1381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you manage your risks? on: January 14, 2019, 02:44:29 PM
I am holding my coins on different wallets and on different exchanges. It is extremely important because some people are using multiple MEW wallets, but only one exchange. The more you will diversify your funds, the safe it will be for you.
Yes, it is better to have multiple wallets but please it is not good to store coins at exchange wallets. You do not know that this type of wallets might be vulnerable to hijacks and you do not want anyone take your coin holdings so as much as possible store it somewhere else and access it on viewing only not by accessing it often by its private key or seed phrase. There is a high risk for it that your private keys and seed phrase will be compromise.
1382  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post in Meta Section They Say, You will have merits they say on: January 14, 2019, 02:24:40 PM

Nobody seems to be taking advantage of that video creation idea. I even put together a site to list Bitcoin music, and you can see some samples in the link below.
Bitcoin Tunes

I need to replace the flower pictures, so I might have a cartoon contest to add some humour to the index page.

Yeah heard of this songs in youtube and I was kind of getting hit by the lyrics. I bought high and sell low. This because I am still new in this cryptocurrency but it does not mean that I can not go back and be smart again. My strateg now is to risk and that is buying when it has a low market price.

Anyway, most of users are average posters. There is no reason to go beyond witty post just to get merit. Let us just wait and see for tghe forum has undergone a lot of changes. Who knows one day that ranking up will be available by purchasing or paying a fee. LOL. I will be more than happy tp rank up.
1383  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession effects on Crypto: How to plan your investment portfolio on: January 12, 2019, 03:13:20 PM
When economists predict upcoming recession, now is the best time to plan your investment portfolio and analyze how recession might impact cryptocurrencies. Here’s an article how portfolio could be diversified for the upcoming market crash:

https://www.signalshunt.com/recession-effects-on-crypto
So hard now. I am trying to invest again so that I could recover my loss but seeing market price would go down for more so now I am doubtful. I have also read a  lots of users perspective on the speculation sections but still many believes that market price will go down. So now, I am still waiting for it to happen. And if does then I will invest for sure again.
1384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ethereum will rise again. on: January 12, 2019, 03:02:19 PM
In the new 2019, Ethereum began to grow steadily.
Of course, this is not the pace that many cryptocurrency players expect, but I see a great future behind it.
Definitely great prospects will open to investors after the market recovers.
Well I hope your words will going to happen. I have invested in ethereum and still holding it because selling or trading it will result to losses on some of the investment.

Anyway, I was having some doubts now to invest or not because the current market price has fall down a little bit and it might be that it could sti fall for more. There is no really a baseline for market for crypto because it can go really deep.
1385  Other / Off-topic / Re: One thing I am Glad for in 2018 on: January 12, 2019, 02:51:00 PM
I do not share the same sentiments, last year was not the worst year for crypto, it was just different.
There are still some people who think everything is going to always positive and without controversial sagas.

No, market price down trend makes it worst. If you are investing bitcoin then you can feel it. This is why I said that it was the worst. As OP said that many were expecting the bottomline was 6k Usd since bitcoin is established already. However, it went dow. and this is where shit happens. Now, many investors are holding because if they will.not the. they will going to lose their investments.
1386  Other / Meta / Re: ban account. I appeal to the global moderators on: January 11, 2019, 08:31:28 AM
You gave an example of 2 sentences. And if someone writes "Satoshi Nakomoto is a famous person because he created bitcoin". Is this plagiarism? As more and more material is written about cryptocurrency, the risk of creating similar offers increases more and more.

It would be possible since there are many articles regarding with the bitcoin or any topics that has been discussed here over and over again. But, it will still make a difference because we construct the sentence and paragraph in a different way. If it was being copied and paste word for word then it could be associated directly to plagiarism. But, if it is not then there could be a chance that an individual will become a plagiarist when his/her post and opinion has will has similarities with other's opinion and how it was being constructed. Yet, it would be the slightest chance that will going to happen. It would be a very rare case.
1387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The dump has started for 2019 on: January 11, 2019, 08:15:08 AM
Market conditions make many people disappointed because the price of coins continues to decline. From the beginning of the year, it was actually very good because the market was in a positive trend. Even though the price is still very low and now the market is falling again.
This will lead to lose interest on some of the people who join and invest in cryptocurrency. However, fluctuation is a good sign that cryptocurrency is still working. Eventually after some downtrends it will make another run and a good market price increase. There are reasons now why cryptocurrency made some fluctuation and that probably because of the latest hacks from ETC in an exchange.
1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shower thought on the state as a Bitcoin holder and government subsidized mining on: January 11, 2019, 08:02:03 AM
Nick Szabo recently spoke on the Israel Bitcoin Summit in Tel Aviv University, and he said that,

Quote

THERE’S GOING TO BE SOME SITUATIONS WHERE A CENTRAL BANK CAN’T TRUST A FOREIGN CENTRAL BANK OR GOVERNMENT WITH THEIR BONDS FOR EXAMPLE. […] ONE SOLUTION THAT’S BEEN DEVELOPED IS TO HAVE THE SWISS GOVERNMENT HOLD IT FOR YOU – THAT’S NOT A TRUST MINIMIZED SOLUTION. THE SWISS GOVERNMENT ITSELF IS SUBJECT TO POLITICAL PRESSURES AND SO A MORE TRUST MINIMIZED SOLUTION IS CRYPTOCURRENCY.

Let's pretend that central banks or the different states around the globe started holding large amounts of Bitcoin, but the block rewards are not enough to support the miners anymore after several halvings. Wouldn't it force the central banks or the state to keep the network going by mining at a loss, but subsidized by the government?

Tell me what's wrong with that logic.
Subsidizing the mining parties would be good but that is if the central banks around the world are holding bitcoins. As we all know that central banks are holding money not bitcoins. They are just supporting bitcoins but not through subsidizing the miners. As we all know that governments has no control over the cryptocurrency system since it is still developing and needs approval from the government.
1389  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of HACKERS! on: January 08, 2019, 09:45:15 AM
All these lazy hacker,  I wonder why they can't use their smartness to achieve something better in a legit way rather than stealing
Actually they are not lazy because they are doing well in hacking or scamming other users. They are very motivated to do it because their efforts will be paid depending on the portfolios they will get after hacking. These hackers nowadays are doing their best and probably now they are taking much from other users. So they are not lazy instead they are really hard working to hack other user's portfolio.

this should be basic sense for people who understand how wallets work , but sadly most of airdrop users are people who are new to crypto in general and looking to make something to start with for free
hope that every site or telegram channel that spreads airdrops make this info pinned for new users in case these users wanted to join another airdrop that isn't listed by that source
it is just common sense for all of us here. We know that because of anonymity feature many are encourage to scam others. Just take the altcoins and bounties sections. There are many fraud and scam projects there. Just include also some hackers that will let you join a group and download a link or a malware that will lead them to hack your accounts.
1390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Implant microchip- Bitcoin wallet? on: January 08, 2019, 09:35:50 AM
Hello all!
I have just heard about microchip in a hand which you can use for Bitcoin payments.
Have you heard about it? Do you know where to order?
I have heard that it is classic microchip for dogs/cats but you have to modify it, but how?

Oh really?, I thought it was a security chip to identify all the people living in that country to solve crimes. This will allow the government to monitor individuals locations and records it in a system where the government could access so that it will be use as a reference if there is any crime happening to which it relate to that person. Anyway, This is not ideal planting a chip for bitcoin wallet in our body. There are better ways storing bitcoin than this.

I would pass that implant wallet! I don't want to implant anything in my body!
Yeah that is a foreign object and even our bodies will not allow for this. Our body will interact to this and this could cause health problems to our body. Sad, but see those people who implanted foreign objects on their boobs and butts now that they are having problem with it from infections and other serious related diseases.

1391  Other / Meta / Re: I seem to be finding some reasonable posts. on: January 08, 2019, 09:25:49 AM
There are two kind of merit makers here,
1.Few pwoplw making really useful posts inwhat they are better at.
2.Some people used to make posts for the sake of getting merits, which maybe worthy to merit but I am not sure this is the intention of merit system being introduced

Merits needs to be awarded when its needed,no matter of who is that poster. Smiley
Misspelled Typo, will be less likely attractive to read. Anyway, there are many users that are always posting in this section knowing that many merit source are lurking and looking post to get send merit. This is why we can see many of users hanging around in this section. Obsession to get merits in inevitable.
I wish we could get away from the obsession with merits. Most of the highly merited posts here are of little interest to me. I think the attitude, knowledge and contact of a poster is far more important than his merit awards. I don't understand why some posts are given merit, and I suspect that many don't understand some of my awards.

I don't really care if a poster wears socks with sandals, or can't use his little finger to control chopsticks. I do find it annoying if he wears his merits like a bling necklace.
Well there could be more reason other than that getting merit to brag about it. Some were just like to get merits in order to rank up and earn more in participating signature campaign. This is the very common reason why one always find a way to get merit. I did not say that I am not one of them but it looks like I am though. LOL
1392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help to review my security and fail safe on: January 07, 2019, 09:26:34 AM
Actually your problem could be arrange. You do not talk about legal matters? This is the best way for you to solve your problem. You can talk to your lawyer with your wife and other parties concern about your assets that includes your cryptocurrency. OP, you should not worry too much after your death or any situations that will affect both of your properties or any things that important to you. Life is just too short so enjoy it and spend quality some time with your wife and to your family and every thing else will going to follow.

Just bring your problem to legal matters OP. Lawyers were very good at it and will definitely help you to solve your problem. Good Luck OP hope to see your problems solve.
1393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is a hard fork good or bad? on: January 07, 2019, 08:55:54 AM
The reason for upgrade of a coin is to improve on it and growth and development must be a going concern. Now, as it relate to market reaction of coin upgrade, it depend on the narration and market perspective of such upgrade.
Is hard fork an upgrade to a coin? Yes, I have been into research about fork and it does compromise on upgrading coin. According to wikipedia
Quote
A hard fork is a rule change such that the software validating according to the old rules will see the blocks produced according to the new rules as invalid. In case of a hard fork, all nodes meant to work in accordance with the new rules need to upgrade their software. If one group of nodes continues to use the old software while the other nodes use the new software, a split can occur.  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fork_(blockchain))
This is what happen to bCH and BSV. Now, the crypto has been splitting into two but BCH still has dominated over BSV as coinmarketcap.com shows the ranking list between these two crypto.

But, If I were to chose then I will go on BSV because this is the hardfork of BCH. A new and upgraded software for BCH is BSV.

Hard fork effect?

For now the effect is bad because it influences bitcoin market price drop. Sadly bitcoin market price reaches its bottom at 3.2K USD.
1394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can DeepOnion hit ATH again? on: January 06, 2019, 05:02:24 AM
I was an early investor and made a quite good amount from DeepOnion last year. But unfortunately, I have invested again in July possibly and now I am in loss although, overall, I am in profit. Recently, in the dip I had bought more.
Its ATH was $17+. Is it possible to reach at ATH again from the current situation? The only reason I like this coin because of its active DEV team. They are very hard working.
Well you could not just invest something based on your feelings. Id rather check updates on the team's work and how it could affect their coin status. Investors also will be talking more about the project and less likely it will be one of they for you to understand things for that coin and how it could go ATH again. But, if you are not pretty sure then since you have profited already in that crypto then I guess it is also good to start over again looking for a good coin.
1395  Other / Meta / Re: Another 3 new account spamming 1 Thread on: January 06, 2019, 04:48:35 AM
bumping threads to get more visibility in that section. Anyway, theymos has already asking a nice way in his thread to arrange the topics in every section. There were many suggestions there with other user's input and their opnion with the topic. So, we'll just wait on things the theymos will come up to. We are herr to support it anyway as long as it could do better for the forum and somehow hopeful that it could reflect also for the good of cryto market in any way it can help.
1396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Question] What will happened to Bitcoin if there's no miner? on: January 06, 2019, 04:38:37 AM
The system will not going to work especially if there were trades. The miners were said to be the one to confirm transactions by putting transferred btc into blockchains. Anyway, miner job to.any crypto is very important. Other crypto can use other platform so that is why there are many of it in the market that are im the same block chain which supported by the platform they are using. The most common platform they use is ETHEREUM platform.
1397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many Countries Government trying to stop bitcoin, what reason ....... on: January 05, 2019, 09:15:35 AM
anyone know what reason  stoping bitcoin many countries,,,,,,,,,,what reason ?
As the other guys had thought on their replies that bitcoin were being used abusively and it intentions or purpose was not being utilized. Bitcoins were being drag many times with scam activities were people use bitcoin to scam other, use bitcoin as money laundering and even transaction for illegal activities. This is why other countries hate bitcoin so others haf made some step to regulate bitcoin to minimize or to prevent this happenings.
1398  Economy / Economics / Re: Will BTC defeated in 2019? on: January 05, 2019, 09:01:57 AM
Bitcoin has still the huge marketcap volume than other crypto in the market so for other crypto to take over may take some time. Ether and XRP were the next in line crypto to bitcoin. However, the gap between the market cap is really huge that is why bitcoin was being called as the king of the crypto and it is indeed because of the number of people hold bitcoin.
1399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All bankers hate BTC, am I right? on: January 05, 2019, 08:50:49 AM
No and they should not hate bitcoin banks were really useful when you made some payments to buy out crypto. We could not just trust any third parties that could be trusted with transfer of huge money. Besides exchanger for crypto does need this banks to receive payment to which banks could earn. The more crypto conversion to be made the more these banks will going to earn.
1400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a better store of value than gold on: January 04, 2019, 08:20:12 AM
Yes when it comes to store value bitcoin is better but in the long run. Gold has some attributes to which it could be better than bitcoin. The disadvantage of bitcoin in the long run is that its market price volatility. I could not really speculate well because bitcoin system has still a lot of things to prove compared to gold that has proven already its worth over the period of time.
