The early days of the internet were plagued with viruses and scams, yet email and the World Wide Web did not get banned. Similarly the embrace of crypto technology is equally inevitable.

Hilarious! So, you're trying to say that internet is not plagued by viruses and scams right now? Haha... in fact, the more advanced a technology is, the more complicated the scams get.  Grin

https://cointelegraph.com/news/lastpass-data-breach-led-to-53k-in-bitcoin-stolen-lawsuit-alleges

This is only reported , the exact damage can be much more than this. If I am right, their security has been breached a number of times in the past as well. One more lesson from this incident is that we should not trust every third party tool especially if we deal with crypto. These tools might lack our data in future resulting in financial crypto loss.

This is not even worth mentioning! $53k was less than one Bitcoin at the moment theft happened. People are losing more funds daily in even more trivial hacks and scams. Wasn't worth to create a separate thread for a nothingburger like that.  Cool

HAPPY NEW YEAR FELLOW WOers!

I'm not sure if the worst of this bear market is behind us, perhaps it's not and we're going to have a bottom in Q1 2023 but I'm sure the price of BTC in a year will be higher than it is today! I wish you all some patience (to HODL) and good health (to be able to reap the benefits of your HODLing)! See you at the $100k party (if someone here still remembers such thing).  Grin

1347  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any Casino Android software on: December 30, 2022, 12:18:03 AM
Is there any gambling/casino website that owns a android application? I noticed that all gambling websites are good for PC/Computers but not phones, I believe an android application will be flawless and way easier to access..

I'm using my mobile browser like for any other website. I don't have a terabytes of storage on my phone so downloading an app for every casino isn't very reasonable I guess...  apps are really annoying with gigabytes of cached data in storage, pesky notifications etc...  Tongue
1348  Economy / Gambling / Re: chinese bookmakers with tf gaming platform NO KYC on: December 29, 2022, 10:44:08 PM
maybe someone knows such bookmakers as https://www.zhb77.com/ or btc365.com (5 month ago) who have tf gaming or other chinese platform without KYC

would be very grateful if you could share these

https://www.zhb77.com/ looks down from here. btc365.com seems to be run by a Bulgarian company with a license from Montenegro. I wasn't able to find any connection with China. Your main requirement for it is to be Chinese or without KYC?

How in the world did SBF decide that gambling was the best course of action for recovering the funds? It seems to me that he has terrible friends around him.  Have you ever thought of gambling as way to recover your funds and pay your debts? Does this look like a case of compulsive gambling?

Holy moly, when I thought he can't make things worse it turns out he can! And I don't believe in his noble attempt to recover lost funds for the customers! It seems he's a gambling addict. $100m oh my god! That's a boatload of money!  Tongue
1350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Go-to casino on: December 29, 2022, 08:13:00 AM
I have no casino of choice, I prefer to explore and discover new places to gamble. I mostly play slots and card games. It doesn't matter where you gamble, you have to gamble responsibly. Remember the golden rule: never gamble with money you can't afford to lose.  Cool
1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: December 29, 2022, 07:44:05 AM
I do not know about you guys, but I gamble because I like it and because it is a hobby as well as an addiction. I'm good with myself, as I already admitted to having an addiction but tried to find and apply techniques to avoid getting off track and spending all of my money on gambling. It's quite easy for me to control my gambling anxiety as I already follow strict rules that help me stay on the line.

What about you guys? Do you have any addiction to gambling? What drives you to gamble? Is it the long shot of having a big profit coming in or is gambling simply a way of spending time for you?

It's just a way to have some fun and spend some extra $$$. Definitely not an addiction. I guess more people consider gambling as a chance to get rich? Such approach can get you into some serious trouble. That's like going all in on a shitcoin haha  Grin
1352  Economy / Gambling / Re: Kryptosino Avoid!!! on: December 29, 2022, 07:34:43 AM
This Casino is knowingly breaching AML Regulations by not performing Customer Due Diligence checks.  The limit for checks to be performed on wagering match that of the KYC limit which is around $2500.  Neither are being performed with over 10 customers and god knows how many more.  An investigation will be opening soon with the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force.  If the Curaçao Gaming Control  Board get a whiff of this then bye bye Licence and sister Casinos.

Looks like some weird disguised ad to me. Like negative publicity still publicity sort of stuff. How much do they pay you? I mean, no reference, no link, how can you prove it actually happened?  Shocked
1353  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: withdrawing bitcoin - newbie - advice welcome on: December 28, 2022, 11:24:40 PM
Advice welcome from anyone in the know.

I have no clue about bitcoin  / wallets  / transferring bitcoin into real cash into my bank account.

But - the reason i want to know is because i have a couple hundred pounds at best in a online casino, played a few slots and won a few quid, but i cannot withdraw the monies despite depositing via Mastercard, I have to withdraw using Bitcoin. It was a bit of fun really, and didnt expect any winnings, so the fact i have some is a bonus.

So - I would like the monies, but I'm not really into the whole bitcoin way of things / long term.  I have looked at some advice on youtube etc..bit lost.

Create a wallet etc  /  or use paypal? ( i dont even have paypal )

All i want to do, a one-off really, is login to the casino and request withdrawal via bitcoin, then, get the bitcoin into my own bank account ( as real money  / i have no intention of saving it or using it for later / just want the cash really ).

So....can anyone advise?  I dont really want to pay charges etc...if i have too..so long as nothing hidden away, a couple of quid for the privledge of transferring etc...

Thoughts more than welcome.

Thanks for any advice given.

It depends on what you're planning to do with your coins. If you're planning to HODL and keep it for at least several years - go the software wallet way (described above, Electrum is a solid wallet). If you'd like to spend it on Xmas presents (haha) you could just create an account on any reputable crypto exchange (like kh... kh... Binance kh.. I know I will receive a bashing for this from other posters) then order their debit card or just sell and withdraw to your account/card.  Cool
1354  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is mining Profitable in 2022? on: December 28, 2022, 11:13:09 PM
Biggest issues for miners in 2022 were:

* electricity prices, energy crisis (in some countries up from ~$10c/kwh to whopping 30c/kwh so x3 in less than a year!)
* crypto winter, prices going down
* ETH moving from POW to POS
* supply chain disruptions after Covid19 (new wave starting in China?)

So, I guess miners shouldn't feel overly happy about 2022...  Huh
1355  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. National Debt Ceiling on: December 28, 2022, 10:53:23 PM
Everybody and his dog understands that this debt is not serviceable, won't be paid off ever. But no one can do anything about it as long as the US own the dollar. They don't seem to give a sh*t about it. Money printer goes brrr...  Cool
1356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: waiting to buy lower? on: December 27, 2022, 10:21:42 PM
People are waiting to buy lower, but what if you're wrong and this is the bottom?

You never know what's going to happen next.

But why? There are several factors worth mentioning:
* historic patterns, 4 years cycles - people are comparing this cycle to the previous ones and the bottom should be reached in Q1 2023 (February-March?) according to that pattern. I wouldn't rely on that as the pattern has changed significantly - we had no exponential blow-off top: just x3 instead the x20- x30 we got used to. We also broke the tradition of not going below the previous cycle's ATH (dive under ~$19k we reached back in 2017).

* macroeconomic situation - war, post-covid issues, energy prices growing, hyperinflation, recession. You can't rely on this, because people may look for a safe heaven with all these stocks meltdowns, money losing value etc. They may consider Bitcoin to be such a safe heaven asset?

* overall bearish mood between traders - this one is hard to explain, sort of a collective brain. Noone is buying I won't too.  Cool
1357  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: December 27, 2022, 09:55:33 PM
Iran has started supplying its drones to Russia and has been punished by the great riots that continue to this day and threaten to overthrow their government.
It's funny that a small scale protest in Iran that barely reached 50 in participant count and both started and ended months ago is referred to as "overthrowing the government" meanwhile the much bigger scale ongoing protests elsewhere like the 100k protests every week in Germany, the riots and strikes in UK and the chaos in France that looks more like civil war are not even seen Cheesy
It is absurd to think that the protests in Iran can lead to the overthrow of the regime so easily. It is also absurd to think that Western countries support these protests because Iran has provided Russia with drone fighters.
But at the same time, it cannot be denied that Iran is witnessing an unprecedented wave of protests, which was confirmed by the Iranian authorities themselves when they announced some time ago measures to review the law on wearing the veil for women after a decision to abolish the morality police.
On the other hand, supplying Russia with drone fighters does not mean that Russia and Iran are on the same front against Western countries, because Russia does not support Iran in its nuclear program.

In fact, in any country, where the pro-Russian government or president comes to power, a pro-US/western opposition appears all of a sudden: Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Iran, Venezuela, some African countries. You support Russia - coup attempt is guaranteed. It's pretty obvious who is sponsoring this (remember Maidan cookies???). I just keep wondering how stupid Russians are and how poorly they intelligence works to allow all that to happen in the neighboring countries! Something is brewing right now in Kazakhstan, Armenia etc so I won't be surprised if we'll get another conflict involving Russia soonish... Cool
1358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was Bitcoin project a failure after all ? on: December 27, 2022, 06:20:25 PM
12 years is too short of a period - take a look at other inventions - radio, TV, internet, cars, planes whatever... most of them (if not all) had a longer mass adoption time. Therefore it's too early to judge if Bitcoin is a failure and if it has or has not reached the goals set by Satoshi. So, gentlemen, we're still early...  Cool
1359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My dream has become a reality on: December 26, 2022, 10:16:11 PM
I have always dreamed of accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment since the year 2017 even before I became a master in my money-making haven ( fashion designer ) and now the time has finally come, today I start accepting Bitcoin payments. Yippy 💥💥💥

Truthfully only three of my customers are willing to pay me in Bitcoin for now and that's because I was even the one that teach them about Bitcoin since last year 2021 and now they are also investors too. I believe that as time goes on many will develop an interest as well.

There are too many people that don't know anything about Bitcoin here, few who knew about it call it a scam, I blame that on lack of knowledge but some are willing to listen and learn, I will keep doing what I do best.

Bitcoin adoption all the way, 2023 should be better, hopefully, I want to use this opportunity to say a big Thank You 🙇 to families on here, your share of knowledge reshaped me,  I wish you guys a Merry Xmas 🎄 and a Happy New Year in Advance.

Congrats, man! You're the reason global BTC adoption is growing! Keep up the good work and good luck with your venture! Well-deserved merit!

BTW, which country are you from? Do you also accept LN payments?
1360  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Non-KYC BTC to fiat process on: December 26, 2022, 10:09:04 PM
First, would be nice to know where in EUR you're residing as local laws in many EU countries may differ. In many (most) countries there's a maximum non-taxable amount of around 40k EUR. I believe your bills will be smaller than that amount?

You could use a crypto debit card (Binance, Coinbase, Wirex etc.) or p2p local exchange to withdraw and then there are ATM where you can deposit funds to your account with no questions asked. If you keep the amounts reasonable, that won't be a red flag for your bank.
