It seems to me that this man's behavior cannot be justified, no matter what nation or creed he may belong to. You can't blame his environment for his gambling addiction to this extent. We make the world around us, and if he wanted to, he was not surrounded by gambling, but by walking in the park with his granddaughter. He chose to gamble and brought himself to what I would call an inadequate state.

Try to keep an eye on your relatives because such stories can happen to anyone.

In my opinion, before we continue this conversation, we need to clearly understand that investing is a way to make money (sometimes very risky) and gambling is entertainment. I would advise against making the wrong associations in your head, as some do, and not trying to get rich in a casino, as it depends on luck, not desire, amount of money or free time.

1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losses In Gambling That Still Haunts You Until This Day on: May 03, 2023, 06:41:04 PM
I don't feel haunted by my losses. But I still remember some crazy red streaks on roulette (22 times without red, I didn't have balance for the next bet), crazy sports parlays where I got busted for one game or one goal, to not mention dices and limbo, and I guess slots are also a special category! But all that doesn't matter, I tested my luck with the money I had and I lost... unlucky day or night. Those who gamble for real know that we are in constant up & down mode, and we had many lucky and unlucky sessions in the past, but because we like to gamble we will try it again... and I am sure that we are aware of our chances! Smiley

I will try some slots later... last night I wasn't so lucky, so maybe tonight will be my night!

You can feel in your words that you do not lose hope of winning. In my opinion this is the right approach, because a black streak is always followed by a white one and we will all be very lucky someday.

As for my past losses, by and large I have long since accepted that I lost a lot of money in gambling. One thing that makes me happy is that I gained experience, which I still use to this day. No one knows what happened to that money in another case, but I think it would have been gone as well.
1345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: May 03, 2023, 06:27:04 PM
Slots can be very addictive to anybody, learn to always control yourself first and have a daily number of turning you plan to do, if you lose money do not continue for that day, try another day, and if the losses keeps going on for like a week without any good wins they find another one casino slots, some online casino are not so cool and they are very food at making you lose all your money.
There are certain games in gambling which are addictive and one of it is slots. That is because slots works in two ways, that is it's visual and sound while most games only have one of it and sometimes none of it because they are too basic but people still play them because they are straight to the point and this people mostly care about the profit potential for that game.

I think self control can also come next but first we need to test the game and see if we are able to stop once we get enough but for some who have an OCD. They may need to treat it first before dealing in fun and addicting activities because they will surely get hooked with it.

Gambling addiction can be caused not only by slots but also other gambling games such as poker, sports betting, roulette, lottery, etc.

Besides, addiction can be caused not only by gambling. Look at, for example, how many people in the world are overweight from overeating - they all have a food addiction in some way. And most of them think they don't have a problem and are in control.

The main problem is in a person's head and until you understand that, it's very difficult to fight addictions.

1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: May 02, 2023, 06:04:07 PM

It's all about creating value.

To get $100 per day you could start creating things that people might be interested in buying.

For example, posters, ebooks, courses, apps, etc. Eventually, if you make good ones, people will pay for those, and you might end up with more than $100 per day.

If you are simply putting money in a casino you are not creating value. The casinos created something of value for you (the entertainment or the idea you will get rich), and you pay for it, not the other way around.

In today's time, to create something that has a value of $100 every day you either have a lot of money to make others work for you, or work yourself and have a very high level of skill (to be not only a master of his craft, but also be able to sell yourself). Without this, it's very difficult to make even $100 a day on your own (as long as you work honestly). At least in my country.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Questions of the day for gamblers on: May 02, 2023, 05:47:34 PM
~snip~

If someone tells you that their casino is decentralized it is not necessarily true. Someone who really has a decentralized casino offers you to check it for yourself, because decentralization works without any trust and can be checked at any time.

We are all used to playing in casinos, where all relationships are based only on trust, which means that it is too early to talk about decentralization.

1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 01, 2023, 07:59:09 PM
Gambling is very addictive, gambling less can only help you if you are not putting it to heart which I not possible but I must say that once you are into gambling it will be almost impossible for you not gamble more unless you are just a beginner that just want to give it a benefit of doubt but once you win a bet generally you will gradually see yourself graduating into a full gambler.

In fact, many many things can be addictive, and it's not just alcohol, drugs, and gambling. This can also be said about food, sex, and many other activities. On the other hand, many people enjoy many of these activities almost every day and have no problem at all. So most likely the reality is that addiction is expressed only in people who either do not know how to limit themselves, or have some psychological problems.

1353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Expect Consistent Winnings From Gambling - A Lesson I Learnt. on: May 01, 2023, 05:37:45 PM
Not that the guy is even rich yet, not that he built a mansion or a company for business. He rented an apartment and bought two iPhones and thought the earning will be consistent.

but this is a lesson for us all to learn from.
He left his job just because of gambling. That is stupidity. There is nothing I can learn about this but to see it as stupidity.

Although you are very correct, gambling should not be seen as a business. People that see it as business and a way to make income will always end like this.
The moment a gambler decides to leave completely his job so he can focus on gambling and gain bigger income, that is a total stupidity. No man has the right thinking to leave his stable job out from gambling. The only lesson I get here is gambling will never guarantee you to be profitable consistently. In times you’re lucky, you might be making profits but since most of the time we never get luck, so we always lost the chance and end up gambling at the losing end.

I would not quit my job even if I had enough money for 10 years of carefree life, because my goal is not to spend the money I have earned, but to multiply it. I agree with the forum users who think this guy was stupid for believing in himself and quitting his job. I think he is already regretting what he did.
1354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a fan of sports betting? Have you ever considered using Bitcoin sportsbo on: April 30, 2023, 05:53:55 PM
I almost forgot when I played in a land-based casino or personally visited a bookmaker's office to place a bet. The development of the Internet has led to the fact that we can do many things without leaving home, and the development of cryptocurrencies has added even more convenience and anonymity to these processes. It seems to me that in a forum dedicated to bitcoin, almost every gambler has used cryptocurrency to play casino and sports betting.
1355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The psychology of betting..... on: April 30, 2023, 05:39:54 PM
I completely agree with the author of this thread. As far as I know, everything is our brain's fault, which builds logic chains. And such logical chains are built all the time, even where there is no logical connection. So you just need to know this and not rely on something that does not really exist.

I have a positive attitude to auto bets because sometimes it's just boring to click the mouse and this feature adds only extra comfort during the game.

1357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: April 29, 2023, 07:07:49 PM
That is very bad, how can a grandfather who supposed protect his grand-daughter kidnapped her because of gambling. Oh! That is very bad. I didn't see the man as an addicted gambling gambler but I see him as a wicked grandpa. Gambling addition as level by level. We have the lower class level and the upper class level. Probably he is of the upper class level which have some witchcraft spirit.
Gambling addiction is more of wanting to play bet at all time but what this man did is contradicting.

In fact, in our society, sometimes there are such vile people hiding under the mask of respectable people that kidnapping a granddaughter and asking for her ransom can seem like a prank. I would not write off this grandfather's behavior as a gambling addiction, but he is most likely mentally ill and dangerous to society. The main question remains - why don't we still have a working system for identifying this kind of person at an early stage?

I have lost large sums of money several times. The last two losses I remember very well. After the last loss I made a rule not to play in the casino for more than $100-200. To be honest, there were times when I broke down and lost more money, but I'm glad I imposed this restriction for myself.
1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: April 28, 2023, 06:00:54 PM

I would call such people idiots. And not because they lost quite a large amount of money in the casino, but because they became famous for coming up with a fraud that is easy for law enforcement agencies to uncover. In addition, as I understand it, they can be held accountable for their deception. I hope they remember this experience for a long time and next time think twice before playing in a casino with money they can't afford to lose.

Large gaming platforms that have been on the market for a long time and value their customers will never offend them without reason. If you meet a lot of negative reviews about a gambling platform (whether it is known or not) it is better not to experiment and instead choose a gambling platform that has positive reviews. Such reviews should not be from bloggers or streamers who are willing to do anything for money, but from people who value their reputation and will not advise bad things.
