141  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If Centralized Exchanges No Dey, How We want Take Survive for Dis Scammers World on: March 29, 2024, 11:58:10 PM
In the law of centralized exchanges, it is the duty of the buyer to pay first before the seller release the coins and that has been a warning to us everytime. And now that can also practice I'm the real trading time.

It's also the law of decentralized trading (P2P) no send coin if you never receive money (when you dey sell) or no send money if you never receive coin (when you they buy). Scammers dey everywhere na for we to get sense and use our brain well make person no go chop your hard earn money. With or without centralized exchanges we for dey alright. Me I dey even reason say na centralized P2P exchange na wetin make our Decentralization P2P exchange never strong well if not people for dun dey used to the real P2P system and master am well. When buyer contact you to send coin first just block number and avoid them. Better still you fit dey trade with a trusted merchant for your area but you go use your sense and nor dey trade with only one merchant for you to avoid see finish make person no go set you up unto say you get plenty funds.

And now if Nigerian government stop and block all the exchanges in the country, what will be the solution to the issue?

Decentralized P2P and also local centralization P2P go come back like those WhatsApps and Telegram P2P system wey been dey reign those days wey dem go add you to group with the admin standing as an escrow for una to run transaction and no forget say Nigerians dey always find way to solve problems wey dem get. Dem no go fit ban everything cryptocurrency trading and even when they ban all things relating to cryptocurrency, sites disguise as something else but doing crypto trading will launched (no joke oh abi you dey forget the country wey you dey)?
142  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The time to invest what you can afford to lose on: March 29, 2024, 11:40:30 PM
In the past bull some people observed the market and noticed the price was increasing and it triggered them to enter the market unknownly to them that was the end of the bull market which the price of bitcoin started dropping down.

This one na normal thing wey dey happen for every bull market and e go still happen for this bull markets wey dey come so, people go think say as Bitcoin price begin dey increase say e go continue and they'll hurry to invest but not knowing say na the peak of the bull market wey dem invest so and they'll be left holding Bitcoin but only those wey get the patience to continue holding until the next Bitcoin halving go come wey be in 2028 go make am. Some people no like they buy Bitcoin until dem dun dey see major movement for the market dun dey happen and by that time e dun dey late already.

Quote
Before now much accumulating of bitcoin is supposed to have been done then when the price of bitcoin was very low, but many missed it because of waiting for bitcoin price to still go down low more and many other reason and they are so eager and desperate to invest bitcoin because of the bull market.

Procrastination no be better thing, instead of you to be procrastinating, dey better you do everything wey enter your mind that time so you no go forget am. E never too late sha to start dey accumulate Bitcoin if you reason the price wey dey in speculation say Bitcoin go reach, at least you fit still make from 100% profit upward of the price target reach $140k and above so you fit start your own accumulation now and by the end of the bull market you fit still make better profits and e better than not make any profit.
143  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be careful when doing transaction on: March 28, 2024, 08:45:52 PM
What a loss, but in this regards crypto would have added this feature of returning mistaken money. Everyone is bound to make mistake. It should be recoverable in cases like this. That is how I came across a post yesterday saying that the first man in Nigeria to own bitcoin lost a huge amount of money to erroneous transfer where he will seeing the transaction everyday but can't recover the money.
At the time my mentor was buying some coin for me, you have to see how will was repeatedly checking the copied address against the original address to be sure.  knowing quit well that if he makes mistake, it is gone.

Bitcoin chief abi wetin be him name again lost a huge sum of money because he mistakenly send some crypto to a contract address instead of a wallet and him been dey beg the founder to help am out. I no know how that matter end as I no following am up but this goes to show how risky the industry is. Me I dun lose money before as I send coin to the wrong address, e fit happen to anybody but that my mistake makes me dey careful the more and na so e supposed dey for the industry make we no go lose our hardwork.

If dem make Bitcoin reversible without the consent of the other party e go spoil everything wey Bitcoin be so that suggestion no follow at all instead na for we to make sure say we dey carry eye follow our transactions well before we confirm am. As we dey this industry so na we be our own bank and any decisions wey we take and how e affects us we support accept am like that and work on not making mistakes.

Mistakes na normal something to happen so if you wan send big money transactions you fit divide the transactions into fractions to avoid losing all funds if you make mistakes when you they send am one time and always verify addresses before you send out transactions.

The new pay rate is okay in other to have a long lasting campaign, the management have made their decision but I just want to make two suggestions.
1. The pay rate of participants in tier E shouldn't have been reduced because we all know how little the pay rate of that tier is and this further reduction may kill the energy and morale of participants working under that tier.
That is true. the pay rate of tier E is too small it may not be even enough to reflect in the wallet of some participants per as the minimum deposit of btc In a wallet. Atleast the payrate should be fair enough to withstand receiving to a wallet without getting lost, for those who usually make Post complete in the tier E.

Bitcoin doesn't have a minimum deposit, if you're using a wallet with a minimum deposit, you're using the wrong wallet so change it to a better non constodial wallet and if you're referring to an exchange (that's the worst platform you should be using as a wallet). Tier E isn't considered as part of the campaigns, it's just there to give a working experience to those that wish to have a feel of campaigns. Making just barely enough to remain in the campaign is okay and when you rank up you can increase your posting as it sorts you.

2. Wouldn't it be possible to make payments at a fixed amount in dollars so that In a case of more increase in the price of Bitcoin, the pay rate will not be affected.
Just a suggestion.

This is one of the few campaign still using a payrate in Bitcoin and instead of asking us to change you should be encouraging others to switch to BTC payrate. The adjustment isn't a problem if you hodl your BTC it'll be worth it at the end of the day. Remember this isn't a job and if you're not comfortable with the way a campaign is operating you can switch to others that you like the way they're operating, we must not belike others,

150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 22, 2024, 06:01:04 AM
I've been watching with interest as Bitcoin has pulled back over the past week after hitting new highs. Part of me wants to accumulate more while the price is down, but I also wonder if we may see it drop further in the short term.

So what if we see a drop in the price in the short term, are you willing to take that risk and miss out on buying totally? Better still if you are feeling the market has more decreasing to do then DCA. DCA doesn't only reduce your cost per purchase but makes you not to miss out on potentially buying some Bitcoin at a lower rate and makes you to not miss out on buying if Bitcoin doesn't decrease in price. There's no wrong time when buying Bitcoin, just that profiting from Bitcoin all depends on your level of patience and as a Bitcoin investor, having patience should be your main character because you'll need it.

Quote
Well there are good arguments on both sides. On one hand, the long-term outlook for Bitcoin remains very bullish as adoption increases. Even major institutions continue entering space, and trends like halvings may lead to new all-time highs over the coming years. But on other hand, factors like the upcoming Fed meeting could continue to bring volatility in the short-term.

The long term outlook is always bullish and that should be our main focus and not the the short term outlook. You have given all the reasons why buying Bitcoin is the right thing to do, soon the institution investors will own most of the available bitcoin and they won't be selling it cheap (that's if they'll be selling). Don't let the short term outlook poison your mind, use every opportunity that comes your way to accumulate Bitcoin. I buy Bitcoin when there's availability of spare money in my hands while I do my regular monthly DCA. Don't follow the crowd, have your own strategy that you use and invest for a better tomorrow.
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A weird interview on: March 22, 2024, 05:38:33 AM
The interviewer: If you are eventually imprisoned and denied access to internet and communication for 10 year, on regaining freedom what's the first thing you will do?
My answer: I will ask for a mobile phone or a laptop to check the Bitcoin price Grin

I don't see anything weird with this answer because that's what I'll do too if I had invested into any assets before I was imprisoned. It doesn't matter if it was Bitcoin, gold or any digital assets that I know had potential and had invested into them. The answer is only sounding weird to the interviewer because she's still under the brainwashed people that the government still have control over that Bitcoin is a scam and not worthy of their investment so they can remain under the control of the government. She's a cooperate worker so I'm not surprised that she sees the answer as weird. People with investment mentality won't find that answer weird.

Quote
She exclaimed that it is weird that I love bitcoin that much. She proceeded to ask if I am sure bitcoin will still be around in 10yrs time and what value will it have.
My answer: Things change alot, 5 years is alot for many things to happen let alone 10 years. However, I believe bitcoin will be around and it might worth between 100k to 300k dollars.

Why is she behaving like 10 years is 100 years. 10 years is just a decade away and many of us here will still be around so it's not a long time and Bitcoin will obviously be around in the next 10 years. 10 years is just 2/3 presidential elections away, just 2/3 halving away so it's not that a long time. Alot can happen in 10 and I'm not in doubt of that but Bitcoin can survive 10 years and will be having a much more better adoption than it currently has. For the price of Bitcoin, I can't give an exact figure but one thing we can have in mind is the price currently won't be the price in the next 10 years. Bitcoin will be trading at a more high price and would have added another zero or more to the price.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC profit taking strategies? on: March 22, 2024, 05:07:41 AM
Everyone has different strategies according to their own lives. Maybe your plan is good but not necessarily good for other people and vice versa. In my opinion, a good strategy is to sell when the price of Bitcoin goes up and wait when the price of Bitcoin goes down, then buy again. That's all. It's easy for me to take advantage of Bitcoin as long as I patiently wait for a long time.

People shouldn't be forcing their strategy on others, there's already a proven strategy that never fails anyone that uses it which is to hodl Bitcoin so why are others trying to invent their own strategy and forcing it down on others. We're concentrating on the wrong thing here, the focus should be more on how to buy Bitcoin. We have to speak more about the different strategy that new investors should be using to accumulate Bitcoin and not how they should be selling. You don't sell a rare precious stone (asset) which is what Bitcoin is.

Trying to time the market doesn't favour everyone but hodling favours everyone, you don't need special talents or knowledge to hodl Bitcoin but not knowing how to time the market perfectly can make you to lose you Bitcoin and getting it back will cost you more. What's the reason for taking profits (selling your Bitcoin) is it that you need the money or you're just trying to outsmart the market? Let it be known that the smart investors aren't those trading the markets but those quietly buying as many Bitcoin that they can get their hands on like Michael Saylor (MicroStrategy).
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Michael Saylor and MicroStrategy sell BTC? on: March 22, 2024, 04:50:32 AM
When I am holding Bitcoin, I only know when I will sell it. Only MicroStrategy can say when they are going to sell their holdings. For a long time, MicroStrategy has been accumulating bitcoin, and we don't know what their exact target is. By considering the average accumulation price, they are already making profits. I don't think they will sell their holdings very early. They must have a goal where they might sell. They would have a selling strategy as well, since they have an accumulation strategy. They won't dump the market at all.

Michael Saylor (MicroStrategy) are smart investors, they already have am exit strategy which they won't disclosed to anyone knowing it would affect the market and reduced their chances of making far more profits than they'll make of the public doesn't know their existing targets. Lets take Bitcoin as an example, when it's a public knowledge that the potential ATH is at a specific price from various top speculators, Bitcoin find it hard to get to that price because there's many selling pressure from traders at a closer price to that targeted ATH so Micheal saylor won't be disclosing that information to the public and we should stop being bothered about when they're going to sell because they're not the ones controlling the market.

They might be the top investors that everyone is lookin up to for now but whenever they're ready to leave the market, they'll be replaced by other top investors. Why aren't we asking, when is Michael Saylor (MicroStrategy) buying and not when they're selling, we should be interested more in when they're buying so we join them in buying then we can set our own exits plans but it shouldn't be a permanent exit plan from Bitcoin because Bitcoin isn't going anywhere and anyone that leaves the market permanently irrespective of how much they have made will be missing out if what Bitcoin has for its investors ahead.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: March 22, 2024, 04:35:24 AM
All investments involve risk, and Bitcoin is no exception.  However, your view focuses heavily on the potential for success stories – those who've held Bitcoin since its inception and reaped significant rewards.  This paints an optimistic but incomplete picture.

His views are focused on the success stories because that's the reward for hodling Bitcoin, and he's trying to establish a positive future for hodling Bitcoin which he isn't wrong because Bitcoin has proven numerous times that its hodlers never regrets that's why hodling will always be the best strategy to invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin has its risk but when calculating the risk to reward ratio, Bitcoin is far more a better investment when you buy and hodl and not having a short time investment mentality. There's more success story when you hodl Bitcoin irrespective of how the market moves because at the end of the day, Bitcoin always reward its hodlers.

Quote
The "win-win" situation applies only with hindsight.  For early investors, holding was a wise strategy.  But for those who bought at the peak of a bull market, the wait for profits can be agonizing, especially during prolonged downturns.

The win-win situation doesn't apply only with a hindsight, you can know that hodling will give your profits from past investors. Bitcoin is no longer a new investment that doesn't have a history that you can look at. Those that are hodling end up being in profits so if you want to have a win win situation, you can just hold and not get bothered about the movement of the market. Those that bought at an early stage of Bitcoin (let say when Bitcoin was at its lowest) and those that bought at the peak of a bull run can all benefit if they hodl provided both investor have the patience to wait. The rollercoaster experience is part of the journey of investing in Bitcoin.
155  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be ready when it comes to selling? on: March 22, 2024, 03:46:36 AM
Is it a good idea to still have most of my crypto on cold storage in a few months when the market is pumping and I am wanting to sell or is it best to start moving everything to exchanges which will then make it easier to sel

Do you want to lose all your efforts that you have put into keeping your crypto safe for all this while in your cold wallet, keeping crypto on exchange is never a good idea unless you're an active trader and the amount that you're keeping on an exchange should be an amount that if the exchange seize to exist and you lose the money it won't be the end of the world for you but since you're not a trader you have no business hodling your Bitcoin on an exchange.

You're speaking about missing the opportunity to sell at a potentially high price but aren't you considering the possibility of losing all your crypto holdings because the moment you send your coin to the exchange, you're making your coins valuable to hack. An exchange can't protect your crypto like you'll do when you hodl them in a cold wallet as you're already doing.

Quote
This may be obvious to some but this is my first bull run and want to be ready when it comes to selling and I am just not sure what is best way of planning to sell.

I'll scarified those few extra profits I would had made by selling at a higher price then making my crypto valuable just because I don't want to miss selling at the supposedly best price. Better still it'll be best you set a price for you to take profit and not try to time the ATH of Bitcoin to sell as it's very unlikely that you'll sell at the ATH.
156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Potential Scams to Watch Out For in the 2024 Bull Run! on: March 21, 2024, 09:08:55 PM
In the current market conditions three most common and effective scams you will encounter. These three scams are so effective to date that scammers tend to use it whenever they see the market is in a bull run and would use them for their benefit.

  • Pump-and-Dump schemes
  • Fake news and FUD
  • Rug pulls

You can't see a pump and dump scheme with Bitcoin, you'll only see the market increase and decrease based on the mood of the market and you aren't totally at lose when Bitcoin decrease because the price will definitely rise back after the corrections. Fake news and FUD are experienced by Bitcoin investors but if you don't allow the news to determine what happend to your Bitcoin bags you won't be affected.

Rug pulls aren't things that can happen to you as a Bitcoin investor so if you want to stay safe and free from all what OP mentions, avoid investing in altcoins and keep accumulating Bitcoin. When you invest into Bitcoin you won't have to be watchful for that much scams in the market,l because you'll be valuable to the scams that usually dominate the bear market. As you secure your Bitcoin firmly and you won't be among those falling a victim to the scams that'll be dominating the bull market.

Altcoin are where the scammers are concentrating as they know alot of ignorant investors will be, since they're all searching for the next crypto to pump so they're easy targets to scam.
157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do the needful this period and save yourself stress and heartbreak on: March 19, 2024, 09:57:53 PM
All these and many more happen during this period so it would be nice for every newbie and know what to do to avoid such stories especially for the aspect of saving or keeping your coins on exchanges

Newbies need to stay informed, as when you're joining a new industry you have to stay updated with how things are going on in the market. If you're a newbie on the forum don't be shy to ask questions and stay login as information will be disclosed regularly on the forum that can save you from becoming a victim yourself to this scams. What were experiencing right now is a tip of the iceberg as things will be more intense as the bull market continues. The scams aren't much different from what has been happening in the past so you can easily spot them. Do some research and not stay ignorant or in the dark and you won't be a victim to the scams

Quote
Let's all stay smart out there and avoid getting entangled in any scam event and be always be on guard that these are trial time for those that refuse to learn and heed to advice.

At times doing nothing is a far better solutions than trying to be smart. I'll suggest we just buy Bitcoin, hold and not do anything untill the bull market is done. Lets consider every opportunity we see as a scam and not pick interest in any of them. Ignoring everything that isn't Bitcoin is the perfect strategy to use in outsmarting the scammers.
158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Prepare Your Children For Bitcoin Investment and Not for Government Jobs. on: March 19, 2024, 09:34:37 PM
Therefore the best option I suggest is to prepare your children in cryptocurrency investment so that they will not depend on government or private sectors jobs but will create jobs for the society through cryptocurrency investment. Like many have done it from their bitcoin investment. They have opened Boutique, Barbing Salon, Restaurant fast food shops, Food Items Shop, Land and Fish Farms etc. And for that instead of seeking for jobs, they provide jobs for others and they become employers of labour.

I get it that this is a Bitcoin forum but all you have written can be gotten from all sorts of successful investment and not just Bitcoin investment. What I'm trying to say is preparing your children to be able to spot what assets are from the crowd is what should be emphasize on here because we don't know of the future. Don't just teach your kids about investing in Bitcoin but teach them financial education and how to manage their money properly because they can make profits yet not know how to manage it which will make them to lose those profits trying to make good use of them.

Governments job are so old fashion, you can create a job out of anything nowadays because of the internet. You don't have to be answering "Yes sir" to someone else before you can make a good living for yourself. Jobs might be a thing of the past in the future as more advanced technology dominant and take over our jobs because they'll be doing it more effectively and less time consuming too (meaning they'll be more productive).

Prepare your children for the future, teach them how to buy and hodl Bitcoin. If you're very good at trading you can also start teaching them how to do this too but make them understand that not every Bitcoin is meant to be traded, some should be used as capital gain investments through hodling.

My point is to create awareness  about the rapid increase in creation of shit and meme coins (altcoins generally)and most of them are about to lunch before the bitcoin halving

Bitcoin halving draws attention to the industry as there is publicity all over the internet through news of Bitcoin having it's halving so it's expected that scammers will be coming to launch their projects to get some money from ignorant investors. Memecoins is their newest goldmine as they can hide behind being a memecoin to defraud their victims and yet they go untouched because the industry isn't a regulated one to punish them. Everyone is responsible for their safety here and if you decided to invest into a memecoins after all the discussion about them not being worth it by high ranked users, you should be accepting your fate for being ignorant.

These are my give outs
Stay away from new meme and shitcoins (altcoins generally)
Although I'm not totally against  altcoins  but investment  should be focused on the real deal which is bitcoin

To be safe, stay away from all altcoins not just the new ones because the old ones can also turn out to be an exit scam. Many altcoins will be using the bull market as an exit strategy knowing they don't stand a chance in the next bear bear as they escaped the last one with just luck. Investment in altcoins if there's any should be considered a gamble and not to be reliable. If you're new to the industry and don't have the experience yet, buy Bitcoin and hodl. Don't worry about the gains speculated on altcoins, accumulating Bitcoin that has a track record that's reliable and keep your Bitcoin offline through using a hardware wallet and storing your recovery phrase in a secure location that isn't connected to the internet should be your focus.
