Poor LambChop. Newbies cannot post pictures anymore and Adam is so harsh demonstrating it Tongue

The best meta update to happen to this forum since newbie jail. What a glorious day!
502  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [Primedice.com] Making it rain - Free 0.01 BTC each on: September 08, 2015, 12:52:19 AM

Nov 2nd 2014

I started using primedice shortly after V2 was released. It was my main goto site for some bitcoin fun. But the questions is "why did I START using primedice".  I chose primedice because of their reputation, I didn't want to play on some brand new site where the owner would just run away with the funds after a few months. So the short answer is I trusted PD more than the other sites.

PS  Thanks again Stunna for another awesome giveaway!

You can only put a max of 3 adsense ads on a page per adsense TOS. If I were you I would remove two of your adsense ads if you don't want to get banned for life.
504  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FaucetMiner - The Faucet Mining Game on: September 08, 2015, 12:42:26 AM
Eww, I got a pop-up ad the moment I opened your site. Please get rid of the pop-up ads, these are very annoying and make most visitors leave.
The site itself is really neat, and I like the concept. Keep it up, but get rid of the pop-ups.
505  Other / Archival / Re: Can I get a third party to look at this message log and mediate? on: September 07, 2015, 07:45:34 PM
You never wrote, mentioned or agreed to a price of 0.125, that price was only ever stated by Coinosourus. I think both parties are slightly at fault for not confirming and now both think the other is a scammer when neither users are. There is clearly a communication issue error between these messages.  There should have been a confirmation message confirming the price since there was a discrepancy. Now you have this awkward situation. Maybe meet in the middle 0.08BTC and call it even?
506  Economy / Services / Re: Who wants FaucetBox faucet designs? starts from 0.05 BTC on: September 07, 2015, 07:31:32 PM
You should provide some examples to show what you can offer.
There are a lot of free scripts for faucetbox available, and many are very similar and boring.
507  Economy / Gambling / Re: Pure Dice | Number ONE Bitcoin and 1Coin dice rolling game | 2500 Free Satoshi on: September 07, 2015, 07:27:29 PM
Site runs very slowly. So much so that it is nearly impossible to play. What language did you write this in? The site feels like something from the late 90's.
508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: price difference on various marketplaces - beginners question on: September 07, 2015, 07:22:46 PM
Just like when you have 3 grocery stores nearby, they all carry apples but the prices are usually a little different. Different exchanges have different prices because they have different buyers and sellers. Each market is individual. Although they all tend to follow the same direction (up, or down) the actual price is usually a bit off by a few dollars.
509  Economy / Gambling / Re: CMDbit - A command line designed dice game! on: September 07, 2015, 11:44:19 AM
Wow this is one very interesting and original idea! I like the idea but I have to agree with the above post... I don't think you will attract very many players without a UI.
510  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how faucet owner get approved for AdSense ? on: September 07, 2015, 04:27:23 AM

"However google will reviews sites from time-to-time and faucets are technically against their TOS. "

Where did you read that?

They approve my faucet without any problems..

Edit: I'm receiving payouts.

Do you mind if I ask how many payouts and how long you have been using adsense on your faucet?
Maybe I should keep my faucet going after all... I'm just afraid they will ban me from adsense for life like they have done to others since I use them for more than just my faucet.
511  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how faucet owner get approved for AdSense ? on: September 07, 2015, 03:04:45 AM
I think the best way is to apply with another website or blog and then add the ads in your faucet

Bingo!  This is how I got adsense on my sites. I started with placing it on an informational/how-to site. Then I applied to put it on my youtube. Then after a little while I put it on my faucet. However google will reviews sites from time-to-time and faucets are technically against their TOS.

Encouraging clicks - This includes, but is not limited to, offering compensation to users for viewing ads or performing searches, promising to raise money for third parties for such behavior or placing images next to individual ads.

Content guidelines - Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites or reading emails

Gambling content -  This includes any content that allows users to place bets or play games in exchange for an opportunity to earn money or other prizes.

I don't know how moonbit.co.in keeps adsense... So far mine seems to be going fine, but who knows what will happen in a few weeks when they are supposed to send me a payout. I'm debating whether or not to keep my faucet going and risking an adsense ban or ditching the faucet. Can anyone confirm that they are receiving consistent payouts from adsense with their faucets active?
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposal to add Bitcoin symbol to Unicode on: September 05, 2015, 01:23:01 AM
How do we show our support for the proposal?  Is there some sort of online petition we sign or is support only useful if we're notable in some way?

This. I would like to know the same. Is there anything we can do to show support? Hopefully whoever makes the decision knows about bitcoin's rise to legitimacy recently. There's a ticker on CNN Money markets section, it's garnered support from NYSE and is accepted by a couple large players in retail.
513  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: September 04, 2015, 01:50:32 AM
No way.  This isn't a question for this generation. This would be a better question for a children or grandchildren's generation (depending on your age).
Maybe in 50 years? But who knows how much bloodshed there will be from the collapse and attempts to save the petro-dollar during that timeframe.
514  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 04, 2015, 01:46:16 AM
Looks like we have some movement on bitfinex. Yup, movement confirmed we have went up by $1. Hold onto your butts, we might up $1.05 before your know it  Wink
515  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Running a poker/dice site with bitcoin gambling in the USA? on: September 04, 2015, 01:44:26 AM
I don't think it's worth it. If you are living free in the united states and have no convictions, why ruin your life just to try and make a few bucks with an online bitcoin casino?  I've thought about putting one up as well since I'm a web developer but the risks out-weigh the rewards. So I made a faucet with a dice game built-in instead so it's not technically gambling since users can't deposit LOL  Cheesy  I like my life and freedom, and don't want to end up being made an example of like Ross and others.
516  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Calling All Faucet Owners for Collaboration Project on: September 04, 2015, 01:29:45 AM
i made a survey a couple of months ago for faucet users. Most only do faucets 40 min a day and would rather have a faucet that pays high but the timer is 24 hours then collecting 150 every 10 min. i have recently changed my payout from 500 to 1200 and profits are better with a-ads most def. bitmedia is still slow ,i might get 3 clicks with these stats http://statcounter.com/p10436506/summary/?account_id=5243381&login_id=5&code=ffd04529f1ba8807fd52ff6327a82fa4&guest_login=1

also there is a variable in my site when it comes to profit ,i have a list of faucets on my site and i have affiliate ads not regular media ads and i do very well with them and the list pays the faucet claims and profits only a few satosh a day do to high payouts but i set it that way because the profit grows everyday wit the list there.

here is my a-ads with those stats  https://a-ads.com/ad_units/79075

That's good information for the a-ads and alternative ad services.  You don't use adsense on your site? As long as you follow their rules they allow faucets.  Just take moonbit.co.in for example
517  Economy / Micro Earnings / Project: Faucet Profit Calculator on: September 04, 2015, 12:01:33 AM
http://jsfiddle.net/6c7Lendv/2/

I put together this attempt at a simple faucet profit calculator.
Why? Because there are none that exist. The reason none exist is probably because there are so many variables when running a faucet but regardless I think if we can get enough of us together to collaborate we could come up with something that is very close to being accurate.
Why? Because the number one question from new faucet owners seems to be how much to set the reward at and time interval. Also the bitcoin price has been known to fluctuate  Wink and a calculator could help adjusting rewards easier.

I put it in a JSfiddle (http://jsfiddle.net/6c7Lendv/2/) and commented out everything so that others can easily fork it with their changes.

What requires the most amount of input to make the calculator more accurate are the assumptions:

  • How many claims does the average unique user make per day?
  • What is the average ad revenue per unique user per day? (I made a poll for this because it's against google's TOS to disclose earnings, the poll will make it anonymous enough that google won't track you down Wink )

There are some faucet owners out there that force people to click ads. You're 50% click-thru rate is not helpful knowledge to this project as it is against EVERY advertising service's TOS. People doing this will just get banned anyways, so those figures are useless.

I know I'm missing things like referral bonus and earnings made from bitcoin ad services like a-ads or referring to other faucets etc. We could probably just create checkboxes on the calculator and add those figures.

Please post your input and your forked versions in this thread. If you make a change to the code, please post the link AND describe the changes you made.
518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There Must Be A Way We Can All Vote on: September 03, 2015, 12:52:42 PM
How do you separate an individual from a computer/ IP address when trying to let everyone vote online?
I don't think it's possible.  The best I can think of is 1 vote per coin per IP. Would need a better way to prevent whales and exchanges from having multiple votes other than the "one per IP" rule...
519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could a faucet owner include their payouts as donations on their taxes in US? on: September 03, 2015, 12:36:58 PM
For regular people, you can only deduct donations made to charitable organizations. Payments to random people are not deductible.

http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc506.html

Quote
To be deductible, you must make charitable contributions to qualified organizations. Payments to individuals are never deductible. To determine if the organization that you have contributed to qualifies as a charitable organization for income tax deduction purposes, review Exempt Organizations Select Check on IRS.gov. For more information, see Publication 526, Charitable Contributions and Can I Deduct My Charitable Contributions? on IRS.gov.

The exception is if your faucet is operated by a qualified charitable organization, and giving out coins is part of the organization's charter. But this doesn't appear to be the case.

Well there it is, thanks Soros! I knew my wandering mind while driving was crazy! So someone would have to create a faucet that only paid out to qualified organizations which would be nearly impossible and entirely unpractical.
520  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: September 03, 2015, 04:36:08 AM
So, what's next? Wave I ?

It will be a looong story.... 1 I will recognize in running 3. Its a three-five years.

:-) I'm sure it is not possible to keep $230 price for next 3-5 years. I'm also sure we cannot go down. => so we will go up drastically THIS year

Time to put in your longs boys and girls! I'm bullish, but then again I always am. I put in some trades from time to time when the market makes certain patterns. I took a long position 3-4 days ago and I plan to hold it for over a week. I expect we'll be in the $250-260 range this weekend followed by a rise to over $300.

What indicator would lead you to believe this? Outside of some major news item I don't see how we make any significant move as long as the block size boogeyman looms
