1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we are greedy on: May 21, 2017, 05:35:45 AM
i don't remember any deposit fee in any exchange, i only use kraken at the moment and there is no, to withdrawal tehe fee is also very low, both in bitcoin and in sepa, in sepa is ridiculous non-existent like $0.09

what exchange you are talking about exactly with this high fee?
1282  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 100,000 USD Do you think it will ever happen? on: May 20, 2017, 06:45:50 AM
first target is $10k, when you reach that reaching $100k would be like reaching $10000 from 1k, like we were some time ago and now we moved to 2k

if the story repeat itselft, this what will happen in the case of 100k we will probably move to 20k first and so on, i believe it need two more halving at least, or in 2028, 20 years from the beginning like the satoshi prediction about no volume or big volume....
1283  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would you do if Bitcoin price crashes? on: May 20, 2017, 06:43:00 AM
nothing really, i would wait and see until it recover, it always recover in the end, no matter the entity of the crash, cheap bitcoin make always people tempted to buy more

remember that investors are here for profit anything that give them the possibility to buy back cheap coin to sell them later at higher price is welcome
1284  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S7 now officially obsolete? on: May 20, 2017, 05:51:24 AM
"Free" electricity isn't always stealing. Most notably apartments with electricity included, although a S7 is on the noisy side to run in an apartment. You do, of course, pay a premium over apartments without electricity included.

that isn't free it's "included" you know, real free electricity is always stealing, but there are case when you can have almost free electricity like 1 cent, that is the cheapest electricity you can have withotu stealing

Did you take into account transaction fee's? Should bump your daily profit up a bit

Used coinwarz. Even factoring 20% transaction fees, the difficulty bumps make it near impossible to ROI spending more than $100-200 to acquire. Still need power supply too.

Probably good for someone this coming winter to heat the house at break even.

the s7 is too old no matter at what price you can get it, it's always better to go witht he last gen , they can compete better, even the s9 will be obsolete if they don't release a new one in two years...
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 20, 2017, 05:45:34 AM
I sent btc to my posw wallet 5 days ago and still pending from blockchain.info ... paid extra miner fees when it warned me it would be slow if I didn't with a popup message, I figured 24 hours but 5 days?

it is what it is ... cryptoland   Shocked

same stuff, i sent 0.04 almost 4 days ago and still unconfirmed, but iused on purpose a lower fee less than 1/3 to see how much it would take on average to confirm a lower fee transaction, but i think it's random

i was hoping to use the accelerator but it's full, there is no way now to get the money back and send them again with proper fee, still waiting for them to implement replace by fee feature directly in core(and not with the patch...), so we can at least correct fee..
1286  Other / Off-topic / Re: is worth to buy bitcoins? on: May 20, 2017, 05:35:59 AM
bitcoin price is high, so i think i'll wait, but if you buy bitcoin with high price there is a possibility that the price will go up more! Smiley

there is no such thign as the "value is to high to buy" you can decide to buy whatever amount please you, you can only afford $100? ok buy $100 worth of bitcoin

it doesn't matter if bitcoin is at $1k or $10k, i know that newbie feel good when they can buy a whole bitcoin, but that is not possible anymore

if we want bitcoin to be adopted everyone in the end will have the possibility to own a fraction of one bitcoin
1287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: May 20, 2017, 05:33:41 AM
I do not consider gold to be money.  You can't go and buy most goods and services with gold.  Gold is a commodity, dollars are money. Bitcoin is a virtual currency.  It has more in common with paypal than it does with dollars or with gold.  I wouldn't really call it money until it is more widely accepted as payment for goods and services.

it doesn't make sense what you say, bitcoin have nothing to do with paypal, paypal is a trusted tthird party that function as an escrow basically, bitcoin is an untrusted payment system

if you want an example how it would look to have paypal in the bitcoin world, bitcoin is the money paypal is the escrow, bitcoin is no different than electronic cash, i would compare to that, "virtual curreny" is just that...

it's not clear, this thing mine only x11 or the other surrogate X algorithm? if not the a giant still have an edge on this
1289  Economy / Marketplace / Re: how earn btc from online??? on: May 19, 2017, 06:43:45 AM
without wasting much time i can easily tell you the most profitable and these are signature campaign and mining

signature campaign is the best if you can invest anythign and have a good amount of time, but the return is low compared to mining

mining is good if you have a capital to invest, you can get a decent 0.015 per day with a rig of 6 x 1070, without doing anything

this is an advantage over signature where you need to search for the good thread to post

Mining is expensive and the returns are nearly always worse than just buying btc off an exchange. Other than that I agree signature campaigns pay well but only if you have a very old account like you have, not really something for a newbie.

this is wrong, it never make sense to buy bitcoin(unless you can't have your rig for whatever reason like power little space etc...) if mining is profitable, i tell you why and should be easy to understand

if i can generate 0.02 btc with one rig at the cost of $100 a month of electricity, i'm effectively exchanging $100 with 0.6 btc(0.02 x 30 days), therefore i'm paying one bitcoin a lot less than what you do on the market

without wasting much time i can easily tell you the most profitable and these are signature campaign and mining

Is this 0.015BTC per day for real? Do you mind sharing which alt coin could yield such profit with 6x1070 per day? I might actually look into mining more seriously for once.

yes it is, even on whattomine which is under everyone eye you cna get 0.0125 per rig, with other coin that use skein for example you get more
1290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Selling at $2000,- /btc? on: May 19, 2017, 06:41:10 AM
i never sell bitcoin no matter the value, unless i really need to sell because i can't pay my debt with bitcoin but i need fiat money, that is the only case to sell bitcoin

in any other case i use them like a currency, why can people use more bitcoin as a currency instead of wasting fee by sending on exchange and creating an order which cost other fee plus the fee to make a sepa? no-sense
1291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what point will the backlog of unconfirmed transaction affect BTC price? on: May 19, 2017, 05:53:30 AM
if the price is determined by whales and rich people who only trde on the exchange i don't see the fee doing anything, they are ignoring it at the moment

but the value can't increase only because of those people, all the other people that are not tech savy and want to go with bitcoin will likely refuse toi pay that fee, and therefore you are losing a potential value increase right now

what i mean is that right now with a 2MB limit with segwit for example you would have in all likelihood, a higher value
1292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it a Bubble? on: May 19, 2017, 05:42:16 AM
i'm on the fence, but it's not a real bubble, with the current premise a real bubble would shot much higher than this, i see it as a natural grow because of the adoption reason that are proceed greatly

but no one know for sure, the bottom before this increase was around $1300, even if this si a bubble i can't see the value returning below $1500 anymore
1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: May 18, 2017, 03:00:31 PM
he was earning more than 5 btc daily, if we assume that he was doing 2% from all the emission of zcash,

NVIDIA is only 10% of the world hashrate. Most farms use AMD.  Perhaps he was doing 0.5BTC per day

not on zcash, zcash is full of nvidia not amd, amd is pointed at ETH and monero
1294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: May 18, 2017, 10:38:26 AM
flypool.org. I don't run with the --fee 0 option. The -fee 0 is supposed to be slower than the build in 2% fee.

not in my test 0.3.3b with --fee 0 is the fastest for me....  if you don't use --fee 0 then yes ewbf has a default fee of 2% in 0.3.3b he introduced the --fee option to give users the choice of donating or not ...
running with default 2%fee and --fee 0 yields exactly the same sol's there is no speed decrease for not donating he is simply a TRUE amazing Dev who had already made enough from the 2% fee option in all his previous version's so now he gives user's the option many people still use a fee because his code is worth it..

i dont use flypool.org i use mph for zcash...

he was earning more than 5 btc daily, if we assume that he was doing 2% from all the emission of zcash, which is 288 btc per day, even if not all the hash on zcash was using his miner there are other equihash coin that were using it probably

now this is 150 a month for 6 months, since the release of his miner, that is almost 1000 btc...yes he has enough money, i'm glad that is not greedy and did the no fee option, at this point i see no reason for him to leave the miner private he should release the code
1295  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain releasing discounted S/T9's.... gearing up for new products? on: May 18, 2017, 09:48:02 AM
it make sense, the s9 is not that good anymore at efficiency, but they can't push the nano processing work faster than intel nvidia and amd, i mean intel is still sitting at 14nm and before they go to 10nm there is still a certain time frame to wait

this time frame is with the launch of cannonlake which expected to be at 10nm, therefore is not inconclusive to think that bitmain is not that far away to launch a 10 nm antminer, maybe next year?
1296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are paying miners $5000, undeservedly on: May 18, 2017, 09:43:19 AM
you two are a bit off topic here because this topic is all about today, May of 2017 when block reward is 12.5BTC not some far away future when block reward is very small like 0 for example and miners need fees to compensate for their costs.

it doesn't matter the principle is the same, my point was that slowly the fee paid is replacing the total reward for miners, day by day while one is reducing the other is increasing

the problem is that the process is not happening "slowly"!
part of the reason for existence of the block reward + fees is to compensate for the job miners are doing. for them to pay the costs, like electricity bill, equipment, maintenance, labor, ... and they pay this in fiat (lets use USD for easy calculation) and right now they are getting paid ~$22000 + $5000 which is a lot more than they really deserve at this point.

in the past fee was a lot higher than this in BTC because price was low (for example fee was 0.01BTC at some point) then price went up and 0.01BTC became more expensive so the fee was reduced. and this has happened a couple of times.
but these days since blocks are full and fee is used as a way for competition nobody is talking about current fees needs adjusting because of price. and it can't until block size issue is resolved.

if you put it in this way you see that miners are still earning way less than before

before the halving they were earning 3600 coins per day which at current value would be far more than now, now they are earning a mere 1800 coins per day plus 300 btc from fee, a total of 2100 coins or so per day

this value is still no where near the old 3600 coins per day, if miners need to maintain the same profit in bitcoin(not in fiat), they are on a good boat now to do so
1297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fees are crazy, 420 satoshis/byte, WHY? on: May 18, 2017, 09:39:29 AM
because there are simply people that don't that you poor guy want the fee to be 100 satoshi bytes, they are willing to pay more just to get their transaction solved in seconds

then you have another one who is willign to pay even more to have an edge on those other people and so on, there is simply competition like there is mining or anything in this world

this competition isn't healthy for adoption, because average joe will simply stay away if he is obliged to $1.7 to send $1..but until the block limit is solved you are beating a dead horse
1298  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin die soon? on: May 18, 2017, 09:32:14 AM
again you "raised miner fee" don't mean anything, you are probably still paying under the average, which is far higher now

I am going on 8 days now. Welcome to the club.

seems strange your transaction should be rejected and return under your contorl in 72 hours, you can't remain with an unconfirmed transaction for 8 days
1299  Economy / Economics / Re: What would benefit bitcoin more? on: May 17, 2017, 05:02:29 PM
poor country would benefit more from bitcoin, since bitcoin allow wealth to be moved easily from one country to another and it make other country helping each other

you can easily see that poor countries might have a boost in their economy, africa is embrancing bitcoin because of this reason

another thing would be gaming industry, like betting or those huge tournement that big game like dota or starcraft 2 hold every year
