ignore everything here. release it tonight.  good working!

You can't even construct a proper sentence, why would a highly skilled developer even listen to you? What a waste of space, even if your post only takes up several kilobytes it's not worth it.

Just a DRK fanboi,it had to happen sooner or later...

CryptoNote fanboi. I've never held DarkCoin.

why are you pushing this dev to give you whitepaper or something at this crucial stage.

i am not a native english speaking guy. but are you really feeling satisfied by mocking my english here?

when the wallet released, everything will be clear. the dev may have his own strategy.

so go fuck yourself, you stupid bully

A request for the whitepaper is extremely important, if he doesn't want to release it then he can at least address my questions regarding his post. His post that makes little sense.

As far as I am concerned, the developer has not achieved what the community believe he has achieved, and now you and the rest of the people here are trying to pump this coin for no reason other than to dump it.

He has not released anything except a screenshot and a very poor description of an anonymous system.

You don't even question his lack of knowledge and instead work to pump, pump and pump.

I don't trust you and I believe you're only here to pump, pump and pump!

The developer is being deceptive.

...and you are Hiro member and such moron... Grin

Perhaps I am a moron, I have done many moronic things in my time!

However, my moronicness aside, please be wary of the poor description the lead developer has given for his 100% tor based anonymous system.

your English is fine, don't worry about him, he probably speaks one language, u speak multiple..do i need to say more  Wink

Please do.
1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 25, 2014, 01:17:54 PM
Looks like miners, or somebody, is voting on the 2-minute block vs 1-minute block.

QCN now higher than MRO on polo.

A slightly higher price on the back of 18.5 BTC in volume vs. MRO's 273 BTC volume? Not a relevant comparison.

QCN 0.0091 on 293, MRO 0.0056 on 620.

Relevant yet?

QCN has been relevant for a while, out of the two I am only holding MRO, but I can see that QCN is doing really well.

It's volume is very high, but more importantly the QCN hashrate is now over 50% of MRO. Hashrate talks in Crypto.

I'm not sure what is it about QCN that makes it more appealing to people, is it really the 2 minute blocks? Or the slower release schedule?

Whatever it is, QCN is becoming more and more relevant every hour.

You didn't even quote the dev.

Yes I did.

But he ignored me.

This release is pure mixer technology v1.0 - it uses existing supernode concepts, with encrypted data packets... v2.0 will use [removed] and run on top of tor and be 100% anonymous

1) What is "pure mixer technology v1.0"? Please describe this system.

2) Are the supernodes concepts duplicated from DarkCoin?

3) What difference exactly do the encrypted data packets mean? Does the supernode share a key with each client and how are these keys moved throughout the network?

4) What is [removed]?

5) How does tor make any difference? Who controls the node or point of "transaction joining"?

6) Please explain how it can be 100% anonymous, from a mathematical perspective no system can be 100% anonymous, not even CryptoNote or Zerocoin.

I'd still like to see a whitepaper please, with proper citations. All legitimate anonymous coins have published whitepaper so far. Otherwise it may be considered a scam even though I like the fact that you real identity is known. It is not like shitcoindev etc just serial cloning existing technology.

Have you released other X11 coins before under any other names? Most x11 cloners at least provide links to Darkcoin and cite Evan. He has a real identity too, at least show some courtesy.

It's less about identity and more about facts.

Here his statement is vague and could mean anything.

What concepts is he referring to? What is removed? How will being on tor mask the network transactions?

It sounds like the developer doesn't even know what he's talking about.

you also forget to mention that cryptonote is not compatible with bitcoin, so forget the notion of cryptonote and bitcoin. its a clever marketing play for cryptonote, which has been discredited already.

The side chain only needs to allow for pegging into and out from the Bitcoin blockchain, how the chain operates after a peg does not matter.

This statement is false.

Thats a bit selective of you.

He also said crytonote implementation was badly implemented.

Please link that to me I am genuinely interested.

I recall he said that the Proof of Work was poorly done and should have been done differently, but I do not recall anything about the CryptoNote ring signature technology being poorly implemented.
1029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 25, 2014, 09:57:21 AM
Why you keep talking BTC vs. DRK

DRK is nowhere near BTC. It's going to take months/years to get such an adoption that BTC currently has. I'm a big supporter of both but talking about there can only be one is just stupid

I'm not saying there will be one, there are thousands and there always will be.

The argument that a second coin will exist with a significant market cap in comparison to Bitcoin is even plausible and I agree with it.

If Darkcoin or Monero succeeds in being number 2 or 3 or 4, they could easily have a multi billion dollar market cap with Bitcoin sitting at the top ($100 billion).

I never said anything against Darkcoin being worth 10% of Bitcoin, or Monero being worth 10% of Bitcoin.

What I did say was this:

Wow altcoins are a mess right now. So many coins talking about implementing anonymous transactions. Coins getting 400% price pumps just on the rumour that they will be able to do what DarkSend already does. DRK trolls everywhere. It's all pretty ugly.

I like it, it's shaking up the market. It seems we've caused a mini-boom in altcoin world.

I guess we are platinum to bitcoin's gold... platinum is a catalyst, so we are catalyzing the whole field.

You're a joke account right? You really believe that Darkcoin is the platinum to Bitcoin's gold?

These people actually believe that Darkcoin will overtake and replace Bitcoin as the main CryptoCurrency.

With all the issues about Darkcoin (Masternode centralisation weakness, CoinJoin being inferior to CryptoNote, the source being closed for a long time, the insta-mine) I cannot see any reality where Darkcoin overtakes Bitcoin.

And that is what AlexGR believes will happen.

DarkSend will be open-sourced next month -- rather than being silly and talking in hypotheticals about BTC's future development let's see if a better solution is released before DarkSend hits the market.

See I believe that a better system already exists, see CryptoNote.

The bloat is real, but it's a side effect of proper decentralized anonymity.

Masternodes are central points of attack, that the community cannot see this as an urgent issue is beyond me.
1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 25, 2014, 09:46:07 AM
Why's Bitcoin better?

- CoinJoin (the absolute fundamental basis of Darkcoin) was developed by a Bitcoin developer and he said that Darkcoin is an useless alternative coin with a terrible solution to the constructing transaction pool problem.

- Bitcoin has a lot of development going on behind the scenes, some ideas such as side trees and side chains may very soon allow Bitcoin to adopt all any feature without having to code the core client.

- When an anonymous sidechain is made for Bitcoin, it will not be CoinJoin but it'll probably be based off CryptoNote technology. Many Bitcoin developers are impressed with the CryptoNote technology.

I think its fair to say that BTC will have a hard time adopting/chaining with anonymous features such is their vested interest in Washington already.

See this is FUD.

The majority of the core developers are very interested in adding features that will increase Bitcoin adoption, however meddling with the core is a terrible idea (it's a $7 billion code base)

The best thing they are working on is two way pegging, this will allow Bitcoin to react to all these new experimental ideas. (many core developers are in agreement that a system like Side chains is needed)

2 weeks ago I posted that there is a risk for a retest of 350, but that afterwards we would have 7 upweeks until 650 in the end of June.

Well the first part never materialized, but the second one is doing well. If we adjust the low point to 420, it would mean about 800 in the end of June.

Bitcoin typically surprises with its speed. Many months ago people calculated that July would be the time to make a new top, but many have renounced those predictions since, because the downtrend was so terrible. We have 9-10 weeks until the end of July, and Bitcoin is very capable of rising to $5/mBTC in that time.

It is also possible that we see some stabilization at a certain sub-ATH level. What I don't believe, however, is that we will see prolonged corrections from the trend high point. Typically the corrections in an uptrend are short. Flashcrashes that are instantly bought back are a feature that we are in a solid uptrend.

The sell zone trigger price in 2014-7-31 is $5.2-$5.8.

SlipperySlopes model would suggest sell price would be more around 3.2 - 4.0?

The previous 'bubbles' ended when the price was at exactly +0.47 log units above trend.

I'd advice selling between +0.4 and +0.45 log units above trend, depending on how much risk/reward you like to see.

The lowest points between the tops has been mostly -0.45 or so below trend. So that would be a good point to rebuy.

What the price is exactly depends on what time we are at, as the log price increases every day.

That went a little over my head. How do you define trend? Is it a certain price level over a certain time interval?

nothing new in this coin + only dev stage dunno why ppl like it  Shocked

The community believe that the developer has created an anonymous wallet and it's likely to dwarf Darkcoin's capabilities.

Although I doubt anyone here cares actually about anonymity, if they did they would already be using MRO, people know the keyword for pump these days is "anonymous wallet." Therefore XC needs an anonymous wallet.

But there is also the issue of technological advancement. Now nodes do know what they are transacting, but improvements are on the way, so buying the nodes might prove futile, not in 20 years, but in 2 months.

These improvements would perhaps be major Computer Science breakthroughs, as far as I can tell the lead developer is a programmer without expert abilities with regards to Mathematics or Cryptography.

I'm not sure what improvements he could be developing.

This is one possible solution:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homomorphic_encryption#Toward_fully_secure_Internet_applications

However it's cutting edge research and the mathematics are rather complex.

Can someone help me with setting up this coin?
The link to the windows GUI seems to be broken and i cant download it, and im unsure how to configure the miner.
TIA

See:

And use a pool with stratum.

How come? Our trendlines are pretty much the same, and he is selling at +0.4 and I am at +0.45, which are $5+

(We are still at -0.35 if anyone thought that the rally is getting exhausted. No, it has hardly climbed to one knee so far.)

Any idea of a possible peak?

If this is the next big rally, can we expect $3,000 peak with a level off around $1,500?
