1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think metaverse have a place in the world on: August 16, 2022, 02:47:51 PM
I think with the past bull run, many metaverse projects became trending but they didn't last when the bear stomped all of them. I'm optimistic in the future and Metaverse is relevant on that growth but I'm sure that not all of the metaverse projects are going to be needed when that time comes.
If they can survive in bear market, they can return in next bull run but not all Metaverse projects are legit. If they are scam projects and developers only want to collect money from their promises, white paper, and run, they will not continue developments in bear market.

I think Metaverse will be another big trend in next years but I don't like it too much. With Metaverse, people will connect more with the Internet that are harmful and negatively affected their mental health. I don't like it. Even the Internet, social media already change our lives. We have less family interactions in real life because of mobile devices and other things on virtual world.

Metaverse will make it worse.
1262  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recovering stolen funds on: August 12, 2022, 02:18:45 PM
Can a stolen funds be recovered from the  scammer by a forensic experts?
Crypto transactions are irreversible so when you lost your fund, you can not get it back.

Chances are when you submit a report to police, government and they help you to find the scammers.
Sometimes you will see white hat hackers stole funds and refund it to projects. I am not sure they are really hack cases or just manipulating ones.
1263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Finally Helped My Friend Invest $50000 Into BITCOIN for Retirement. on: August 12, 2022, 02:07:59 PM
He's rich and willing to spare/invest about $50000 into something that will grow over time ,that is in the long run.
Nice story.

You would be very well in convincing your friend if you are not rich. If you are rich too, it would be easier for you to convince your friend. Usually your friend will have more reasons to believe you if you get rich by your investment in Bitcoin. Real story, real investment, real get rich story, it is more convincing for your friend.
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I started business many days ago. Now it's time to accept Crypto as a payment. on: August 11, 2022, 11:04:17 AM
This topic likely belongs to Service announcements but if you moves it to that board, I think you should add more details of your business service.

If you don't want to add more details of your service, you can move it to Service Discussion. I think two boards are better than the Bitcoin Discussion board.

You mainly accept Bitcoin so you can consider Lightning Network too.
1265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avalanche [AVAX] can really get a famous platform for DeFi, store of value + NFT on: August 08, 2022, 02:40:12 PM
Avax has a great potential but you can go so far with just potential, they need to find a way to attract a ton of projects under their chain. I am not saying there are none, because there are a lot of them in small caps, but look at ethereum, there are literally tokens over a dozen of them in top 100 with ethereum blockchain.
Potential projects with me are in bear market, at bottom price, I consider them as potential ones for my portfolio. I don't care much about how their team will develop new technologies in future. It is not necessary for my decision. I don't speculate what they can achieve in future.

Price falls deep enough and is in accumulation phase that is where I will consider to participate in. I don't wait for their technology upgrades to take profit. Just news or whatever that can bring the price up, I will exit and it is enough for me.

I don't hold it too long and feel headache with it.
1266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What I have learnt about wazirx on: August 07, 2022, 10:44:24 AM
Interesting how CZ has denied any connection with Wazirx. It was funny to read the tweets about this exchange being owned by Binance and then that supposedly Binance is not aware of such a project. And now CZ offers to transfer all funds from one exchange to another. As if all this did not lead to a new market crash, because Wazirx was a big exchange.
Two years ago, I remember that Binance promoted Wazirx a lot and from Binance, you can even have a link to Wazirx exchange. I did not use Wazirx because I already use Binance but many local in that nation would use that exchange more because Binance is a backer.

Lesson from Wazirx case, don't trust any exchange and store all your money there. They can be shut down, they can make a scam exit, they can be hacked and collapsed then are unable to compensate users. Many reasons to cause loss for your capital if you store it on exchanges.
1267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will we see ethereum PoW forks? on: August 07, 2022, 10:11:48 AM
Just prepare for a fork to PoW and PoS. Some exchanges prepare for forks after the Merge including Poloniex exchange.

Poloniex supports & lists Ethereum (ETH) potential hard fork tokens.

The announcement for support is good to keep ETH on their exchanges. If they don't have plan and announce it, users will move their ETH to other exchanges and when it happens, it is hard to see their customers to return.

It is a hook to attract potential new users and keep current users stay on Poloniex.
1268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do whales keep their massive amounts of bitcoin? on: August 05, 2022, 01:40:30 PM
If so, do they keep everything in one wallet or do they split the bitcoin into several different wallets?
They would store their Bitcoin in different wallets and with different wallet types.

It is risky if you use only one wallet brand to store your Bitcoin. Always blackswan event can happen.
It is less risky if you store your Bitcoin in different wallets (with different keys/seeds) with one wallet brand.
It is more less risky if you store your Bitcoin in different wallets with different wallet brand.

So if one brand has issue, you still have Bitcoin in wallets from other brands.
1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good and adequate staking platforms on: July 31, 2022, 02:08:35 PM
Why take risks because of 10-15% per annum with your capital?
And don't use centralized exchanges for that.
I agree.

Storing coins on centralized services is risky and we have risk to lose all money. For services that provide passive income to users, risk would be higher. Because these services have their risk of imbalance between inputs and outputs on their platform finance. If their finance is broken, you will likely lose your money there.

You can end without any compensation from them too if in the end, they go to be bankrupted.

Quote
It is better to buy coins when they are cheap and sell them. Annual profit will be higher and less risk.
It is a good advice and I agree. However, buying altcoins in bear market when it is still finding the bottom is not smart. Altcoins are more vulnerable in bear market.
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins is a good way to keep and save money or not? on: July 31, 2022, 01:43:30 PM
Failure may await a clever speculator in one of the stages of the scheme you have described. By exchanging tokens for stablecoin, it may turn out that the price of stablecoin will collapse, as it has already happened. These are direct losses. It may even turn out that stablecoin will cease to exist, which means that there are very big risks. So far, all known stablecoins are more or less holding up, but many have doubts about their stability and reliability. As a transit token, stablecoin can only be used for a short time.
In theory, stable coins are safer than tokens when you need to store and maintain your portfolio value. It is true only if a stable coin you choose to store your money is strong and does not lose its peg. You are fine if it won't depeg.

To be safest, you must choose fiat currency like USD if you don't want to store your capital in tokens. To maintain value in number, I would prefer in ordinal priority like fiat currency, stable coin then cryptocurrency. With cryptocurrency, I would prefer from Bitcoin to Ethereum, BNB. Tokens are at last orders in my priority.
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fed raises rates, crypto prices rise as a result on: July 30, 2022, 09:26:05 AM
FED raises rate, crypto plummets as a result of it. FED raises rate, crypto consequently increases.

Do you see any logic here? It's not. In fact, there are effects from increase or decrease of rate, of recession, inflation, etc. but most of times, people over react against news and fact. After FED tightened their policies a few months ago, we can imagine that interest rates will increase for a while before it will be stable again.

What we see on the market are instant panic and lag effect of it. When instant emotional effects finish, the same news later will not show any big effect like what we see in the latest FOMC.
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so many Derivative Exchanges are filling for Bankcruptcy ? on: July 30, 2022, 06:02:09 AM
Bad capital management is cause of all bad things.

With bad capital management, any blackswan event will cause a collapse of that company financially. It can be a hack by bad security. It can be an attack like Terra Luna. It can be massive liquidation calls like Celcius, Three Arrows Capital, Voyager etc.

But if you have bad financial, capital management, your company is always at risk of bankruptcy.

In personal view, for your personal account, if you have bad management, you will be at risk of liquidation or lose all money with one failed or scam exit project.
1273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which token should I use for my investment ? on: July 29, 2022, 11:43:01 AM
Can anyone tell me which token should I use for my investment which will give me profit in a short time as I am investing for the first time?
Don't invest if you are not affordable for loss.

Be aware of risk of your investment. About investment risk, tokens have more risks than coins. Because tokens don't have their own blockchains. All transactions are on a blockchain they did not own. So the price of that token will rely on their products and that chain. They can control their products but they can not control that chain.

About risk of coins, Bitcoin has less risk, altcoins have more risks.
1274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Terra Classic scam? on: July 29, 2022, 11:31:16 AM
Whoever told you that luna classic was CZ's idea, I think he was vehemently opposed to making a fork is luna classic. It was the smart idea of Dokwon who took away a lot of money from luna investors and he succeeded in creating a second scam coin.
No, it is not idea of CZ who suggested to avoid a fork to Luna and Luna Classic. He tweeted that he supports the idea to buy back and burn Luna. Buy back and burn creates value, not fork.

His tweet. Later when Do Kwon announced that team chose to fork and published a proposal for vote, CZ tweeted "SML" Shake my head.

Quote
You are one of the brave people investing in luna classic, I wish you good luck with your investment. I hope you have done your research and not invested in someone's advice.
I think it is still good to buy around $0.00006 weeks ago and hold. Just don't use all money you have to invest in Luna Classic and this coin if won't die, will need a lot of time to recover. Invest or trading it but never use leverage with Luna Classic. You don't know what games they will play.
1275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When you check the market after 4 months! on: July 28, 2022, 10:53:38 AM
You will see the market is very good if you look at it after 4 years, 8 years. It helps you to skip all pumps, dumps, crashes, fluctuations, etc. and you will be able to hang out, enjoy your life.

4 months is too short and if these 4 months are in a bearish market, you will likely get negative emotion and maybe do stupid orders that will cause loss.

Market can have minor and major psychological cycles but focusing on major cycles will be better. Like now, we don't have to be headache with what happened in whole of 2017 year. We will consider it the same in 2024 or 2025 when we look back at the market in 2022.
1276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Stolen Bitcoin Be Recovered on: July 28, 2022, 10:50:24 AM
Bitcoin transaction is irreversible. So when your Bitcoin was sent to any address that does not belong to you, you lost it, forever.

You can not recover it, never.

But you can recover your wallet if it was hacked, compromised. It does not make sense if all Bitcoin in that wallet was stolen already. However, with a non custodial wallet, you can do more than just making a transaction. You can sign a message from that wallet (from a public address and a key) and sometimes, you have to do this for business deal.

But because that wallet was compromised, you should abandon it after you can prove your ownership and inform others (trade, business partners) about the situation. After that, you must use a new wallet for storage, signing message and so on.
1277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not use Tether instead of Bitcoin ? on: July 27, 2022, 11:39:40 AM
Tether is a fiat currency from my own observation and my own understanding of cryptocurrency. why bitcoin itself is a decentralized currency which can work or collaborate together with fiat currency. as a cryptocurrency been popularly known as Bitcoin at the heads of other cryptocurrencies can not deal or do without the action or the help of Fiat currency. We all know that Bitcoin have it domination since introduction to the world but that does not mean that it does not work under Fiat currency because fiat use to purchase Bitcoin. So without it Bitcoin can not exist alone.
You should learn what is fiat currency and what is stable coin. They are not the same. CBDC can be a replacement for fiat currency because it is controlled by government and central bank. However, stable coin is not a replacement for fiat currency in aspect of governmental control. Even they can have same value on market but they are different.

The total supply of stable coin should be very smaller than total supply of fiat currency because governments won't allow companies to mint stable coins too much and exceed total supply of fiat currencies.
1278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi’s exit - planned from day 1? on: July 27, 2022, 11:09:13 AM
Satoshi likely did not make an exit plan at start but did make a solid plan to maintain privacy and anonymity. You can be doxed then exit if you want to leave but with Satoshi Nakamoto, nobody can know real identity of Satoshi after many years.

If Satoshi did not seriously care about identity, something would have been leaked in cypherpunk group, in sourcefoge forum or in this forum. In fact nothing was leak that could destroy his privacy and anonymity.
1279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BUSD or USDT? Which stablecoin is safer? on: July 26, 2022, 02:17:24 PM
BUSD and USDT, they are both safely, the most safest amongst many stable coins on the market. List of stablecoins from Coingecko.

They are safest stable coins because they have real fiat currencies in their reserves, to back their pegs.
They are good because they have highest trading volumes.

However, always avoid to put all your eggs in one bag. Don't put all your stable coin into either BUSD or USDT. You should decentralize them to both USDT, BUSD and one or two more stable coins. Avoid algorithm stablecoins that are not safe with their concept and current algorithms.

1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Discussion] Our Successor in Bitcoin Forum on: July 26, 2022, 11:12:55 AM
Because the Bitcoin transaction process is quite easy, everyone only needs to save the address and private key to keep it accessible anytime and anywhere as long as the internet is still around.
It is easy but two ways to make Bitcoin transactions.

From custodial wallets on exchanges for example. You are not the one who broadcast that transaction. The exchange does on behalf of you. They must approve your withdrawal request and broadcast that transaction for you. If they don't approve it, you will not be able to make that transaction because you don't own private key.

From non custodial wallets, you can directly broadcast your transaction without dependence on any third party. You own a private key and can do it by yourself.

Not your keys, not your coins
