13501  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Stolen or lost BTC with Electrum Wallet on: December 29, 2017, 05:06:44 PM
Ohhhhh F***
Is it possible?

First of all i downloaded from https://electrumsource.org/#download (cant remember if was the stand alone executable or windows instaler, i tried both), version 3.0.0. Is that the wrong site?Huh

I dond know how to use Kleopatra yet but the asc file on my electrum directory shows:

-snip-

https://electrumsource.org is fake isnt it?? We must take this site down, they are stollen money from assholes like me and spoiling the reputation of the wallet!!
Yeah... This website and the binaries are fake. The only real website you should use to download Electrum is: https://electrum.org/

This means that you coins are gone and there is really no way to recover them. And that's not the first time I see people falling for this scam. I'm sorry Undecided
13502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recovery of BTC from CoinPocket address on: December 29, 2017, 03:01:16 PM
I googled a little bit and looks like CoinPocket is now Qcan[1]? I download the app and when creating my wallet, they asked me to save my "Qcan Key" (15 words) which it's a seed that gives you access to your coins if you lost access over your account. Did you save anything like this when the app was called CoinPocket?

13503  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: MyCelium and Ledger Nano S and Importing Keys. on: December 29, 2017, 04:19:29 AM
No. You can't import an already existent wallet/private-key to Ledger. As pointed out by HCP, you actually can. But this would also defeats the whole purpose of having a hardware wallet.

Either send all your coins to your new Ledger wallet, or just keep them in your old wallet and start receiving new payments into your Ledger address. I don't really recommend doing that though. But you own the coins, so it's your choice.
13504  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: redeeming btg from btc held on blockchain.info on: December 29, 2017, 12:55:32 AM
Have you tried to check both addresses in a BTG block explorer to make sure if there is any funds on them?

If the addresses aren't empty, then there is a problem with Coinomi and you will need to try with a different wallet. The other wallet I know is Bither[1]. I used to use them between 2015-2016 and I can say that I trust them. They have a option to sweep your BTG directly from the imported address, so it's pretty use to claim them[2].

13505  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum BTC wallet with LTC on: December 28, 2017, 09:59:20 PM
Hello,

I have the same issue  (LTC sent to BTC eletrum wallet)  and I also struggle with finding the directory of my wallets  (sorry..I'm very new to cryptocurrencies).  All I can find when I go into the Electrum directory are some folders named "locale" (with local languages I assume) and "wordlist"  and some files names "currencies" "servers" and "servers testnet"
I opened those files but nothing in them looks like the code you posted?   I don't understand because I'm sure I've created at leat 2 wallets?  Anybody else facing the same problem?

Thankssss in advance
You are looking at the wrong place. Usually, the wallet file is created (by default) at %appdata%/Electrum/wallets and not where Electrum is installed.
13506  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum BTC wallet with LTC on: December 28, 2017, 06:59:51 PM
Same issue here... LTC to bitcoin Electrum

I followed nerioseole's instructions to the t and am unable to successfully get past step 5...

After entering the seed words for my old 2fa wallet as described in step 4, there is no "DISABLE 2fa" option. Instead, it only allows for:
"Extend this seed with custom words" OR
"BIP39 seed"

If I proceed with the BIP39 seed and create the new wallet (no password etc.) and open up that new wallet file with TextEdit, there is only a single xprv and xpub key, not x1-x3... which obviously will not work for the Electrum-LTC multi-signature wallet. Note: I am using Electrum 3.0.3

Thanks for ahead for any help here!
Are you using a 2FA wallet? (And is your address starting with a 3 or a 1?)

If you are, try again but this time choose "Wallet with two-factor authentication" instead of "Standard Wallet" when restoring your wallet seed.
If you are not, then this method won't work for you. In this case, go to Electrum-LTC and choose: Standard Wallet -> Use public or private keys -> Paste your xprv.
13507  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SegWit wallets on: December 28, 2017, 05:26:09 PM
As you seem to be very experienced, please provide a link to the right one. Maybe it is not listed in my country.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samourai.wallet

If it's not available because of your country or device, you can download (and verify) the APK I hosted some time ago:

I downloaded the zip file and went through it all and don't see the .apk file that I can use to run on my Android like I do for Coinami wallet. There is a source but maybe I have to compile it. Is there a compiled .apk file i can just run?
You can't find the apk anywhere else.

I uploaded the APK from the PlayStore for you. But of course you can't trust me, right? So you can verify that the file is legit by doing this:

1. Visit https://md5file.com/calculator or any other SHA256 file calculator.
2. Download the APK file and select it in the MD5File website.
3. You will see that the SHA-256 generated is the same as the one found in the Samourai's github for the Release 0.97.03.

APK file: https://www.mediafire.com/file/ympoeza670xx9mx/Samourai.ver.0.97.03.build.79.apk
13508  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet problem on: December 28, 2017, 04:36:42 PM
Thank you HCP. Yes, the receiving BTC address starts with a 3 and it's a 2FA wallet, script type p2sh.
Would you be able to help me to recover that? I am new and very interested in feel positive about the this new asset class for the long run. I don't have much but I can pay you from the recover coin. Thank you.
Try this:

1. In Electrum, make a new wallet by choosing: "Wallet with two-factor authentication" -> "I already have a seed" -> Paste your 2FA wallet seed -> Next and select "Disable". (Do not enter a password)
2. Now close Electrum, find the wallet file you just created (check %appdata%/Electrum/wallets) and open it with a text editor.
3. You will find 3 xpub and 2 xprv addresses at the bottom of the file. Save them.
4. Open Electrum-LTC[1] and create a multi-sig wallet with a 2-of-3 scheme with the first xprv address and the other two xpub addresses.
5. Then, make a second wallet for the second signer with the second xprv and the other two xpub addresses.

Edit: If this doesn't work, follow this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2414045.msg24763764#msg24763764

13509  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SegWit wallets on: December 28, 2017, 04:19:22 PM
BTW, Edge is also available for Android.

Now I will go to GreenBits and update my post later.
Update: GreenBits seems to be the right one. Now I will maybe bite in the sour apple and send a larger amount to a new generated address of Greenaddress, if there would be no other way for "old" addresses to be integrated to segwit.
What I disliked about GreenBits is that the app is too much simple. You can't export your private-keys, sign messages or have more than one wallet at the same time. It's basically a send and receive only app (which it's not that bad but it's also not for me).

Samourai: Do you mean Sentimental Samourai? If yes, then you only can track your wallets, not spend Bitcoin.
Sentimental (LOL)?. I guess you are talking about Sentinel, right? Sentinel is a watch-only wallet, so it's obviously that he is talking about Samourai (that's why he wrote Samourai and not Sentinel - dah!)
13510  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Warning] About Coinomi on: December 28, 2017, 04:21:29 AM
Yes I would also like to know if there have been any recent developments on this situation.
Looks like they fixed it. However they never admitted that this was an issue, so there was no official statement.

Coinomi pushed an update to the Google Play Store on 4th October (v1.7.7) which appears to now be using SSL.

That's all Coinomi has said about the issue:

As we previously stated, we put Coinomi to the test and found that connections to the back-end servers are secured with SSL. There isn't any address leakage anywhere in our app. Thanks.

13511  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I see when people quote/reply to my posts? on: December 28, 2017, 12:35:05 AM
You can't. The only kind of "notification" you can enable is the notification on new posts in a specific thread or forum board.

This feature will probably be available in the new forum software that should be releasing in the future. No ETA yet.
13512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question Electrum and Electrum Cash on: December 27, 2017, 11:06:44 PM
How do I create a new wallet seed for my original Bitcoin wallet on Electrum? Just want to play it safe.
File -> New/Restore -> Write the name of the new wallet (different from the already existent one) -> Click next and follow the steps.

Don't forget to save your seed!
13513  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Bitcoin Cash Payments From The August 1st Hard Fork on: December 27, 2017, 10:37:21 PM
Only Coinbase may help you (100%). I did some research and that's what I found about people having the same issue (they all had BTC in the Coinbase Vault).

Quote
Someone posted on here earlier something about their coins in the Coinbase Vault and Coinbase emailing them saying it would take longer for their BCH to appear for some reason

No, but I got an email from Coinbase saying because my BTC was in a vault in August it will take longer to put the BCH in new wallet and “sorry for any inconvenience.” A bit inconvenient not being able to sell my BCH when Coinbase had it trading over $8k

13514  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum XVG watch only wallet how to remove funds on: December 27, 2017, 10:26:19 PM
Is your wallet connected and synced to the network? Is the big circle green or red? Try to change the server to:

e1.verge-electrum.com (ssl Port 50003, not 50002)
e2.verge-electrum.com (default ports, ssl=50002)

What do you mean by XVG? if your transaction was confirmed it should be added in your electrum balance.. Let me ask if what electrum wallet version you use and also share your transaction ID so that i can check and what is the real problem about your wallet..
Also check the circle in electrum below right if its red maybe its still not sync properly and my guess is firewall issue.. If the circle is green it means that you are connected and its should sync properly to the server.
XVG is Verge (an altcoin). He is talking about the Electrum fork for this coin.
13515  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is freewallet.org good? on: December 27, 2017, 03:19:20 PM
I wouldn't use them. There are multiple supports of people losing their funds and supposedly getting scammed. And since you don't control your private keys, I wouldn't be surprised if that was true. Why even risk your coins by giving them to someone who has full access to your coins and can take them whenever they want?

If you get your coins back, do yourself a favor and create a safe wallet.
13516  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Help to Log in to Web wallet on: December 27, 2017, 02:44:44 PM
Don't use the "Log in via Mobile" form. Go to the standard one[1], paste your wallet ID in the first field (you should be able to get it on your email), your password and log in. If it doesn't work even after you click the log in button, try to use a different web browser.

13517  Economy / Exchanges / Re: So, phone with authenticator destroyed. on: December 26, 2017, 10:53:39 PM
Im using google authenticator on bittrex because that was what i put as my 2FA when i verified my bittrex account.  I did not know about authy.  And if i want to use authy or andOTP... wouldn't i need to email bittrex about this and in the process my account will be frozen?  Because i have funds on bittrex at the moment.
Google Authenticator, Authy, andOTP are all OTP authenticators. You need to understand that ANY OTP authenticator can be used in any website that accepts Google Authenticator. It's not a rule, and just because it's marked as "enable Google Authenticator" DOESN'T mean that you can ONLY USE THIS APP. Google Authenticator uses OTP, and every other app I quoted above does aswell - which means that you can use any of them for your 2FA.

Also i googled andotp... is that an app on the iphone?
I don't think so. In this case, just search for an iOS OTP app that has support for backups.

Coinbase did not reply back and i read you should not email them again because it would take longer. thoughts on that?
Bitcoin popularity is on rise now. Coinbase has tons of new users everyday and they don't have a support good enough to be able answer all the tickets in a reasonable amount of time. Wait and they may answer you. I just can't say when.
13518  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The ".net" domain for localbitcoins works? on: December 26, 2017, 08:52:16 PM
It's legit.

LocalBitcoins.net is a mirror for the *.com website.

Quote from: /u/Max_LocalBitcoins
Both are real. LocalBitcoins.net is a mirror site for users in countries that block the main domain LocalBitcoins.com.

13519  Economy / Exchanges / Re: So, phone with authenticator destroyed. on: December 26, 2017, 07:48:52 PM
What site are you trying to log in with your google authenticator?  I have similar issue.  My old phone which no longer works, i used google authenticator i believe with it on coinbase.  My new phone i use google authentictor with bittrex but i cannot use it with coinbase now.  I log into coinbase and it send me a code to my sms number which i have.  But it still require my google authenticator from my old phone.  That phone is broke and doesn't work anymore.  I emailed coinbase no reply back.

How do i fix this issue then?
You don't. Why are you using Google Authenticator instead of andOTP which I recommended you to use a few days ago?

Now that your phone broke and you don't have access to your 2FA anymore, you will need to contact Coinbase and wait for a reply. I'm not sure if they are able to reset your 2FA if you provide enought data about you, but you can try (and maybe wait a lot because of their shit support).

With andOTP, a few clicks + a new phone and you would be ok again Cool
13520  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin - Unconfirmed Transaction on: December 26, 2017, 07:34:32 PM
There is no Bitcoin transaction going towards the address you linked.

Have your Coinbase balance decreased? And if it was, how is the transaction showing in your Coinbase account? Make sure that the transaction was really sent.
