121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Honest comparison of IOTA vs Byteball on: April 27, 2017, 01:30:02 AM
Hi people,

Without lies or FUD can I please get an honest comparison of IOTA vs Byteballs?

I have already bought some Byteballs and am interested if IOTA is also worth adding to my collection.

From what I can tell right now both are DAG currencies.

Are there any other differences?

How about developers? Is it just Tony with Byteball and CFB for IOTA? Anyone else joining either development yet?

122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: April 26, 2017, 06:11:51 PM
Seqwit locked in.

Unfortunately many whales have been waiting for this moment and are unloading years worth of LTC.

The price is heading back down, expect $3 again soon.

I guess this is Litecoin's last 15 minutes of fame?

It came too close to touching God and now it has been burned.

Do blackbytes use the same address as byteballs?
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storjcoin X (SJCX) - A Coin for Decentralized Cloud Storage on: April 24, 2017, 12:37:00 PM
Wow Storj receive 3 mln dollars and want to sell tokens more. Wth really.. They have enough money right now for development...... Or they just want to have bigger sallary

ICO is the worst move from such solid team..

Remember of Amp ico on 30k sats.. now price 3x less....

I am ok with them doing another ICO because $3 million isn't going to keep development up for the next 5 years.

I know people see $3 million or even $15 million and think greed, greed, greed but it's not that simple.

For example, a big part of Storjcoin is building clients that basically need to compete with dropbox in usability etc...

I think that the team should not burn any tokens and do sells offs as they need to to keep the money flowing in over the next 10 years.

With perhaps $100 million in funding spread over 10 years they might actually become a competitor to Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.....

$3 million will burn out soon enough and then what?

Just my opinion.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 24, 2017, 12:27:46 PM
Are there any plans to allow integration with Ledger Nano S even using the Monero GUI wallet?

I desperately want to have my Monero keys on a hardware wallet.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: April 24, 2017, 12:25:19 PM
It still have big market cap so no reason to delist it right now.
Coin is still tradeable and mineable, blockchain is not broken, so...

Yep, it survived another Polo cull - I was pretty surprised to be honest - Maybe some of the polo team have substantial holdings in the coin - price and volume were very low until recently

Even though I don't hold Bytecoin I still think it's pretty shitty that we as a community of peoples interested in decentralized technologies are beholden to these centralized exchanges.

Just ranting.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 24, 2017, 12:23:06 PM
Version 1.8.1 released https://github.com/byteball/byteball/releases.

This is a bugfix release.
* Fixed a rare validation error that could cause a crash
* Fixed handling of responses from malfunctioning peers, this could cause sync to stall
* Fixed a crash when starting a light client for the first time
* Fixed a crash when opening chat on some old Android phones
* Other small bugfixes and improvements

Hi Tony,

My Byteball app would crash whenever I tried to do a full backup, so instead I am backing up the folder in the user local folder manually. This seems to include all the chain / DAG, etc...

There isn't anything else I need to backup that I should be aware of is there?
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unveiling the truth over the major Monero scam on: April 20, 2017, 07:37:08 AM
How is this thread still a thing?

Probably because people occasionally bump it after 5 weeks of inactivity.

My bad.
129  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: April 20, 2017, 03:52:11 AM
I'm sure everyone here has learn't a lesson with this.

A few things I learnt that have helped me a lot over the past few years include:

1. Don't invest into anything where you're relying on a third party exclusively.

2. Don't go all in.

Regarding 1, this was back in the day that these ventures had their shares on centralised exchanges. I remember that after two exchanges went down the toilet I lost access to the shares and from that point onwards had no control.

These days I only touch ventures that I know I can trade in a decentralised manner (such as ERC20).
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEW*[ANN][ICO]*OFFICIAL*LGD*MEMBERSHIP TOKEN SALE*BITTREX EXCHANGE* on: April 20, 2017, 03:39:56 AM
I really appreciate that your Crowdsale is hosted by Bittrex and that they verify a working wallet, blockchain, and block explorer  Cool

If the token is an ERC20 token then that makes sense. I hold quite a few ERC20 tokens, they are as easy to use as ETH.

This is an example of a project that makes more sense to be ontop of Ethereum instead of trying to build out on it's own.

Does simply holding 5,000 or more tokens grant membership or do you have to "spend" them to gain entry?

Do we need to relink the address that we linked in the last round?

OK so my full wallet is crashing for no reason, can someone please provide instructions for installing the light wallet? How do I do that? What do I need to backup?

Hey everyone,

So Zack just read ICO_DNA article and did not like it, so he replied.

You can find his response here.

137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: April 01, 2017, 09:28:16 AM
What is the emission rate for this coin?

I can see on CryptoMarketcap that the current supply is 98,328,498 STRAT.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 01, 2017, 08:33:17 AM
As the blockchain scaling problem continues people are going to look more into alternatives and soon they will notice that directed acyclic graph is superior. Much faster transcation times.
So with byteball we have conditional payments, chatbots and payments in chat. Very light and easy to use wallet and free distribution when all you have to do is sign a messege from your bitcoin wallet and link your address.
I don't see any reason not to get involved in this

Is there any privacy concerns with linking a bitcoin address to a byteball?

What the public knows: The public bitcoin address that links to the public byteball address.

As far as the move from Bitcoin to Byteball goes, it's all in the public domain.

If someone knows that you own X bitcoin address and you link that, then they can tell that you own those Byteballs.

Is it possible to be apart of the next round using Bitcoins stored in a Nano S hardware wallet?
