Try adding this to your namecoin.conf file: printtoconsole=1

Then you should be able to see P2Pool polling namecoind.

What messages am I looking for in the namecoind logs?

Just wanted to say thanks! This really is a very response group Smiley

How can I verify that merged mining is working for me?

I haven't found a single NMC block since I use p2pool (since January).

Why does the hashrate of your pool vary so much? Does that mean it's getting hopped?
1205  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [459 GH] MaxBTC.com Pool - Merged NMC, Zero Fee, DGM, LP, API, SSL, Port 80 on: April 13, 2012, 07:02:36 AM
Why does the topic still say: "[459 GH] MaxBTC.com Pool ..."? We are below 100 GH now!
1206  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [360GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: April 10, 2012, 02:08:42 PM
After mining for about 4 month I again had pool split some days ago.

This time I didn't even get credit for my work.

I usually get ~0.10 BTC per found block from p2pool.

- It seems there was a split and on 2012-04-03 10:05:45 I got ~1.06 BTC (I was mining on that block for some days)

Unfortunately there are similar transactions on 2012-04-02 20:09:55 and on 2012-04-04 05:09:45 that are unconfirmed.

See for yourself: http://blockchain.info/address/1EZMh5fH33TFWLh6enwL86gam5LnEE2o4v

Question: Why are those transactions unconfirmed? What's going on?
1207  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [360GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: April 05, 2012, 02:31:15 PM
I just found that p2pool works with "Pool: 19628MH/s" on my host. Does that mean p2pool forked again and I am working on a branch?

I restarted my p2pool client - but it shows same Pool speed. What's going on?

I just checked my p2pool cruncher because of unusually low payouts.

Besides heaps of orphans in the log there are lots of lines like this here:

What's going on? I updated p2pool last week! So do I really need to update again?

How come our "reference" address http://blockexplorer.com/address/1Kz5QaUPDtKrj5SqW5tFkn7WZh8LmQaQi4 gets almost constant bounty per block (always ~0.16 per block) - while mine varies so much (0.02 - 0.17) http://blockexplorer.com/address/1EZMh5fH33TFWLh6enwL86gam5LnEE2o4v ?

I had my machine running 24 hours the lase couple of days.

did you receive block finder bounty?

block finder bounty?
1212  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [270GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: February 20, 2012, 11:21:01 AM
We performed 114% better than PPS pool, at least in last week(even with a 1day 7hours long block). Grin

And the next week it might be the other way round.

It's called variance  Cool

I have a host with 6970 and 7970.

Until now I have found no way to set GPU clock, mem clock and voltage at the same time.

- MSI Afterburner: I can set GPU clock and voltage, but mem clock can go no lower than 685
- Sapphire Trixx: GPU and mem clock can be set, but voltage is fixed
- ATI tray tools won't run with the 7970.

What to do?

Use Linux.

Hmm ... I never thought about mining using Linux. Because of all the driver madness that I was reading the last couple of years.

- which Catalyst would you suggest for Linux?
- which tool would you recommend to set GPU & mem clocks and voltage?

- cgminers command line flags seem to not work: the power consumption is way too high, also MSI Afterburner shows that mem clock goes up once the miner starts mining.

Frizz23 and anyone else having problems with apparent forks, upgrade to this and follow the above advice.

What happens to all those shared that have been submitted to a forked pool?

I haven't gotten any credit for those - so I assume they are lost.

Yes, they're gone now; However, they had some value when you created them. The forked pool could have found a block and paid you a handsome amount, but you just didn't have great luck. (Kind of like solo mining for a while and then giving up.)

This forked pool can still find a block. But after I have restarted p2pool I am no longer connected to this forked pool. Hence I don't get a reward for my work.

This seriously sucks about p2pool!

I have Windows 7 x64, AMD Catalyst 12.2 Pre-Certified Driver, 2 x 6970.

When starting cgminer 2.2.6 I get this error message:

Code:
[2012-02-18 18:41:15] Started cgminer 2.2.6
[2012-02-18 18:41:15] Probing for an alive pool

[2012-02-18 18:41:15] Restarting the GPU from the menu will not fix this.
[2012-02-18 18:41:15] Try restarting cgminer.

DiabloMiner works fine on this machine.

At the moment I am seeing 163GH/s ... does that mean the pool split again? Or did we lose almost half of our followers?

Pool is at 267-270 GHs.

This is what I see in the log right now:
Code:
2012-02-17 19:10:42.420000  Pool: 100GH/s Stale rate: 6.4% Expected time to block: 16.4 hours
