1221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin can provide Subscription Auto Renewal solution on: September 21, 2023, 02:30:08 PM
This can be done easily with the custodial wallet, but if you have a non-custodial wallet, you must write a library[1] or use open source scripts[2] that have automatic automation of transactions so that the amount of X is sent every first day of the month at 12:00 and thus you can automatically renew your service.

Foxpup did this with @LoyceV's Avatar

Two hundred and thirty-second week paid.

1222  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: USB port blocker on: September 21, 2023, 02:14:46 PM

Most if not all PCs can disable the USB ports in BIOS and you can also set a BIOS password so that cannot be changed without the password.

This is the best method, but I prefer to have a port for an SD card or even a USB. Sometimes, there is a need to transfer PSBT files, or there are large signatures for which a QR code cannot be created due to the lack of enough space.

Hardware wallets feature a secure element, so instead of spending money on a locked USB port, purchasing a hardware wallet with a secure element and creating a multi-signature wallet will greatly enhance the security of your coins.
1223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Repayment Deadline Increased for the MT Gox Exchange’s Creditors on: September 21, 2023, 01:48:58 PM
I hope that the date of October 31, 2024 is a final date in which the MT Gox problem will be resolved once and for all, and if this means that the currency will be done in batches or will be slightly regulated and the problems will be solved, I do not see that waiting will be a problem, especially since it is unlikely that we will reach the ATH by next October.
As for the effect on the price, it is calculated from the date the first customer receives his payments. If this happens, it will cause a temporary increase in the price, and then the news will be normal. The effect of MT Gox has ended and all that will happen is a temporary pump.

I just hope that the process ends quickly, otherwise when the price rises, we will start hearing that some people have sold thousands of Bitcoins, and this will be a reason to scare the price and break the ATH away from 150K.
1224  Other / Meta / Re: Considering new feature for Bitcoin Forum on: September 21, 2023, 01:15:32 PM
Your topic reminded me of an idea I put forward to develop the forum in 2019, which was titled ---> Merit isn’t enough, tipping using LN

When some members create high-quality posts, merits are not enough, they should be supported by some tipping.
LN has made the tipping possible with zero-cost costs.
Some applications have started to adopt this method on Twitter [You Can Now Send Bitcoin Tips Over Lightning on Twitter] and I would love to see this support officially in this forum.

The response from @theymos was as follows:

The forum will never hold users’ money.

Right, I was just about to post that.

People are free to open LN channels and send tips if they so choose.

LN is probably unsuitable for tips since the recipient has to be online. That's why these LN tipbots all hold your money, which I'm not a fan of. If you're using LN through a trusted third party, then you're better off not using it at all.

The forum does not want to accept money from users, and it is not possible to manage tipping LN network service without the need for a third party.
The most you will get is the ability to add a QR to your account, which you can do by modifying your avatar.
1225  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 1337mushroom.exchange - Peer To Peer Crypto Currency Exchange [BETA TESTING] on: September 21, 2023, 01:04:13 PM
Thank you for the recommendations, will update the modifications. If you see anything else let me know thanks. I would like some help testing the escrow system im currently working on the code for the custody
Without running a review campaign, you will not get anything, and if it is mandatory to complete KYC verification, I think the number of people who would be willing to do that here is very small. In general, if KYC were not mandatory, running a campaign for about $2,000 would be enough ($100 per review and about 20 reviews)

You need a more professional domain name and an expert advertising team, as the competition in this field is intense, and even services such as LBC and Paxful failed to win this competition.

Could you also elaborate why you specifically need "full-time traders"?
I think he is looking for people who have enough experience or consider trading a full-time job.
1226  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Elon Musk keep what he said or not? on: September 21, 2023, 12:39:06 PM
Tesla accepting Bitcoin again does not mean that the price will rise unless this is accompanied by investments in Bitcoin. They have already sold about 75% of their stake and now is the time if they want to buy. I expect that if they think about buying, they will buy in the fourth quarter of this year or the first quarter of Next year, the announcement will be either in March of next year or June, so nothing will change until the end of this year at least.

Elon Musk does not care about clean energy, and if he wanted a justification for continuing to accept Bitcoin, he would find it.
1227  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PNNV.com - Major update #2 - need your review, again! on: September 21, 2023, 11:38:31 AM

I see same thing. Can you fix it or you don't maintain website anymore? Preev is still not working as they supposed to work, so, alternatives like this one is needed
I can confirm this. I tried to do a reset but it did not work. It seems to be a problem related to Binance & Bitstamp APIs.
I do not use Telegram, but try to contact them using ----> https://t.me/PNNVMe someone may respond to you, although I think this problem will be solved.
I suggest adding a trusted member like @bitmover, as he has technical experience and is active here.
1228  Economy / Exchanges / Re: *warning* Huobi insolvency rumours on: September 21, 2023, 11:28:30 AM
I've said this many times before, but proof of reserves without proof of liabilities is utterly meaningless.

Some countries force platforms to deposit 25% of customer funds in a third-party wallet/fund that users can be compensated from it, but without listing these platforms on the stock exchange, it is difficult to even verify the validity of the liabilities.
They can claim and provide records of all assets but unless they are audited by a third party it makes no sense, these assets may not be cryptocurrencies.

The concept of proof of reserves emerged after what happened to FTX. It is a way to give clients a false feeling that their deposits are safe.
1229  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Duckdice verification failed on: September 20, 2023, 05:32:05 PM
Additionally OP can edit his post with this Scam Report Format:
Until this moment, we cannot describe this as scam, and the user did not describe what happened as fraud. Let's see the Duckdice team's response and then determine the next step, although I see that they have some previous problems that have not been resolved effectively.
So let's hope that the problem will be solved because adding more negative trust (open scam accusations) will not return the user's money.
1230  Other / Meta / Re: Can Avatar Sizes Automatically Adapt to Space? on: September 20, 2023, 04:59:53 PM
If this is done automatically, the appearance of the avatar will be very distorted. Imagine that you want to automatically resize 1200*630 to 120*80, and remember that the space is only 100 KiB size.
I once tried to edit a photo from the phone camera into an avatar, and the results were not good. Therefore, the more digital or computer-generated avatar, the clearer and better the results.

Remember : don't upload avatar many time then it can be suspended.
are you sure? How many times before you get suspended Roll Eyes Roll Eyes?
This is the first time I've heard of an account whose avatar was banned or suspended
1231  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: UK House of Lords passes bill to seize stolen crypto on: September 20, 2023, 04:49:15 PM
In the beginning, the laws are in favor of the public, but they quickly turn around to be the opposite, but I do not see how these currencies will be confiscated? I can understand some stablecoins and centralized tokens being asked to freeze coins (and they do) but it's very difficult with Bitcoin and Ethereum, and will that mean all users have to use CEXs as crypto wallet (any casual wallet) or what?
1232  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are the most effective campaign methods in 2023? on: September 20, 2023, 04:22:29 PM
It depends on what exactly you want to advertise. But in general, I would say it's better not to focus on single method if you want to have bigger reach. Signature campaigns, banner ads, hire some influencers, make paid press releases on popular websites.
How long does the service last and the skill of the advertising team is what plays a role, as there are things that bring long-term clients, such as Signature campaigns, banner ads, and things that bring direct followers, such as hire some influencers, especially on YouTube, as the video rarely gets continuous views after several months. .
Therefore, without a clear plan and the skill of the advertising team in controlling the budget to maintain the impact for the longest period with the least amount of payments is what determines the success of the project.

Honest reviews campaign, because first it will definitely attract filtered early adopters (they wouldn't bother testing the platform if they weren't interested). Furthermore, these reviews will become a means of reference for many readers and some of them will become potential users if the review summary shows satisfaction.
The reviews campaign is for the developing team and discovering defects in the system, not to create a brand or attract more customers. These reviews are also necessary for those who visit the service for the first time and want to make sure that everything is working.
1233  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Fake Celsius claimant Agent Website on: September 20, 2023, 04:09:15 PM
I fear that they may have obtained customer data from a data leak, and then they may obtain your name, email address, and account details, such as the remaining balance, which could be exploited to claim that this service is legitimate.
These scammers are looking for any possible opportunity to steal money, it is best to verify the claim website from an official link and ignore any other links.

I reported them ----> https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/
1234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Do you think Satoshi Would Think About Today's Bitcoin? on: September 20, 2023, 03:16:37 PM
If a change occurs because Satoshi wants this thing or does not want it, then we have not yet reached the level of decentralization required, but I think he will be happy, as Bitcoin has prompted changes in the lives of individuals and in the understanding of the economy, not to mention that it is a realistic thing and has continued to work throughout the previous periods, and it is difficult to judge. It must succeed or fail, as we still need about 7 years before we reach the first evaluation, and let us remember that it took Apple decades of years to reach the current level.
It is not necessary to reach Satoshi's scenario, but it is something that works and there is continuous development, which is the most important thing.
1235  Other / Meta / Re: Is the first Merit the hardest Merit to get? on: September 20, 2023, 03:00:19 PM
I remember that I was here on the first day of creating the merit system, and it seemed confusing about how to obtain it, but it was easy from the first day, and I think that within about 4 months I was able to collect 150 merits, which was very difficult at that time, and after a week or month from that (~ 5/2018) became a merit source and then Merit became  a something that is not important to me.
I care how people feel about this, but other than wanting to increase your profits, you should stop treating merits as if they are something exciting or worth pursuing after the first 100, and then enjoy creating posts without Merit attention.
1236  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement [Pros and Cons] on: September 20, 2023, 02:47:30 PM
Early retirement does not mean stopping working and living by the beach, but rather that working is a choice and not something obligatory, so that whether you work or not, you will be able to pay all your bills and live the luxury you want, and then you can do what you love and develop yourself. This development includes higher studies, including: A better body, extended relationships, a close family, and traveling around the world are difficult or almost impossible things if you do not have enough money, and then you will be forced to do something that you do not like or spend most of the hours of your day at work.
1237  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Duckdice verification failed on: September 20, 2023, 02:13:52 PM
They have an account here - - - > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=917361 PM them.
They do not have a good reputation here and there are already many complaints, so try to keep your explanation brief and include details of the problem and we hope that it will be resolved. If they do not respond to you within a week, update it here and it may be considered scam and I will add more negative trust.
Good luck.
1238  Other / Meta / Re: Just for curiosity, I wanna know about those things.(Local board>child Board ) on: September 20, 2023, 02:01:33 PM

They certainly won't do that because they are expected to switch to the new Epochtalk forum software and all changes waiting for that moment. I believe that when the transition starts, then new child boards and some new stuff will be added or whatever.
 Roll Eyes
I do not see a relationship between them. In the end, it is more data that is added, and there are some local boards that were created after Epochtalk discussions.

As I mentioned previously, the fact that the Nigerian LB does not have a local mod will limit the possibility of establishing sub-boards. I have been distributing merits to that board over the past two weeks, and the local langauge they use (although it is close to English) but understanding it requires some time. True, you do not need to understand entire post to send merits but you need to it to delete the post.

A summary of what I would like to say is that only admins can create sub-boards and when a request comes from a local mod, the probability of it being approved is higher, and it is difficult to create sub-boards for LBs that do not contain mods.
1239  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If your into crypto you should also attend events if you can here is why on: September 19, 2023, 03:12:26 PM
I follow the news via:

They both offer good filters that enable you to know and track all the news you need and thus get better results.
For technical news, I recommend ----> https://bitcoinops.org, in addition to some specialized YouTube channels[1] that you can customize after listening to them and determining the content that is good for you and the content that you consider to be a waste of time.
Other than that, Google gives you everything you need.

1240  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does monitor size affect trading? on: September 19, 2023, 03:06:04 PM
It is not a larger screen, but rather several screens where you can track several information at the same time. It is more like a map that you need to see from several perspectives to get a better understanding.
this type of trading requires experienced traders and not beginners who are trying to learn how trading can be done.

I also advise you not to be influenced by posts on Twitter, as most of them depict that they have several screens and an elegant office, which indicates that they are doing something dangerous, but the result is the same if you can divide your screen into several screens.
