I also would expect a purging of the crypto market, maybe no coins will survive. Afterall they are only code, usable well maybe, but for how long.
Are they a hard asset?
And what kind of legislation could be brought in?
As I like to say don't have any money it the crypto world that you aren't prepared to lose overnight and not be bothered with it.
Saying that I like the way cryptos work and what is being created is being done so right now. An interesting kind off history thing.

When the crypto market was empty, the new coins were interesting experimentation. But now, if you look at http://coinmarketcap.com this is time natural selection. The further fate of your coin will depend only on your finances. If you can find the stupid and greedy hamsters who invest in your coin, then supercoin a little stretch. No attempt association will not help. But I have already said about the forecast regarding supercoin ..

I think that crypto market must be cleared of empty and useless coins. Enough to let dust in people's eyes and mindless clone forks. I believe that such coins as super, ultra, mega already doomed. Their developers have enriched themselves and are now looking for ways how to further take from unsuspecting users some more Bitcoins.
Die with dignity ultracoin.

dont be so harsh with them

i wish every coin luck
but we cant take them all with us
u need to find a own captain to keep ur ship moving
Maybe I got a little excited.  But then let them try to unite with urocoin. There's same algorithm a scrypt  Cool

Hi Diamondcoin Devs, cryptonit, popshot, Diamondcoin.

Been with Diamondcoin for quite a while now and things look like there going well again. Thanks to the team for all the efforts.
I hope things keep growing with this coin.

Another coin I follow is Supercoin, and they are after a new developer the original and current developer wants to hand over the coin to another developer who has proven experience. And is willing to hand over the code.

I consider that the developers here for Diamondcoin are very capable people. You have proven to be innovative, and been able to cope with problems that have come up with diamondcoin.
I think this would be a great opportunity for yourselves to take over Supercoin I believe you would move it in a good direction.
I think Supercoin along with Diamondcoin are complimentary for you because of their diversity. Having different coins to fulfill different purposes.

As far as I have seen many were worried that Supercoin was not all that it claimed to be at first.
But over the course of time it has proven to be a very good and stable coin.
It has very fast transfer speed and is a unique anonymous coin.

Supercoins technology works very well as it is. It forms a good base to build on to be used for real world use.
I think that developing both coins would create great cross promotional and marketing possibilities, creating a wider marketing base that will help create much more interest in both Diamond and Supercoin.

What do you guys think?

I think that crypto market must be cleared of empty and useless coins. Enough to let dust in people's eyes and mindless clone forks. I believe that such coins as super, ultra, mega already doomed. Their developers have enriched themselves and are now looking for ways how to further take from unsuspecting users some more Bitcoins.
Die with dignity ultracoin.

How is coino? Information about coin online http://www.coinwarz.com never appeared. Look, the developers decided to dive back into the mire.
Look what made new developers http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/all/ I hardly found mention of coino

If he's going to let it expire he needs to give it over to someone who will keep it going forever. I can volunteer for that. What about the webhosting, what's the deal there?

it was actually my bad me thinks... anyways got some hosting sorted and a couple of additional domains! Just give us a week or 3 to get the block explorer fixed..

I was just offering since hosting and DNS is super cheap, especially if it's longterm, and it's pretty unprofessional to have it just tank/disappear. It also can open  up security issues.
if you check the free domain names, you'll see that starcoin.info and starcoin.com already occupied. But there are other options. For example bit.starcoin or similar. The question is how much serious  the new organizer about of the project. Or again they want to organize a pump and dump?
I can give you the example of a project Diamond. See how professional these guys revived coin.

I do not think that the system bitshare (protusahare) will live 30 years. They write that they have no premaine. But I remember how this coin appeared on the site coinmarketcap.com with inflated capitalization of 5 million and created the blank coins. They produce dust in the eyes people mind plunging into intricate explanations of questionable technology.  Cool

In the modern world Crypto currency too many dirty players. they are ready for anything that would make the money selling air. (Nxt, ripple, PTS) A good example for this. Their creators are experienced puppeteers dreamed of the own island and ready for anything that would pull money of unsuspecting users Bitcoins ..
Good that Diamonds are free of this and Pow + Pos system is still the best solution for future success.

i don't know what drive the price rising, not many coins on exchanges, people are holding coins and playing the POS game?

Pow + Pos today wisest system. It allows you to avoid unnecessary speculation and is able to attract the attention of everyone. You go to the bank and put the money on deposit for a while, hoping to make a profit. But there is no guarantee that the bank may change the terms or just put a portion of your earnings in his pocket. In crypto currency, all coins are yours. And no one will climb into your pocket.
Why constantly jumping price on most coins? People try to make the money creating a speculative wave. For payment services and shops is a big problem. System Pow + Pos allow to rethink the approach. In fact, such a system is the crypto asset. And allows the owner to earn revenue from their coins. But the system will only work if it is carefully designed. Developers well well analyzed coin. Fast convenient and reliable in security. It is not like in the case of infinitely and slowly PPC and NVC (coins in the system can be several billions). Among other coins is the best choice.

I appreciate your concern.. Smiley Did you have something constructive to add?
Hm..
Everything will depend on whether what really can be done in the current situation  Cool
On this coin long since no one paid attention, and suddenly this activity.
It is a bit strange.
References to the wallet http://starcoin.info/Starcoin.zip and the site www.starcoin.info has long been disabled. Can you say why?
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: STAR COIN [STR] - The coin with bonus STAR blocks on: October 29, 2014, 01:51:49 AM
Considering that today several times were falling power network to 30 mh\s?
some little a  Asic miners and will again fork. The helps only the lack of attention to starcoin from major miners.
But I hope that those who want to announce the loud of start, already prepared for this...

I'm struggling to understand what you are trying to say?
You want to resurrect this coin?

If so, I hope that you are well prepared for this.
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: STAR COIN [STR] - The coin with bonus STAR blocks on: October 29, 2014, 01:01:02 AM
just look at the site http://www.coinwarz.com/ to assess the situation with starcoin. And you understand why no one answers.

At position 24.. Doesn't look too bad considering until the strip miners come on board that is..

I have another question ! Can anyone explain me in more detail what is DMD cloudmining ? Also, I am surprised about something: once I minted for the first time, my wallet got a transaction of some DMD coming in, thus making minting impossible for 7 days because the new coins were not mature... Apparently, older coins cannot just keep minting... All coins must be mature... So if I receive a transaction, I must wait 7days again. Am I right ?

If I could have a detailed answer for my first question and a simple one for the second, it would be great  Grin ! Thx!  Smiley
If you send a coin out of his wallet to any address, then you have to wait 7 days before you can receive dividends (Mining mode Pos) This is true, since the sale of your coins for a while depriving you of income.
This can be compared with the of short-term deposits in the bank. If you take your contribution earlier than the allotted time, you lose all interest thereon.
7 days is not such a long time, but it was able to many think carefully about the meaning of the sale of their coins and prevent pump and dump situation which exposed most popular Pow coins.
Pos system is an excellent mechanism prevents strong wave fluctuations in value and brings its owner a long and steady income.

Incoming transactions should not affect the mode of coinage  Pos. Spoil the process of coinage can only outbound transaction

Hi all,

So work has been nightmarish, we've had some things in the works (new website/new block explorer, support forum/bug tracker, but wait there is still more) for the best part of the year and were finally getting close to getting them online..

I want to make sure everyone is running okay before we get many more clients online...  sooo....

Is everyone syncing up fine, are your checkpoints alright?

Is anyone getting error messages?

Anyone having other problems with the network?

To help get everything resolved quickly please reply to this post with your issues, including a copy of your .conf file, the results of "getinfo", "getcheckpoint" and "getblockcount"..

Thanks all for your help,

cheers,

infin.

Hi,

- Make sure you're using the correct miner: http://sourceforge.net/projects/diamonddmd/files/sgminer_diamond_v4.1.0.zip/download

- Use the example configuration to guide you, launch your miner like this:
sgminer.exe -k diamond -o stratum+tcp://dmd.miningfield.com:3389 -u Weblogin.WorkerName -p WorkerPassword --difficulty-multiplier 0.0039062500

s. http://www.miningfield.com
t. https://www.twitter.com/miningfield
f. https://www.facebook.com/miningfield
DMD Pool. http://dmd.miningfield.com
Thank you, I successfully solved my problem.

you must use the correct cgminer,it is not groestl-coin miner, nor myraid-groestl miner,it is dmd-grs miner.
I use sgminer 4.1.0 Once again I will say that in the extraction mode solo with cards 7990 I have no problems.

I can assume that it is a parameter
Code:
--difficulty-multiplier 0.0039062500
all other settings are identical.

Hi.
Can anyone explain why the video card 7990 with settings on http://dmd.miningfield.com give reject?

7970 Video Card to work normally.

In production mode solo, no such problems

Ok, being a fresh investor in DMD, I just got my wallet working, bought my coins on cryptsy and I am quite excited ! But there is one question I hope you can answer.

What is your marketing plan ? I realised that DMD seems quite unknown compared to an altcoin like dogecoin. It is true their market cap is in Millions while we are still in Ks, but they did get there somehow, didn't they ?

I see the great work of the dev team on this coin, and I hope the community can keep building up.
I also saw you made an alliance with Noblecoin. That looks great! But what is the greater picture, what is the roadmap you are proposing on PR ?

I do not want to look like the arrogant newbie who comes with his prententious ideas and asks the dev team: why am I not yet a millionaire ?

Believe me, my goal is not just to ask questions about greater plans : I hope I can help by creating a blog and talking around me about DMD (which I am doing), but I would like to know, out of simple curiosity, wether or not you are preparing some kind of key DMD PR campaign such as Dogecoin did with its dogecoin funding for sportive and humanitarian causes (althoug DMD is more of a wealth storage coin and is therefore less suited for this kind of PR campaigns, I do believe it deserves more attention ; and I believe that we, the community and the dev team, can work together towards this goal. But the master minds of DMD are of course the devs, this is why I address my question to you  Wink)

First of all congratulations on making the first step in the right direction (investing in Diamond).

Cryptonit talked about some of the issues and I’d like to touch on the others.

I think comparing Doge and Diamond is a bit like comparing apples to oranges.
Even though, there are similarities in both, as they can act as payment systems, but it’s where tit all ends. Both coins have different philosophies and rollout models.

Doge from the very start was regarded (by majority) as a joke; its image was built around meme of the year and the name itself couldn’t have be taken seriously. Dogecoin creators were very smart in that regard as they capitalised on a very fresh and popular readymade image that took the scene (and beyond) by storm. It was funny, it was silly, it went in tens of billions of coins  (and who wouldn’t want to be a millionaire). The collective effort of those who we ‘in the joke’ by creating funny promo materials and spreading the word on myriad social networks added a lot of (entertaining) value. Sheer amount of coins made it extra easy to build volume and push it to many exchanges. Speculators with their trading bots loved it, exchanges loved it, the crowds loved it..
From technical point of view … Doge was just another scrypt clone.

Diamond on the contrary, could not be any different. At first Diamond was also based on Litecoins scrypt (as there was no need for any alternative) with some addition from Peer, Lucky and Florin coins. The mechanics behind it was pretty much unique, very slow rollout with 1 Diamond per block. This on its own made it at first almost a collectors coin and pretty much guaranteed very slow adoption rate. Speculators hated it (no potential for abuse), multipools hated it (low reward and 1 block diff retarget) , exchanges hated it (low volume), the crowds .. well those who knew what it was about and the potential it held, loved it. It was the fairest coin out there. Diamond has always been targeting different audience, people who wished to invest in rare, stable and secure form of currency. This has been our mission from day one to provide just that.

Our immediate plan is to create a family of Groestl algorithm coins in order to strengthen the network; Conversion of Noble is the first step – this will allow us to merge mine. Joining forces with other communities allows for cross promotion which does wonders. Noble and Diamond share the same ethical principles which will make it that much easier to go on with the other joint projects in the future. Your suggestion of utilising cryptocurrency technology “for sportive and humanitarian causes” is definitely something we will look into – Noble has great experience in that which we would be happy to learn from.

In terms of PR we cannot count on free ride ticket just as Doge had. We rely on our members hard work of spreading the news; altcoin press in spotting us; rare giveaways  and our own contracts in this industry. We believe in delivering the robust and consistent service that would ensure value stability of our investors. I think by building trust we can achieve way more in the long run than by creating hype. Of course, once we achieve higher market capitalisation we will be able to effectively use Foundation’s funds for some fully fledged PR campaigns.
In the mean time we have delivered Cloud Mining project as a part of our value stabilisation mechanism  which acts like an investment opportunity, promotion (we are now worth mining) and general coin support.

So as you can see we take one step at time in the right direction just like you did by investing in Diamond Smiley

I’m glad you’re on board with us.

Good said. I might add that the Diamond coin ideal for the serious and long-term investment. Its potential is very high, because the market is now missing like Diamond coins. The development team has repeatedly showed that it is able to cope with any problems and it is worthy of respect.
Price of the coin is now still  low. Storage Diamonds in a wallet unlike any garbage Doge, brings its owner a steady income. Each 1000 coins brings a week 10 coins wallet while running (production mode Pos)
It's a good reward, but in the future it will decrease. Unlike coins PPC and NVC The Diamond will be only 4.3 million coins. And this is the main value

Net Hashrate 14,255.56 MH/s wow
i have about 3G
dmdpool had 3.8G few hours ago ,now  it is 3.4G
miningfield 200M
i don't know other pools, seems there is a 7G giant in the dark side
The difficulty varies greatly. It seems to me, that someone special checks  strength trying to create a 51% attack on the Diamond

Difficulty close to 250, that is a quite steep rise. Could that be some kind of Diff. Pump?

Maybe someone has already done Asic chips for the Groestl algorithm?
1280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, 50% POS Active on: October 20, 2014, 12:09:48 PM
why we want to keep the price low ? Higher is better surely ?

dont understand me wrong we want price to raise and DMD Diamond at the value it deserve is far far away

BUT high price without being backup of strong filled orderbook on buy side
is leading to pump and dump

diamond did always promote stability as one of its features
and stability is the enemy of pump&dump

so we have to avoid to raise faster as the buyorders follow to build up

I also do not understand, why buy directly at the market price, when you can create an order to buy and safely buy diamonds on a few points cheaper.
Some miners constantly provide an influx of new diamonds for sale and sell them through auto sales any course. Thus, everyone has a chance to quietly buy yourself some Diamonds

Remember, that every 1000 diamond , will bring you every week 10 new coins (equity income mode Pos). This is a very nice bonus, unlike other coins that do not generate any income for their owners.
