Monero is still listed in Binance and Kraken (very popular exchanges).

There's also TradeOgre (no KYC needed) if you wanna exchange XMR for BTC or vice versa.

But yeah, I agree that if BTC became like XMR, it would be delisted by many exchanges, which means less trading volume, which means lower price.

It's probably the same reason BTC devs don't want to adopt an ASIC-resistant algo. ASIC mining makes it harder to mine for the average joe, so it becomes more scarce and thus more valuable.

During the CPU/GPU mining era it was a lot cheaper, since you could just do it with a regular PC.

An organized society of 8 billion people easily exists if the highest form of government is the individual family. It's when groups of families start electing higher forms of government that we start to have trouble.

Cool
So you believe that money is not needed at all (including BTC)?

A family ain't gonna produce all the products you need... including the electronic device you're typing your posts from.

What is money? Until a person realizes that money is anything of value (perceived value) that can be traded for something else of value, he has a mistaken view of what money is.

When people focus their idea of money on some particular item - like paper dollars or credit cards - they are opening themselves up to being harmed by those who recognize what money really is, and who set themselves up in positions of controlling cash and cards.

Where is the money exchange between us as we use the computers and this forum? It is in the value of the things that we say in our posts.

If you don't think that your posts are things of value, then why do you post them? But if you think that they have value, recognize that you are trading in money in a simple conversation between members... value for value.

Cool
If you wanna send me some sats for my posts, I won't object. Cool

The value is right in the posts that I return to you.     Cool
What are you doing on this forum if you don't acknowledge BTC to be a valid form of money? Huh

Wink

Money enables, yes. However, in the US and lots of places in Europe, there are women we would call 'sluts'. Most of them are young... late teens and early twenties. But some are quite young... barely into their teens... who do it for the experience. Many of them are hoping for a family later on, and have never been taught about honor, and the honorable way of doing things. Many others are doing it for the self-gratification a young person gets from having a youthful, healthy body, and feeling soooo good with the experience.

It isn't really prostitution. But it might be way worse. If a good and honorable guy or gal wants to find someone who is virgin, how in the world can he figure out if he has one or not? Go with a person for a year without sex. If they are willing to "last" that long, maybe they are for real.

Cool
Even sluts will not fuck every single man they meet on the street. They are selective to a certain degree.

Prostitutes don't get to be selective. They are forced to have sex, since they get money for doing it.

It's a job, just like serving meals in McDonalds. Would you serve an unpleasant person if you didn't get a salary for it? I know I wouldn't.

That was my whole point... it wasn't that hard to figure it out. Wink

Money enables people to do things they would never do otherwise.

An organized society of 8 billion people is impossible to exist without money (any form of money, USD, BTC, whatever).

Small tribes of 150 people? Yeah, those exist in Andaman islands for example. But they're not the majority anymore. We don't live in 50.000 BCE.

I dont know which culture and society supports prostitution
There are more disadvantages than advantages of this profession - and at the end these women has so much psychological and physical problems that they have to leave all this to go to an isolated life.
If money/capitalism didn't exist, would they do it?

Would they have sex with tons of strangers just for fun?

Nobody has answered this...

My answer:

Money enables prostitution to exist. Women would NOT do it for free. They have no benefit to do so.

I want someone to answer this question honestly:

Would there be porn and prostitution WITHOUT money/capitalism?

Would women do it for free?

And no, I don't mean having sex just for fun with men of their preference.

You should first know that prostitution solely involves the solicitation of sexual services for money.
There are male prostitutes as well.
If women or men do it for free, money doesn’t change hands and therefore can’t be regarded as such.
Do you ask questions like this for the fun of it?

I am not in favor of prostitution; I am against it. However...

We could all avoid a lot of interference by government in money affairs if we simply did this. Set up a trust or corporation or LLC to own our money. We ourselves would be the controller or trustee or president. We would have wording in the 'entity' which gave us the ability to transfer the control to someone else. Simply transfer the control to somebody else when we want to buy something.

The artificial entity still has the money; there was no exchange of money for anything. Since the 'entity' is considered to be a person by government, there isn't any personal tax to it for exchanging money. And, there isn't any regulation for doing nothing.

Many rich people use this method all the time to avoid taxation legally. This shows that power is greater than money.

$200 is peanuts, unless you live in Venezuela perhaps...?

I mean, come on, Michael Saylor has billions in stake on BTC and he's cool like ice. Why can't you be the same with only 200 bucks? Seriously, it sounds ridiculous as fuck!

Get over it. Learn to have patience and discipline. It's not gambling (unless you want it to be). Wink

I can imagine CEX transactions getting banned in the future with CBDCs, or perhaps subtracting points from your social credit score. Wink

Bitcoin = terrorist risk/Putin's reserve currency Grin

But I guess it will be possible to do OTC trades... you'll just have to declare you're sending money to a friend or something.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/xssitc/banned_for_life_on_renvironment_for_this_comment/

«Ρε φίλε έχουμε έλλειψη ενέργειας και εσείς κρατάτε τις ΑΠΕ για πάρτη σας να μινάρετε μπιτκόνια;;;

https://www.efsyn.gr/kosmos/eyropi/361337_gia-tin-anagki-energeiakis-enosis-mila-o-sarl-misel

Angry

Βάλτε λέει ΑΠΕ να γίνετε ενεργειακά αυτόνομοι... μα δεν το ξέρετε ότι σε συνθήκες πολέμου (2,5 χρόνια τώρα λένε ότι έχουμε «πόλεμο») το κράτος κατάσχει τα πάντα;

ΥΓ: Ο μεγαλύτερος BTC hodler (MicroStrategy/Saylor) τι θέση έχει περί PoS;
