

Sounds like the perfect pump.
I'd be very careful about buying in during a run up like that combined with it being the IPO time as well.
Many alts have done similar right after release, huge pump followed by huge dump...
800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who are the next adopters? on: August 07, 2015, 12:49:16 PM

Brazil and south american markets maybe, numbers are showing growth and they have a need for solid currency.

Yea I get a lot traffic on youtube and my sites from Brazil but also from central Asia.
These could be the next adopters.
