13541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I generate a transaction offline (preferably with an offline website)? on: January 04, 2018, 12:39:39 AM
You must admit that it's fair only for web services. You can create transaction with core wallet in offline (it provides to you your utxo). Also, many online block explorers and some other services can provide to you such information. But without proper tools and some experience it will be hard task.
So, let's say I have an offline PC with Core that never connected to the internet. If I send 1 BTC to my address, how exactly can Core know the UTXO?
13542  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.0.3 malware Atc4.Detection on: January 03, 2018, 07:00:12 PM
That's very likely just a false-positive. I downloaded the file from the website, scanned and got the same result.

Just make sure to download the file from electrum.org (which is the ONLY official website) and you will be fine.
13543  Other / Off-topic / Re: Google Authenticator question on: January 03, 2018, 06:18:05 PM
Yes.

You can generate a QR compatible with Google Authenticator by using this URL and following this template:
https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=200x200&chld=M%7C0&cht=qr&chl=otpauth://totp/TEXT-OF-THE-2FA?secret=SECRET-TOKEN

Example:
https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=200x200&chld=M%7C0&cht=qr&chl=otpauth://totp/Coinbase?secret=F5DUIITYS72Y5CL4Q3GO5XKPRPTRTWSD
13544  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: ElectronCash wallet won't open (no surprise) on: January 03, 2018, 05:14:05 PM
Yes that worked, shows how much I don't know! Tried to send you about $10 and I think it's gone through fine. Thanks for your help. I would like to send you $10 worth of Ripple too as you've been so helpful. What's your XRP address?
I don't have a Ripple wallet right now and looks like they require a reserve amount of 20 ripple to create your wallet (or something like this). So if you don't mind, you can send them to my Binance address and next week I may buy some more to hold.

That's what I see in Binance's deposit page: "Depositing Ripple to Binance requires BOTH a deposit address and a deposit Tag. If you fail to include the tag with your deposit the funds will be lost forever.".
(I don't know how difficult is to do this, so you don't need to send them If it's too much work for you)

XRP Address: rEb8TK3gBgk5auZkwc6sHnwrGVJH8DuaLh
XRP Deposit Tag: 108961721

PS. This is a new business model actually, set up a platform where noobies can get help and then pay once they've fixed their issues ... I wanted such a service because (remember) I wasted many days trying to get my BCH before you showed up!
That's a pretty neat idea! I would gladly participate in a platform like this. Not only for the tips, but because I really enjoy helping people who are starting in the cryptocurrencies world. Thank you again for the tips! That's actually the first time I got tipped. Cheesy
13545  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Block explorer with Bech32 address support? on: January 03, 2018, 04:47:40 PM
I have another question regarding SegWit. Is it possible to send Bitcoin from an Electrum 3.03 non-Segwit wallet
to a bech32 address in another Electrum 3.03 wallet? Or can bech32 addresses only receive funds from
Segwit addresses?
Yes, it's possible if the wallet supports (Electrum does in this case) and the sender can use any kind of Bitcoin address.
13546  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Electrum wallet setup on: January 03, 2018, 04:40:55 PM
You can.

In case you don't know how to export your private keys: https://decentral.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/218375657-How-can-I-view-my-private-keys-

Then, just go to Electrum and choose: Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys -> Paste your private-key(s) -> Next.
13547  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Block explorer with Bech32 address support? on: January 03, 2018, 04:49:06 AM
Thank you. Do you know by any chance whether the BTC.com web wallet supports sending
to Bech32 addresses? Or is only their block explorer fully SegWit compatible as of now?
I don't know as I don't use their wallet.

I've tried to do some research but I can't find an answer (and I'm too lazy to test myself).

You can ask in their thread if you want: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1572823.0
13548  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Block explorer with Bech32 address support? on: January 03, 2018, 02:24:42 AM
The only ones I know with full support (overview page, address shown in transactions, ...) for bech32 addresses are https://btc.com and https://blockchair.com
13549  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Do I Manage My Portfolio? on: January 03, 2018, 02:13:18 AM
How about Altpocket.io?

You can automatically import your trades from the supported exchanges and see for how much you bought each coin (in USD and BTC) and how much you profited or lost for each investment. In your profile, you can see your net worth, overall profit, and how much you lost or profited in each investment. It's Blockfolio but better and automatic.

Here is how a profile looks like: https://altpocket.io/user/Erik
13550  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: watching only on: January 03, 2018, 12:48:32 AM
Thanks for reply

Yes but on watching only wallet i can see my balance but i cannot see in new wallet.
how do i transfer the balance in new wallet so that i can send in another wallet or sell ?
Because you need to import the address private-key into a new wallet file. Instead, you created a brand new wallet with a new and random Bitcoin address (which is empty).

To see the address balance, you only need to know the address itself (watch-only). But to spend their coins, you WILL need the private-key.

How did you create your watch-only wallet? From where did you get the address to create it? And do you know the private-key?
13551  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: ElectronCash wallet won't open (no surprise) on: January 03, 2018, 12:32:07 AM
Are you sure that's your correct BCH address? I opened my Ledger Nano Bitcoin Cash (Split) wallet and tried to transfer BCH to you several times but it always fails? I wonder if all the issues I had getting the BCH into my wallet somehow messed up and the funds are stuck?
That's weird... I actually had some BCH during the fork in this address, so I'm pretty sure it should work. Do you get any error message while trying to send the BCH? And is this only happening when you try to send them to my address?

The error message was simply "Error"! I haven't attempted to send to anyone else. Do you have BCH in your wallet at the moment? Can you open your wallet and copy the address once more to check?
I don't have any BCH atm.

I'm 100% that the address is correct: 1NinjabXd5znM5zgTcmxDVzH4w3nbaY16L
I also have this one which has a few satoshis on it (of BCH): 3DrtnT916Lzg2uicoJFLHAsef8XBdtiHUk

Try to do like this guy said (enable and use the BCH app): https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoincash/comments/7guvyv/sending_failed_ledger_nano_s_bitcoin_cash_error/dqmhotr/
13552  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: January 03, 2018, 12:23:17 AM
I know... I know I made a mistake, but can ChipMixer restored expired session?
I have deposited and extended it purposedly daily for my reasons
but because of real life activities with family visiting in this new year, I forgot to do it in the last 2 days
please... can I get my bitcoin back?
Nope. Look at the bottom of the page. Any reasons on why you kept extending the session instead of saving the private keys?

If session expired (48h) or was destroyed manually, we cannot help you.

13553  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How can i view balance/status of BTC blockchain at certain block height? on: January 02, 2018, 08:28:02 PM
-snip-
Or just use this all-in-one tool which supports BTC, BCH, BitCore, BTG and BCD.

Here is how it looks like:

13554  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitpay gives an URL instead of a payment address on: January 02, 2018, 07:37:56 PM
Have you tried to use the first tab (that has the QR code) and click the "Open in wallet" button? I did this and it opened my Electrum wallet with everything already filled (address and amount).

Edit: I just tested with Core installed and the same happened. It opened my Core wallet with everything ready to be sent.

Dear Users, we found what is the problem, we thought it was DDoS, but our domain registrator put our domain on hold. We took all steps needed to unlock access to our site. But it can take some time. Don't worry. All coins are safe. We are doing our best to solve the situation.

13556  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is it safe to use low fee? on: January 02, 2018, 07:18:43 PM
Use this[1] website if you want to calculate how much fees it's recommended to pay for your transactions. It's IMO a little bit more user friendly than the website above.

13557  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitpay gives an URL instead of a payment address on: January 02, 2018, 05:47:23 PM
Does your link look like this? bitcoin:?r=https://bitpay.com/i/Pg6Kwq...
Edit: Image wasn't showing...

Looks like this is part of a new Bitpay update that uses Payment Protocol URL instead of a simple Bitcoin payment address. Which is IMO something pretty dumb.

I'm not sure if there is any way to get the address directly. But that's what Bitpay has to say:
Quote
If you are using a non-Payment Protocol wallet or service to pay BitPay invoices, you will need to move your spending bitcoin to a wallet or service which can support Payment Protocol. We strongly recommend that you use a true bitcoin wallet for spending to avoid delayed transactions, but you will be able to use any service compatible with Payment Protocol.

13558  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Shake -- bitcoin debit card with 0fx fees, less fraud, and mobile tap & pay on: January 02, 2018, 05:25:10 PM
i think this is a big fee. 1% for every transaction you do with a card and 3% if it is in a different currency. my bank is taking less. whats the difference between this card and say tenX
TenX is also not available for users outside the EU. However, they have lower fees (0% Foreign Exchange Fee), a better support, and they only support BTC but are currently beta testing ETH, ERC20 tokens and DASH.
13559  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trying to buy Ripple (XRP)....trying with kraken...very hard on: January 02, 2018, 04:58:46 PM
Thanks. I just want to buy Ripple and send straight  to my desktop wallet. Are there any fees with those exchanges ? Is there one that does not require verification as it's taking weeks?
Almost (if not all) exchanges will require verification if you want to deposit USD and buy using an USD pair. The easiest way would be to buy BTC (E.g: with Localbitcoins, which is anonymous and doesn't require verification) and send them to Binance (doesn't require verification aswell) to buy your XRP. If you still don't want to buy BTC and then trade, you will need to verify your accounts in those exchanges (and probably wait a little bit).
