Offtop of course, but maybe someone will suggest good resources related to trading on stock markets, metals, etc?

As an official funding partner, I think somebody from Intersango needs to come to this thread and explain what (if any) is the plan of action to bring Bitcoinica back online and/or to refund the customers balances.
I have several pending orders from customers + a balance with them, and I need to know how to proceed. I appreciate Zhou maintaining us informed, however, as he clearly pointed, he does not own nor control Bitcoinica anymore, so we need to hear from the owners, and we need to hear from them fast. A lot of time has passed by now.
Agreed, this is being handled terribly, if it weren't for zhoutong we wouldn't know anything at all. I agree. I have been in this forum since September 2010 regularly, and this is the worst handling of an issue. Even more worrying is that amir taaki who I respect and who is with intersango is quiet like a mouse. This is not a sign of "customer is king attitude" I would have expected

While this is a good intent, I doubt that this will provide real useful information. For instance, many of my subscribers do not at all or not regularly visit the forum and won't bother to vote here.

New short term alert out to subscribers: TITLE: The ALL-IN-CHART

I had been subscribed to S3052, but I doubt I will continue it. These services IMO can only benefit those with a lot of money to play with, at this point of maturity in the BTC market. And honestly, the last few reports have just been boring as hell. Cuz ya know, "the price is finally stable!" Hi Buddy, you are right that the bitcoin market got a bit boring lately, but I still think it is better to protect people from wrong trades and be boring than to lure them into bad and loss-making trades.
The boring times will end quite soon...

Damn it, this sideways movement is driving me crazy. Even bitcoinica fail cannot change this... This is quite normal... the moment most people give up, the moment the train starts leaving the station.

I haven't been a great fan of Bitcoinica in the past. The service introduced, at times, great volatility into bitcoin's price and I felt bitcoin itself was too immature to sustain a leveraged short selling system.
Speculation in general and Bitcoinica in particular reduce volatility. Bitcoinica going away will not make things more stable, but will have the opposite effect. Thankfully Kronos.io arrives just in time. what is kronos.io

The short selling option at bitcoinica is actually helping avoiding bigger sell offs, as short sellers MUST eventually buy back to avoid getting wiped out.
Now, with bitcoinica down, no one has to buy (=cover shorts) any more, and selling pressure could mount.

Its quite simple and nothing bad here: The article is based on May 2 analysis with an update from May 9. Then I did the May 10 analysis and the short term chart picture changed bearish.

*lol* The funny thing is, always if S3502 starts announcing a big rally, the prices start dropping. This also works the other way around, so its predictions can work well as a good contraindicator This cannot be just coincidence that the market is relatively stable for nearly a month, and as soon as S3502 starts talking about the big breakout, and the rally that will retest all-time-high (the usual bubble words, you know), then price drops down like a stone. To clarify. It is exactly the opposite of what you are talking about. The article mentioned is actually based on the May 2 weekly bitcoin newsletter.
Yesterday evening, May 10th, we issued a new analysis and turned bearish. Right after that it is when prices fell.
The most recent analyses are only for paying subscribers.

For all that money bitcoinica could have rented dedicated servers and admins. Or they could have hired some programmers to write multi-sig software.
Apparently, they made 50 k USD per month as profit. They should easily be able to reimburse with a couple of months of their profit.
And I agree, if they don't reimburse, it is their end.

I have repeatedly told people that Bitcoinica is a scam and that Bitcoinica staff should be banned from the forums.
Maybe now people will actually listen.
Bitcoinica is a regulated entity, verifiable by government records. We are one of the most legitimate businesses in Bitcoin community, by any standard. I second that, and vouch for Zhou and the Bitcoinica team. I refuse to give people who donate 64k BTC to hackers and devalue all of our Bitcoins any credence. Hopefully the reward will attract even more hackers! If we decide to reimburse our customers this time, we will buy the exact amount from the market anyway. We don't want to owe any Bitcoins. USD is always the debt currency for us. If?... Interesting! I'm not the guy making such decisions, sorry. Like I said in my edited post, IF you don't reimburse your customers I will want to see you and all of Intersango staff wearing a scammer tag, and genjix(or anyone connected with Intersango) kicked out of the Bitcoin dev team. That's all! You're no better than Tom Williams if you don't fully reimburse your customers. Intersango still owes me 5 btc : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=60943.msg881128#msg881128If they did not refund that small change, I doubt they will do now. As much as I value the contribution of bitcoinica to the bitcoin economy, this is a big security issue for the entire bitcoin economy, because of the psychological damage it is causing.
At least there needs to be (i) a reimbursement and (ii) heightened security measures implemented in the near future.

Based on experience, one can trade exclusively using TA. I ignore completely any news since many years, and the more I focus on TA, the better my trading got.
Interesting. I've only met a few 100% pure TA traders, but all of them were successful. The ones that were not successful (>99%) were actually the ones who followed the news and other garbage financial headlines and claimed "90% TA" or something like that. This is spot on. Whenever I start using even only 1% of fundamentals, I get into the danger zone. This is why I have only charts on my screen, without even having a chance to read or hear the news when I am making any trading decisions.

Typically, you'd use log charts for longer term time frames (particularly when it involves exponential moves) and linear charts for the shorter term.
