441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you rather make your investments in FAIT or CRYPTO? on: November 03, 2023, 04:04:37 PM
The crypto market has an high level of volatility, anyone who is about to make an investment need to have a good understanding of the volatile market. Now the question is even with the volatility will you still choose crypto over fiat when it comes to making investments?

If by crypto you mean Bitcoin then YES but if you mean altcoins then NO. I'll rather stick with fiats as they have more security then altcoins. Atleast I know my investment (with fiats) won't just vanish one day. You can be rich in altcoins this very moment and the next thing you know, you're broke again due to the project founder performing an exit scam on we (the investors) or the market crashing and the project loses all the hype and momentum that the price can't recover again. Altcoin Investment aren't recommended as they're pure gamble and not investments.

On the other hand my investment will be preferred in Bitcoin than fiats because fiats investment get devalued over time that even when you make profits, you are still at lost due to the inflation of your local fiats. My country currency (Naira) is one of the worst out there that it's nightmare investing with it. As you're investing in Bitcoin, you don't need to bother about the volatile nature of the market as it doesn't concern you, you aren't trading so you have nothing to do with the market until you have gotten to your investment target and you need to exit the market then you sell.

Irrespective of the direction that the market takes, when you don't sell, you don't lose so just keep holding through all the volatility and you'll be fine at the end.
442  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Mining possibility in Nigeria on: November 03, 2023, 03:43:36 PM
Food for thought, is it possible to become a miner in naija supposing say our light just come stable. If u get the financial strength, shae you go enter mining with the continuous cut down of d reward wey miners dey get. If person even get am for mind, shae Niger government go allow people enter the business without Dem give them trouble. Wetting go be d future of Bitcoin mining for naija in  the world.

Others don talk well here but make I throw mouth too for the matter, I go answer your question one after another so e no go dey complicated to read.

1: Yes it's possible to become a miner anywhere wey Bitcoin activity aren't officially banned. The mining activity can also be done legally or illegal too if to say the government dun ban am although I no go advice this one to avoid jail time.

2: The cult down in mining reward (wey be Bitcoin block reward) dey benefits miners in long time so this one no suppose be excuse why you no go mine, assuming every other factors dey okay. The current block reward na 6.25 Bitcoin wey miners dey share so make we just do a rough estimate say Bitcoin na $35k which means that 6.25 BTC = $218k+ then after the halving the reward come reduced to 3.125 and Bitcoin is trading at a minimum of $100k, e mean say the new reward is worth (3.125x$100k) $312k+ also if the miners been hodl the Bitcoin dem be received when Bitcoin reward was 6.25 dem dun get profits too and one certain thing wey dey na say the price of Bitcoin is program to increase after every halving based on the concept of demand and supply.  No forget too the transaction fees wey miners dey receive in addition to block reward.

3/4: (I go combine both last questions make my post no too plenty), the government never talk anytime bad against mining so doing it isn't illegal and if the government noticed an increase dem fit tax those running the business and make their own choppings or freestyle dem provided dem they pay for electricity dem dey consume. The only time a government go dey against Bitcoin mining na when dem dey against Bitcoin. Nigeria no get future for mining because no matter as you talk there's more profits in Hodling Bitcoin than mining and you know we only go where the money is made more. Put all those money wey you wan use set up a mining farm into Bitcoin and just HODL and see the results. Wetin I dey talk na say e no go become a popular thing.

Naah naah bros you sure you're living in this same country Naija with us for you to say cost of living in Nigeria is cheaper. Please for the sake of knowledge enlighten me on how or what makes you feel cost of living in Nigeria is cheaper in this current Nigeria. And I'll appreciate you kindly do that with a data statistic that backs your claims.

To add to wetin Charles dun talk, make you no say before the whole subsidy removal alot of things were been subsidize in the country wey no be only the fuel, even dollars at a point was subsidize so we been dey enjoy for this country. With as low as anything wey you dey earn you fit live comfortable for your own house, get your own water, provide electricity for yourselves. Brother away eh you no fit do any of those things, you go pay tire. The rent matter na true too (monthly rent and other services and dem fit disconnect you without you saying anything, no be here you fit beg NEPA). You can live in Nigeria happily without workings, but you can't try that away because you have alot of bills to pay, no joke oh.
443  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The application of DIP and hodl in our local business. on: November 03, 2023, 02:52:21 PM
There are so many other local items and assets that experience such change at price at different times of the year

The purpose of this thread is to identify and analyze those items and assets we can buy at the point of it decrease in price and hodl them till they experience a price increase and then we can sell them so that way, our knowledge on holding bitcoin becomes also very useful in another area of our daily lives.

Nobi here you go get that information well as most of us no get that information but na to enter market and find those wey dey into those businesses and dem go show you way. There are alot of things that are profitable to buy when it isn't the festival period yet and when December come you go begin sell them for better profits. One of those things na to sell festive decorations that are use for Christmas and New year but you need dey sure by doing your research properly so you no go buy design wey dun dey outdated although e get some designa wey be say no matter which new design come dey always be part of the Christmas design so you go buy dem when dem no cost and sell dem costly doing the Christmas period.

You fit also buy rice or fowl and train dem for the Christmas. When no be Christmas dis things no dey cost like dat but immediately Christmas reach dem go begin cost due to their high demand. Anything though wey you wan use the Hodling strategy take run, make sure you dun do research wella because na one of the things wey dey make business dey successful be dat (correct research).

Bitcoin investment is very much far from what you are trying to say. I know that you are trying to narrow your story to bitcoin but they are of different categories. You hodle bitcoin in a secure place (wallet) where the fear of fire outbreak, arm robbering and the fear of the unknown is not found. Those business men use the profit from the business to buy food stuff and eat so if they hodle for a long time, their survival is at stake.

They're not entirely different, the concept of Hodling can be applied the same to all businesses dat it favors or assets. When you hold your Bitcoin, you have to protect it securely and you fit still do the same to the goods wey you buy and obviously oil no be perishable goods wey go spoil and bring you loses. Clothes too no be perishable goods but the disadvantages wey dey here na say you fit buy clothes earlier but by December dem dun go out of style and those na the risk you have to consider before trying to hodl cloths. When you HODL you need get other sources of business wey go sustain you and same apply for Bitcoin and other business or assets wey you fit hodl to make profits. This topic isn't a bad one, because I sabi people wey dey do this holding business things and making it but it mostly works for things wey no dey perishable and can't go out of style.
444  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: High expectations as we de wait for di coming ATH on: November 03, 2023, 12:47:45 PM
1. What if di ATH no  come happen after halving next year? Or e happen but di result na far bellow our expectations?

No be the first time this kind thing dun happen before, last halving most speculators expectations was atleast $100k but we no reach am and when Bitcoin reach $69k people still dey expect say the price go raise and we go get similar run for the last quarter of the year like we been get for 2017 bull market. Na exactly this point na why dem say make we no dey follow people prediction for social media. The target for Bitcoin next bull market na for am to cross the price of last ATH even though na just $1 e increase after that ATH Bitcoin has gotten a new ATH so make we no dey overestimate come dey get fantasy price target wey we no fit happen in a short time.

Quote
2. The reason wey i de ask be say bitcoin price no too de predictable like dat, and what if di factors wey de trigger di last three halvings before di ATH no come happen as we expect? Like many buyers de pursue to buy fewer bitcoin for market?

As the years goes by, we have more adoption for Bitcoin due to more awareness wey Bitcoin they get, the popularity go make people dey buy Bitcoin and this involves both retail investors dem and institutional investors so the demand for Bitcoin go always dey increase and even though the demand no increase as you dey talk, supply coming into the market dey decrease e own so the price go surely go up. Everything dey work in the favor of Bitcoin after halving, Bitcoin coming into circulation reduces, more Bitcoin are also taken out of market circulation (like dem no dey available for trading as people dey buy and HODL dem and also those getting lost due to our carelessness).

Quote
3. I know say during halving wey new bitcoin de cut in half wey go affect miners reward, bitcoin go de scarce, and price suppose go high. What if buyers no de willing to buy at dat high price, how sellers go take sell dem bitcoin and accumulate di plenty profits?

There is always somebody willing to buy your Bitcoin because it isn't an unlimited asset like Naira, just like when Bitcoin was worth nothing and there were people buying it, when Bitcoin go over cost people go still dey buy. When we say buy we no dey talk about one Bitcoin wey go dey cost over millions but na small ₦50k wey person get him go use am buy Bitcoin so you'll always have those to sell to and no forget institutional investors wey dey run their investment in billions of Naira based on dollars conversion rate dey steadily accumulate Bitcoin because dem wan get control of the maker to manipulate am as dem want and also the profits.

Quote
4. As we know say from di creation of bitcoin, di price de appreciate de go high, so we no go fit to totally rule out di possibility of dat kind scenario, wey price fit to high reach certain extent after halving, wey go fit discourage buyers from  buying plenty bitcoin

This na just the same thing we talk above, no bother about who go buy your Bitcoin because people dey, if you know how much this exchange dey transact daily you go know say alot is going on. Aside investors dem we also get traders wey dey in need of buying and selling Bitcoin frequently so no worry d market dey.
445  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Creating several topics while the already created has not been attended to on: November 03, 2023, 12:18:56 PM
I don't want to go more further but the truth be told, one thing that people don't like to hear is the truth and is always bitter while saying it. Please I will also call on CryptopreneurBrainboss to monitor every profile that is spamming or that is constantly creating topics without giving space for at least 24 to 48hrs, they can reply any post from the local but littering the board with topics isn't ideal for my own view. So if you notice such person do not include them in the weekly merits and also write to hugeblack not to accept their monthly merits awards from the local board so that we can make here a better place for us.

Say I be moderator, admin, local board abi forum owner? Beside wetin dey enter my submission na more of replies and not topic as topics wey dey get better chance of been rewarded no dey too full here na mostly reply dem. If you see someone spamming cautious dem and report dem to moderators for deletions. If dem no tak advice, report dem for spam on those spam reporting thread for meta. No go dey red tagged anybody but you can give dem neutral tag although tags aren't meant for posting behaviors (even theymos discourage us from tagging people for their posting pattern) but when you see person wey no wan do the needful, you make am learn lesson so others will learn from his ignorance and behavior demselfs.

Make we no go dey put rules wey no dey forum for here and any rules wey una wan put wey no go in accordance with dat of the forum make una know say na una go enforce am and not looking up to me to do that. There's no rule against creating of more than one topic in 24-48hrs that I know of, you can create as many topic as you want provided they're of quality and when you see someone misusing the privilege, report dem to moderators and when moderators aren't doing their jobs perfectly It'll help us to get our own local board moderators which anybody dat theymos finds worthy (possibly based on their ratio of good reported posts on the local baord) will be made moderator to oversee the board. Make una no dey fear to report, talking no go solve anything. If you report one person to take corrections and him no gree, submit their names for spam threads and watch how others learn.
446  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Timely Secret to Profit on: November 03, 2023, 04:59:31 AM
For Hodler or Holders as the case may be next year is likely Haven. Keep the spirit high for patience is a virtue and it pays.
My Version- "Blessed are those who hears this words, but more blessed are those who hears this word and keep them"
Luke 11:28

Hodling pays, and as an investor or trader you should have known when you're exiting the market already before you enter the market. The end of the year always comes with an expectation of the market closing as people celebrate the festivals but that should also give you an opportunity to be buying more during this period instead of following the crowd and selling. Next year is the year when Bitcoin halving is happening so there's no benefits in selling just because it's the end of the year. How certain are you that you'll be able to catch the next wave before the market starts moving.

I would say we continue holding and wait for the bull market fully, institutional  investors can do whatever they want but we don't have to follow their path, you won't lose if you don't sell so even though the market drops this festive periods, we should just have it at the back of our mind that I'll be just a short period drop as certainly the price of Bitcoin will start raising when the festivals are over as investors anticipate the bull market that's coming.

The scenario is different for traders as closing your trade will be the ideal thing to do to avoid losses as we don't know how far the price of Bitcoin will drop or mightn't drop but that's not a risk to take since you're not Hodling although you should consider this strategy instead of trading as Hodling would be more profitable.
447  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is magic internet money on: November 03, 2023, 04:02:31 AM
And Bitcoin doesn't really exist, it's just code and we can "see" it in our wallet, we can't touch it like real cash, because it's only 0 or 1 (or hashs).
But still, we can own it, when we own our private key, where we can access it in Bitcoin's Blockchain, what's really magical and we can even send it to someone else in a completely different country to a different address, what’s even more magical.

We're in the 21st century buddy, the concept of money having to be felt is an old school of thought and doesn't make sense in today world, Bitcoin isn't the only money that can't be felt as there are so many other digital currency but they don't match up to Bitcoin qualities though. Bitcoin exists in the digital world and you saying Bitcoin isn't really money is laughable. Bitcoin isn't just Internet money but it's money as it has value outside of the internet. We use Bitcoin physically although isn't widely acceptable yet but that's just a matter of time before it happens.

Bitcoin is magical no doubt but we shouldn't limit our thinking to seeing Bitcoin as just an internet money just because it's digital, everything is going digital as we're leaving behind physical money as they have limitations. Even the fiats are moving digital with the introduction of CBDC. We're in a time of cashless policy dominating the globe as people are more interested in spending money without having to expose their financial status as they can spend with just the swap of their credit cards.
.
I don't like the fact you're describing Bitcoin as some fantasy money as you have repeated it been a magical money multiple times. Bitcoin is just like every other currency but has more features to encourage privacy and decentralization. Bitcoin is what money should be which is to serve as a means of exchange and also a store of value because your wealth in Bitcoin keeps increasing unlike fiats that keeps depreciating your wealth value.
448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Giveaway Scam On the Rise on: November 03, 2023, 03:03:11 AM
So, newbies and everyone should stay careful of phishing emails, tweets etc promoting a giveaway. It's unlikely to get a genuine crypto giveaway. It's better to stay clear of it, as the few information required of you to join the giveaway can be used to sweep your cryptocurrency.

The better choices will be to avoid all giveaways and airdrops we see on social medias. This days even going to the official twitter handle to confirm a giveaways or airdrop news isn't safe anymore because those handlers are getting hacked by hackers and been used to validate their scams. We have to increase our security awarenesses and also avoid using our main wallets that we use for holding our Bitcoin or other cryptocurency to use in participation in any online tasks that's if we must interact with them.

The rate at which scammers using the twitter CEO to scam people is increasing so why don't we just consider anything that has to do with Elon musk and giveaway a scam. They're not only on twitter as I see them too when watching some crypto related YouTube videos. Scammers are advancing and the used of AI makes their scamming ideas endless and that's one of the disadvantages of this new technology as they'll enhanced those that want to use it negatively.

The more Bitcoin gets popular, the more we get more scammers and hackers pick interest in the industry because they know they can easily find gullible victims here as the market is full of newbies with little or no experience. We shouldn't be ignorant or we'll regret as we become victims of this scam, we have to be one step ahead of this scammers and that's by staying informed.
449  Economy / Economics / Re: Marketing Strategies in the Digital Age on: November 02, 2023, 02:03:42 PM
Finally: with the new technology, you pay goods on delivery, and the company carrier will deliver to you on your door step. With the pay on delivery, the scamming rate will reduce, because people have been scammed by the fake sellers online in the payment before delivery system.

That's quite true as online scamming rate are getting reduced but this new way of payment also came with another security challenges which is the deliver person getting rubbed and this isn't only happening to people but delivery robots are also getting attacked. Before it was the companies at the position of power since they'll have to receive payment first before delivering but now the customers are at the position of power and people are using that advantages to commit crimes that's leaving businesses bankrupted especially newly launched delivery startups.

Overall I prefer the modern day marketing strategy than the old because I can't imagine myself going to read through newspapers or magazine before I can see ads on appliances that'll be helpful for my home but with ads on our devices we can easily come some appliances that'll make your chores easier without you knowing you needed it at first.

The modern day marketing has made things better but also it comes at a cost because our privacy are no longer respected, our devices are recording and listening to everything we do or see then ads are been displayed to us based on our preferences.
450  Economy / Economics / Re: why super rich pay no tax but suggest giving all their wealth away (eventually) on: November 02, 2023, 01:46:00 PM
so here is a tip for us bitcoiners who ask how can governments try to tax bitcoin but yet, fiat billlionaires dont get taxed
there needs to be a bitcoin service where people who want to buy bitcoin join(lets call it a credit union or loan company). but instead of "buying" they become investors/funders of loans.
so the service offers loans to bitcoiners that want to cash out. but the bitcoiner doesnt sell the coin. but instead hands the coin over to the service as collateral.

I just imagine how this will be done in a decentralize manner but can't figure it out and I hope you aren't suggesting we should use a centralized service because it goes against the whole point of adopting Bitcoin in regards to avoiding restrictions from centralized services. If doing this is going to make us give up our privacy to those centralized services because obviously they'll demand KYC verification from us and who knows, they might probably rat us out to the authorities when they get called for questions. There's nothing bad with doing your civil rights of paying taxes to the government. Just because the rich are doing it doesn't mean we have to because that isn't what made them rich. Are the government eating the taxes, no they're using it to run the affairs of the state and for those of you in a well governed states you guys are lucky because I'll pay more to get a lifestyle that's a quarter to what you're enjoying from your government.

Oh yeah, I've watched videos about this scheme with investing money and then taking loans to avoid paying taxes. To be honest, I think it's a practice that should be condemned if not somehow made illegal because being rich and doing things like avoiding giving your fair share back to your country is disgusting behaviour.

When I do get rich, I'll do everything in my power to provide for the society and paying my taxes is one of those things, you know what's funny, avoid taxes won't make you wealth or poor, those would will be rich will still be rich even after paying all the taxes so why should we go through all this to avoid paying the tax when we'll still leave all the wealth behind some day when we're no more. Paying of taxes is our way of contributing to the society as those taxe are some of the funds that the government use in paying public servant like the fire fighters and cleaners that keep our street clean. Also the law enforcement officers that protect us against crime in the society and so on.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Simple Reason Why Bitcoin is not Money on: November 02, 2023, 11:21:27 AM
A) Why's Bitcoin not money?
Because it is purposeless. Meaning, when bitcoins are bought they can never be used for anything, and whoever holds them must ultimately sold them - dump them on someone else.

Due to the lack of a purpose whose fulfilment would generate a specific amount of benefit, there's no pivot for estimating how many bitcoins to accept for goods or services and is, thus, impossible to perform a rational trade.

Let me use your words exactly, purposeless means aimless, meaningless but Bitcoin does have aim, its aim is to be used as a decentralized P2P payment method and although it hasn't fully achieved this when it comes to adoption but that doesn't mean people aren't using it as a P2P payment currency. Just because we see more of centralized services dominating the industry doesn't mean we don't have those using Bitcoin as it was intended to be used. What is money if I may ask, according to google; (money is a current medium of exchange in the form of coins and banknotes.) Isn't Bitcoin been used as a medium of exchange or isn't that it's purposes?, the population using Bitcoin as a means of exchange isn't large but that doesn't mean it isn't been used. It has been legally accepted in some countries as a medium of exchange while in other countries although it isn't been legalized but still it's been ued as we have services accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment.

Quote
B) Why is Bitcoin a pyramid-style scheme?
Because whoever invested purposeful items in it cannot get such items back without new investors.

That's just your mindset and not the reality, if we're talking about ponzi schemes then fiat is more of a ponzi scheme. Bitcoin is a digital currency and its investment features are just like any other currency trading in the market. People invest in USD and hold it and for you to make profits they have to sell to the new investors coming into the market. People buy stocks and sell to new investors coming into the market. When it's an investment the earlier buyers sells to others coming into the market later and that's just how it works. Currencies can be used as an Investment too so that's what is just happening with Bitcoin. Ponzi scheme businesses don't have any utility but rely on new users to continue operating but Bitcoin don't rely on new users as it can be traded over and over again, new users are just an additional bonus that increase the adoption.
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help? on: November 02, 2023, 09:59:44 AM
Weather we choose to believe it or not, there is an impending global problem that if concerted effort is not put at addressing, there will be chaos. Is there anyway Bitcoin can assist in addressing this?

Bitcoin is a currency and not a poverty elimination solution, is not everytime we see problem's that has to do with poverty and we immediately think Bitcoin is the solution. Such mentality is why we have many moon boys in the market and they're causing more volatility to the market. Job provisions so those people can take care of themselves in their respective counties is the solution to those migration problem. People also have to be enlightened that they can make money online from any part of the world, they just need the right information as information is power. Them thinking that leaving their country in search of greener pastures in the western world would save them but when they're not equipped with valuables skills they'll still find it difficult in those countries they're running to.

Quote
Bitcoin offers unique opportunities for people who want to make decent amount of money and I have the feeling that if these people start investing in Bitcoin, we will see a rapid decline in global poverty.  What do you think?

How do they start investing in Bitcoin when they don't have a job to look after their self and families. What those people need are job creation in their countries but their corrupt government won't provide them with jobs or make the policy of the country company friendly so private companies can pick interest in having branches in their country and provide jobs for their citizens. Nobody should think getting involved in Bitcoin immediately solve their poverty problem, they need jobs that can sustain them during the bearish season of the market so they can keep on holding their Bitcoin to make profits in the future and not looking for short period gain that makes them miss out of future gains.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Still A P2P Electronic Cash System ?. on: November 02, 2023, 08:48:01 AM
I perceive that most of us have forgotten or should i say don't understand the concept and the primary purpose of Bitcoin. I had to made this conclusion after reading several post from different communities including Bitcointalk. Most post I read were meant to promote the use of bitcoin, but failed to apply the primary concept.

Will you blame them, people are only discussing what is trending at the moment, you don't expect people to be discussing Bitcoin as a currency when they can't comfortably use it in their different regions. Why it seems Bitcoin been an investment/asset is what is trending is because those are what the centralized companies in the industry are promoting. People aren't joining Bitcoin market because they want to use it as a cureency but because they see possibility of making profits when they Invest in Bitcoin and that's why popular words like HODL and halving are trending as those are words associated with making profits from investing in Bitcoin. There was a time when those words weren't trending so that means in future other things might be trending and not Bitcoin been seen as just an investment/assets but a currency.

Quote
I think we are very lucky with satoshi's brilliance, but sadly, majority now consider bitcoin as an investment only, which makes me wonder if Bitcoin is still a p2p electronic cash system.

Bitcoin hasn't changed, it's still a decentralized P2P cash, Bitcoin hasn't and can't be centralized so it hasn't lost its value, just that the majority of the current users of Bitcoin are profit focused and not utility focus. When more companies begin to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment, the narrative will change. For now we just have to give Bitcoin some time, you don't expect a currency that's just few years old to dethrone the current fiat system that has been around for hundreds of centuries. If Bitcoin been considered an asset or investment is what is going to bring more people awareness of the currency then it shouldn't be a problem. Narrative can always change provided the true value or Bitcoin doesn't change.

455  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: One crazy thing that most Nigerians do that affect our savings over time on: November 01, 2023, 11:04:26 PM
Buying recharge card directly from your bank using USSD look simple but may affect your savings if no concrete budget is made for your monthly earnings. This will make you load card unnecessarily and therefore will increase your SMS monthly charges by your bank. This SMS charges may be small but is something for an average man after accumulating over time.

Nope you're budgeting poorly that's why it's affecting your savings, you shoudn't put all your money together. As a smart person your savings and money meant for spending shoudn't be in the same account. Your recharge card money no supposed affect your savings because the money no big normally and the watching of your calls no just dey necessary like dat when you plan well. What if you be business person and those calls are needed. Wetin you go talk na the sms charge wey if you dey use microfinance banks like OPAY, you go fit deactivate am so e no go dey charge you for the message as Opay already sends you email notifications and pop up notification on the app so the sms dem no too dey necessary. No use one account keep all your money, you fit use our traditional banks for keeping of emergency funds and microfinance banks for spending and na there the recharge cards go dey come from.

Quote
Conclusion: It's advisable to get recharge card from a store than buying using USSD from your bank account.

You wan just suffer yourself, dem dey bring technological advancement and you wan take yourself backwards. So because you no fit control yourself you think say suffering yourself is the solution. If you value your time, you no go dey make unnecessarily calls because time is money and when speaking with love ones I no go call that one unnecessarily calls as life is short and we should spend time with our love ones more because tomorrow isn't guaranteed. The Koko be say the world is moving forward so we supposed follow them too and not still going manual. Just develop a good habit and you'll be able to overcome wasting money on recharge cards.
456  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigerians preferred to learn things the harder way. on: November 01, 2023, 08:14:19 PM
Our young people are uninformed of current knowledge that is constantly circulated; they are just concerned about obtaining quick money, which has pushed them to accumulate it through unscrupulous means. They only show concern for projects that are successful; they make no contributions to anything that is growing, preferring to serve as hosts and keep all for themselves. The youths are also done, how can you explain this, a full-grown man continues to depend entirely on gambling to feed, it's ludicrous because this is the modern period and everything is progressing to the next level.

It's as a result of frustration from the unproductive economy, the youth aren't lazy per se because when they're given the opportunity elsewhere they excel in numbers. The country no good for hustling because as you dey hustle nothing come out that's why the youths are frustrated and has resulted to gambling since e come belike na to just the wish na him be the way out as nothing dey work. No body prefer to learn things the hard way, na just say na the condition wey we find ourselves be dat. Nigerians no like suffer and you go fit observe that one as immediately we touch small money we dey freshening up ourselves. How you go say this kind thing about us when our work rate dey show for everywhere, as we dey reign and carry the African to the world for most things.

My brother no ves, but I need to just clear this thought about you classifying the whole Nigerian youth on this because I believe Nigerian youth are actually the most industrious and ever thriving set of person in the whole of Africa, I agree that they are some bad eggs but I think this particular view is everywhere all over the world even if it's not gamble related lazy people tend to do what they feel is the easiest and quickest way for them even if it's the most stupid means.

Exactly, we wey be say anything wey we put our hand into dey trend and dey successful, na we dey top for the crypto industry, entertainment industry for African both music and movies. We still dey top for most type of sport. OP think say na manufactured number wey dey make us top for all this things? men dey hustle to find daily bread but just dat the government no dey help matters as all they're after is stealing for their generations and not building a country that'll help the masses. Wetin Nigerians no know dem no dey do but you see anything wey enter the country and we come sabi say e dey give money, e no dey commot the same. The crimes no be because of laziness but because hunger is in the land although I no dey support am before una misunderstand my statement.
457  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: When Godfather-ism becomes a problem in Nigeria on: November 01, 2023, 07:25:42 PM
The result of him disobedience; Wike don put call to impeach am and nah the mata we dey try to settle like dis. E no get how e wan be, once you becomegodson to these overbearing Godfathers, just prepare to be a puppet and I come dey ask, e sopoz be like this? For how long wey we go dey need a certain approval or push before we get to certain pedestal for life? How una see this mata, is Fubara sopoz to fight for his freedom or e just dey raise dust wey go still settle after Wike don settle the right pipo?

The way I see wetin play out na two ways, to begin with I go say wike dey at fault then I go also say fubara also dey at fault. Wetin fubara been dey expect when him accept to be the godson of wike, you think say without wike fubara for fit win that election. Who know fubara before wike endorse am and use all the illegal means take put am for seat. If you aren't going to be loyal, don't accept the deal to begin with because wike dey very right at wetin him dey do when you look am from the point of business and loyalty which is what they have all turned our politics to but morally wetin wike dey do no good because it'll be hindering the growth of the state and if him love us as him talk make him focus for Abuja leave Rivers state alone. Rivers state can't have a godfather, I been dey think say wike go fit do Jagaban for Rivers but e dun dey scatter already. Port Harcourt politicians can't be loyal and that has just been proven.

Lastly, the role of the minister, Nyesom Wike, is to give a listening hear to whatever arrangements the negotiators come with and allow peace to reign. He should also realize that the development of the state is at stake and it is practically not possible to impeach the governor as he now commands some powers and respect. Wike must also learn to give in to the decision of the negotiators and agree to whatever solutions they intend to proffer especially as it positively impart on the people of the state.

You dey forget say Jagaban comot seating governments from seat wey be say him no fit win common primary ticket for return governor. If wike wan pull down fubara him go fit do am because him get state and federal power. Wike na coded man oh, I sure say him get dirty on fubara before giving him dat ticket because na wetin him dey do from time. Wike is a political father and from this side wey we from, godfatherism will always be a norm. Even for oyinbo land dem get godfathers but their own na say their politicians dey help develop the place and not just stealing money into their pocket. When a state get better plans, the state go dey move forward like Lagos state irrespective of the godfatherism wey dey happen for the state. As fubara dun talk, this is a inhouse fight between father and son and I believe it'll be resolved soon.
458  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: High cost of commodities on: November 01, 2023, 03:33:34 PM
As we approach the festive season...prices of things have really gone up...from food items... clothing..even household items and there is less flow of cash
What could be the actual cause? ...will the average Nigerian survive it? Well we only hope for a better tomorrow

Inflation due to the devaluation of the Naira na the main reason and the second reason na because say na festive period as you dey talk. Marketers need money to use enjoy Christmas and dem know say people dey willing to spend this period as na when money dey flow for the country be dis. Bosses and businesses go give out Christmas bonus so dem wey no dey get dat bonus na to increase their price so dem fit afford things too like others. This one na number occurrence every year and e dey happen for every country so it isn't only a Nigerian thing. Best way to prepare for his times na to buy times on time when dey never cost. You can stuck them up so in the festive period you already have things that'll hold you during this expensive days.

We complain things are hard yet we ourselves make things difficult for us. Many Nigerian traders and businessmen are hoarding goods they bought at extremely cheap prices few months back and are waiting till we get to November or even December to sell them at exorbitant prices because they know demand will be high during the festive period. What I like about it is, the high profits they are making,  they will still spend them on other expensive commodities and services.

That's just it, people dey forget say when you increase your price for your business, it automatically increase the other businesses dat depends on your business as everyone try to get profits so they can use other services too without going broke. If transportation increase, market woman go increase and others wey buy the foodstuffs go also increase. The hoarding of goods is a known practice as e dey since so na just wetin dey and we can't stop it because na people businesses strategy but wetin the government go fit do na to make things better for the country and even though goods and services increase this festive period e no go too cost for us not to be able to afford them with peace of mind. Na the hardship for the country dey cause us to para if not this things na normal something wey dey happen everywhere.
459  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What to do with 1 BTC as a Nigerian on: November 01, 2023, 02:25:49 PM
The idea is diversifying. Why would I leave all my capital and profit in one place when i can turn my profits into Capital in another place and ensure profit ? Personally, I'm a real estate enthusiast and in as much as I can get a whole lot of profit from Bitcoin I wouldn't want to let go of that dream just to sit at home waiting for speculations about Bitcoin price rising and falling.

Dem dun use diversification brainwash una for the forum that when una here diversification una go immediately think say una dey do the right thing, that's why many people go investing in altcoins with the mindset of diversifying and they think they're doing the right thing. Investment in this country are all sinking so be careful what you're investing in make you no go sell gold go buy iron. You said if you have one Bitcoin, why will you sell want has the potential to increase more in dollars for another thing wey even though e increase for Naira, the devaluation of naira dun make you lose all the profits you supposed make. If you have Bitcoin continue holding it if all you're going to buy are labilities which is what most business in Nigeria has become of recent (Read the second part of my post below for better understanding).

With the rate that the naira is massively falling against dollar, it is not wise enough to invest in anything that has to do with naira currently because is will loose in value over time since naira is fast increasing in the falling on parallel market, what is more profitable is for you to hold your asset no in bitcoin,

Well said and make I just use some rough explanation give an example. If you convert your Bitcoin to Naira (do investment in Naira) make we say you covert at $35,000 and dollars dey $1=1000 naira (note this is a rough explanation so all figures no dey accurate). It mean say your invested #35 million naira. In 2025 Bitcoin reach $100k per Bitcoin e mean say by just holding you would have made 100million Naira that's if dollars no increase oh then imagine a situation wey dollar reach 2k naira per dollars that's 200 million. That Naira investment wey you get no fit give you 100 or 200 million in just 2 years. Unless you dey extra lucky and buy land for where e explode due to development. People wey Invest for shares 10 years ago are regretting because the devaluation of naira dey make dem no get profits. I no dey against diversifying but no go dey sell your Bitcoin for that kind thing, Bitcoin itself is an investment with more higher potential, you fit use your Naira dey diversify not selling Bitcoin.
460  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Educating Nigerians about Bitcoin on: November 01, 2023, 01:54:06 PM
but to accept bitcoin no be the problem, them get the knowledge about bitcoin? Because wetin person no know big pass am by far. People need to get a solid knowledge about bitcoin first before using it and how to secure their coins/wallet if possible make them get guide wey go guide them through because if bitcoin dey legalize for naija scammers go dey invent new methods every day just like the way scammers dey for fiat

In regards to that topic and your comment here, if na the knowledge we no get need to bother ourselves much because immediately the government legalize Bitcoin for the country, people dey wey go begin create awareness and projects go begin create awareness too for the country with sponsorship from their own project wey dem dey try sell as well. Make I just use MMM as an example, the ponzi scheme been dey the world since but Nigerian no know but as e enter the country people wey wan benefit begin promote am, I fit remember seminars been announced on radio stations regularly and this people dey teach people how to register and do others things. Even after the government come out dey condem am, people still dey come out in their numbers for this events to learn am. Checkout Bitcoin too, at a time seminar were also the norm of the town before the semi ban came wey come weak anything cryptocurency for the country so we no need to worry as people/startups dey we go do the needful and make the adoption by the marketers faster.

Quote
In essence I wan talk say make we dey teach about bitcoin for our area because as bitcoin dey grow so countries go make bitcoin dey legalize as the world dey develop with different technology and Nigeria no go dey left behind, I believe say Nigeria go make bitcoin as their legal tender one day. So make we start to dey teach the knowledge about bitcoin so that the thing no go dey new for people ear.

I get that believe too even though Bitcoin no become the official currency of the country (which looks impossible to achieve), I feel say at a point in history Bitcoin should be recognized and we are allowed to use Bitcoin legally as a alternative currency to naira. Like both Naira and Bitcoin go dey acceptable legally everywhere for the country and not we hiding to make payments in Bitcoin. Everything na gradual process sha and we need change our politicians to be able to achieve this as the more we get more technologically advanced politicians in power the more we go dey get better laws wey go favor the country in technology and development but when we still dey vote all this old old people for power dem go only dey take us backwards.
